A Friendly Chat From A Friendly Touch

Previous Chapter

A week had went by since Eternal Flames had encountered Sombra and Chrysalis and their new changeling army.  So far, there haven't been any recent attacks after that one incident. Sunrise, along with Rarity's kids were finally relieved of their week of grounding and didn't hesitate to hang out at the club house their parents built for them. Sunrise Scorcher was chilling out in the pool upstairs and having a nice refreshing cup of fruit punch. Solar Flare was playing a game of poker with Gentle Breeze and Crystal Clarity was hanging out with Blazing Sparkle, along with the Pie triplets.

Clarity wasn't paying attention to them while they were conversing with each other and instead was losing herself in her own world. Sadly, her daydreaming was cut short when Blazing Sparkle nudged her shoulder.

"Clarity, is everything alright?" Blazing asked.

"Huh, what? Oh, yeah, I'm okay. I'm still just a bit shaken up after the changeling incident." Clarity responded.

"Are you sure you're not hiding the fact that you're crushing on one of the boys?" Chocolate Pie asked with a sly grin.

"Don't make me roast you alive. I still got daddy's dragon blood in me." Clarity says, blushing glaring at Chocolate.

"Oh, don't be such a frowny-wowny." Vanilla Pie added.

"Yeah, turn that frowny upside-downy!" Strawberry Pie implied.

Clarity and Blazing couldn't help but laugh at the Pie sisters with their way of making ponies smile.

"Like mother, like daughter." Blazing said.

"Hey, Sunrise, you got room for another in the pool?" asked Fusion Rainbolt. Sunrise looked behind him and looked at Fusion.

"Sure thing, bud. Plenty of room to go around!" Sunrise replied with a confident smile.

"Cool, let's hope you didn't pee in here." Fusion retorted as he jumped in.

"HEY, what's that suppose to--" Sunrise got cut off by the water splashing in his face. "Show off." he finished, unamused. Fusion raised his head out of the water and shook his head, splashing small droplets of water everywhere, even on the table where Sunrise and Gentle were playing poker on.

"HEY!!!" Gentle and Solar shouted.

"Will you watch where you're splashing, you idiot?! You got the cards all wet!" Solar shouted.

"Yeah, my dad just bought me this deck!" Gentle added.

The girls could clearly hear the guys quarreling upstairs and weren't the slightest bit surprised.

"Boys will be boys...right sis?" Mystical asked Clarity. She got no response so she spoke again. "Sis?" still nothing. Clarity was yet again lost in her own world. Finally, Mystical had nudged and shouted in Clarity's ear. "WAKE UP CLARITY!!!"

"OUCH!" Clarity backed away from the girls, rubbing her ear. "What the hay is wrong with you?! Can't a girl enjoy being lost in her own world for once in a while?" Mystical hung her head low, hearing her sister go off on her.

"I...I apologize, Clarity." Mystic gave her sister a sad look. Clarity took one look at her and calmed down.

"No...I'm sorry for snapping at you, sis. I've just been a bit on edge since last week. I'm gonna go upstairs and hang out by the pool so I can cool off a bit. You can join if you want." Clarity offered.

"And damage my beautiful mane with that chlorinated water? I think I'll pass." Mystical retorted. All the girls began to laugh.

"Like mother like daughter." Clarity chuckled. "Well, suit yourself, I'm going for a dip." With that said, Clarity went up the stairs to the second floor where the other guys were arguing, except Drago, who was sitting on stage, humming to himself. Whether she'd admit it or not, her younger brother had a natural talent for singing like his mother. She ran over to the pool where Sunrise Scorcher and Fusion Rainbolt were at and jumped in. "CANNONBALL!!!" she shouted before she landed with a big splash and water landing on the stallions in the pool  while they were in a headlock.

"WHOA!" Fusion shouted.

"I give that splash a 9 out of 10." Sunrise said. Clarity rose from underwater, spitting it on Sunrise's face. "HEY! Why'd you have to spit that nasty water in my face?"

"Because it tastes nasty." Clarity retorted.

"Oh har-har, very funny." Sunrise then splashed Clarity, making her splash back. "SPLASH FIGHT!!!!" he shouted. He and Clarity started splashing each other in the water silly. Sunrise took an early lead, but Clarity was no amateur. She had Sunrise on the ropes, as he felt like he was about to drown.

"Do you give up, Sunrise? There's no shame in admitting defeat!" Clarity said with a sly grin.

"NEVER!!! I....REFUSE...TO LOSE!!!" Sunrise struggled to breath with all the water splashing at his face. Just as he was about to pass out, he summoned up the last of his strength to create one last splash. "TAKE...THIS!!!" He thrusted his right forehoove in the water, making it land in Clarity's eyes and she gripped her eyes in pain, screaming.

"YOU MORON!!!" Clarity shouted in anger.

"Dude...run...now." Fusion implied.

"What?" Sunrise asked.

"Trust me, you don't want to witness the wrath of Berserker Clarity when she's this mad."

"Um..." Sunrise turned to Clarity who was looking right back at him with anger and spite in her red eyes. The chlorinated water had really stung her eyes good. She growled at Sunrise, ready to attack him. "Okay...I'm outta here!" Sunrise got out of the pool quickly and tried to make a run for it, but the slippery floor was making it almost impossible with him trying to sprint for it. In the end, he ended up losing his footing and landed on his face.

Clarity slowly got out of the pool with those raged-filled eyes. "Stay right where you are, you slimeball!" Clarity said. Sunrise could help himself when he let out a yell of terror.

"GET ME THE HECK OUTTA HERE!!!" Sunrise shouted as he ran down the stairs. The girls saw this and started giggling, seeing as how he was the one who angered Clarity. However, because of how he stayed in the water too long, he lost his balance and fell at the bottom of the stairs on his back. "Ouch. Why me?" He saw Clarity staring at him from the top floor, still fueled by anger.

Without any other words, she leaped from the top and had her claws reaching out to him with the intent to kill, even though she was only going to beat him to a pulp. All Sunrise could do was extend his hooves out to stop her at least a bit.

The gang from upstairs and downstairs witnessed this, along with something interesting that happened after Clarity pounced. Clarity had her lower waist held up by Sunrise's forehooves, making the upper part of her body lean towards his face. Slowly, her eyes began to go from anger to shock and surprise because she had her lips connecting with his. She and Sunrise began to blush. She backed away with a calmer type of anger.

"YOU JERK!" She shouted, running towards him and slap/slashed him in the face, leaving a nasty scratch mark on his face. "You're nothing but a despicable creep!" Clarity stormed out of the clubhouse without another word. Everypony in the clubhouse saw this and then looked towards Sunrise who was still speechless after what just happened.

"I...I'm just gonna...I'm going home." Sunrise said. He also left the clubhouse feeling a bit awkward and embarrassed. There was only one thing that broke the silence after he left.

"HAH! Clarity's got a boyfriend!" Drago shouted sing-songy.

"This is no laughing matter, Drago! You saw the way she reacted when he kissed her!" Mystical said.

"Now hang on just a dog gone sec, sugarcube. Clarity pounced at 'im first and kissed him first." Apple Core said.

"Just what is that suppose to mean, cowboy?" Angel Feathers asked in a mocking tone.

"Y'all tryin' to start somethin' with me? These ol' apple buckin' hinde legs ain't just fer show ya know! Normally, I don't fight girls, but if ya push me any further, Ah'll make an exception!"

"Whoa there, partner! Ya ot to control yer temper!" Brown Sugar said.

"A pony/dragon hybrid falling in love with a Rogue pony? That seems a bit weird, don'tcha think?" Ominous Tune asked. "I mean come on, the fact that my dad is married to two mares makes more sense."

"Dude, I think it's cool that she and him are in love." Sweet Tooth says.

"Hello, she's 12 years old! Mommy and daddy might not like the fact that she's in love!" Mystical said. "Am I right Solar?"

"Hey, don't drag me into this. I don't like getting involved with what my brother's doing. Whatever he does, I'm not having any part of it at all, he's gotten me into loads of trouble for the past 6 years." Solar replied.

"That's a bit harsh, don't you think?" Rain Dance implied. She then turned to face Solar from the bottom floor. "Do you remember the day when he fought off those bullies to protect you amd the fact that he gave you his own lunch for you to eat when you forgot yours? How many times has it been now? Pain in the flank or not, you owe him something."

"Wait, how does she know that? She's practically an only child." Strawberry Pie said.

"STRAWBERRY!" Apple Core shouted. "Whether she's an only child or not, she's like family to us. We're like brothers and sisters to her as well as her best friends."

Rain Dance was taken by Apple Core's kind words and blushed. "T-thanks, Apple."

"Don't mention it, sugarcube."

Rain Dance felt the urge to bury her crimson blushing face into her book.

At Carousel Boutique, Clarity was locked in her bedroom, her head buried into her pillow and her forehoof slamming onto her bed with a lot of pent-up stress.

"DARN YOU!!!" She shouted. "I should've strangled him when I had the chance! Although...his lips...they felt so...so warm." She shook her head at a rapid pace. "Get a hold of yourself, he started it when he splashed me! But he does have a lot of spunk. Not to mention the fact that he's actually kinda cute. AAH!!! THERE'S NOTHING CUTE ABOUT THAT WEIRDO!!!"

"Clarity? You okay in there?" Spike asked from behind the door.

"Yeah, daddy, I'm okay." Clarity replied.

"May I come in? Maybe we can talk it out with whatever's bothering you."

"Um...sure I guess." Clarity got out of her bed and unlocked her door, letting her dad walk in. They both sat on her bed and looked at each other face-to-face.

"Alright, little Clair-Clair, tell me what's on your mind." Spike gently put one of his claws on his daughter's shoulder.

"Daddy, I know you might already know this, but have you ever had mixed feelings for a special somepony whom you would love to death while at the same time despising them?"

"Well, there was this one mare who I met when I was just a baby dragon. She was the most beautiful pony I had ever met, both inside and out, but there were times when I didn't like the fact that she had a few crushes on certain stallions while growing up. But, when she got to know them, things didn't work out so well since they were either self-absorbed with themselves or had a crush on somepony else. One of them had a crush on Nurse Red Heart. She had a talk with her last stallion crush and eventually..."

"You married her?"

"That's right and in the process, we had you, your brother and your sister. We couldn't be more happier after that."

"Um, daddy. This might sound crazy, but...I...I'm in love."

Spike's eyes widened in surprise, hearing that his oldest daughter was crushing on somepony.

"I see. So who's the one who you have a crush?"

"It's...S-Sunrise...Scorcher."

Sunrise Scorcher was still walking back home with the thought of Clarity still in his mind. He felt frustrated with her after she left a slap/slash mark on his face as well as confused with this thumping in his chest. "Just what the hay is wrong with me? This ain't like me to just start thinking about Clarity like this. Am I crushing on her?" he asked himself. But then he shook his head. "Come on, why in the hay would I have a crush on anypony! I'm a fighter just like dad! Although, maybe I should consider giving love a shot. GAH, Sunrise, knock it off, you idiot! Don't start going soft on yourself right now! GAAAH, now this whole thing is giving me a headache!" Sunise calmed down and gave himself a sigh. "Maybe I should ask mom and dad if they can help me out with this."

Sunrise Scorcher finally made it back home. He opened the door to see his parents sitting on the couch going over tons of scheduled appointments for family therapy sessions. They looked and saw their son had come home early as well as the mark the slashes on the left side of his cheek. Sunset Shimmer couldn't help but gasp.

"Sunrise, who did that to you?!" Sunset asked.

"I'll give you a hint: She's Spike's daughter." Sunise replied.

"You mean Crystal Clarity?" Eternal asked.

"Bingo." Sunrise said, turning away, hiding his angered face.

"Do you want to talk about it upstairs? We hate to see our son like this." Sunset asked.

"Trust me, with all the nonsense happening earlier today, I'm gonna need both of you guys' help. So yes." Sunrise confirmed.

"Very well then, let's go upstairs." Eternal said. So they did just that. They headed upstairs and towards Sunrise's room. All of them sat on his bed, ready to listen.

"Alright son, now tell us everything." Eternal said.

Sunrise proceeded to tell his parents about what happened back at the clubhouse when they got off of school. He explained every little detail that went on. Finally he told them what happened with him and Clarity and what he told them, made Sunset's eyes become wide with shock and Eternal became speechless.

"Now you know." Sunrise says.

"Why would she do that when it clearly wasn't your fault?" Eternal asked.

"I don't know why, but we're going to have a big discussion on what that daughter of their's did. No pony hurts my sons and gets away with it without a proper punishment." Sunset says, with a crossed tone.

"Now, now, dear. Let's not be too hasty or we'll end up saying the wrong things." Eternal says, holding Sunset's hooves. "We'll just explain to Spike and Rarity what happened between our kids and then we'll find a solution on how to deal with it."

"Alright." Sunset said, more calm. "But I still don't approve of what she did to my baby."

"Mom, I'm not a baby anymore, I'm only 12 years old."

"We'll have plenty of time for teasing later, but right now we should talk Rarity and Spike." Eternal interrupted

"Yes, thank you, dad." Sunrise replied. He and his parents left the house shortly afterwards and walked to Carousel Boutique. Sunset was still a bit crossed with how Rarity's daughter assaulted her son. Eternal was also upset, but he knows that the fight that Clarity and Sunrise has could be solved by some friendly negotiations.

Back at the boutique, Clarity's younger siblings had just returned from the club house to enjoy some time away from the noise so Mystical could practice her singing with her mom. Drago was lying around on the couch in the living room. He had nothing to do other than wanting to hum to himself. Spike had finally finished his talk with Clarity and decided to head out. Rarity was downstairs with Mystical Gem, teaching her to be able to sing. She saw her husband about to leave and walked towards him.

"Going out to get some more jewels, my darling?" Rarity asked.

"That's right. I know you got a lot of orders stockpiled up so I'm gonna go see what I can dig up." Spike replied.

"Make sure you also leave some for our children. We know how much they love the taste of jewels like their darling father. Just be careful out there and come home safely."

"I will. Thank you, honey."

With a simple peck on the lips, Spike went out to go get the jewels. Rarity closed the door behind Spike and walked back to Mystical to continue their singing session. "Alright, deary, let's continue."

"Okay, mom." Mystical replied.

10 minutes went by and so far, Mystical was making great progress on her singing. Even her younger brother thought so after listening to her from the couch.

"As always, you've got the vocals, sis." Drago says in a laid back tone, but happy. This makes Mystical feel proud knowing that she was getting better and she ended up squeezing her little brother with a big hug.

"You little rascal, you!" Mystical replied, joyfully.

"C-c-can't breathe!" Drago struggled. Mystical let him go, making him gasp for air. "Being hugged to death is nice, but I'm not ready to kick the bucket yet, sis."

Before their arguement could go any further, there was a knock on the door.

"Mother, there's somepony at the door." Mystical said. Rarity immediately went over to the door and opened it up to see the King and Queen of the Guardians, Eternal Flames and Sunset Shimmer, along with their son, Sunrise Scorcher. From the look on Sunset's face, she wasn't exactly happy with whatever it was that was bothering her. Eternal Flames had a calm smile on his face, but she could feel that even he was just as upset as Sunset.

"Oh, Eternal, Sunset, so pleasant to see you both, including you, Sunri-- oh dear!" Rarity then saw that there were three straight claw marks on Sunrise's left cheek. "What happened to you?"

"That's actually why we're here, Rarity. Can we talk somewhere private?" Eternal asked.

"Oh, of course. Just hang on for a second. Mystical, Drago, could you get your older sister and go play somewhere? I need to have a private chat with your uncle Eternal and aunt Sunset." Rarity asked her kids.

"Gotcha!" Drago said.

"But of course, mom." Mystical said.

Both kids went upstairs and knocked on Clarity's door. She answered the door.

"Whatcha need." Clarity asked.

"Apparently, mom wants us to play somewhere while she talks with Eternal and Sunset. I'm guessing it has something to do with that nasty slash across Sunrise's face." Mystical gave her sister a sly smile, making her blush.

"Just keep your mouths quiet and get in." Clarity whispered, letting her brother and sister inside her room. She closed the door in front of her and ran and sat on her bed.

"So, how did your son get that scratch mark on her face?" Rarity asked.

"Sunrise told us that your daughter, Clarity had slapped him." Eternal said.

"She did WHAT?!"

Eternal Flames began to tell Rarity everything that Sunrise told him when he first came back from the clubhouse. Eternal Flames wanted to know why she'd do this. Even Sunset wanted to find out, especially since she felt like exploding. Rarity then called her kids to come downstairs and have a seat on the couch. They heard her and did as they were told. Rarity asked if her two other children if what Sunrise said was true so that she could find out if he was lying or not. Immediately.

"You kidding me? I saw the whole thing go down after a simple, friendly splash fight. She went Berserker Clarity all over the guy and had him running with his tail between his legs! I saw her pounce on him, ready to finish him off, but it looks like lover girl had some other plans and ended up in a lip lock with her new boyfriend! There's no doubt she gave him a slap/slash. It's as plain as day as the scratch marks on that left cheek of his!" Drago explains, like it was some sort of Daring Do story.

"Sadly, what Sunrise experienced and what my brother is blathering about is true." Mystical added.

"Thank you dearys for being honest. As for you young lady, we'll be having a long discussion about your actions from today, they're simply unforgivable, Clarity, dear." Rarity said, sternly.

"Yes, mom." Clarity said, looking down. She then gave a slight glare to Sunrise for ratting her out. Sunrise didn't notice her glaring at him and had an expression on his face similar to Maud Pie's.

"But first, I'd like you to apologize to Sunrise for hitting him."

Clarity kept blushing and turning away and Rarity kept nudging her forward. Clarity looked at Sunrise, blushing more furiously but finally managed to speak.

"I'm sorry I slapped you."

"Well, I'm over it now, but thanks." Sunrise replied.

"Good, now Clarity, I don't want to have to go through this again. What happened back at the club house was an accident and actions such as hitting others like that is not okay. Now until yourr father gets here to discuss a proper punishment, you are not to leave this house, do I make myself perfectly clear?"

"Yes, mom."

"Well, I'm glad we've settled this, Rarity, we appreciate your time." Eternal said.

"Oh, it was no problem, darling. Would you and Sunset like to stay a bit for some tea?"

"Sure, we still got some time before heading back to work. You okay with this, Sunset?"

"I suppose a cup of tea wouln't hurt. I'm in." Sunset replied with a smile.

"Alright then, while you guys are doing that, I'm gonna head home." Sunrise said, walking towards the door.

"Be careful when heading home, son." Eternal replied.

"You got it, dad."

With that said, Sunrise left. But while he was walking home, he was still curious of why he and Clarity ended up in a lip lock and why she was blushing so much, in fact, he was always blushing when he saw her.

"Whoa...hang on a sec...am I...in love? NO WAY, HOW DOES THAT EVEN WORK?! I can't be in love with somepony, I don't even know the fist thing about love!" Sunrise then began to feel a growl in his stomach. "Ugh, all this talk of love and romance is making me hungry and I need a good chili pepper and hay sandwich to calm my nerves."

As Sunrise picked up the pace heading home, he bumps into two ponies. One was an alicorn colt around Sunrise's age, he had a light blue spikey mane and purple eyes and white fur, his cutie mark was a cyan colored sword similar to the crystal heart's color in a star similar to his aunt Twilight Sparkle's cutie mark and her kids. The other alicorn was a teenage mare with light pink fur, purple mane with a light blue stripe and light blue eyes.

"Whoa, you alright there, bud?" asked the male alicorn.

"Yeah, I'm alright, thanks for asking." Sunrise said. He then got a good look at them and recognized one of them. "Whoa...I cannot believe it, is that you, Flurry Heart?!"

"That's me." Flurry giggled.

"I cannot believe how much you've grown! Who's this nice guy with you?"

"Oh, this is my little brother."

"Pleased to meet you, my name is Cyan Lance. But you can just call me Lance." said Lance.

"Sweet, pleased to meet ya, Lance." Sunrise walked over and shook hooves with him and Flurry Heart.

"So where are you heading off to, Sunrise?" Flurry asked.

"I'm heading home to get some food in my belly. So what brings you here to Ponyville?"

"Oh, mommy and daddy wanted me and my brother to enjoy a week here in Ponyville. Although, since we're not old enough to rent ourselves a place to stay, I was wondering if you're parents would be alright if we stayed at your house." Flurry explained.

"Well, they're at Rarity's house so I'll ask them when they get back. In the meantime, how about I cook up something for you and your brother, you must be hungry." Sunrise asked.

"I thought you'd never ask! The train travel here was a pain." Lance added.

"Well then, come along with me and I'll cook up a lean mean meal for you guys!" Sunrise exclaimed. He took them with him to where he lived at and to their surprise, the house was always the same. Even the inside remained unchanged after almost 13 years. Flurry and Lance took a seat on the couch. Sunrise walked into the kitchen preparing a nice meal for his guests. He made sure not to make anything too spicey since they weren't use to foods that burn their tongues.

Just as Sunrise was cooking, the front door opened at revealed his brother, Solar Flare. Lance took a look at him and waved, earning a wave back from Solar. Flurry, however, took one look at him and started blushing.

"Flurry? Is that you?" Solar asked.

"Oh...yes, that's me." Flurry replied.

"Pleased to meet you, I'm Cyan Lance, but just call me Lance." Lance said.

"Nice to meet you, Lance." Solar replied. He walked up and shook his hoof as well as Flurry. She smiled at him before he flew over to the kitchen and asked Sunrise something.

"Sunrise, who's the colt?" Flurry whispered, jestering Solar.

"That's my brother, Solar Flare. He's more of a thinker than a fighter. But he's a nice guy. Why you ask?"

"Well...he...he's kinda cute."

"If you think so, then why don't you go and tell him?"

"I don't know if he feels the same."

Sunrise then came up with a sneaky trick that he knew would benefit him and Flurry. "Well here's the thing." He signaled Flurry Heart to come closer to him so he could whisper something to her. "Solar Flare likes to play hard to get. Anytime he tries to push you away, it just means his feelings are that strong towards you. He likes to play it cool and sometimes act shy, but that just means he's really into you and if he asks you why you're doing this or who ave you this idea, tell him it's your intuition." he whispered.

"Really?" Flurry asked, earning a nod from Sunrise. "Oh thank you, Sunrise!" She then gave him a simple hug and flew towards Solar who was sitting on the couch with her brother. She took her seat next to Solar and sat really close to him.

Solar took a look at Flurry and saw her smiling at him. "Um...hi Solar." Solar said, smiling back nervously. 'Okay, what in the name of grandma Celestia is going on with her?' He thought to himself.

"You'll thank me later, Solar. Flurry is cute and all, but I have a feeling that I just don't see any reason to date her. Now let's see *sniff* ahh, the food smells pretty good." Sunrise said to himself.
