Love. Fluttershy had it bad. Who did she love? Well I'll tell you. She love Spike the Dragon. It all started one year ago one she met Spike and his Purple mentor/ best friend Twilight Sparkle came in to check in for the Summer Sun Celebration. She remembered that she was very quiet to Twilight. Then when they left she saw Spike. She instantly got interested in him because she had never seen a dragon, or one that small. She talked to Spike all the way to the library until he was very tired and had to go to bed. When she got home she enjoyed her day and fell asleep quickly. The following day she talked to Spike again a little bit, but then she had to go to the store to get some carrots for Angel. After a week she started to feel funny whenever she saw him. She got fluttery whenever he was around.
One day she went to bed thinking about him.
"Oh Fluttershy stop thinking about him and stop dreaming." Fluttershy whispered in her sleep.
A knock at her door woke her up. She opened the door and it was Spike.
"Oh u-um h-hi Spike how are you?" Fluttershy got that feeling again.
"I'm doing Awesome!" Spike said as he smiled and then suddenly turned serious, "Twilight is getting ready to leave for Canterlot for a week." Fluttershy was surprised that Twilight didn't tell her and her friends sooner.
"Why is she leaving?” Fluttershy said as she keeps feeling that strange feeling.
"Because Princess Celestia needs her for a meeting of the Saddle Arabian leaders." Spike said with all seriousness.
"Okay u-um where are you staying?" Fluttershy said hopefully.
"Oh I’m staying here if that's ok with you." Fluttershy's heart jumped. A whole week with Spike (heavy sigh)? How is she going to contain her feelings?
"Um wh-why here and why not with somepony else?" Fluttershy said, but hoped he wouldn’t decide leave.
"Because I like it here. It's calm and you make the best tea ever." said Spike Fluttershy smiled. People did love her tea.
"Ok then you can stay." Fluttershy said.
The next day Spike arrived with Twilight. Fluttershy noticed that Twilight had a long list.
"Hi Fluttershy here’s a list of things Spike likes, needs and the things he needs to do for the library." Twilight said in a rush. The list was super long. It fell to Fluttershy’s hooves and kept on going.
"Wow, Spike has a lot of things he needs to do." Fluttershy said.
"And what I want." Spike said with a little jump.
Twilight looked down at Spike and got down to his level "Ok I have to leave soon Spike. Be nice and try not to prank her because she's delicate."
"Oh all right" Spike huffed. Twilight gave Spike a hug, said goodbye and left. Fluttershy noticed that Spike was starting to cry.
"Oh don't cry Spike. She'll be back before you know it.” Fluttershy said.
"(Sniffing) I-I know b-but I-I want her to st-stay." said Spike with his voice breaking up. Fluttershy grabbed Spike and gave him a warm hug.
Fluttershy thought for a second and then thought of an idea. "It's ok. Would you like some nice hot chocolate make you feel better?"
Spike smiled and said, "Sh-sure. Thanks Fluttershy" Spike ran inside and waited.
Fluttershy smiled and thought to herself, "I think I may just like having Spike this week."
Fluttershy walked inside and started making Spike some hot Cocoa.
Spike came in and said, "Hey I’m a little hungry. Do you have any gems by any chance?"
Fluttershy giggled to herself and responded by saying "No, but I think my friend Steve might have some."
Spike frowned and said, "That's ok. What else do you have?"
"Oh well, I have salad ingredients, carrots, tomatoes…" Fluttershy started to say.
Spike interrupted and said, "I'll just have a salad". Fluttershy handed Spike his hot chocolate and started making him a salad.
Spike took a sip from his cup and then asked Fluttershy, "Do you want some help?"
Fluttershy stopped and said, "I don't think so, but if you want to you can help." Spike got up from his chair and started handing Fluttershy some ingredients.
They were both quiet for a few minutes. Spike broke the silence and asked, "So, um, how's Angel?"
Fluttershy responded, “Oh, he's doing fine."
Spike stopped moving for a second and then said, "Well I’m pretty sad that Twilight's gone."
Fluttershy said reassuringly "She'll be back in a few days so you don't have to worry." Fluttershy reached for the knife to cut up the carrots, and so did Spike. Spike's claw rested on Fluttershy's hoof and they both looked at each other.
Spike blushed, took his claw away and said, "H-here Fluttershy." Spike handed her the knife.
Fluttershy was blushing madly and all that came out of her mouth was "Oh I-I oh um-um th-thanks. I'll be right back." Fluttershy ran to her bedroom with speed that would beat Pinkie Pie. Spike just shrugged and started cutting the carrots.
Fluttershy locked the door and started talking to herself, "Oh Fluttershy, y-you can't hide your feelings. Maybe you should tell him. N-no he'll probably reject you. Oh hush. He's a nice dragon and he'll understand you."
Spike knocked on the door and asked, "Are you okay in there Fluttershy?"
Fluttershy quickly responded and said, "Y-yes I am." Fluttershy unlocked the door and saw Spike fidgeting.
Spike asked her, "Um Fluttershy, do you have a Band-Aid?"
Fluttershy thought for a minute and responded, "Why? Did you cut yourself?" Spike showed her his claw. It had a big cut on it.
Spike said, "Yes. I was trying to finish the salad and accidentally cut myself." Fluttershy took him to the kitchen and reached for the highest cabinet. She pulled out a medical box and opened it.
Fluttershy grabbed his claw and but the Band-Aid on it "Here, this should help." Fluttershy put the Band-Aid on and said, "It should heal in a few days."
Spike sighed in relief and said, "Thanks Fluttershy."
Fluttershy smiled and said, "Your welcome."
Spike turned around but then turned back around and said, “Um c-could you kiss it?"
Fluttershy blushed a little bit and said, "Does Twilight do that?"
Spike said, "Yeah she does. It helps it heal faster." Fluttershy thought about it and then kissed his claw sweetly.
Spike stuttered a bit and then said, "Th-thanks Fluttershy."
Fluttershy blushed and said, "N-no problem Spike." Fluttershy looked at the clock. It said 7:30. "It's getting late Spike, you can sleep on the couch." Spike nodded, grabbed his pillow and blanket and laid down.
Fluttershy smiled and said, “He looks so cute when he's sleeping." Fluttershy laid down on her bed and fell asleep thinking of Spike.
