Maud Pie had left the dinner table early that night. The weather outside had been storming for the entire day, forcing the Pie family to retire in the afternoon, and a dark feeling had been unsettling the mare ever since she woke up that morning. Like something was wrong, but nothing seemed out of place. Like somepony was watching her, but nopony was there… Yet she still had that feeling…
Looking at her clock, Maud found that it was almost midnight. She sighed, and climbed out of her bed. Her family were all likely asleep, but Maud was wide-awake. She just couldn't shake off her fears and concerns. She looked outside of her window, just as a bolt of lightning flashed. As the light faded, two figures stood in the window's reflection: Maud, and a cloaked pony of blue fur.
Maud froze. She didn't turn around immediately, for fear that her eyes were merely playing tricks on her. Her ears would have to back them up. "… You came back?"
"I did."
Maud held her breath. She wasn't expecting a response. "I see," was all that she was able to say. "… Did you visit Ponyville?"
"Not yet."
Maud released her breath. 'Not yet' implied that she was planning to. "The farm is out-of-the-way to Ponyville."
"… I'm sorry, Maud." Maud heard hoofsteps drawing closer behind her, and she finally turned around the face Trixie directly. "I didn't mean to make you worry about me-"
"I wasn't worried," Maud interrupted. "You can take care of yourself. I just… didn't think you'd be coming back. You said that you couldn't, after all."
"Well, that was the old me." Trixie pulled back her hood, revealing her usual blue face, with her usual silver mane, with her… unusual red eyes, glowing in the same manner as the trinket around her neck. "The me that was weak and afraid, but I have no reason to be anymore. I have power now. The power to make things right."
Maud reached towards the strange amulet, but her hoof stopped midway as she felt something harsh and cold emanating from the jewel inside of it. "I thought you already had power."
"Not power like this." Trixie grinned and raised her hoof, materialising a bowl of hot stew and offering it to the mare. "The power to make fantasy a reality, and blur the line between the two worlds."
Maud tilted her head as her stomach rumbled. She accepted the stew and looked into it for several seconds. "I thought that that was what you already did. Illusions."
"Only this is real." Trixie created a spoon in the air and scooped up some of the stew, offering it to Maud. The mare wrapped her mouth around the spoon's head and swallowed the stew, her eyes widening as it slid down her throat. "I created this from nothing, and that's only the start."
Maud placed the stew down on her bedside table to save it for later. "I see… What do you intend to do now?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Trixie asked as she flicked her mane. "There is somepony who has wronged me. Somepony who must be put into her place."
Maud turned to Trixie and shook her head. "With this much power, do you really need to prove yourself to anypony?"
"Of course I do," Trixie replied. "I need to prove it to the world, and to myself. But most importantly, I must make an example of anypony who dares to look down on me!"
"So, what do you plan to do?"
"Simple. I will best Twilight Sparkle, and then, just as she took from me my entire life, so shall I take away hers!"
Maud took a step back. "You're going to kill her."
Trixie chuckled, grasping her chest as she tried to regain herself for several seconds, finally calming down after a full minute and catching her breath. "No, no, Maud. Killing her would do no good. No, she must know what it is to suffer." Trixie's eyes glowed again. "To have her entire life taken away from her. Everything that she loves just dangling before her very eyes, and knowing that she is powerless to take it!"
Maud frowned and looked down to the floor. "And what if I… asked you not to do that?"
Trixie shook her head. "I'm afraid that's no good, Maud. I now have the power to take what I want – I will use it, naturally." Trixie stepped closer and placed a hoof under Maud's chin, bringing her head up to make contact with her eyes. "But that's only the beginning. Once I have made her suffer enough, I will then force her to be my slave for the rest of our lives."
"Why?"
"Why not?" Trixie asked. "She'd make a cute maid. After that, I can go to Manehatten and take over any business I want. Heck, all of them! That way, we'd never be short on money and subjects. After that, Horseshoe Bay, so that we can control the shipments into and out of Equestria!"
"'We'?"
"Of course, Maud. Naturally, our conquest would end when I have defeated and banished the princesses, and claimed the throne for the two of us!" Trixie kissed Maud, keeping their lips locked for a few seconds before pulling away. "There, we will be married, and you shall rule as my queen over the entire kingdom! We will finally be at the top, with everything we could ever want!"
Maud lowered Trixie's hoof. "But I don't want all of that, nor do I need it. I'm happy here."
"No you're not," Trixie said with a scowl. "You've just never been given a taste of true power before!"
"Trixie, what if all I wanted, was to travel Equestria with you? To spend the rest of our lives together, not as rulers, but as simple lovers."
"Why do that when we can spend our lives together in a castle, with slaves at our beck-and-call?"
"'Slaves'?"
"Servants."
"… What if I was loyal to the Royal Sisters' rule?" Maud asked. "What if I was against a hostile takeover?"
"Then you'd change your mind. For love."
Maud shook her head, and turned her gaze to Trixie's amulet. It glowed again, and she heard Trixie chuckle. "You… This isn't you…"
"Of course it's me. Every last great and powerful fibre."
"No. It's this amulet." Maud thrust her foreleg forwards, grasping the amulet and pulling with all of her might. But, the trinket would not budge. She gasped as she felt a magical force push her back against the wall.
"What are you doing?" Trixie asked, glaring into Maud's eyes as she inched closer to the startled mare. "Are you trying to betray me, Maud? To take away my powers? Make me weak and helpless again?"
"Trixie, I-"
"HUSH HUSH, hush… I know what you want… You want me to be, that frightened, uncertain mare who could never decide whether she wanted revenge, or solitude. You want somepony to comfort, to hold against your chest so that you can feel like you're in control.
"But guess what? You're not in control, anymore. I am! And when I say that we're going to get married, and that you will rule as my queen over all of Equestria, and be happy by my side, that's exactly what's going to happen!"
"You're not you!" Maud cried, her heart starting to race.
"Oh yes I am! I'm more me than ever before, and you love me!"
"I love Trixie, not whoever I'm talking to right now!" Maud's mouth was silenced by yet another kiss. She hadn't realised it before, but Trixie's kiss was nothing like what she had felt on that night, that felt so long ago. There was no care, no emotion, no love… Just a beast claiming its property.
Trixie pulled away. "You love me."
"… There was nothing there," Maud challenged, prompting a confused look from Trixie. "Your kiss. It was like watching two terrible actors trying to emote some chemistry, but ultimately failing. I love Trixie, and she loves me. But there's no love between us."
Trixie grinded her teeth together and, before Maud could see the spell being cast, threw Maud onto the bed with her magic. Maud tried to move her legs, only to confirm that they had been restrained by the four red, glowing rings around them.
"You love me. I'll make you love me. I'll make you realise that you love me!"
Maud looked into Trixie's eyes, and gulped. The beast had claimed its property, and now sought to mark it. "… I won't fight back." Not that she could, but she had to stay strong. For the Trixie that still existed in there, somewhere in that warped mind. "I won't resist, but I won't enjoy it. Because it won't be with the one I love. It won't be with Trixie."
"You're stubborn, but I can break that." Trixie used her magic to make Maud's dress vanish, and then reached up to remove her cloak, letting it fall to the floor. She reached a hoof down to Maud's nether regions, wasting no time with foreplay. Maud was dry, and Trixie snarled. "Spread."
Maud obeyed after hesitating for a couple of seconds, slowly parting her legs so that Trixie had better access. Trixie started rubbing. It felt good, but only as good as rubbing it against a plastic object did. There was no love there, and even if her body liked it, her mind didn't.
Eventually, Maud was wet enough to satisfy Trixie. Trixie reached her hoof to Maud's mouth and commanded, "Open." Maud opened her mouth, allowing Trixie to push her hoof inside. She tasted herself on Trixie's hoof and gagged. "Taste good?"
Maud shook her head, but Trixie ignored it. Trixie's hoof pulled back, and Maud had a moment to breathe before Trixie started to reposition herself. She wrapped her leg around Maud's, and shifted herself so that their moist lips touched. Maud let out a low moan involuntarily.
"Don't hold it back. Let Trixie know how much you love this." Trixie moved her hips. She grinded herself against Maud, filling the room with the wet sounds of their sexes slapping together. "Say it," Trixie said. When Maud remained silent, she moved faster and harder. "Say it!"
"Say what?" Maud asked, gasping and panting as Trixie moved.
Trixie pinned down Maud's forehooves with her own, making no effort to be gentle. "Say that you love this!"

Trixie growled, and stopped for a moment to force her lips onto Maud's. She pulled back, a trail of saliva connecting their lips. "Say. It!"

Maud didn't say anything. She simply watched as Trixie pulled up her hood and walked towards the bedroom door.
"I'm leaving now. For Ponyville. But don't worry; as soon as I'm done there, I'll be back for you."
And with that promise lingering in the air, Trixie opened the door and left, closing it behind herself. Maud, now alone in her room and with her thoughts, simply slumped down onto her bed, tears falling down her face.
"Trixie, please come back," she said, pulling her covers over herself and curling up in her bed.
Trixie gazed out over the town of Ponyville, her mane blowing in the wind as she stood atop one of the cliffs just outside of the town. A firework went off, and she gazed down at her empty neck. The Alicorn Amulet was gone. The curse was lifted, and her soul was free. Free to remember all of the terrible things that she had done whilst under that amulet's curse.
A tear fell down her face. Her stomach churned, and her legs trembled as they rose up to cover her eyes.
"Oh Maud… What have I done?"
