Having a Butter Time Part One
*Knockknockknockknock*
The sound of a hoof hitting the wooden barrier of that belonged to Butterscotch’s cottage door would pull the stallion from his restful respite after a long day of animal caring. The butter-yellow pegasus stallion, after gently setting down his book, would make his way to the door, opening carefully as he did so. A tentative cerulean eye would peek from the crevasse of a gape that he made before opening it wide, a gentle smile playing upon his features.
“Oh, Twilight,” The stallion mused, giving a gentle nod to his alicorn friend as he did so. A hoof absentmindedly brushing a bit of his soft pink mane from in front of his eyes, an action that caused him to get a better look at the mare in front of him.
If, he was being honest with himself, Butterscotch would not hesitate to take the time to admire the mare that hand caused his whole would to turn upside down. Equestria’s newest alicorn, Twilight Sparkle was more than just a sight to behold for any pony’s gaze. Her soft lavender fur and her purple and pink-striped mane was enough to make any stallion swoon over her. Add that to the fact that she was incredibly smart and you would have a pony any mare would want to be and any stallion would want to be with.
Of course Butterscotch was never one to really be too honest with himself so all he could muster to say within his mind was that she was pretty.
Turning his attention back to his lavender friend, the stallion would give her a quizzical look. “I wasn’t expecting you to visit today, or rather, at all. Aren’t you supposed to be with the rest of the girls at a slumber party?”
That was true of course. Twilight and the rest of his mares that are friends would get together at least once every other week for a slumber party to catch up. Butterscotch, being the stallion that he was, was of course, decline their invitation to come with them. “It’s not like he doesn’t want to spend time with the girls, in fact he loved hanging out with all of his friends. It’s just…The last time he was invited to a slumber party was when he was a colt and, of course, he had found out that it was an all-girls slumber party the day he came and had decided that he needed to cut his mane for the rest of that school year…and explicitly tell every pony he met that he was a stallion.
He had a very awkward foal hood that year .
“Yeah sure…” The purple alicorn mare answered as she looked behind herself. “Listen…Butterscotch, can I come inside for a bit? I need to talk to you about…something.”
The stallion’s quizzical gaze turned into one of worry as he stepped aside, allowing his friend to enter. “Sure Twilight. Is something going on? I’m not sure how much help I can be but I’ll try and do my best.”
Twilight rounded on the stallion, her teeth biting her bottle lip hard. “I…Well…Ya see…It’s…” Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, the mare would slowly try to calm herself down from her jumpy state. “Butterscotch…I need your help…For science...Stuff of course. So…This may be a bit sudden, but try not to…um…Be mad okay?”
Before the stallion could even asked what the heck the mare was even going on about, his eyes would be assaulted with a flash of white, blinding him completely. In the span of a second he would feel soft lips pressing firmly into his own. He would have fought back against the onslaught of the rather inexperienced kiss…BUUUUUUUUUUTTTT…He was a stallion at heart. A very sensitive, shy, and kind of emotionally damaged stallion, but a stallion Celestia damn-it! And he had to admit, the kiss was more than a little nice.
Ever so gently, he would push into the mare, softly forcing the kiss to become just a little bit deeper. He cooed softly at the sensation of his lips against the mare’s own, his eyes closing slightly as he felt like he was drinking in the very essence of the mare before him.
Soon, after a full ten seconds of the rather intense make-out session, Twilight would pull away from Butterscotch, her cheeks burning just as brightly as his own and her breath seemingly token by. After a long while, the mare would look away from her thoroughly confused friend.
“Sorry…Sorry…I…ah…Well…”
Butterscotch raised a shakey hoof, silencing her on the spot. Slowly but surely, the stallion found his voice again, but could only mutter two words. “O-Okay…What?”
“Well…Aha-ha…” Twilight began, scratching the back of her head. “First let me tell you how sorry I am about doing…Well…That…Ah…”
“K-Kiss?” The stallion offered.
“Yes! That! That Kiss.” Twilight gave another nervous chuckle. “It was…Well…How do I really explain this…It was a dare?”
“A…Dare?” Butterscotch asked. “And not science?”
“Yes…A dare…” Twilight squeaked. “And not science…”
“And…The dare was to…Kiss me, Right?”
The mare lowered her head as she nodded slowly.
“Okay…Um…” Butterscotch ran a hoof over his foreleg, rubbing it gently. “Why?”
Twilight Sparkle blushed deeply as she gave an exasperated sigh. “Well, ya see, we were talking and everything, ya know, doing what we usually do on one of our get-togethers. Then…” The lavender mare scratched her cheek as she looked away. “Rainbow brought of the subject of colts, and I may have made a slight off hoofed comment about thinking that you were kinda…Cute?”
“Uhm…” Butterscotch’s eyes went rather wide as he soaked in the information that Twilight had provided. The slightest twitch of his wings causing him to blush even deeper. “You…Think I’m…Cute?”
“Well…Yeah…” Twilight admitted. “I mean, pink and yellow kinda suits you.” She gave off a nervous giggle. “But I bet you hear that all the time right. From stallions?”
“Yeah well…I’m…” Butterscotch paused. “Wait…Stallions?” He would ask with a tilt of his head. “Why would stallions think I’m cute?”
Twilight blinked. “Well…Ya know...”
“No…I don’t…” Butterscotch recounted, still quite confused.
Twilight blinked again. “Cause you like stallions?”
Butterscotch ran what she had said though his mind, the old gears slowly, but surely, working to understand what she had meant by such words. It didn’t take long for him to process exactly it was that she was, indeed, implying.
“No…Nonononono…No…NO!” The butter-yellow stallion shook his head wildly. “I…I’m not…I mean…I like mares Twilight! Nothing against stallions that are…But…But I’m not!”
“B…But…You…Like mares?” Twilight blanched. “I thought you…But you…You like going to the spa with Rarity all the time!”
“It’s relaxing!” He told her. “And the spa mares are nice…And Kinda cute…”
“I saw you wearing a dress in Rarity’s boutique!”
“It was for one of her clients!” He said with a deep blush before looking away. “She and I kinda had the same body type…”
“B…But…Applejack told me that she heard grunting and groining coming from the barn one day. Two voices! Yours and Big Mac’s!”
“What!? H-He’s helping me toughen up with weight training upon my request.” Butterscotch Squeaked. “I asked him to be my spotter! Nearly dropped the weights on my neck a few times when I was alone…”
Twilight’s mind went wild at his worlds. “A…Are you sure you’re not just…A little…”
“Twilight,” Butterscotch said firmly. “I like mares, Twilight. I really do…”
Twilight sat on her hunches. “Huh…”
Butterscotch did the same, his mind racing just as fast as Twilight’s and his blush brightening all the more.
“So you’re not gay?”
“No…”
“And I was dared to kiss you because the others think you are?”
“If…Um…That’s what happened, then yeah.”
“Oh dear Celestia…” Twilight squeaked as she looked towards her friend. “I’m so, so, so sorry Butterscotch. From all of our friends. We all kinda assumed that you were.”
“Wow.” Butterscotch said as he looked towards Twilight. “Even Rainbow?”
“She’s the one that gave me the dare for that very reason.”
Et to Dashy? Butterscotch thought as he hung his head down.
Really thought, if he had to really think about it, she was kinda right. He never really gave off any hints that he wasn’t into stallions. In fact, thinking over what Twilight had told him, everything that he does from day to day would add to anypony’s theory that he may very well have been into stallions.
“Buck my life…” Butterscotch said as he let a hoof slowly drag down his face.
“W-Well…” Twilight bit her bottom lip once again, shifting from one forehoof to the other nervously as she did so. “I…Ah…I did like the kiss…”
“Huh?” Butterscotch looked up from his self-loathing at the mare’s words. “
“I said you were a great kisser…” The lavender mare said, blushing a deeper shade of red. “I’m sure any mare would be happy to kiss you…”
“O-Oh…” Butterscotch’s cheeks turned a deep shade of pink. “Well…Ah…Thanks. It was really my first so…”
“Y-Yours’s too?” Twilight asked with a bit too much giddiness in her voice. “I-I mean, wow…You really are good though…not that I have a reference or anything cause it was my first too. It felt nice, so that has to count for something, right?”
“Yeah. O-Of course.” Butterscotch agreed as his gaze shifted anywhere but to the mare, his wings still very much twitching in excitement.
The two were quite for a long while, neither saying or trying to start a conversation.
“So…” Twilight spoke up, her hooves tapping together as she spoke. “Since…Well…Since it was both of our first kiss, do you think that…Um…We should do it…again?” The lavender mare blushed deeply as Butterscotch stared at the mare in disbelief. “Don’t get me wrong! It is…Ah…F-For, ya know…Ah…Scientific purposes of course.”
“Oh…W-Well…I guess we can.” He said as he lowered his head. His mane hiding the smile that was trying to creep up upon his face. “I mean, I don’t mind kissing you…For your science.”
“Good.” Twilight said as she nodded. Carefully, the mare would move closer. “Okay…Um…How should we start? I mean…This will be both of our second kiss and I would think that it should-Uffm!”
The mare was silenced as the slightly ever so eager Fluttershy locked his lips against her own. She epped softly before slowly sinking deeper into the kiss, placing both of her forehooves onto either side of his cheek as she did so, pulling him just a little bit closer.
Butterscotch wasn't sure what had taken him over when he had been so forward with Twilight, and neither had he expected Twilight to be so accepting of that fact, but he was glad it had. He could taste a hint of strawberry as he kissed her soft lips passionately. He could hear her quiet moans, could feel them in his mouth. Her kiss was like nothing he had ever felt before.
The pair soon put their hooves around each other, pulling themselves closer into an embrace as they continued their science experiment. With their lips connected, they allowed their tongues to move in to explore the other pony’s mouth, surprisingly, the shy stallion fighting for dominance and the lavender princess submitting to his advances.
Soon enough, for the need of oxygen, the pair broke the kiss, looking into each other’s eyes as they did so, both panting hand, both cheeks burning with embarrassment, and excitement.
“W…Wow…” Butterscotch cooed. “I…Ah…You’re the smart one…Was that…Ah…Good?”
“Like you wouldn’t believe…” The mare mused before leaning in to peck his lips once more. “I…really think that was a good study session.”
“Good…Ah…Glad I could help.” The stallion told her, a soft chuckle escaping him. “Um…So…I think you have…A party to get back to…Right?”
“Oh…Yes…I…Should get back to it.” The mare said as she pulled herself away from the stallion reluctantly. “Before they get worried and what not.”
“Yeah. Um...” The butter yellow stallion bit his bottom lip before closing his eyes, releasing a deep breath, and saying. “Maybe…we can try the kissing again…Some other time?”
Twilight displayed a near giddy smile as she backed towards the door. “Yeah! Uh…We sure can do some more…Kissing again. For science of course.”
“Yeah…For…Science.” He repeated with a dreamy gaze of his own. “I’ll see ya later then, Twilight?”
The lavender mare eyes became half lidded as she began to close the door to Butterscotch’s cottage. “Count on it.”
