Dragonfire ⚔️ Legends of The Five Knights🛡
The Boys' Beginning
Load Full StoryHello. My name is Featherweight. I'm currently an assistant journalist working for the New York Times, which means its my job to help the company to go around New York, catch some exclusives, and provide a scoop for the papers. I also happened to be best friends with some other boys about my age.
Their names are Button Mash, Rumble, Tender Taps, my cousin Pipsqueak, and our team leader, Spike Draco.
Button Mash has always been a kid at heart. Probably because he's spent so much time with video games, he's kinda crazy in the head. But he's still a good guy and is eager to look out for others. He's also got a major thing going with his Princess Peach: Sweetie Belle.
Rumble was a cool guy, the strong one of the group, actually. When he's on the field, whichever sports he plays in, he doesn't hold back. He's willing to give it all in order to win. But at the same time, Rumble's got a strong sense of honor, and always knows how to display a good sportsmanship. That's one reason why we like him a lot. Though, he and Button tend to clash each other from time to time.
Tender Taps the quiet type in our group. When it comes to performing on stage, the guy has a tendency to freeze up. But that never stops the fire of his passion to become a professional dancer.
My cousin Pipsqueak's name pretty much speaks for himself. But all I ask is don't laugh at him. He's been through a lot. His parents have died during an unfortunate flight accident across the North Atlantic Ocean. And if that's not bad enough, then it's the fact that he's been bullied nonstop by all the big kids at school for his short height, including girls. But despite that, you're all in for a big surprise to see just how brave and strong he is now.
And last, but not least, the guy who united us together. The man himself, Spike Draco. When we first met Spike, he was the new kid who just moved into our neighborhood. We can never forget him. He's a real bad ass fighter. He really puts the K in karate, and kick ass. He knows what is worth fighting for and what it means to stand for what is right. It also doesn't help the fact that he was secretly a dragon hero. Or in the Chinese native tongue - Lóng yīngxióng.
In fact, Spike is the reason why we called ourselves the Knights. Because Spike's not only our friend, but he's also our brother for life. And to show our admiration and our never-ending friendship for him, we banded together to become a group of dedicated fighters ready to support our brother whenever he needs it.
But it isn't just Spike. We the Knights also have stories of our own to share. Stories of adventures, action, and as the french would say, amour.
But first, let's start with the story that began our stories.
It was a hot summer day. A young Featherweight and Pipsqueak were out and about, on their way to their favorite fast food joint: Five Guys.
At the same time, a young Rumble was there, having himself a burger, after an argument over a rough soccer game he had with his older brother, Thunderlane, and his team.
"You did good, Rumble," Thunderlane complimented, patting the young athlete on the shoulder. "You did good."
"Yeah, whatever," Rumble muttered. They didn't win the game. Yet, they were still enjoying themselves to a toast for trying. Nevertheless, Rumble didn't feel any better.
"Rumble, it's just a game," Thunderlane tried to reason. "What matters is that you did your best."
"Well too bad my best wasn't enough to win the game. And if that's all I'm ever good at, then I'm never gonna make it big."
Thunderlane shook his head, "When are you going to understand, you can't win with that attitude?"
"And what's wrong with it?" Rumble asked. "I for one think my anger is what makes me stronger than you and all of our teams put together."
"Is that so?" Thunderlane frowned. "Well then, if you're so good, then why don't you just go to another table and eat? We don't need a sore loser eating with us."
"Fine! I don't need some so-called teammates holding me back!" Rumble spatted.
"Fine!"
"Fine!"
With a huff, Rumble left his brother's apartment to try and drown his anger at Five Guys. The athletic boy was sitting at a table, which just so happens to be where Button Mash was sitting, playing a game of Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga on his GBA(Game Boy Advance).
"Come on, come on!" Button grunted, struggling to get the timing right to perfect a bros. move in his game.
"Hey! Can you play any louder?" Rumble asked, annoyed by the gamer's antic. "I can still hear out of this one," Rumble pointed to his left ear. "Sheesh."
Button had a mischievous grin on his face, as he turned the volume of his GBA device, and held it close to Rumble, just as Luigi screamed, "WAAAAAAAHHH!!!"
"AAHH!!" Rumble screamed, further annoyed.
At the same time, Featherweight and Pipsqueak walked in and got in line, behind a boy whom they'd later learn was named Tender Taps.
All was going like clockwork, when a group of thuggish boys walked into the facility, and noticed Featherweight and Pipsqueak, "Well if it isn't Pipsqueak and Featherweight," The leading thug grinned. "I thought I told you boys never to come in here!"
"Um, isn't this a free country?" Featherweight asked. "I thought we're allowed to go-" Featherweight was interrupted when he was picked up by the scruff of his collar and was held up close to the leader's face.
"Let me be very clear to you, feathers," the bully began. "You're not allowed to go wherever you go, unless I say you're allowed to go!"
"Hey!" Rumble shouted, walking over and standing up to the bullies. "Why don't you guys pick on someone your own size?"
"Oh, yeah?" The leader asked, before he arrogantly lowered his face close to Rumble. "And what are you gonna do about it, huh? You know, you're asking for-" Rumble didn't let the leader finish his sentence, when he swung his fist, slugging the brute across the face, recoiling from the blow.
"Y'know, punching someone in the face is just asking for your hands to be splintered," Button criticized. "Try kicking them in the knee. I heard nowadays its more effective."
"Geez, thanks for telling," Rumble grumbled.
It wasn't long before the athletic boy to get picked up by the angry leader, who now sports a black eye, "Okay, punk! Now you're really going to get it!"
"Hey! Leave him alone!" Pipsqueak shouted, grabbing onto the brutish boy's arm, before he was aggressively shoved away, crashing into Featherweight, who crashed into Tender Taps, causing the boy to flip his tray in the air, sending his foods flying and splattering all over the bullies.
"Uh oh," Button Mash frowned, eyes widened, knowing what's going to happen next.
Featherweight got up, while being quick to apologize to Tender Taps, "Sorry. Didn't mean to-" Before long, the two boys were immediately picked up by the rest of the bullies, before they were all dragged outside for an unjustified pummeling, with Rumble and Pipsqueak sharing the fate.
Button Mash simply watched the four boys being dragged away, before his GBA was suddenly snatched out of his hands, "Hey! Give that back!" Button protested, as he was being held back by the bully's hand.
"Mario and Luigi?" The bully asked. "Not feeling like number one anymore, huh nerd?" The bully teased, before Button bit his finger. "AAHH!!" The boy screamed, dropping the GBA which Button quickly retrieved. The bully looked at the bite mark on his finger, before he scowled, "Okay boy!" He picked up the young nerd by the collar of his shirt. "You want to play rough? Let's play rough, outside with your friends!"
"Who? Those four?" Button asked. "I don't even know them!" He waved his hands defensively.
"Well you're about to now! And while you're all acquainted, you'll be getting a lesson in pain!"
Soon, the five boys were all taken to an alley where they were about to get beaten to a pulp, if not for the timely arrival of a certain green head kid, who was new in town. Needless to say, there was a fight, in which the bullies were sent running, while the green head stood victorious.
"Hey!" The boy greeted. "You guys okay?"
"Yeah!" Rumble replied first. "What you did back there. That was AWESOME!!!"
"Well, I can't let those jerks get away with it, can I?" The green head asked, to which the boys all shook their head in disagreement. "Name's Spike Draco. I'm new in town."
"Pleasure to meet ya, Spike!" Rumble greeted. "Name's Rumble."
"I'm Button Mash."
"Pipsqueak."
"Featherweight."
"Um....T-Tender Taps."
"Nice to meet you guys," Spike replied.
"Since that fateful, we've been stuck together ever since," Featherweight narrated.
"Except for the times when Spike had to go traveling around the world to learn some martial arts and stuff," Button pointed.
"....Yeah, that...." Featherweight replied.
"Of course, you already know our pal, Spike," Rumble began. "But now, it's time we share our own stories of adventures!"
"We even have our own theme song!" Button cheered.
