It didn’t help that everything looked the same. Every hallway, every door, every room. The same. Still I could feel it right behind me, almost like it was breathing down my neck. But each time I looked back nothing was there. Nothing but the sound of my hoofstepes. It wasn’t behind me. No… But it was here… It was always here… I turned another corner and gasped at the wall I stared at. It was a dead end. I tried to double back but found my way impeded by something…monstrous. I could hear a gurgle sound and I realized, it was laughing. It was laughing at me. It knew it had me and it was laughing. I backpedaled until my flank hit the wall behind me and even then I stood on my hindhooves and rested my back against the wall, my body quivering like a leaf in a galestorm. I tried to talk but nothing came, no words, not even a whimper. All I could do was stare as it approached me, its monstrous form becoming more vivid in the light. Its maw opened revealing rows of sharpened teeth, each one filed to a deadly point My eyes widened with shock before I quickly shut them as I waited for the end that I knew I could not escape. I could feel it getting closer and closer and upon feeling its hot breath against my fur, I began to shake more and more violent, fear seeping into my heart. “The nightmare…” I tried to shut my eyes tighter against its voice. The voice I had come to dread in my long hours here “…Never…” I opened one eye, my curiosity getting the better of me. “DIES!” I hear a roar and then- ~ “Noo!!” A lavender mare sat up in bed in a cold sweat, her eyes wide and dialated and her breath ragged. She wrapped her hooves around her body and began to sod softly to herself. “Twilight!” A little purple and green dragon hopped onto her bed and drew closer to her. “Twilight! What’s wrong?! I-“ His question was stopped as a pair of hooves found their way around his body pulling him closer to the shivering mare. “Spike…please…Don’t leave me…Don’t leave me…Please” Spike’s eyes grew wide with concern but soften at the sight of the shivering mare. “I’m here Twilight…I’m here…” He held the mare closer as best he could, the lavender pony sobbing softly into him as he did so. ~ Doctor Whooves in The Nightmare Haunting Ponyville Fleur held on for dear life as the TARDIS began to violent jut around, making her wish that she had a stronger stomach. She had barely believed him when he had said that he was an alien, let alone a time traveling one, but after what the Doctor had called, ‘Just a quick spin around Equestria’, and after seeing her world from a view only seen by one other being she knew about, she was very much so inclined to believe him. She looked over to her side to find the Doctor laughing like a colt who had found twenty bits on the ground, he too clinging to the rails just a tight as she was, and still wearing what ridiculously oversized tweed coat. Despite her now turning stomach, not really know if it’s the movement of his fashion statement, but she could help but smile lightly at the Doctor’s ever sunny personality. Well ever light until he had come face to face with that monster. Fleur shuddered at the thought of those ponies dying at that things hooves or whatever it had. She was scared out of her mind but found that the Doctor, despite his foalish personality, kept a calm cool and level head, even when he was angry. She brought out of her thoughts by the sudden stop of the TARDIS coming to a rest. Fleur released the rail with shaky hooves before turning to the Doctor. “Please tell me that this doesn’t happen every time you travel.” The Doctor looked at her, and then looked off into the sky, and then looked off to the side. He focused back on her with a smile to fringe innocence. “Weelllllll….” “Lovely…” The mare groaned as rolled her eyes. She turned to trot to the control panel and looked up at one of the screens trying to figure out what exactly it was saying. “So…did we arrive where I wanted to go?” “Of course! Ponyville 1001 C.R. 19th of summer.” He pulled one of the screens close and inspected it. “Yep! Yep! Yep! All is good on this end! Alright then shall we get going? I barely got a chance to interact with any ponies due to that whole body snatching incident.” He made his way to the door and pulled it open with a creek, letting a flood of sunlight wash over him. “Oh now this is what I’m talking about!” “Doctor! Wait for me!” Fleur called out before following him out. The sun shined brightly upon the mare and the stallion as they trotted outside. Fleur looked about finding that they had landed behind one of the many houses had littered the town of Ponyville. She was taken aback that they had once again moved but took it in stride this time. If she was going to traveling with a weird Trottingham speaking stallion that travels in a small blue box that’s a lot bigger on the inside then she would need to. She could see the Doctor a ways off bouncing like a foal. “Would you look at that! And that over there?! This place is just bonkers! Oh but the good kind of bonkers! I love the good kind of bonkers!” “Doctor.” Fleur called out as she approached. “Do not forget why we are here. I’m just here to pick up a few things for my room back in the TARDIS, which I had yet to thank you for by the way.” When she saw him wave his hoof dismissively she continued. “I’ve seen Ponyville before. Its quant yes but I would rather…” She looked up and smiled as she did so. “See what’s out there. See what I can see…” She lowered her head as she thought. ‘And to get as far as away from Fancy as I can.’ “Right! Sorry! Alright Off we pop!” He ran off to his right. “Doctor it’s the other way.” “Right! I knew that! Just testing you.” He said as he correct his direction. Fleur shook her head as she smiled again, following after him. “Silly foal…” Chapter Three“Doctor! Doctor!” Fleur cried out from behind. “Wait up darn you!” The off white unicorn mare galloped as fast as her tall legs would take her, somehow only just barely keeping up with the Time Lord, never gaining ground, but only just keeping him within her sights. “No time Miss Fleur!” The Doctor responded over his shoulder. “There’s a mystery afoot and I need information! Do you know the best place to gather information on history and whatnot…you know, besides the internet. But really, who trust the internet these days.” Fleur deadpanned. “To answer your question, I would have to say the library.” Her face then contorted into confusion. “Wait…Doctor, what’s an internet?” “No time Miss Fleur!” The doctor said just as he narrowly dodged an orange mare with a Stetson. “Now keep up, we’re almost there!” “I swear, I’m gaining a twitch just from being in your presence.” Fleur said exasperatingly to herself before speaking out loud. “And how do you even know where the library is anyhoof Doctor?” The Doctor smirked as he looked back once again. “My dear Miss Fleur, in my experience you tend to know how to tell a lot from oh so little. Places that gather information is one of the easiest to figure out as it can only be in one of two types of places. The first one being a place that is so out of the way, anyone,” He paused before correcting himself. “Anypony, have to get use to that, anypony would miss it.” Fleur raised an eyebrow. “And the second Doctor?” “The second Miss Fleur…” The Doctor’s sudden stop nearly caused the mare to slam nose first into his backside. “Is that it will be in the place so unique that anypony could find it. “When she recovered she found herself going from glaring at the Doctor to looking towards what they had actually stopped in front of. Fleur found herself looking at the door of a giant tree. Though, there was more to the tree then just a trunk and leaves. What stood in front of the mare was a rather impressive mix magic and nature. Despite having a door and many windows she could tell that the tree was still alive. “The Second Miss Fleur,” The Doctor responded. “Can be in the one place that stands out the most.” With a smile on his face and a pep in his step, the Doctor pushed the door open, revealing the interior of the building as well as announcing their arrival as the edge of the door hit the bell dangling from the top of the frame. “Ah that look your giving right now.” She heard the Doctor say from beside her. “That’s the look of somepony knowing something. Let me guess…You can feel it too right, through your magic and what not? It’s alive and you know it, though not sentient like you are me.” He smiled widely as he touched the wood. “It’s a living, breathing, regular tree made to look like a home. Now that is just brilliant! I would have to guess that your magic had a big part in building such a structure, am I right? Oh you ponies just keep surprising me no matter what!” Though small and quaint, Fleur could see an impressive amount of book lined up along the shelves the were engraved into the walls, and many more scattered along the ground, as if somepony had been looking through them. Fleur looked towards the books before looking back towards the Doctor, the Timelord’s face forming a deep frown. It was a look that nearly made her back away from him the longer he stood there, his eyes shifting from side to side as he did so. “D-Doctor…Is something wrong?” He snapped out of his inner thoughts to give the mare beside him a wide smile. “Oh! No I’m fine. Never better actually. Just wondering who is coming down the stairs is all.” “Coming down the…” She looked over towards the staircase to find two figures making their way down. One being that of clearly male pony with black fur and silvery white mane. A cutie mark of a thunder cloud pictured on his flank. Riding on top of his back was a purple and green lizard like creature. “Hello?” The stallion said. “I’m sorry but the Library is closed due to this pande-“ He paused to look towards the Doctor’s companion. “W-What the?! Fleur Di Lis!?” The stallion nearly tripped down the stares trying to reach the mare, much to the little lizards dismay. “You’re here?! What? What are you doing here?” The Doctor Raised an eyebrow as he addressed Fleur. “Do you two know each other?” Fleur looked towards the pony before shaking her head. “Oh…I don’t think its anything like that. You have to remember that…well…I am quite well known around Equestria.” The Doctor’s eyes widened as realization hit him. “Oh! Ooooohhh! That’s right! You’re a fashion model if what you told me was correct.” “Not just any fashion model, “THE” fashion model of Equestia. The only other pony’s who has their faces in the magazine more than her is the Princesses themselves.” The black pony gushed before getting smacked upside the head by the purple being that rode him. “Ow! Spike! Your claws!” “Thunderlane, focus!” Spike scolded. “Twilight needs that book that Zacora has back at her house in the Everfree. Besides what would Twilight say if she saw you fawning over another mare like this?” The stallion scratched the back of his head before blushing brightly. “Oh! I…She’s just…well…really, really famous. Sorry Spike.” “A book in the Everfree you say?” The Doctor said as he smiled towards them. “Well it just so happens that you and I are after the same thing. I’m looking for a way to stop this once and for all.” Spike rose an eyebrow. “And…you are who again.” The Doctor smiled before reaching into his coat pocket and pulling out his physic paper. “Agent Smith! Clock Smith as it were.” Spike’s eyes widened as he stared at the paper the Doctor produced to them. “You were personally sent by the princess? No way!” Thunderlane stared at the paper for a long while before pulling away and nodded. “Yes…It is.” He said before smiling. “Anyhoof, we need to get going but…” He looked up stares. “I would like it better is somepony is watching Twi.” He looked towards Spike. “And since he wants to go to how about you stay here with Twi while I go with this stallion.” Spike raised an eyebrow. “Well…Ok. But are you sure?” Thunderlane nodded before lowering himself so that Spike could drop off. “Yeah. He is one of Canterlot’s finest, so says the paper. I’ll be just fine.” Thunderlane strolled past the doctor, making his way out the door. As soon as he left, the Doctor looked towards Fleur. “You stay here to Miss Fleur.” He raised a hoof to stop any complaints she could say. “I need you here as a just in case measure. You’re the only pony I trust with this.” He reached into his pocket pulling something out. Pulling her hoof close, he placed something within it. When she retracted her hoof she saw that he had given her a small key. She gave him a questioning glance. “It’s the key to my most favorite thing in the world. If you find yourself in trouble, go there. Don’t move. I’ll save you.” He said before turning to run after the black stallion. “Right! To Adventure!!” ~ Upstairs a lavender unicorn perked up, the sound of a voice downstairs making her heart nearly skip a beat. Despite the tired bags under her eyes, a fire lit within her soul, one that she was sure had been nothing but a dream from a long time ago. A flame that she was sure had been nothing but a dream. “Doctor?” Chapter TwoDoctor Whooves And Fleur De Lis in The Nightmare Hunting Ponyville,12th of Summer1001 C.R. The Doctor was in, what Fleur had unofficially dubbed, full giddy mode, running about here and there as she kept pace with him. She watched as the Timelord waved happily to anypony and everypony he could see, and even some that Fleur she couldn’t. She couldn’t help but smile at the stallion that was so full of energy, though she did wish he would act his age. Another odd trait of his is that he shot so many odd questions her way. Questions that a foal would ask its mother. She found it slightly annoying, though she could see why he would. He was a time traveling alien from another world after all. She shook her head in disbelief. “Never thought that I would be thinking that sentence let along saying it out loud…” Still that didn’t stop the mare from keeping an annoyed expression though out most of the walk. She strolled up to the Doctor just as he finished examining a brown stick. “Do you have to keep garnering attention towards us Doctor?” She snapped quietly. “I would rather not have somepony recognize me. It may have been awhile since I’ve modeled but I’m sure somepony is bound to know who I am, coupled with the fact that you’re acting like a two year old on its first outing.” And I would rather not deal with that can of peaches if I can avoid it. The Doctor stopped his examination of a small little pebble and turned to face the mare. “Yes you did say that you were famous back in Cantaloupe-“ “Canterlot.” Fleur Corrected. “-Canterlot didn’t you.” The Doctor smiled brightly, not missing a beat. “So you were a model eh? A really good friend of mine was a model as well, that is before her, her husband, and I got abducted by some very nasty aliens.” When he saw Fleur’s questioning glace he coughed in his hoof. “Long story I’ll tell you about it later.” He smiled again. “You’re gonna love it too. It’s a doozy!” Fleur Tilted her head to the side. “So you’ve traveled with ponies before?” “Yes. Well no. Not ponies. People. But to answer your question I have traveled with others before. Been doing it for quite a few years now. You however are the first pony to travel with me so you should count yourself lucky.” He said with a smug grin. “Me? I think you’re the lucky one Doctor, traveling with a mare such as myself.” Fleur retorted quick as a whip. “Though as far as alien stallions go, I am sure you are not the…worst company to keep.” “I’ll take that as a compliment!” The Doctor exclaimed, puffing out his chest proudly. “By the way Miss Fleur, where are we going? As fun as this town seems to be, it looks rather…Well…no offence…boring.” “Weren’t you just jumping up and down with glee upon arriving here?” Fluer inquired with a raised eyebrow. “Yes. But now I’m not. Do try to keep up Miss Fleur.” The Doctor ignored the groan of frustration that Fleur released, opting to look to his side, one of his own eyebrows raising. The mare, finding that the Doctor had stopped, turned to look back at him, standing a ways away. “Is something wrong Doctor?” “Hmm?” The Doctor, started from his thoughts, looked towards Fleur and gave her a wide smile. “Oh! No, I’m fine. Let’s keep going.” The Mare nodded before taking the lead, guiding the Doctor to their destination. As she did so, the Doctor looked back towards the Dark alley way he had just been looking at before, his brow slightly furrowing. “Hmm…” With one final look the Doctor turned to follow after his companion. As he did so a pair of yellow eyes illuminated in the darkness before blinking out of sight. ~ The Doctor looked upon the building with equal wonder and equal inquiry. He was in fact staring at a boutique that was in the shape of a carousel. It was a blue and purple two story house with gold trimming designed like a carousel and even had a few horses decorating the sides of the balcony. The Doctor tilted his head to one side, and then to the other, examining the building. When he was done he looked over towards the mare white mare that was standing beside him. “Well…And this place is called what again?” “Carousel Boutique Doctor.” Fleur answered with a smile. “That’s what I thought you said.” The Doctor responded, shaking his head. “I swear, you ponies and your need for pony type references.” Fleur rolled her eyes before making her way to the door. “Just follow me Doctor. And…Don’t touch anything. I don’t want to have to spend more bits then I have to.” Her only response was a eye roll and a “Whatever you say Miss Fleur,” before entering into the building. As they entered however, both ponies gasped in shock at the disheveled appearance of the inside of the sparkly clean building. Manikins, or rather ponikins in this case, where lying about, strolled across the floor in a lazy manner. Clothes of every sort hug from rafters and draws. The place, itself, didn’t look as though it’s been clean for weeks. The Doctor turned to his companion, his eyebrow rising slightly. “So…I don’t think I have to worry about breaking something then, right?” He asked her in a non-mocking tone. Fleur frowned at the stallion’s statement before making her way deeper into the cesspool of fashion monstrosity that was currently going on inside Carousel Boutique. “This isn’t right.” Fluer said in a worried tone. “Miss Rarity is usually more…well…refined this this.” She made her way to the counter and rung the bell gently. “Hello? Miss Rarity? It is I Fleur Di Lis. Are you in?” The sound of shuffling and something braking caused both stallion and mare to look towards their left. “Oh! Oh my! I’m so sorry Miss Fleur! I didn’t know it was you,” said a slurred, yet refined feminine voice, from behind a changing curtain. Out popped a snow white unicorn mare. Her curly purple mane, while styled nicely, looked like it had seen better days, as did her sagged bloodshot eyes she cast towards her guest. She half walked half stumbled towards the Fleur and The Doctor, the glasses that was perched upon her face, slightly askew. “Well come to Carousel Boutique, where…where…” She yawned loudly, covering her mouth with a hoof, before shaking her head. “I…I’m sorry dears, I’ve been not feeling myself lately.” She swayed a bit, threating to fall over but was caught by Fleur before she could, the mare’s magic holding up the slightly dazed unicorn. “oh…I…I so sorry…” “Miss Rarity.” Fleur said after helping Rarity to the couch nearby. “Have you been up all night?” Rarity looked away. “W-well yes, not only for my sake but for my sisters…” “Why?” The Doctor said looking the mare over. “Did something happen to your sister?” The white mare looked away as tears began to form in her eyes as she spoke, her voice choking slightly as she spoke. “Well…she’s been having the same horrible nightmare for the past few days…Dreadfully terrible…” She paused before speaking. “We…We all have…” “We?” The Doctor interrupted raising an eyebrow. “We as in more than just your sister, I guessing.” Rarity nodded before continuing. “My sister. Me. All of Ponyville even…or…at least the unicorns of Ponyville have.” Fleur’s eyes raised to her horn before casting a worried glance towards the Doctor. “J…just the unicorns?” Fluer said worriedly. Rarity nodded before looking towards Fleur. Her eyes widened before shaking her head. “D-Don’t worry…As far as we know it’s only happening to the residents of Ponyville. All outsiders aren’t experiencing the dreams what so ever. Fluer still felt bad but, a noticeable sigh of relief escaped her held breath. The Doctor coughed into his hoof and stood in the forefront of the mare. “Please…If you can continue Miss Rarity...” She nodded weakly as she did. “We all have been having the same horrid nightmare. One where we are being chased by…by a creature. A hellish creature that seemed to have come from the netherworld itself…” She held herself, wrapping her hooves around her forarms tightly. “Sweetie Belle can’t sleep…or…she won’t sleep because of it. And when she does, her screams…dear Celestia her screams…” Fluer’s ears drooped. “Does Celestia know about this? Or Luna?” “That’s just it…” Rairity said shaking her head. “Some say its Luna’s doing, regressing back to the way she was before she was free of her darkness…” “Hmm? What do you mean by that Miss Rarity?” The Doctor said tapping a hoof to his chin. Rarity was about to answer but was beaten to the punch by Fleur. “The Story of Nightmare Moon. It was an old pony’s tale passed down from pony to pony for over one thousand years. At least it was until she appeared not too long ago in Ponyville.” Rarity nodded as she took over. “Yes…it was me and my friends that stopped her reign of darkness by using the Elements of Harmony.” “Oh! Now this sound interesting. What are the…” A scream shot through their ears as the, the sound coming form upstairs. Rarity got to her hooves, a look of terror forming on her face. “Oh no! Sweetie Belle!!” She ran towards the stair way, the Doctor and Fleur following behind her. Upon reaching the top of the stairs all three ponies reached the end of the hallway, busting into a closed door to find a off white filly thrashing about on the ground, her diluted purple and pink mane just as just as frazzled as Rarity’s, maybe even more so. Tears streamed down her face as she began to wiggle and squrem on the ground, another scream escaping her mouth in protest to whatever it was that was happening to her. Before Rarity could run to her sister’s side, the Doctor shot past her, propping the fillies head with one forehoof before leaning over and resting his forehead against his own. Rarity was about to pull him off the little mare but was stopped by Fleur. “Don’t…he’s going to help her…I…I hope…” Rarity looked toward Fleur before turning back to the Doctor and her sister. The Doctor grimaced as he held his head to the little filly’s own, speaking every so often. “Don’t be afraid…I’m here…I’m here to help…just keep running…don’t stop…Don’t you touch her…Don’t you dear…” he spoke ever so often. In a few short minuets the filly began to calm here self her breathing becoming steadier, becoming slow long breath, a sign that she was sleeping peacefully. The Doctor broke his contact, a loud gasp escaping him mouth at the breath he had held. “Not good…not good…” He said softly. Fleur made her way towards the stallion, a look of concern forming onto her face. “Doctor…?” The Doctor turned away from them as he spoke in a low but clear voice. "I need to do a little research..."

“Doctor?”
Chapter TwoDoctor Whooves And Fleur De Lis in The Nightmare Hunting Ponyville,12th of Summer1001 C.R.
