Silver Spoon has lived in Diamond Tiara's shadow for so long that she's forgotten what it's like to have a real friend. A disturbing dream made real has consequences far beyond what she would have initially imagined.

*Chapters 1 and 2 Have been re-written and edited heavily for tone and pacing issues. They still follow the same plot, but the details are different. In some cases, vastly so.*


Silver Spoon has been outshone and outclassed by Diamond Tiara since she got her cutie mark, but that's okay because they're still friends, right? Their cutie marks mark them as super special friends. When she wakes up after a nightmare to find her cutie mark gone, panic sets in.

This is a tale about growing up and rediscovering one's true talent in life. Follow Silver Spoon as she deals with loss, makes a choice to change her life, and accept that all choices have consequences.

She will need to discover what she's forgotten, but she won't be able to do it alone. Everypony needs somepony else, and Silver Spoon will also need to make new friends and realize what they mean to her.

Will she remember what it was that made her talent so different that she wasn't able to fully understand it as a younger filly? How is the Guardian of Dreams connected to all of this, and why? And what's Discord been up to with a shiny new silver spoon?

Updated tags since I realize that the opening scene isn't so much dark as it is sad and there are more scenes so far of emotional of emotional stress than I had initially planned. One of those "It didn't work out as I initially planned" things. I think it's better for the change, though.[/size]
