1. Start with the BasicsView OnlineOperation:Sleepover1. Start with the BasicsThe bell rings to end the day at Canterlot High School. The students were happy because it’s the start of Spring Recess. The students are off for a week. For one fourteen year old student, Magenta Whisp, this week is not so good. At her home, Magenta comes in as her mother, Willow Whisp, greets her. “Welcome home, Magenta.” “Hi, mom.” Magenta responded sadly. Magenta walks upstairs to her room as her mother got concerned. Magenta removes her sneakers and lays down on her bed, quietly sobbing. “Magenta,” Willow said as she walks into the room, “are you okay?” “Not really, mom.” Magenta answered, wiping the tears from her eyes. “You’re still upset that your plans to go to Fillydelphia were cancelled?” “Yes, I am! I can’t believe my relatives had to go to a funeral that week!” The mother embraced Magenta with a small hug. “I’m sorry, honey. You must’ve been caught off guard.” Magenta hugged back. “I know that a funeral can’t be helped. But now, I have nothing to do during vacation time.” Willow thought of something. “Magenta, I have an idea.” Willow left Magenta’s room, got on her phone and made a call. “Hello, Twilight Sparkle, it’s Willow Whisp. Magenta’s mom. I wonder if you can help me out.” Later that night, Pinkie Pie and her sisters, Limestone, Marble, and Maud, were enjoying themselves at a pizza place as Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Sunset Shimmer came in. They waved at the Pie Sisters. “Looks like your friends have something important to discuss, Pinkie.” Limestone figured. “Better see what’s up.” “Okey Dokey.” Pinkie replied. Pinkie met the rest of the girls. Applejack wondered what’s happening. “What’s our meeting about, Twi?” “Yeah.” Dash added. “What’s wrong with Magenta Whisp?” Twilight discussed the situation. “Magenta is upset that her vacation plans got cancelled due to a funeral. And, I think I know how to cheer her up.” “What’s the plan, Twi?” Sunset asked. “One word: Sleepovers.” The girls listened as Twilight explains. “We should have Magenta spend the night with each of us. Leading to our big slumber party next Saturday.” “That’s sounds good to me.” Dash happily chirped. “Marvelous idea, darling.” Rarity added. Fluttershy made a suggestion. “Since you have the idea, Twilight, how about you start this off tomorrow night.” “Good thinking, Fluttershy.” Twilight responded. “I’m sure my parents would like to have her come over.” Hearing the conversation, Maud Pie turned to Limestone. “Do you have plans to join Pinkie this week, sis?” “Sure do, Maud.” Limestone answered. “I wouldn’t mind that girl, Magenta Whisp, joining us. Pinkie will probably see to that.” The next day, Magenta came back from her yoga class and went to her room. After changing to regular clothes, she went downstairs to help her mother with cleaning the kitchen. As Magenta started to wipe down the counter, her mother gave her some news. “Magenta,” Willow stated, “you’ll soon have plans tonight.” Magenta looked at her with confusion. “What do you mean? My plans got ruined.” “I got a call from your friend, Twilight Sparkle. She invited you to spend the night at her house.” Magenta’s eyes widened. “Wow! This is a nice surprise! How did this happen?” Willow explained what happened. “Yesterday, I called Twilight and told her about what happened. She told me that she and her friends are planning a whole week of nighttime surprises.” “Oh my goodness.” Magenta yelped. “That’s fantastic. I can’t wait to see what Twilight and her friends have planned for me.” Willow saw a big smile on her daughter’s face. “That’s the Magenta Whisp I know and love.” Later that night, Magenta prepared to leave. Willow gave her a kiss. “Have a good time, Magenta.” “I will, mom.” Magenta replied. “Good night.” With her backpack strapped on, Magenta Whisp went on her way. Looking around the town, she was impressed with the street lights lighting the neighborhood. She made her way to Twilight’s house. As she was approaching the front door, Twilight’s parents, Night Light and Twilight Velvet, came out to greet her. “Hello, miss Whisp.” Twilight Velvet greeted. “We were told you were coming.” Twilight Velvet gave Magenta a good hug. “Thank you. You remind me of MY mom like this.” “That’s what I like about this lovely lady.” Night Light informed. “She is very affectionate .” “I noticed. So, where’s Twilight Sparkle?” Twilight Sparkle came out to greet her guest. “Hi, Magenta. I see you met my parents.” Magenta nodded yes. Soon, Twilight lead her guest to her bedroom. Later, after Twilight changed into her pajamas, Magenta came out wearing her own sleepwear. Basically a green T shirt and sky blue capri style sleep pants. “That sleepwear looks good.” Twilight said. “Thanks, Twi.” Magenta replied. “I have different kinds of sleepwear for different occasions.” “Good thing. You’re in for one amazing week.” Magenta laid down on a cot prepared for her. Twilight soon explained what’s in store for the visitor. “Here’s the scoop.” Twilight told her. “My friends and I have overnight plans this week. And, we’re having you take part in these overnight occasions.” “Really, Twilight?” Magenta yelped. “What plans do you have in store?” “You’ll find out in time. For now, let’s get some sleep. Night, Magenta.” Twilight Sparkle soon fell asleep. Magenta draped the blanket over herself and got comfy. “Night, Twilight.” Magenta replied. As she started to drift to sleep, she gave a soft whisper to her host. “And, thank you.” The next morning, the sun shined through the window. In Twilight’s bedroom, Magenta started to stir. She slowly rose up and yawned. Twilight slowly opened her eyes and saw Magenta wake up. “Good morning, Magenta.” Twilight greeted. “Did you sleep well?” “Morning, Twilight.” Magenta responded. “I slept like a baby. This cot felt very good.” Later, after getting dressed and packing her backpack, Magenta steps outside as Twilight escorted her. “Thanks for letting me stay over, Twilight.” Magenta said with gratitude. “You’re welcome.” Twilight replied. “Remember, this is only day one of eight nights of overnight experiences. Bye bye.” Magenta waved to Twilight as she heads for home. “Twilight Sparkle is right.” Magenta thought to herself. “I wonder what day two will bring.”
2. Farm TimeView OnlineOperation:Sleepover2. Farm TimeAfter having breakfast, Magenta Whisp took her clothes to the laundromat. As the laundry is being washed, Magenta read a book she brought from home. Soon, she saw Trixie Lulamoon coming her way. “The Great and Powerful Trixie has arrived!” Trixie announced. “Making you presence felt again, Trixie?” Magenta inquired. “Hello, Magenta Whisp. I heard your vacation plans got, shall we say, sunk.” Magenta couldn’t believe Trixie made a comment like that. “Don’t you think I’m still trying to get over that?” “Sorry if I came across cruelly.” Trixie said. “I guess you took the news hard.” “Yup. Luckily, Twilight Sparkle and her friends have the solution to that.” “Really? How so?” “They are letting me spend time with them every night this week. I already spent the night at Twilight’s house. I’m just waiting for what’s in store for me tonight.” Trixie seems impressed. “With that, Magenta, I bid you farewell.” Trixie set off a smoke bomb, and disappeared. Magenta didn’t like that. “No wonder the Rainbooms think she’s crafty. Yike!” Later, back at home, Magenta finished putting her clothes away. Then, she heard a knock on her door. “Who knocks?” “It’s mom, honey.” Willow Whisp answered. “May I come in?” “Sure, mom.” Magenta’s mom comes in to the room and talks to her. “What are you up to?” Willow asked. “I was just putting my clothes away, mom.” Magenta answered. “Well, you better get ready to pack up again. Because you’re in for another sleepover.” Magenta’s eyes widened. “No joke? Where to?” Willow gave her a surprising answer. “Sweet Apple Acres.” “Sweet Apple Acres? That’s where Applejack and her family live!” “Right. And, that family is letting you have dinner with them. I’m sure you’ll like their home cooking.” Magenta is very happy to hear the news. “I’ll get packed right away.” Later that day, Magenta walked down to the farm lands. Wearing a purple T shirt and blue bib overalls with the pant cuffs rolled up, she made her way to Sweet Apple Acres. As she arrived, she was given a joyous greeting. “Howdy, Magenta.” Applejack greeted, as she came from behind the barn. “Glad you’re here. I see y’all are dressed for this occasion.” “I sure am, Applejack.” Magenta replied. “I hope you don’t mind.” “Don’t worry. I think you look just right. Come with me. Dinner will be ready in twenty minutes.” “Cool. Gives me time to get settled in.” At the kitchen table. Magenta sits next to Applejack as Granny Smith serves the food. “I hope you developed an appetite from that there traveling, honey.” Granny Smith informed. “A.J. and I whipped up a wholesome meal for ya.” “Hey! I helped out a bit!” Apple Bloom protested. “Don’t worry, Apple Bloom. I haven’t forgotten you.” Magenta and the Apple family ate a very good meal. She loved the taste of the roasted ham she was given. “This ham is delicious, Applejack! You, Granny Smith, and Apple Bloom are a great team.” “Glad you like it.” Applejack praised. “We like serving a good meal to good friends.” “And, you’re a good friend to us.” Apple Bloom added. Later that day, Magenta sat under a tree with her sneakers off, looking at the setting sun. She felt the warmth of the area and her hosts. Just then, Applejack walked up to her, carrying her boots with her. “I had a feeling you’d be here.” Applejack said as she sat next to Magenta. “I come here myself to relax before bedtime.” Magenta got a bit embarrassed. “I just wanted to see the sunset, Applejack. Hope you don’t mind.” “Not at all, Magenta. I always like the way the sun sets over these orchards. Brings out more color to the Apple trees. Sure is a sight, ain’t it?” Magenta felt better, knowing Applejack enjoys the view too. “Sure is.” Inside the house, Magenta smooths out her sea foam green nightshirt as she gets ready for bed. Applejack walks into the room wearing her pajamas. She sits on her bed, readying for bed. “So, ya ready for the rest of the week?” “I hope so.” Magenta replied as she lays on the cot Applejack set up. “I still can’t believe you guys are letting me spend time with you.” “Can’t let Spring Recess go to waste. You need to relax as much as we do.” As Magenta gets comfortable, Applejack looks at her nightshirt. “Pretty nice color. As bright as the ocean.” Magenta smiled at Applejack’s comment. “Thanks, Applejack. I saw this in a store, and I fell in love with it.” Minutes later, the two girls fell fast asleep. Dawn breaks. Applejack’s alarm clock goes off. Applejack woke up right away. Magenta Whisp woke up seconds later. “Morning, Magenta.” Applejack greeted. “Morning, Applejack.” Magenta yawned. “You farm folks sure get up early.” “Sure do. My family and I like to get up early so that we can get our chores done.” “I can believe that.” Apple Bloom came in. “Hey, you two. Better get dressed. Breakfast will be ready in ten minutes.” Applejack thanked her sister. Then, she turned to her guest. “Come on, Magenta. Better get goin’. Wait till you taste Granny’s pancakes. Big Macintosh adds his personal touch when they’re done.” At the table, Magenta and the Apple Family ate their pancakes. Magenta was amazed. “These pancakes are delicious. You did good, Granny Smith.” “You’re welcome, honey.” Granny Smith responded. “I hope you like what Big Mac topped them with.” “The drizzles of chocolate syrup? It is a nice touch.” Big Mac blushed. He appreciated her praising his pancake topping. Later, around 8am, Magenta steps outside the house with bag in hand. “Nice having you over, Magenta.” Applejack said. “Thanks for stopping by.” “Thank YOU for inviting me.” Magenta replied. “Time for me to go. As I was coming downstairs, I texted my mom that it’s time to wake up, and get ready to go to work.” “Okay. See you soon.” After arriving home, Magenta kissed her mother goodbye. “Have a good day at work, mom.” “I will, Magenta.” Willow Whisp responded. “Better keep your phone charged and standing by. This way, you’ll know what night number three will bring.” As Willow drove off to her job, Magenta thought about what her mother said. “Mom is right.” Magenta thought out loud. “I wonder who will invite me to a sleepover next.”
3. An Elegant SleepoverView OnlineOperation:Sleepover3. An Elegant SleepoverIt’s 3:55 pm. Magenta looked at her dry erase board. Checking the days she spent with Twilight Sparkle and Applejack. Soon, her ten year old brother, Lavender Spot, came in. “Lavender!” Magenta shouted. “Couldn’t you at least knock?” “Sorry, sis.” Lavender replied. “I just came back from the Neighborhood Activity Center. And, I just wanted to say ‘Hello’ to you.” “Well, I suppose that’s good to know. But, at least let me know when you come home.” Lavender looked at his sister’s board. “What are you doing anyway, Magenta?” Magenta explained her activity. “I’m making a list to help me remember who I spent the night with.” “Oh, right. The week of sleepovers the Rainbooms are setting up for you.” “That’s right. On Day 1, I spent the night with Twilight Sparkle. On Day 2, which was last night, I was with Applejack and her family.” Lavender figured out why. “Is this to make up for the vacation that was taken away from you?” “I guess so.” Magenta answered. “This is Day 3. And, who knows who will invite me tonight.” Soon, their mother, Willow Whisp, came home. “Kids, I’m home!” “Coming, mom.” Magenta and Lavender answered together. The kids came downstairs to say hello to their mom. “Anything interesting happening?” Willow asked. “I got back from the Activity Center, mom.” Lavender answered. “They’re going to show a movie tomorrow.” “That sounds like fun. How about you, Magenta?” “Well, mom,” Magenta started to say, “nothing at this...” Magenta’s phone signaled a text coming up. She looks at the phone, and sees who it is. “Wow!” Magenta shouted. “It’s from Rarity.” Willow figured out the purpose. “I’m guessing she wants you to spend the night with her.” “Yes. She said to be over between seven and eight tonight. I better pack up and dress accordingly. Rarity is an elegant girl, you know.” After dinner, Magenta changed into a bright red jacket, white dress shirt, crimson skirt, and black shoes. With a suitcase in hand, she is set to head for Rarity’s house. “So long, mom. I’m on my way.” “Good night, Magenta.” Willow replied. “Have a good time.” Lavender saw Magenta leave. “Boy, my sister is lucky. I wish I had friends like the Rainbooms.” Magenta watched the sun setting as she arrives at Rarity’s house. She rings the doorbell, and Rarity answers the door. “Hello, Magenta.” Rarity greeted. She looks at Magenta’s outfit. “My goodness, darling. You don’t have to look elegant just for me.” “Maybe not.” Magenta said. “But, I’d like to show that I have a fancy side as you do.” “That’s very honorable, Magenta. Come in.” Magenta walks in the door when Rarity’s sister, Sweetie Belle, runs in. “Hey, sis.” Sweetie Belle squealed. “I have some popcorn ready to heat up.” “Good idea, Sweetie Belle.” Rarity replied. “Popcorn?” Magenta yelped. “What for?” “I figured you and I can watch a movie. I do have a Blu-Ray player, you know.” “Cool. A great way to relax before bedtime.” Later, after changing into her sleepwear, Rarity prepared her blu-Ray player as Magenta walks in wearing a short sleeved light teal nightgown. Rarity sees her walk in. “Why, Magenta dear.” Rarity cooed. “Your nightgown looks beautiful.” “Thank you, Rarity.” Magenta replied. “Is the movie ready?” “Yes, darling. We’re just waiting for Sweetie Belle to come up with the popcorn and the sodas.” Sweetie Belle comes in with a big bowl of hot buttered popcorn and two bottles of soda. “Here you are, Rarity.” Sweetie Belle stated. “Green Apple for you and regular for Magenta.” “Thank you, Sweetie Belle.” Rarity replied. Magenta was surprised. “Green Apple soda? That’s new to me.” “Green Apple is getting to be a very popular flavor, Magenta.” Rarity informed. “I do enjoy the taste.” With a bag of popcorn of her own, and a small bottle of strawberry milk, Sweetie Belle sits next to Rarity. “Sweetie Belle is watching the movie with us?” Magenta wondered. “Of course, darling.” Rarity answered. “This is our favorite movie. And, you’re going to find out why.” Rarity picks up the remote. “Ready, girls? Here we go!” Rarity pushes play and the movie begins. As the movie goes on, the three girls enjoy each other’s company. “Would you like to try my soda, Magenta?” Rarity offered. “Sure.” Magenta responded as she was given Rarity’s green apple soda. She took one swig and is astounded. “Wow! You’re right, Rarity. This IS good.” Rarity smiled as the movie continued. Later, the movie was over. Sweetie Belle went to her own room as Rarity and Magenta prepared for bed. “Do you like that air mattress I prepared?” Rarity asked. “Sure is.” Magenta andwered. “This feels so good. I can fall asleep well on this.” “I was hoping you would like it. Well, good night, darling.” “Good night, Rarity.” Magenta replied softly. Rarity and Magenta soon fell asleep. The next morning, the rays of the sun shine through the window. Magenta slowly stirred, and rose up. She stretched and yawned. “What was that?” Rarity asked. The yawning woke her up. “Oh. Morning, Rarity.” Magenta greeted. “Did I wake you?” Magenta got a little nervous. Rarity gave her an answer. “I was going to wake up anyway. But, you’re yawning startled me.” “Oh. I’m sorry.” Magenta said nervously. “Don’t be sorry, darling. I usually wake up at this time anyway. Whether a sound was heard or not.” Magenta was relieved to hear that. Soon, Rarity and Magenta got dressed and went downstairs. Magenta had her suitcase ready. “Are you ready to leave, Magenta?” Rarity asked. “I’m afraid so.” Magenta answered. “But, I had a good night. Thanks for the good time, Rarity.” “My pleasure, darling. Sweetie Belle enjoyed your visit too.” Outside the door, Magenta was ready to leave as Rarity and Sweetie Belle went up to her. “Thanks for you visit.” Rarity praised. “You’re welcome.” Magenta replied. “And, thanks for the bagel too.” “My idea.” Sweetie Belle responded. “Wouldn’t let you go without something to eat.” Magenta soon made her way back home. As Rarity and Sweetie Belle waved her goodbye, Magenta thought about what’s next. “I wonder what night number four will bring.”
4. Deluxe AccommodationsView OnlineOperation:Sleepover4. Deluxe AccommodationsMagenta finished cleaning the living room, then sat on the couch to watch TV. She was watching a story about a Garden Expo happening at the Canterlot City Hotel. “I keep hearing of this event.” Magenta thought to herself. “Sunset Shimmer said that she and Wallflower Blush are attending this event.” Just then, Lavender came home and greeted his sister. “Hi, Magenta. I’m home!” “Hi, Lavender.” Magenta responded. “What did you do at the Activity Center today?” “My friends and I saw a great movie. Then, they talked about yoga and how good it is.” “Hmmm. Thinking of doing yoga like me?” Lavender had a thought. “Maybe. You might be on to something. If yoga helps you with stress relief, it might help me.” Magenta and Lavender worked together to clean the kitchen. They were finished when their mother came in. “Hi, mom.” Lavender called. “Hi, kids.” Willow replied. “How was your day?” “My day was quiet.” Magenta answered. “Lavender had a good day too.” Willow gave Magenta some news. “You know that garden expo happening at the Canterlot City Hotel. Do you?” “Yes, I did. Sunset Shimmer and Wallflower Blush are attending that event.” Magenta’s mom smirked. “Funny you should mention Sunset. She readied a reservation for you to spend the night with her and Wallflower.” Magenta’s eyes widened. “Whoa, mama. Now I’m spending the night at a hotel. That’s so cool!” “You know the drill, honey. Pack your bag and get ready for night number four.” Later, a blue car entered Canterlot City. In the car, Magenta was riding with Spitfire as her mom, Stormy Flare, was driving. “Thanks for taking me to the hotel, Miss Flare.” Magenta praised. “You’re welcome, Magenta.” Stormy Flare replied. “Spitfire and I were on our way here anyway.” Spitfire gave Magenta some info. “A cousin of mine is having a birthday party. And, we were invited to join the fun.” She whispered some good news to Magenta. “I’ll save you some birthday cake.” The car soon pulled up in front of the hotel. Magenta got out of the car, carrying her suitcase with her. “Thank for the lift.” “Our pleasure.” Spitfire said happily. “Say ‘hi’ to Sunset and Wallflower for me.” “I will. And, have fun at that party.” The car drove away. With bag in hand, Magenta walked into the hotel. She was amazed at the size of the place. “Wow! This is one big hotel. Those two are lucky to stay here during the garden expo.” Magenta walked up to the front desk. “Can I help you, miss?” The desk clerk asked. “I believe I have a reservation.” Magenta answered. “My name is Magenta Whisp.” The desk clerk looked her name up on his computer. Soon, he finds it. “Ah, yes. Magenta Whisp. Miss Sunset Shimmer and Miss Wallflower Blush had you registered.” He soon gave her a key card. “Your room number is 626. Sunset and Wallflower are across the hall from you.” “Thank you, sir.” Magenta praised. Taking the elevator to the sixth floor, Magenta walked down the hall to find her room. “632, 630, 628, ah. Here it is, 626.” Using the card, Magenta opens the door and looks around her room. “Oh my gosh!” Magenta gasped. “ This is nice.” She sits on the bed. “This bed feels good. Perfect for a good night sleep.” Someone knocked on a door and called out with a deep female voice. “Room service!” Magenta got confused. “I don’t remember ordering room service.” She opened the door, and saw a familiar sight with red and yellow striped hair. She squealed with joy. “Sunset!” “Hey, Magenta.” Sunset greeted. “Welcome to the party!” Magenta and Sunset embraced in a hug. “Thank for inviting me to this hotel.” Magenta chirped. “How did you pull this off?” “I did some favors for this place last summer.” Sunset responded. “The people here told me if I need anything, I just let them know.” “That’s cool. So, where’s your partner in flowers?” Hearing that, Wallflower Blush walked out of her room to greet the visitor. “You called, Magenta?” Magenta saw Wallflower, and gave her a hug. “Good to see you, Wallflower.” “Good to see you too.” Wallflower replied. “Sunset and I are happy you’re joining us.” Sunset interrupted them. “Hey, you guys. Let’s go down to the lobby for dinner.” “Good idea.” Magenta said with relief. “I can go for something to eat.” The three girls sat down in a restaurant to have their meal. Wallflower showed Magenta pictures of the garden expo on her digital camera. “Must’ve been some event you went to.” Magenta said, munching on a bacon cheeseburger. “Sure was.” Wallflower replied. “I learned a lot at that expo. Helps me get ideas on how to improve my own garden.” Sunset takes a bite of a baked potato as she comes into the conversation. “I’ve been to her garden. It looks gorgeous. But, even garden lovers like Wallflower Blush can use some advice.” Wallflower started to blush a bit. “Oh, Sunset. No need to praise me that much.” The three girls shared a laugh as they continue to dine. Later that night, Magenta changed into a pair of marigold colored pajamas, ready for bed. Then, someone knocked on her door. Magenta answered the door, and Sunset was waiting for her. “How’d you like this little surprise, Magenta?” Sunset wondered. “This is great, Sunset.” Magenta praised. “Is Wallflower bunking with you?” “Nah. I think she’s still a little not sure about relationships. She’s next door to me however.” “I can understand that.” Magenta started to yawn. “Time to hit the sack. Goodnight, Sunset.” “Good night, Magenta. Sleep well.” Sunset left, Magenta closed the door, and climbed onto her bed. Pretty soon, she fell asleep. The next morning, around 7:30am, Sunset, Wallflower, Magenta packed up, and went into a limousine Sunset arranged. The limo soon left the city. “So far,” Magenta happily said, “This has been a great week.” “Glad you hear you say that.” Sunset praised. “Your week is half way over. Don’t forget the big slumber party this Saturday.” “I won’t.” The limo parked in front of Magenta’s house. She got out and waved goodbye to Sunset and Wallflower as they’re being taken home. Magenta soon heard a familiar voice. “Morning, dear.” She turned, as saw her mother, Willow Whisp, getting into her car with Lavender riding with her. “Hi, mom.” Magenta called. “Ready to go to work?” “Yes, I am.” Willow answered. “And, I’m dropping Lavender off at the Activity Center on the way.” “Anything I can do for you?” “Well, it’s Wednesday. That means laundry day. But, after the washing, hang the clothes out in the backyard. It’s going to be sunny and warm today.” Magenta nodded. “No problem. Anything else?” Willow gave her some other advice. “Keep you phone charged and nearby. This way, you’ll know what night number five will bring.” Willow drove off to drop Lavender off, then go to work. Magenta agreed what her mother said. Her week of sleepovers IS halfway over.
6. Nighttime Nature CallsView OnlineOperation:Sleepover6. Nighttime Nature CallsMagenta looks at her bulletin board, and looks at her list of sleepovers she attended. “Five nights, five sleepovers.” Magenta said to herself. “So far, I was invited by Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rarity, Sunset Shimmer, and Rainbow Dash. I wonder who’s arranging night six.” While having a sandwich at noon, Magenta received a text from her mother. The text reads, “Magenta, your next experience is courtesy of Fluttershy. She’s planning to go on an overnight hike in a forest near her home. And, she wants you to go with her. Have fun, dear.” Magenta was amazed at the message. “Mom must’ve got that text from Fluttershy during her lunchtime. I better get packing.” Packing her backpack, Magenta also packs her sleeping bag, and takes along her packed up tent. At 2pm, Magenta walks up to Fluttershy’s house. It’s there where Fluttershy is waiting. “Hi, Fluttershy.” Magenta called. “Hello, Magenta.” Fluttershy responded. “Thank you for coming.” “My pleasure. I have my sleeping bag and tent with me.” “One more thing. If we’re going camping, we’ll leave our smartphones at home. This way, no harm will come to them.” Magenta got concerned. “How will we know if anyone is calling?” Fluttershy calmed Magenta down. “Tree Hugger is staying over the house. My family knows her well.” “In that case, let’s move out.” With backpacks in hand, Magenta and Fluttershy went into the forest near Fluttershy’s house. Soon, they found a clearing that’s perfect for camping. “This looks like a nice spot.” Fluttershy figured. “Looks good to me.” Magenta agreed. “Let’s set up our tents.” Fifteen minutes later, the tents were set up. The girls are pleased. “Our tents look good.” Magenta said happily. “I agree.” Fluttershy replied. “I heard you went camping before.” “I sure did. I sometimes go camping with my uncle when I visit him in Fillydelphia.” “Great experience for you, I say.” “I suppose, Fluttershy.” Magenta reached into her backpack and pulled out her digital camera. “Since we’re here in this forest, I may as well take some pictures.” The two girls soon saw something by the lake they pitched their tents by. It was a deer. Hiding quietly behind a bush, Magenta took a picture. The girls looked on the screen. “Nice picture.” Fluttershy praised. “You must’ve done this before.” “I sure did.” Magenta replied. “I have a scrapbook of pictures I took of nature. Scenery, weather, animals. You name it, I took it.” Just then, they heard a growl behind them. It was a brown bear. Magenta got scared. But, Fluttershy walked up to the bear. Her necklace glowed and the bear became friendly. “How did you do that?” Magenta asked puzzlingly. “As you know,” Fluttershy explained, “the necklaces of us Rainbooms have magical abilities. Mine is communicating with animals.” Later, the girls were joined by Tree Hugger as she brought some hero sandwiches to the campsite. “Hey, Flutters.” Tree Hugger said. “Your mom thought you and your friend might be totally starving.” “I see.” Fluttershy figured. “She must’ve ordered hero sandwiches for us.” The three girls unwrapped their food and started eating. “Aren’t you glad that my house is close to this place?” Fluttershy asked. “For sure.” Tree Hugger answered, munching her sandwich. Magenta enjoyed her meal. “Mmmm. Sausage hero parmesan. How did you know what I like?” Fluttershy answered that question. “Know someone for a while, you learned a bit about her or him. Especially what they like to eat.” “Works for me.” The three girls munched on their hot sandwiches and drank the bottles of water which Tree Hugger also brought. When the food was done and the bottles were empty, Tree Hugger put the trash in a bag she brought. “Time to groove back to your pad, Flutters.” Tree Hugger announced. “Stay groovy.” Magenta and Fluttershy waved goodbye to Tree Hugger as she leaves the forest and heads back to Fluttershy’s house. Later that night, the stars were shining, the moon was full and the weather is cool. Magenta, wearing a lime green sweatshirt and teal sweatpants sat cross legged with her eyes closed. Fluttershy tapped on her shoulder to get her attention. “I thought you’d be sleeping in the tent.” The nature lover said. “I was just meditating.” Magenta replied. “Helps me relax before bedtime.” “Hmmmm. May not be a bad idea. I’ll need to try that sometime.” Magenta and Fluttershy soon went to their respected tents to get ready for bed. Magenta snuggled up in her sleeping bag, put her head on the pillow she brought, and fell asleep. They have the sounds of nature helping them relax. The next morning, the light of the dawn shined throughout the forest. Magenta crawls out of her tent, and sees Fluttershy admiring the environment. Grabbing her camera, Magenta joins her. “When did you wake up, Fluttershy?” Magenta asked. “Fifteen minutes ago.” Fluttershy answered. “I didn’t want to disturb you. I love watching the sunrise when I’m in a natural environment like this.” Magenta saw something in the sky. She quickly aimed her camera and took a picture. The two girls saw the picture. It was a bald eagle flying gracefully. “Good shot, Magenta.” Fluttershy praised. “Even I wouldn’t take a good picture like that.” “Thank you.” Magenta replied. “I’ll be sure to make a copy of this picture and give it to you.” Magenta and Fluttershy packed all their stuff and headed out of the forest. After reaching Fluttershy’s house, Magenta retrieved her smartphone, and gave Fluttershy a sweet hug. “Thank you for this experience.” Magenta gratefully said. “Don’t forget to thank Tree Hugger too.” Fluttershy informed. “She stayed over and kept everything safe.” “Where is Tree Hugger anyway?” “Hearing that we’re coming back, she probably went home.” “Oh. Well, say ‘hello’ to her for me. Bye, Fluttershy.” Magenta waved goodbye, and headed for home. Later that day, around 9am, her mother is at work, her brother is at the Activity Center, and Magenta laid down on her bed after unpacking her backpack. Looking at her bulletin board, Magenta figured who’s next to give her an invite. “The only one left to invite me for a sleepover is Pinkie Pie.” Magenta thought to herself. “I wonder how she’s going to plan for night number seven. Then, the big slumber party the next night.”
7. A Night With The PiesView OnlineOperation:Sleepover7. A Night With The PiesAs she was watching TV, Magenta keeps thinking about the week she had. So far, six nights, six sleepovers. Soon, her brother, Lavender, joins her. “Hey, sis.” Lavender greeted. “Who’s left to invite you to spend the night?” Magenta gave her brother a straight answer. “The only one left is Pinkie Pie.” “The party girl of the Rainbooms? What do you think she’ll come up with?” “Good question. I wish I had a good answer.” Just then, Willow Whisp came home, relieved that the week is over. “Friday.” Willow sighed. “I never thought it would get here.” “Hard day at the office, mom?” Magenta asked. “Yeah. The meeting me and my fellow co-workers had was long. Then, the bell rang, and we went home for the weekend.” “I hear you, mom.” Lavender added. “At least we can sleep late tomorrow.” Willow then turned to Magenta. “Speaking of sleep, any news about night number seven, which is tonight?” “No news from Pinkie Pie yet, mom?” Magenta answered. Just then, Magenta’s smartphone sent a text message to her. She was very happy. “Message from Pinkie!” Magenta praised. “She wants me to come over tonight by 7pm.” “Better get packing, honey.” Willow advised. “By the way, how did you know Pinkie Pie would send you a message?” “She’s the only one who hasn’t invited me yet. Until now.” Magenta went upstairs to pack her backpack. Lavender was wondering about something. “What would Pinkie Pie have in store for Magenta, mom?” “I don’t know, Lavender.” Willow answered. “But, if it’s Pinkie Pie who invited her, it’s got to be a lot of fun.” Later that night, Magenta arrived at Pinkie Pie’s house. She knocks on the door. The door opens wide as Pinkie Pie, wearing a white tank top and red sleep shorts, greeted the visitor. “Magenta! Thank you for coming. Come in!” Magenta comes into the house and follows Pinkie to her bedroom. “Wowie, Pinkie.” Magenta called. “ You don’t fool around when it comes to sleepovers.” “You got that right.” Pinkie replied. “And, there’s another surprise for you.” Just then, a white haired girl wearing a lime green T-shirt and blue sleep pants comes in. Magenta recognizes the girl. “Limestone! This is a surprise!” “Hey, Magenta.” Limestone greeted. “Pinkie told me that she invited you. So, she wanted me to join the fun.” “This is one cool gathering. Where are Marble and Maud?” “Marble is staying at a friend’s house and Maud is invited to the Canterlot Rock Museum for an overnight stay.” “So, it’s just the three of us!” Pinkie chirped. “How can we start things off?” “How about letting me slip into my own sleepwear.” Magenta answered. “Oh yeah. That’s true. Okey Dokey!” Five minutes later, Magenta came out wearing a yellow long sleeve shirt and marigold sleep shorts. Pinkie loved the look. “I like that sleepwear you’re wearing.” Pinkie Pie informed. “Thanks, Pinkie.” Magenta responded. “I chose this look because it’s like the colors of the sun setting.” “Looks good on you, Magenta!” Suddenly, Pinkie got hit with a pillow. She turns around and sees Limestone with the pillow in her hand. Pinkie got nervous. “What did I do wrong?” “Pinkie,” Limestone informed, “this is a great tradition in sleepovers.” Limestone raises the pillow. “Pillow fight!!” Pinkie picks up her own pillow. “It’s on!” Pinkie and Limestone start whacking each other with pillows, laughing all the way. Seeing the fun, Magenta picked up another pillow nearby, and hit both Pie sisters. “Hey, girls.” Magenta announced. “You can’t leave me out of the fun.” Limestone and Pinkie nodded, and all three engaged in the pillow fight, giggling in the process. Five minutes later, Pinkie and Magenta were relaxing after the battle. “I never knew you can use a pillow that well.” Pinkie chirped. “You’re good.” “Thanks, Pinkie.” Magenta replied. “That was fun!” Limestone came back with three small boxes in her hand. “Here we are, girls. Single serve pizzas for a good snack.” The three girls opened the boxes and enjoyed their food. Pinkie had a regular pizza, Limestone had meatball, and Magenta had ham and pineapple. “Ham and pineapple?” Pinkie yelped. “That’s different.” “I went on a tropical type vacation last summer.” Magenta explained. “That’s the inspiration behind this combo.” Limestone wipes her mouth as she listened to the conversation. “I heard any kind of pork goes well with pineapple. To each her own, I guess.” After their meal, the three girls got ready for sleep. Pinkie cuddled on her bed. And, Limestone and Magenta got into their sleeping bags. “Would you like my bed instead, Limestone?” Pinkie asked with concern. “Relax, sis.” Limestone replied. “I don’t mind being in a sleeping bag. Besides, this is your house. And, I’m your guest.” Pinkie felt better hearing that. The sisters looked at Magenta sleeping peacefully. “Looks like Magenta adjusts good.” Pinkie realized. “I guess she does.” Limestone said as she puts her head on a pillow. “Good night, Pinkie.” “Good night, Limestone.” Getting comfortable, the Pie sisters soon fell asleep. The next morning, Magenta and the Pie Sisters were eating breakfast around 7am. They each had a bagel and orange juice. Pinkie and Limestone put butter on their bagels. But, Magenta puts peanut butter and jelly on hers. “PB and J?” Limestone yelped. “You sure are full of surprises.” “That I am.” Magenta responded. “I’m impressed that you two have breakfast early in the morning.” “Sometimes it’s necessary. On the rock farm, we of the Pie family like to eat early so that we can be ready for a day of harvesting. Right, Pinkie?” “That’s for sure.” Pinkie answered with a mouth full of food. “When I do help sometimes, I got to be ready.” Later, around 8:30, Magenta dressed in exercise clothes, slipped on her backpack, and carried a purple mat as she prepares to leave. “Thanks for the good time, ladies.” Magenta praised. “No problem, Magenta.” Limestone said. “Glad you dropped in.” “Don’t forget,” Pinkie informed, “tonight’s the big slumber party.” Magenta smiled at Pinkie. “I won’t forget. Time for me to head for my yoga class. Bye.” Magenta waved goodbye to the sisters. And, they waved back. As Magenta heads to her yoga class, she realized that Pinkie is right. With the big slumber party coming up at night, who knows what surprises are in store for her.
8. The Main Slumber EventView OnlineOperation:Sleepover8. The Main Slumber EventMagenta packed up her sleepwear, sleeping bag, and extra clothes. She was heading for the door when her mother stopped her for a moment. “Well, Magenta,” Willow Whisp said, “this is it. The big slumber party. Ready for this?” “I sure am.” Magenta answered. “This is a great way to finish this week off.” “Where is it being held anyway?” “Twilight texted me the location. At the home of Filthy Rich and Spoiled Rich.” Willow’s eyes widened. “Didn’t you shovel their driveway and walkway a few times during the winter?” “Yes, I did.” Magenta replied. “And, they treat me to some hot chocolate afterwards. Their big house is fantastic.” Willow hugged her daughter. “Have fun, honey. And, sleep well.” “I will.” Magenta left the house and headed for the Rich estate. Twenty minutes later, she arrived at the house. She knocks at the door. Seconds later, Spoiled Rich answered the door. “Hello, Magenta Whisp.” Spoiled Rich greeted. “It’s nice to see you attending this little shindig.” “Hi, Spoiled Rich.” Magenta replied. “Any of the Rainbooms arrived.” “Yes. All seven are present and accounted for. Come in, my dear.” Magenta enters the house. Spoiled Rich leads her to another room. “You can get changed into your sleepwear in here.” Magenta was very grateful. “Thank you.” She enters the room to change clothes. In another room of the house, all seven girls, already in their sleepwear, are enjoying each other’s company. “Great way to spend Saturday night. Right, girls.” Twilight Sparkle wondered. “You said it, Twi.” Rainbow Dash replied as she gets comfy. “I wonder what can make this night better.” Seconds later, Magenta enters the room in her sleepwear. “How about ME, Dashie?” The girls were happy to see their friend. “Magenta!” Pinkie cheered. “You made it.” “Of course, Pinkie. Opportunity knocks, I answer.” As Magenta enters the room, Rarity sees what she was wearing. “I love your sleep capris, darling.” Rarity cooed. “Midnight blue with white stars. Very appropriate.” Twilight agrees. “Rarity is right. Where did you find those pants?” “I found them in a department store near my house.” Magenta answered. “It’s also where I got this long sleeve shirt.” “Peacock blue with a white crescent moon.” Sunset Shimmer indicated. “Pretty good combination you have there.” “Thanks, Sunset.” Spoiled Rich enters the room. “Happy that all of you are here?” “We sure are, ma’am.” Applejack responded. “Excellent. You don’t have to worry about my daughter, Diamond Tiara. She’s spending the night at Silver Spoon’s house. If you need anything, let me know.” As Spoiled Rich leaves, the girls soon discuss about Magenta’s sleepover week. “So, Magenta.” Twilight started to ask. “Are you still surprised about this whole week?” “For sure.” Magenta answered. “I never expected something this cool.” “Which night did you like the best, dearie?” Rarity asked. “All of them. Staying at Twilight, Rarity, and Pinkie’s houses, Spitfire’s beach house, at a hotel, a farm, and the great outdoors.” “Outdoors as in with Fluttershy, right?” Sunset asked. “That’s correct.” Fluttershy answered. “Magenta even took pictures of animals in the forest we stayed at.” Magenta pulled a few pictures from her duffel bag. They were pictures of many animals. Including an eagle flying in the sky. “That eagle looks awesome!” Rainbow cheered. “Thanks, Rainbow.” Magenta praised. “One of the best pictures I ever took.” Thirty minutes later, Spoiled Rich came into the room with two big boxes in her hand. “Pizzas are here, dearies.” Applejack picked up the boxes. “Thank you kindly, ma’am.” “You’re welcome.” Soon, the girls were munching on the pizzas. “Mmmm.” Twilight hummed. “This pizza is good.” “You said it, Twi.” Magenta agreed. “If it only had pineapples on it.” Rarity was surprised to hear that. “Pineapples?” “Must be a tropical theme for her.” Sunset figured. “Don’t knock it, Sunset.” Pinkie said. “When Magenta stayed over my house last night, she had a single serve pizza with ham and pineapples. Looked interesting.” Magenta soon had a thought. “By the way, Sunset. I heard Wallflower Blush learned something from that garden expo you attended.” “You’re right about that.” Sunset replied. “Thanks to that expo, her garden looks beautiful.” “That’s good to know.” After the food, the girls talked a bit more. “I must admit.” Rarity explained. “You were right, Magenta. You DO have a good variety of sleepwear.” “Thank you, Rarity.” Magenta said. “What did she wear at your place, Rarity?” Fluttershy asked. Rarity gave Fluttershy an answer. “This young lady was in a beautiful short sleeve nightgown. It shows off her elegant side.” “That’s not my only side.” Magenta confirmed. “Applejack can agree with that.” “Magenta’s right.” Applejack interjected. “She wore a basic nightshirt when she stayed with me.” “I saw her pajamas when she stayed at the hotel Wallflower and I stayed at.” Sunset added. “That’s also basic.” After a little while , all right girls fell asleep. Spoiled Rich looked in on them. She was astounded. “Those young ladies sure look peaceful.” Spoiled Rich whispered to herself. “I shall not disturb them.” Spoiled Rich quietly walked upstairs to her own bedroom, so she can get some sleep. The sun rises on the day after. One by one, the girls stirred and woke up. “The start of a new day.” Twilight chirped happily. Pinkie rose up quick. “I slept like a baby last night.” “So did I.” Applejack added as she woke up. Rarity, Fluttershy, Magenta, and Sunset followed. “Some night last night. Huh, girls?” Sunset asked. “Some week for me.” Magenta added. “This has been the best week ever for me.” At 7am, the girls were enjoying some bagels, donuts, and muffins Spoiled Rich set up. Everyone enjoyed the food. “I found out why my trip to Fillydelphia got cancelled.” Magenta figured. “What did you learn, Magenta?” Rarity wondered. “One of my great aunts died two weeks ago. My relatives figured I would get very upset if I went there.” “Probably wants you not to break down.” Twilight figured. Minutes later, Diamond Tiara came home from her sleepover. “Hello, mother. I’m home.” “Welcome home, my dear.” Spoiled Rich cheered. “How was you night with Silver Spoon?” “It was grand. Any bagels available?” Magenta passed an everything bagel, cut and buttered, over to Diamond Tiara. “Thank you, miss Whisp.” Diamond said. “Just the way I like it.” Magenta left the house and waved goodbye to everyone. She was very happy. This has been a fun eight nights.
9. Sleepover Week in ReviewView OnlineOperation:Sleepover9. Sleepover Week in ReviewAround 10am, Magenta brought her clothes to the laundromat, including a lot of her sleepwear. As she was munching on a bagel, Trixie appeared. “Greetings from the Great and Powerful Trixie!” Trixie announced. Magenta Whisp shook her head in silent laughter. “Like to make your presence felt. Don’t you?” “When you have a good thing going, why waste it?” Trixie sat next to Magenta, hoping to get some information. “How was your week of sleepovers, Magenta?” “It was fantastic!” Magenta cheered. “Every night was like magic.” “You said that you spent the night at Twilight’s house on night one. How about the other nights.” Magenta was hoping she would ask that question. “Here’s how it went, Trixie. I spent night two at Applejack’s house, night three with Rarity, and night four with Sunset and Wallflower at a hotel.” Trixie’s eyes widened. “Ah. The garden expo. I heard Wallflower learned a lot from that event. Please continue.” Magenta continued her story. “Night five was with Rainbow Dash at Spitfire’s beach house, night six was a camping trip with Fluttershy, night seven was at Pinkie Pie’s house, and last night was a big slumber party at the Rich house.” “What?!” Trixie yelped. “You and the Rainbooms were at Filthy Rich and Spoiled Rich’s house? How did you manage that?” “Don’t ask me, Trixie. I was just invited.” Trixie was astounded about the week Magenta had. “I wish I had friends like those seven girls. Then again, I wish I had any friends. Time to go. Bye, Magenta.” Trixie left the laundromat. That gave Magenta some breathing room. Later that night, Magenta slipped on her long sleeve nightgown, and prepared for bed. As she was sitting on the bed, her mother came in. “Hey, Magenta.” Willow greeted. “Are you okay?” “I guess so.” Magenta answered. “It feels strange being in my own room. Where have eight days gone so fast?” “To think, it all started when you couldn’t go to Fillydelphia because of a funeral. That’s where I helped out.” “Right. You called Twilight Sparkle and told her about my problem. Then, she and her friends set up the sleepover week.” Willow sat next to her daughter. “Let’s talk about that week. Tell me about night one with Twilight.” “Nothing special.” Magenta answered. “I just spent the night at her house.” “Very basic. I like it. How about night two with Applejack?” Magenta straightened out her hair. “After I had that tasty dinner she and her family cooked up, I went outside to watch the setting sun over the Apple trees.” Willow had a thought. “With your shoes off. Right?” Magenta got a shock. “ How did you know?” “You left for Sweet Apple Acres wearing your overalls, honey. I figured you would be like a barefoot farm girl.” Magenta’s face went a little bit red. “Oh, right. Good guess.” “Anyway, what happened during night three?” “I went to Rarity’s house.” Magenta explained. “I dressed elegantly, knowing what Rarity is like. I even put on my beautiful short sleeve nightgown. Rarity was very impressed with me.” “Besides nice fashions,” Willow interrupted, “what else did you do?” “Me, Rarity, and Sweetie Belle sat together to watch a movie.” Willow was happy to hear that. “Nice of Rarity to let Sweetie Belle join you guys. What about night four?” “Glad you asked.” Magenta said. “I went to a hotel in Canterlot City where I spent the night with Sunset Shimmer and Wallflower Blush.” “That’s right. The garden expo Wallflower was looking forward to.” “That’s right. I’m happy that Spitfire and her mom took me there. They were going to the city anyway to attend a birthday party.” “That’s where you got that slice of cake from.” Willow uttered, shaking with silent laughter. “Speaking of Spitfire, what happened at her beach house during night five?” “Well, mom,” Magenta confirmed, “after an afternoon of surfing with Rainbow Dash and Spitfire, the three of us attended a barbecue that Spitfire’s mom, Stormy Flare, and Soarin Skies prepared. As I was relaxing, the sounds of the ocean lulled me to sleep.” “Sounds like fun.” Willow chirped. “Speaking of sounds of nature, how was night six? The camp out with Fluttershy.” “Beautiful. You saw the pictures I took of the animals. Didn’t you?” “I sure did. They turned of lovely.” Magenta was happy to know her mother loved her pictures. “Thanks, mom.” Willow stood up again, smoothing out her pajamas. “Tell me about night seven.” “I spent the night with Pinkie Pie.” Magenta answered. “And, her sister, Limestone was there too.” “Limestone?” Willow yelped. “That’s a big shock. Finally, what happened last night?” Magenta stood up and stretched. “I went to the luxurious home of Spoiled Rich. I found myself in a guest room, occupied by all seven Rainbooms.” “Wow!” Willow cheered. “How did that go?” “More quietly than I thought. We just talked about all of our experiences, especially mine. We then had pizza, and then, went to sleep.” Magenta and Willow engaged in a sweet hug. “I’m glad you had fun this week.” Willow praised. “Aren’t you glad I called Twilight that day?” “I am.” Magenta replied. “And, thanks.” Magenta laid down on her bed, and got comfortable. Willow gave her daughter a sweet kiss. “Good night, Magenta.” Willow leaves the room, and closes the door. “Good night, mom.” Magenta replied quietly. She turned off her lamp, and went straight to sleep. The next morning, Magenta’s alarm clock goes off, and she wakes up refreshed. Soon, she gets dressed, packs her backpack, prepares her lunch and heads out the door. “Bye, mom.” Magenta calls out. “See you after school.” Magenta arrives at Canterlot High School, feeling happy and relaxed. After putting stuff in her locker, she heads for her first class when she ran into Principal Celestia. “Morning, Principal Celestia.” Magenta said. “Good morning, Magenta Whisp.” Principal Celestia responded. “Had a nice week off?” “Yes, ma’am.” Magenta knows one thing as she walks to class. This was one Spring Recess she’ll never forget. THE END Author's Note I figured to create a character of my own to be the subject of this story.
5. Surfin’ SleepoverView OnlineOperation:Sleepover5. Surfin’ SleepoverAfter hanging the wash outside in the backyard, Magenta Whisp feels good about it. The clothesline her mother set up was a good idea. “All the clothes are hung.” Magenta said to herself. “Mom would be proud of me.” At around 12:00, Magenta finish making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. After grabbing some chips and a glass of milk, she sits on the couch to watch the news. As she was enjoying her lunch, she heard the front door open. It was her mother, which got her scared. “What are you doing home early?” Magenta asked with concern. “Did you get fired?” Willow calmed her daughter down. “No, silly. My job is close to home. Remember?” “So? What’s with the early arrival?” “I sometimes come home during my lunch hour. And, I have some frozen entrees in the freezer.” Just then, Magenta’s phone signaled a text. She got excited when she saw the message. “Who is it from this time?” Willow asked. “It’s a message from Rainbow Dash.” Magenta answered. “She said that she’s going to Spitfire’s beach house for some surfing, a barbecue, and spending the night.” Willow Whisp had an idea. “I’m guessing Rainbow Dash invited you to join them.” “Good guess.” Magenta replied. “She said if I’m to join them, I should be over by 3:00 today.” “Magenta. After your lunch, pack up for night number five. And, be sure you pack your swimwear and wetsuit. I’m sure Spitfire and Dashie would love to see your surfing skills.” “Good idea, mom. It’s surfs up for me!” Later that day, Magenta walks down the street, carrying her duffel bag and wetsuit. She soon reached Spitfire’s beach house. Magenta knocks on the door, and was answered by Spitfire’s mom, Stormy Flare. “Hello, Magenta.” Stormy greeted. “Nice of you to come over.” “Hi, Miss Flare.” Magenta responded. “I hope you don’t mind me being an overnight guest.” “The more the merrier, I often say. Come in.” Magenta comes into the house. She puts her duffel bag by the living room couch as Stormy Flare sees her wetsuit. “Getting ready for surfing, dear?” Stormy asked. “Yes, ma’am.” Magenta answered. “I can balance well thanks to doing yoga.” “Hmmm. Don’t go away.” Stormy Flare leaves the room for a bit. She returns with a lime green surfboard. “I didn’t know you’re a surfer too?” Magenta yelped. “When I was a youngster,” Stormy explained, “I can ride the waves with ease. With this board, you can show Spitfire and Rainbow Dash how good you are.” “Where are Spitfire and Rainbow Dash anyway? Dashie is the one who invited me to this sleepover.” “Those two are at the beach with their boards. You better change so you can join them.” “Got it!” Outside at the beach, Rainbow Dash and Spitfire, wearing their swimsuits, watch the waves. “Think you can handle those waves, Dash?” Spitfire asked. “You bet.” Rainbow Dash answered. “You’d be impressed with my skills.” “Just try to keep up with me.” Then, Magenta shows up wearing her crimson wetsuit and carrying Stormy Flare’s surfboard. “The sun is shining, the weather is warm, and the waves are perfect to ride. How’s it going, guys?” “Now, that’s an entrance.” Spitfire cheered. “Hey, Magenta.” Rainbow called. “Welcome to the party!” Magenta was happy to hear that. “Thanks, Dashie. I’m happy to get your invitation. This is going to be one groovy good time.” Spitfire walked up to Rainbow’s guest. “I see my mom is lending you her surfboard. That helped her win a lot of surfing contests.” “That’s what she told me, Spitfire. Wait until you see what I can do.” Spitfire soon picked up her board. “On that note, let’s hit the water!” Magenta’s eyes widened. “Really? You’re ready to tame those waves?” Rainbow Dash liked that comment. “Tame the waves. I like that. Come on, Magenta. Let’s see how good a surfer YOU are.” Spitfire and Rainbow carry their boards and head for the water. Magenta picked up her board, and followed . “You and Spitfire asked for it, Dashie.” In the water, the three girls wait for a good wave. Spitfire spotted one and turned to Magenta. “Here comes a big wave. Think you can handle it, Magenta?” “I sure can.” Magenta answered. “You and Rainbow will really be surprised.” Rainbow Dash called out to the others. “Here it comes!” The wave was big. But, the three surfer girls rode it. Everyone was whooping up a storm as they ride the wave. “This is awesome!” Rainbow Dash shouted. “The waves today are truly fierce.” “I’m with you, Dashie!” Magenta excitedly replied. “YAHOO!!” The three girls rode the wave, having a great time. Minutes later, they were resting up, happy about the wave. “You were fantastic!” Spitfire chirped to Magenta. “How did you manage to stay on the board?” Magenta gave a good answer to Spitfire. “Doing yoga exercises helped me maintain my balance. That’s why I didn’t wipe out.” Rainbow Dash walked up to Magenta and gave her a big smile. “When you said ‘tame the waves’, you weren’t kidding.” “Thanks, Rainbow Dash.” Stormy Flare walked up to the three girls. “Pardon the interruption. But, Soarin’ Skies and I were cooking on the barbecue while you were surfing.” “That’s great, mom.” Spitfire responded. “Come and get it!” The girls picked up their boards and headed for the beach house. Everyone was chowing down on hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs, and ribs with bottles of water to wash down the food. “This food is delicious, Spitfire.” Magenta praised. “I know.” Spitfire replied. “I guess mom and Soarin’ make a good team at the barbecue.” Rainbow wiped BBQ sauce from her mouth. “Mmmm. You and Soarin’ did great, Stormy Flare.” “Thank you, Rainbow Dash.” Stormy responded. “I’m happy when our cooking is appreciated.” Later that night, Magenta changed into a red T shirt and blue sleep shorts and laid down on the couch as Rainbow Dash in her own sleepwear comes in. “Some day. Huh, Magenta?” Rainbow asked. “You said it.” Magenta answered. “This has been some week for me.” “Don’t forget about our big slumber party this Saturday.” “No worries. After all, mom helped make this week happen in the beginning.” Rainbow Dash startes to leave. “Nighty night, pal.” After cuddling with her blanket, Magenta fell asleep. The next morning around 7:30am, Magenta was back in her own house. She was having breakfast with Willow and Lavender. “You must’ve had a great day. Huh, sis?” Lavender asked. “Surfing, a barbecue, and the sounds of the beach lulling me to sleep,” Magenta praised, “it sure was a great day.” Willow put down her glass to give Magenta some information. “So far you were with Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rarity, Sunset Shimmer, and Rainbow Dash. I wonder who will prepare night number six for you.” Magenta was wondering that herself. “I agree. I wonder what’s next.”
