The boring Setup (Setup Chapter)
Despite the weird circumstances in which Diamond “Dazzling” Tiara had been brought upon the crystalline walls of the Crystal Empire, and the fact that she was faced with a not so positive task - and she shuddered as she thought of the weird material, which she hadn’t used since she was a foal in her saddlebags - assigned to her, she couldn’t help but gawk. It was really as pretty as everyone had told her it was, the northern lights reflecting on the buildings in a way that almost blinded her, she could detect every color of the rainbow in the reflections. Purple being her favorite. It was just as well that most of the streets were that color it was like they had planned.
Diamond Tiara would have liked to say she was simply admiring the streets as a tourist. That maybe the new Barnyard Bargains, the northern division had opened a store there, yet that had been lying. And as the taste of soap in her mouth was still well present in her mind - from when she had been caught lying, she had to face the truth. It wasn’t for that that she was present. Rather it was to make connections.
When her mother had told her that connections were the way for an upper pony, and that started there and went all over Equestria she really hadn’t expected this to be the case. Apparently Flurry Heart herself had picked her as her playmate, in between the fillies of Ponyville. Usually Diamond would be gloating, unable to stop herself on complementing the filly’s good taste, but she couldn’t, for she - faced with curiosity, had taken a look at the saddlebags her mother had trust upon her. There were diapers the, cloth ones, readily reused - The kind that Barnyard Bargain carried. She had been out of them for ages now, but more disturbing than she being sent to deliver nappies to royalty, as if the dozens she had seen them have in Ponyville weren’t enough, was the fact that the nappies, or diapers, whatever she wished to call them, seemed just her size. Diamond couldn’t help but gulp, wondering if they were going to be placed on her.
As soon as the royal guard identified her she was brough along hallways and alcoves in the castle, hushed around from maid to maid. From mare to stallion, she was pushed, always avoiding the main halls she had heard Sweetie and her friends say were beautiful. - She’d like to complain, she was being dragged around like she was something to dispel, or trash, but she kept her muzzle shut. Best not to offend royalty, or, the help of royalty.
At last they stood before a back chamber, decorated with the fluffiest of plushies, and so many teddy bears she would have thought it was a room for storage of the particular item. If she squinted she could see a bed. She wondered who slept here, whomever it was, this room was more luxurious than any she had ever had. She had never slept in such a big room, and given who she was, the person in here must really be important.
A voice behind her startled her. She had been so intentful on looking at the decorations of the room, crystalline in nature that she hadn’t noticed anypony approaching. Noticing the wings and the horn, she realised who it was, and she was quick to bow.
Princess Cadance told her she could rise, and so she did. Her tone was gentle yet inquisitive. She seemed genuinely curious.
“How old are you, Diamond?”
Diamond found the question old, surely the files princess Cadance had would contain that information? Maybe she just wanted to assert her honesty? She told her her age.
“Quite a big filly, I see! I can already picture Flurry with your size! Speaking of!” - She used her magic to levitate what Diamond quite rapidly figured was the young princess from between her teddy bears.
“Don’t be rude, Flurry, say hi to your guest!”
Flurry didn’t seem too intent on doing so. She pushed her tongue out and blew a big raspberry, the force of the spell, which held her butt upwards through her diaper, was defused just as Flurry’s own horn shone. Diamond found herself with a weight she hadn’t been expected on top of her, and it was all she could do not to bend her legs and let the princess fall.
“Flurry has been going through a phase - “ Princess Cadance explained pointing towards the nappy that Diamond couldn’t quite see as the princess’ hooves covered her eyes. The princess seemed to have found a new toy as she dangled across the body of Diamond, and pushed and tangled her mane, occasionally using her wings to gently glide to her head.
“I can see that!”, It was hard for Diamond to speak with two tiny hooves puzzing her nose upwards, making her look like her mother, but she somehow managed.
Cadance smiled.
“Oh, no that’s just foals being foals, I mean the potty phase.” - Diamond quite clearly felt Flurry shimmer as the p word was said, it vibrated her entire being.
“At first we pushed it, but sunburst thought if we had someone to play with her - I mean the other fillies tease her so, but she seems to like it.” - Diamond nodded, vaguely aware of a wet, damp feeling on her back. It wasn’t until she smelled it that she realised what had happened.
“Did you just pee on me?” - Flurry’s eyes were as big as a puppy, and twice as adorable, and Diamond couldn’t be mad, as cadance pushed some wet towels towards her.
“So what does, playing with her imply?”, Diamond asked, the nausea and feeling of dreadfulness back.”
“Simply be close to her”, with her magic Cadance pushed something out of her saddlebags, a diaper floating in front of Diamond. “Be her equal!”
Diamond didn’t quite like the direction this was heading, but she knew enough not to say no to royalty, with Flurry still squeaking around her, she could only nod.
This was going to be super embarrassing.

Of course a castle and palace would have private changing rooms, and of course Cadance had directed Diamond there, with a diaper in her mouth. It didn’t really matter that most ponies didn’t wear clothes, she quite clearly expected Diamond to put it on. Diamond had sort of figured it out on the way in, but that didn’t make the experience any less weird. The fact she had placed a stallion on the other end of the room mortified her. - Was she really going to be seen by everyone like that? - and worse yet. - “Is this so bad the princess expected me to run off?”
With no other options in sight, she tried putting the blasted thing on. It was a tougher prospect than she had figured. Backing into it didn’t help, and when she finally managed to put it over her haunches, it didn’t close, despite the straps. Diamond couldn’t believe it, this had to be a two pony process. - Was that why the princess had put a guard there?
Diamond was unsure as she opened her muzzle and mouth, ready to speak, but with one strap pathetically over her tail, and lacking in flexibility she had to ask.
“Hum, mister? Co-could I get a little help?”
She blushed as the stallion came near her, and though she couldn’t see his eyes, she thought him to be judging her. He at least seemed amused with it. Diamond felt a soft pressure on her legs, as her tail finally slided down the hole, so that was what the third hole was for! She had in her stand still managed to twist and turn it.
When the stallion was finished he left her without comment. Maybe he figured she was embarrassed, maybe he was just that professional, either way, that left Diamond Tiara with a mirror in front of her, and she was curious enough to check how she was.
The diaper didn’t cover as much skin as some of the fancy dresses her mother had made her wear on occasion, but the skin it did cover, didn’t feel to pressured. Far too often rarity made the dressings tight and snug to the figure, to emphasize the young curves, and Diamond found to her surprise this was nothing like that, in fact it felt like little more than a pillow. It did cover her cutie mark, but when she sat on her haunches it felt surprisingly comfortable. Even if the reason they were sold in her size was due to fillies who wet the bed. She had never wet the bed. And she didn’t really want to.
She slipped out and nodded at the stallion, who kept his strict glance forward. Something for which Diamond was glad. The palace was so big that the amount of backdoors and rooms would make getting lost real easy, but it also made not meeting any important ponies not too hard, something for which she was glad.
At last she was before Flurry, who cooed and made little bubbles out of her own spit, Candace was with her, and she too, cooed in delight.
“Oh you look so adorable, I could just wrap you up!”
Diamond tiara seemed to recoil at the words, not finding the situation as pleasing as the princess, who was clearly having her fun.
“Oh don’t act that way, come and play with her, she’s clean now” - Diamond wondered who had cleaned her, cleaning pee didn’t seem very dignified of a princess. Then again, what did she know, she approached the little filly, barely older than a foal who pushed a hoof into her diaper.
Being prodded and poked should have felt like something, in normal circumstances she might even have put her tail in the way, but the truth was, it did feel kind of pleasant, the feeling of the material against her rump felt natural. Diamond didn’t really remember her diaper days, but she wondered if she had ever felt that way about them.
Still she had a job to perform, and so she did. Trying her best to ignore the new addiction to her indumentary she tried to remember what childhood games she had played were appropriate and doable by such a young. She settled on tag.
“I’m gonna getcha!”, she yelled throwing herself towards flurry, deliberately doing it slowly so that she had time to escape, flurry blinked once, twice, then Diamond felt a strong wind as she teleported across the room towards a mountain of plushies. She turned, eager to catch her - Diamond never lost, only to be pelted by projectiles, Flurry using her magic to throw them.
“Ow! Ouchie! Oh, stop!”, Despite Flurry clearly enjoying her new game, Diamond didn’t, and she found herself winded after not too long. Trying to climb a mountain of bears, and ponies, which gave way to her hooves and pushed her down was super exhausting!”
Flurry jumped into her back again, and Diamond could only sigh as she was buried in plushies. The air smelled damp as she went under, and, returning belly up she was surprised to see Cadance there, silently enjoying the show, she had a smile upon her lips.
“I had heard you had a mean streak, but I don’t think you’d ever hurt Flurry! If you need a change - or anything really, call one of her maids”
“You mean there isn’t a bath - “, diamond stopped herself in time, before the pout in Flurry’s gave way to tears, the filly quite clearly didn’t like them. She tickled her belly to try and make her return to her normal, happy self.
You’ve got to be kidding me.
Though she was dying to know, Diamond refused to simply pee into her diaper. Flurry lay asleep against her side. - Having been exhausted by all the displays of magic. - And Diamond had to admit a bed made out of plushies wasn’t the hardest, or worse she could think of. However she wondered if this was what her mother had meant when she had spoken in connections.
More than the future of her relationships, she was more concerned with her bladder. She was dying to go, she needed the release, in fact if she were standing her legs would shook! But she refused to, the fact that Flurry was pushing into her did not help matters.
She had seen people change flurry, and it seemed like a gentle and natural process - but that was a young filly, pratically a foal, it was to be expected, she wasn’t quite in the age range where that sort of thing could happen.
And yet she couldn’t move without disturbing the other, smaller filly. Her wings had actually enclosed her. Why did flurry even have such big wings? The fact was, she couldn’t move. A particular strong kick of Flurry’s leg, she must have thought she was chasing a squirrel or something, and Diamond couldn’t hold it anymore.
She felt the release as it happened, the relief of letting the liquid drip into the diaper, matched only by the mortification at the fact she had actually wet herself. It felt good coming out - she had been holding it for too long - and it didn’t even wet the area around her or the plushies, it was all absorbed, pushing one of her free hooves, the only one to the area, she found it slightly spongy, but not at all soggy, she’d need to pee a lot more for that to happen.
Diamond sighed, knowing she’d have a lot to explain in the morning, how could a filly her age explain her bed wetting problem? Blaming flurry would seem like a cop-out. Even if it was true.
When she had woken Flurry had already been attended to, apparently she hadn’t been the only one which had wet the bed, or what passed for a bed. But that still didn’t make her any less nervous, any step she did trot pushed the wet nappy between her legs, it hadn’t been easy hiding it, and she had eventually been found out.
She had to admit that the removal of the diaper, was like removing a layer of skin, and the dry air against her nethers felt even greater than the comfort of the diaper, though she missed it already. She dried surprisingly quickly, though having a mare pushing a tissue through her privates, and some sort of white powder had no doubt helped in that. She couldn’t look the mare in the eyes after, she had just mumbled a quick thanks.
Cadance on the other hoof seemed to enjoy how much Diamond was getting in the role, Diamond wondered if the princess had ulterior motives, before scoffing at herself, she was a princess!
The truth was, however, that Diamond herself didn’t feel the outright terror she had had yesterday as she had been told what to do, though wetting herself hadn’t been expected, she was glad she had done so, it had felt super good to let it go after so much time.
However she had standards, she was almost a mare, for celestia’s sake. “But no poo”, she told the princess, who nodded. Diamond would find out later, how hard to go potty on a loo designed for little little fillies was.
It had been a week and Diamond had adapted as if this had always been her life. It was true that the baby food could taste bland and unsavory, but she truly liked flurry and she could use of worse existences than playing all day long with a toddler. Though she had private classes in the afternoon, at the princess request, the fact she wore a (clean) diaper to those seemed to not bother the tutor. In fact she had even started herself release the pee, as if she were a foal. Was it not what the help was there for?
It was her little secret. No doubt having brought great advantages to her mother, she had heard tales about terrains donated to a new business project of her father. She wondered if he knew. Flurry too had adapted, treating her almost like a cool older sister. Diamond had no complaints.
She was living the foal life, and she liked it.
