The Mysteryous Man

In the big city of Canterlot is where a big penthouse stands tall and strong.

The owners of this particular penthouse were a group of 10 girls who were once proud Canterlot High School students and former rivals now turned best friends. It has been three years since 7 of the girls graduated high school, but for the Dazzlings being expelled for a whole year, it had been two years since the Dazzlings graduated. Now as young adults, the girls have been working at one part time job each in order to cover their expenses for the penthouse.

Sunset Shimmer was the manager at the local Canterlot Cinemas. Twilight Sparkle works as an assisstant for the local Canterlot historian in the center of Canterlot City. Rainbow Dash worked as a local gym instructor for women who wanted to get in shape. Applejack had gotten a job at the supermarket where she'd constantly stock food supplies, including the ones her big brother brought over sometimes. Pinkie Pie is the manager at Sugar Cube Corner, taking over to the Cakes in case they weren't around. Fluttershy was a top ranked Zookeeper at the Canterlot City Zoo, caring for all the zoo animals as well as being a wonderful tour guide. Rarity was still working at the Carousel Boutique designing dresses that couldn't get any better than they already are.

As for the Dazzlings, Adagio Dazzle was the manager of a Karaoke bar during the night. Aria Blaze worked as a security guard at a local electronics store in downtown Canterlot. Sonata Dusk was working as the manager of a taco joint providing excellent advertisement and customer service to everyone who stopped by for a bite to eat.

When they were not working, they'd either be lazing around the house or taking a stroll around town to see what they could do to pass the time and ease their boredom.

As of right now, Sunset and Adagio were just coming out of the theatres and were headin on their way back to the penthouse. Sunset noticed that Adagio wouldn't stop giggling.

"Was the movie that funny, Adagio?" Sunset asked.

Sunset got her cellphone out and dialed the number of one of her friends. The phone rang 3 times until finally...

"Alright, Adagio and I will be sure to get everything on the list. Hang tough girls." Sunset said.

"Gotcha, partner. We'll be waitin' fer ya both back here at the penthouse. Later." Applejack said before hanging up. Sunset put her cell phone back in her purse and walked with Adagio to a couple of restaurants and picked up everything for the girls. Just in the nick of time, a blue 1997 Dodge Viper had parked on the sidewalk where the girls were. The driver door opened up and showed Rainbow Dash as she walked towards Sunset and Adagio. But she had a puzzled look on her face as she saw the girls carrying an unconcious young man.

Sunset and Adagio loaded the guy into the backseat of the Viper with a few struggles along the way. Rainbow loaded the food into the backseat as well but on the other side. Adagio sat in the front passenger seat and Rainbow got inside and started up the car, making the engine purr.

It took the girls 10 minutes to finally head back to the penthouse. Rainbow Dash had called the other girls right away after she parked her Viper in the garage with Rarity's purple 1998 Italdesign Nazca C2 and Sunset's red 1998 Chevy Corvette. All the girls went into the garage one by one and got the food out of the car, bringing it to the kitchen. Everything was unloaded, except for the guy stuck in the backseat, which Sunset had pulled out with a bit of a struggle.

"Why didn't you just call an ambulance?" Rarity asked, still plugging her nose.

Just then, they all heard a low groan. They all turned to see that the guy was waking up. He grunted in pain and lifted himself up to where he was sitting straight. He opened his eyes slowly, trying to adjust them to the brightness of the house lights. His eyes were a beautiful hazel type of color once fully opened.

The guy then placed his hand under his chin, trying to remember what his name was. Seconds later, he looked up. "Let's see, if my memory is accurate, I go by the name of Seth Brooks. Also I think I know that I'm 20 years old." he said.

"Do you know where you live or what happened to you?" Rarity asked. Seth took a moment to think it through carefully but shook his head left and right, not knowing where he lives or what happened.

"Yeah, I don't think it's safe to head outside in your condition." Twilight added.

Adagio added. "Now, even though me and the other sirens and Sunset look human, Sunset is still a unicorn in a human's body while me Aria and Sonata are sirens in a human's body. Also, this is an added bonus for you, since sirens and unicorns can't get impregnated by humans, even if we do look human."

"Are you getting any of this?" Sunset asked.

Seth was just speechless after they told him all of this. He gathered his thoughts together and finally spoke.

"Great, now I have to wait until he gets back before he and I can "get down to business." Aria said with her arms crossed.

Seth was out in the middle of Canterlot, trying to find out what kind of job he should apply for. He checked all of the office buldings, restaurants, hotels, and even the real estate agencies, but no luck. However, one by one, he always filled in the job applications at the door just in case any positions become available. Next, he was about to try a donut shop across the street, but he was then stopped by a speeding cop car as it sped past him. He managed to get out of the way before it hit him. Then all too quickly, he felt a jolt in his head as parts of his memories started coming back to him. He started remembering the day he once helped the cops catch criminals and the day he completed his DTI course after high school. He wondered if he could lend a little helping hand for the cops every now and then, but then all too quickly, he came up with another brilliant idea.

When he got close enough, one of the cops was about to stop him from going any further until

"Seth Brooks? Is that you? I though you were dead when I heard you got jumped!" one of the cops asked.

"I'm guessing you don't know what happened. Well, I'll let you in on the details of that later, come with me. We got ourselves a murder case and we might need ya."

"Alright then. Who's the victim?" Seth asked, walking towards the body.

"The victim's name is Timber Spruce, age 23, the poor guy was stabbed multiple times, I count 47 stab wounds. Whoever did this must've had a huge grudge on the poor guy." said the detective.

"Excellent. Then if necessary, let me give you my business card in case you need a hand."
