After having breakfast, Magenta Whisp took her clothes to the laundromat. As the laundry is being washed, Magenta read a book she brought from home. Soon, she saw Trixie Lulamoon coming her way.

“The Great and Powerful Trixie has arrived!” Trixie announced.

“Making you presence felt again, Trixie?” Magenta inquired.

“Hello, Magenta Whisp. I heard your vacation plans got, shall we say, sunk.”

Magenta couldn’t believe Trixie made a comment like that. “Don’t you think I’m still trying to get over that?”

“Sorry if I came across cruelly.” Trixie said. “I guess you took the news hard.”

“Yup. Luckily, Twilight Sparkle and her friends have the solution to that.”

“Really? How so?”

“They are letting me spend time with them every night this week. I already spent the night at Twilight’s house. I’m just waiting for what’s in store for me tonight.”

Trixie seems impressed. “With that, Magenta, I bid you farewell.”

Trixie set off a smoke bomb, and disappeared. Magenta didn’t like that. “No wonder the Rainbooms think she’s crafty. Yike!”

Later, back at home, Magenta finished putting her clothes away. Then, she heard a knock on her door. “Who knocks?”

“It’s mom, honey.” Willow Whisp answered. “May I come in?”

“Sure, mom.”

Magenta’s mom comes in to the room and talks to her.

“What are you up to?” Willow asked.

“I was just putting my clothes away, mom.” Magenta answered.

“Well, you better get ready to pack up again. Because you’re in for another sleepover.”

Magenta’s eyes widened. “No joke? Where to?”

Willow gave her a surprising answer. “Sweet Apple Acres.”

“Sweet Apple Acres? That’s where Applejack and her family live!”

“Right. And, that family is letting you have dinner with them. I’m sure you’ll like their home cooking.”

Magenta is very happy to hear the news. “I’ll get packed right away.”

Later that day, Magenta walked down to the farm lands. Wearing a purple T shirt and blue bib overalls with the pant cuffs rolled up, she made her way to Sweet Apple Acres. As she arrived, she was given a joyous greeting.

“Howdy, Magenta.” Applejack greeted, as she came from behind the barn. “Glad you’re here. I see y’all are dressed for this occasion.”

“I sure am, Applejack.” Magenta replied. “I hope you don’t mind.”

“Don’t worry. I think you look just right. Come with me. Dinner will be ready in twenty minutes.”

“Cool. Gives me time to get settled in.”

At the kitchen table. Magenta sits next to Applejack as Granny Smith serves the food.

“I hope you developed an appetite from that there traveling, honey.” Granny Smith informed. “A.J. and I whipped up a wholesome meal for ya.”

“Hey! I helped out a bit!” Apple Bloom protested.

“Don’t worry, Apple Bloom. I haven’t forgotten you.”

Magenta and the Apple family ate a very good meal. She loved the taste of the roasted ham she was given. “This ham is delicious, Applejack! You, Granny Smith, and Apple Bloom are a great team.”

“Glad you like it.” Applejack praised. “We like serving a good meal to good friends.”

“And, you’re a good friend to us.” Apple Bloom added.

Later that day, Magenta sat under a tree with her sneakers off, looking at the setting sun. She felt the warmth of the area and her hosts. Just then, Applejack walked up to her, carrying her boots with her.

“I had a feeling you’d be here.” Applejack said as she sat next to Magenta. “I come here myself to relax before bedtime.”

Magenta got a bit embarrassed. “I just wanted to see the sunset, Applejack. Hope you don’t mind.”

“Not at all, Magenta. I always like the way the sun sets over these orchards. Brings out more color to the Apple trees. Sure is a sight, ain’t it?”

Magenta felt better, knowing Applejack enjoys the view too. “Sure is.”

Inside the house, Magenta smooths out her sea foam green nightshirt as she gets ready for bed. Applejack walks into the room wearing her pajamas. She sits on her bed, readying for bed. “So, ya ready for the rest of the week?”

“I hope so.” Magenta replied as she lays on the cot Applejack set up. “I still can’t believe you guys are letting me spend time with you.”

“Can’t let Spring Recess go to waste. You need to relax as much as we do.”

As Magenta gets comfortable, Applejack looks at her nightshirt. “Pretty nice color. As bright as the ocean.”

Magenta smiled at Applejack’s comment. “Thanks, Applejack. I saw this in a store, and I fell in love with it.”

Minutes later, the two girls fell fast asleep.

Dawn breaks. Applejack’s alarm clock goes off. Applejack woke up right away. Magenta Whisp woke up seconds later.

“Morning, Magenta.” Applejack greeted.

“Morning, Applejack.” Magenta yawned. “You farm folks sure get up early.”

“Sure do. My family and I like to get up early so that we can get our chores done.”

“I can believe that.”

Apple Bloom came in. “Hey, you two. Better get dressed. Breakfast will be ready in ten minutes.”

Applejack thanked her sister. Then, she turned to her guest. “Come on, Magenta. Better get goin’. Wait till you taste Granny’s pancakes. Big Macintosh adds his personal touch when they’re done.”

At the table, Magenta and the Apple Family ate their pancakes. Magenta was amazed. “These pancakes are delicious. You did good, Granny Smith.”

“You’re welcome, honey.” Granny Smith responded. “I hope you like what Big Mac topped them with.”

“The drizzles of chocolate syrup? It is a nice touch.”

Big Mac blushed. He appreciated her praising his pancake topping. Later, around 8am, Magenta steps outside the house with bag in hand.

“Nice having you over, Magenta.” Applejack said. “Thanks for stopping by.”

“Thank YOU for inviting me.” Magenta replied. “Time for me to go. As I was coming downstairs, I texted my mom that it’s time to wake up, and get ready to go to work.”

“Okay. See you soon.”

After arriving home, Magenta kissed her mother goodbye. “Have a good day at work, mom.”

“I will, Magenta.” Willow Whisp responded. “Better keep your phone charged and standing by. This way, you’ll know what night number three will bring.”

As Willow drove off to her job, Magenta thought about what her mother said.

“Mom is right.” Magenta thought out loud. “I wonder who will invite me to a sleepover next.”
