The fillies all around town practicing their Nightmare Night phrase for when they go to gather treats from door to door. Even Nightmare Night is being celebrated at the School of Friendship with pony and creature students embracing the old tradition with a mixture of their own. Walking around and viewing all being displayed was none other than the tropical ninja detective friend, Chetgeki. With him were both the Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle and her faithful and loyal companion, Spike. “Gosh, everything so far is coming together nicely.” Spike shared his thoughts. “Mhmm. There isn’t a time anypony has not got anything mixed up during Holidays like these.” Twilight replied. “I am impressed that you all have a spooky themed Holiday during this time of the year. Back on my island, we hardly had leaves falling off the palm trees, due to fact that its always summer over southwest of Equestria. Aside from knowing what HeartsWarming was all about during the Winter season, I am curious what this NightMare Night’s all about.” Chet being curious. “Well, originally, NightMare Night is a very spooky tradition when after Luna became Nightmare Moon and when Celestia banished her to the Moon, the residents of Equestria decided to make a national holiday whenever we enter the Fall Season, and the Autumn Moon blooms bright,” Twilight explained, “Legend has it that on NightMare Night, they say that Nightmare Moon’s spirit would return to gobble up anypony if no treats were given in front of her Statue, placed in the Everfree Forest.” “Hold up, I know that you once told me about Nightmare Moon’s return and when you girls defeated her, she turned back into Luna yes?” Chet asked. “Yes, although Luna did have a hard time trying to fit into our modern time, even tried to be a part of Nightmare Night.” Twilight confirmed. “That is if not for Twilight’s help, Luna would still be not accepted and left out,” Spike pointed out, as Twilight glared at him, “Right not helping.” “All that aside, everything did work out for NightMare Night.” Twilight spoke. “Yeah, until the following year when Fluttershy finally had the guts to scare us during the Corn Maze.” Spike mentioned as he was still feeling creeped out from that time. “Ah, I remember you telling me that story,” Chet replied, “Still find that hard to believe that some pony afraid of her own shadow ended up terrifying you all.” “Yeah,” Twilight sheepishly giggled, “But then afterwards, she decided to spend the rest of NightMare Night at home with her animals in her little safe house.” “And so this year she is doing the same deal, yes?” Chet inquired. “Mhmm.” Twilight nodded. “Fraid so.” Spike sighed. The three kept on walking for a little bit more, until suddenly and idea popped into Chet’s mind. “Hey! I just have an idea.” Chet spoke “What is it, Chet?” Twilight wondered. “Well, for on thing, I never told you about one of my other traditions we have on my island at this time of the year and it’s related to NightMare Night. All the residents of my village create a bonfire, roast food, and even tell terrifying tales, myths, and legends that is known to our world,” Chet explained, “How about we do this for NightMare Night tomorrow night and invite the girls along with the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and some of our students from the school to join us and experience my Holiday tradition.” “I think that’s a great idea,” Twilight spoke, “I’m always curious to know what other traditions you have on your island, as much as wanting to experience some.” “Wait a minute, are you suggesting we skip out on the trick or treating part in our costumes of NightMare Night?” Spike asked in shock. “No no, we can’t forget about that,” Twilight explained, “I think we what we can do is get our candy early, still wear our costumes and just meet up for the bonfire and experience telling Spooky Tales.” “Exactly,” Chet also shared his thoughts, “In fact to show the Spirit of Night Mare Night, I too shall dress up as we proceed the Bonfire Tales.” “Question being, who are you gonna be?” Spike asked in curiosity. “Ah, you will have to wait and see tomorrow night, my little purple friend.” Chet replied with a sly grin on his face. “Well I say let’s do it.” Twilight declared. “Yeah!” Spike cheered. “Agreed.” Chet spoke. “Lets go ahead and find the others and tell them what we’re planning to do,” Twilight spoke. “Hold on, I think there’s one that might not want to come.” Spike pointed out, with he three realizing that Fluttershy might not want to join. “Not to worry Spikey boy,” Chet replied, “Leave her to me.” The two nodded and trotted off to tell the others while Chet set off to Fluttershy’s cottage to try and persuade her to join. Meanwhile, not far from Ponyville at the cottage of Fluttershy, she herself was in a rush mode like a scared rabbit getting everything all prepared for the terrible night to commence tomorrow night. All curtains were closed quickly, doors and windows locked and barricaded, and she even got her secret safe house all prepped and ready, courtesy from her animal friends. “Phew. Once again I am all set and ready for tomorrow night. This time a little early. Thank you all for your help my friends,” Fluttershy thanked all her friends embracing them in gratitude before turning to her pet bunny, Angel, “And I haven’t forgotten about your stash. ” Fluttershy showed him the stash that is full of carrots as he requested once before. With that Angel hopped on her back and got close to her head and nuzzled her, much to Fluttershy liking it. With all accomplished, Fluttershy felt at ease, until she heard something knocking on her door. Feeling her usual shuttering, she fluttered over to her door and spoke. “Wh-who i-i-is i-i-it?” Fluttershy trembled. “It’s just me Flutters, Chetgeki.” Chet called from the other side of the door. Fluttershy unlocked the locks, opened the door, and without hesitation, quickly grabbed Chet, pulled him inside and then re-locked everything. Took a few second for Chet to regain himself from that quick force. “Sorry about that, Chet,” Fluttershy went over and tidy up Chet's trench coat, “I’m just in one of my scared modes.” “I know Fluttershy. Because of this NightMare Night Holiday tomorrow night,” Chet replied as he continued to brush off, “I’ve been told of this.” “Then you know that every year whenever NightMare Night comes, I get too scared to even set foot outside with all spooky things occurring out there at night.” Fluttershy reminded with the facts. “Yes, I recall, except the one year when your pet bunny wanted you to go get more carrots and then further on when Spike suggested that you joined up with the others?” Chet asked. “Yes. Angel, little stubborn, refused to eat any other veggies in his stash, forcing me to go out on NightMare Night,” Fluttershy stated while feeling a bit shaky, “And when Spike said that, it got me thinking that maybe it would do me some good to join my friends on this Holiday. But things just did not work out. I tried to host a haunted tea party but none of them were scared or seem to be enjoying that. I wanted to try to step it up with the scare factor with a little help from Angel. We ended up doing that at the Corn Maze at Sweet Apple Acres. But it ended up getting way out of hand when my friends were really scared and feeling they were danger. I couldn’t bear to watch them in their frightful state. Over all, I just don’t think I’m cut up with NightMare Night,” Fluttershy explaining the story while feeling a bit guilty, “But I’m fine with that and my friends understand that.” “As do I,” Chet replied, “But I think you might change your mind after hearing what I have to say.” And so Chet explained the same way he told Twilight and Spike with after doing their usual traditions on NightMare night, they would then have a get together at their usual spot for afternoon picnic days with a campfire, and sweet treats, while trying to save the spot stories as a surprise. At first Fluttershy wasn't really sure or fond of the idea taking place on NightMare night, but when she looked at her animal friends, they believe it was a splendid idea and urged her to join them. Fluttershy looked at Chet and spoke, “I’m not really fond of having campfire picnics at night, especially on (gulps) NightMare Night, but I know our friends will be there. You really think it will be different this year if we do this on NightMare Night?” “I assure you, sweet Fluttershy, not only our friends will be there, but our students and the Cutie Mark Crusaders will join us as well. They’ll be very pleased that we do something different this year,” Chet replied, “Besides it’s not like we will be doing this in the Everfree Forrest, which I know it is not safe for any of us at night anyway and nothing dangerous will happen. And if you do get scared, you can either head home to your safe house, or another option, you can sit close to me if you need to cling onto something.” “Well, I suppose I could give it a try,” Fluttershy started to feel a bit better after hearing more details, “And I think I’ll try to stay as long as I can as long as we’re not being in real danger.” “You have my word Flutters.” Chet promised Fluttershy then went over to Chet and nuzzled him, “Thank you Chet. I’ll come tomorrow night.” “Excellent. Will look forward to tomorrow night,” Chet replied, “Now I must go and get everything arranged. I will have some pony come and escort you to the spot once their Trick or Treating is done. I’ll see you there.” “See you there too.” Fluttershy waved as Chet took his leave to prepare for tomorrow night. You’re Scared!As NightMare Night was closing in, all ponies around Ponyville were out and about dressed up and started their own festivities. While Twilight, Spike, the rest of the Mane Six were dressed up too. Twilight was going as a Mad Scientist (or Mad Twience) with a Lab coat, pony gloves, science goggles, her reading glasses, some pencils tucked her lab coat pocket, and another pencil and quill tucked in her messy frizzled mane bun. Spike as always dressed up as a dragon, but with two more heads of himself with his claws controlling the two, made some horns on top of the head and his own, another tail made along with his own, and also made some adjustments so that his wings could easily slip through. Applejack was all decked with silver tin cans (around her arms, legs), an empty silver trash can around her torso, a big silver funnel wearing on her head, and finally carrying around with her is a toy chopping ax. Fluttershy could not really decide on anything she wanted to wear for NightMare night. She did however went with the obvious choice, her secret agent outfit from when the time Trixie had the Alicorn Amulet and recently from the time when Twilight and her brother Shining Armor had to settle their sibling rivalry. On Fluttershy’s back was Angel who once again dressed up as Dracula (Or perhaps Bunnicula). Pinkie Pie dressed as an Arabian belly dancer with a stuffed snake around her neck. Rarity, being a major fashionista and recent love for mysteries, dressed up in her detective outfit after her recent time with Twilight and Shining Armor’s rivalry. Rainbow Dash was going as a gargoyle with the usual ears, wings, horns, and tail. Along with the girls and Spike were the Cutie Mark Crusaders and the Young Six who joined up after going through their trick or treating montage. They all too were dressed up for the occasion. Applebloom was wearing her cowpony/yodeling mix outfit. Sweetie Belle decked out her outfit of one of the Pony Pop Stars, Countess Coloratora. And Scootaloo was dressed in her Dare Deviling Washout outfit, only for costume, nothing daring after what happened not long ago. For Sandbar he was going as a super pony with a familiar super hero hairdo, red cape, and blue muscle with super pony logo on his chest. Ocellus went as a Fairy Princess with glitters and a changing made crown. Yona dawned up a Viking theme attire. Gallus was all decked out in Griffin Knight Armor . Smolder dressed herself as a Vampire Fruit Bat. And finally Silverstream as a Merpony or Siren, similar to Rarity’s old one. Soon enough the whole group made their way to the location that Chet suggested, carrying with them all the treats that have collected. They came upon an open field with a few trees growing around. They all then saw a spot in front of an old tree with a campfire lit up, a bucket full of water to put out the fire when it’s all said and done, log and boulder seats around the fire for the group to rest on. At first they all seem comfortable and got things going with chit chatting. Discussing on how much treats they have been collecting and admiring their costumes this year. In all the while the Cutie Mark Crusaders started to wonder why they be out here in the night. “So now would some pony please tell us the most time honor tradition of NightMare Night?” Applebloom asked, “We’ve been cutting our Trick Or Treating short to know what this is all about.” Yeah why bring us and our treats all the way over here?” Sweetie Belle asked. “And why are we actually doing this at…..(gulp)..at night in front of a suspicious….campfire?” Scootaloo asked while being shaken in fear, still haven’t gotten over her fears from the last two campfire trips with her friends and sisters. Applejack, “Well, sugarcubes, from what we’ve been told, Chetgeki has a tradition at this time of the year on his island.” “And told us to bring lots and lots of treats to share and savor for this night.” Pinkie also pointed out, as she began to eat some of the treats. “And as good friends, we should experience whatever Chet wishes to share from his home with us,” Twilight explained while trying to not let slip the real reason, “After all, not everyday we get to experience a new deal during the Holidays.” “Hold on, you said this whole thing was Master Chetgeki’s idea, where is he anyway?” Gallus pondered, as did the rest. Suddenly to everyone’s surprise a smoke bomb poofed out of nowhere and in place in front of the campfire, stood a figure all dressed in a tuxedo and his face painted as skull with a familiar hat-wear. Why it was none other than Chet who started to laugh in cheer. “HA HA!! Fellow creatures of the night, welcome to the first annual Night Mare Night Story Circle. The time of the year where anyone shares a story full of spooky, creepy, and bizarre tales that will make your mane frizzled up, your feathers plucking, and your scales quivering…..but mostly having a good laugh of it!” Chet explained. Hearing what Chet said, got most of the group excited over the idea for this year, except perhaps Fluttershy, Scootaloo, and Ocellus whom clung onto each other. “Oh dear.” Fluttershy shaken in fright. “You’ve got to be kidding!” Scootloo shrieked. “Um Sensei Chetgeki, don’t scary stories just, well you know sacre everybody?” Ocellus asked in concern. Rainbow Dash flew right behind him and spoke, “Only the really good ones.” “Ha! Yona not scared of scary stories!” Yona declared. “Neither am I.” Smolder agreeing. “Ditto.” Spike agreeing with the two. “Ooooo! I love scary stories.” Silverstream cheered in excitement. “Pfft scary stories, big whoop.” Gallus not feeling amused. “Come on, Gallus, it could be fun.” Sandbar try to cheer Gallus up. “Oh sure.” Gallus sarcastically agreed. The others laughed at the idea as Chet came over to the three clinging on together. “Come come, girls, this be the whole point after all,” Chet assured her, “It's fun to be scared.” With that a creepy song started to play with Chet first to start singing Chet: When the hairs on the back on your neck Stand straight up and make you think what the heck When you hear noises that you can’t explain And you get a nervous feeling in your stomach and your brain Everyone: You’re scared! Ooooooo You’re scared! Ooooooo Sitting outside while the campfire glow You’re not all alone and everybody knows Its fun to be scared! Chet and Rainbow with a spooky masks: Psst. BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA!! Rainbow Dash: When you hear a story that’s really bizarre You wish that you were home instead of where you are When your goosebumps jump and you feel unease When you start to walk, but you got quivering knees Everyone: You’re scared! Ooooooo Your’e scared! Ooooooo Sitting outside while the campfire glow You’re not all alone and everybody knows It’s fun to be scared! It’s fun to be scared! Ooooooooooooooo!!!!! As they stop singing and started to sit down, they once again laughed at this fun merriment. While Fluttershy, Scootaloo and Ocellus are still not convinced. “Um, no offense, Chet, but I don’t think it’s such a good to be telling scary stories on NightMare Night.” Flutterhsy still feeling shaken. “Me too.” Scootaloo clung on to Fluttershy. “Me three.” Ocellus clung onto the other two. “Well, on my island, we tried telling them during the other seasons, but for some reason they never caught on,” Chet shared, as he then took his seat in between Twilight and Fluttershy, “Besides, even if you three do get scared, just know your friends are not leaving you out here alone.” “Chetgeki is correct, darlings,” Rarity spoke, “You know we don’t get scared easily. It’s quite fun to be scared together, but not too scared.” Everyone else agreed once again. The three girls, clung onto each other smiled, feeling a little better from Chet’s words as he continued to speak, “So who like to go first in this event?” “Ooo! Ooo! Me! Me! Me!” Pinkie offered, as she got up and stood in front of the campfire, “This is a story about four brave explorers. Two pairs of sisters, much like the four of you!” Pinkie pointed over Applejack, Applebloom, Rarity and Sweetie Belle, who then all smiled in excitement as Pinkie then began telling the story. Author's Note Chapter was based off from the scene of an episode from Adventures in Wonderland (A Wonderland Howl-O-Ween) The Swamp Beast of Ooey Gooey LagoonPinkie began narrating, “These four explorers set out to explore the mysterious, enchanted Ooey Gooey Lagoon. No explorers who have ever entered the lagoon have ever been heard from again!” As from what Pinkie started the story, a group of ponies, two earth and two unicorns, strangely looking like Applejack, Applebloom, Rarity and Sweetie Belle, were on a boat with a lantern lighting the way through the dark lagoon. Applejack was busy guiding the boat through the lagoon mush, Sweetie Belle is taking in the sites through her binoculars, Rarity polishing her hooves and horn while trying to ignore the icky environment, and Applebloom was busy writing in her journal. “So, Applebloom, what you writing today in your official explorer’s journal?” asked Sweetie Belle as Applebloom responded in her Captain’s Log impression. “Captain’s Log, lagoon date 54 21.2, my sister, my close friends, and I have been making our way through the lagoon for 19 days now. So far all we’ve seen is a lot of mud, a lot of alligators, and one really bad rest stop.” Applebloom read. “Oh, and Applebloom darling, be sure to put a warning for future explorers. Stay away from the food it has. They are just ghastly (Blech)!” Rarity spoke in her disgusted tone. “Aw, come on now, Rarity, the food didn’t taste all that bad.” Sweetie Belle replied in defense. “Sweetie’s right Rare, y’all really need to get into outdoors more often,” Applejack spoke, “That there might actually do ya some good.” “It hasn’t even been doing some ‘good’ to my complection!” Rarity said, as she then sniffed the air and tried to get that away with her perfume, “Eeewww, talk about some serious swamp gas!!” “Well, one thing is for certain, we certainly haven’t spotted…..the Creature of the Ooey Gooey Lagoon!” Applebloom spoke with a spooky tone. “Now that because there ain’t one sugarcube.” Applejack chuckled and snorted as Applebloom and Rarity joined her. “Yeah, probably just some tall tale the locals share to other travelers just to keep them away from the Lagoon.” Applebloom spoke in between laughs. “Yeah only to just hide something valuable deep within the Lagoon waters.” Sweetie Belle shared more info. “Indeed Sweetie, it could mean that there might be some buried treasure full of glamorous hunks of gems, diamonds, and all sorts of splendid Divine crystals that I simply must find to fashion up new lines of wear at my Boutique!” Rarity gleamed in excitement with images of diamonds in her eyes. It suddenly changed when a fly was buzzing around her and then see smack it her face, much to her disgust. She then quickly whipped it off and cleaned it in her usual way, “Or perhaps it might be a bottle of extreme bug repellent, I simply cannot take much more of this!” The three girls laughed as then Applebloom spoke in disappointment, “Actually I’m kinda disappointed that we didn’t find the Lagoon Monster.” “Don’t be, little sis, I recon it still just an old wives tale.” Applejack spoke as she continued to steer the boat. A moment of silence was placed for a moment, until Sweetie Belle broke that silence “I think I know why we haven’t seen it,” Sweetie Belle spoke, “Probably just getting some beauty sleeping deep within these muddy waters.” “So…..let’s wake him up!” Applebloom grinned. Once again music started playing, only in a swampy theme. As the three sang, all Rarity could do is just listen and felt even more disgusted by it. Together: Swamp Stomp. It’s the thing to do Swamp Stomp Applejack: They tell me something in the swamp There’s crater doing the stomp But I don’t believe it Cause I sure haven’t seen it Applebloom: Sleeping in the goop Wearing feet instead of shoes But I don’t believe it Cause I sure haven’t seen it Applebloom: Its big as a tree trunk Sweetie: It drips with icky gunk Together: But I don’t believe it Cause I still haven’t seen it Swamp Stomp Applejack Get out of the goo Together: Swamp Stomp Applebloom: It’s the thing to doo Together (As they got out fishes from their sides and tossed them in the swamp): EYIIIEEEEE!!! Swamp Stomp Sweetie: Get out of the goo Together: Swamp Stomp Applebloom: It’s the thing to doo Together: Swamp Stomp Swamp Stomp STOMP!!! As the music stopped, the three once again laughed at the silliness. That is until Sweetie Belle spotted something in front of the boat. “Hey, there’s another boat over there.” Sweetie Belle pointed in that direction. They all looked at the other boat in front of them only to see that it has been abandoned, with holes and covered in moss, just floating alone in the misty fog of the Lagoon. “Or what’s left of that there boat.” Applejack replied. “What you recon happen to the ones who own that?” Applebloom asked. “I’m not quite sure, but one thing is certain, they will be having terrible vacation spots.” Rarity guessed as the girls giggled as little. “Wait a minute,” Sweetie Belle pondered,“You don’t think that has anything to do with the Lagoon Monster, do you?” ‘”Sweetie Belle, don’t be ridiculous,” Rarity denied the fact, “You heard what Applejack said, it is nothing but a myth.” “Maybe you’re right.” Sweetie felt a little relief. As the girls laughed and calmed themselves, unknown to them something rose from the mist of the water. It was two swampy hands with a few seaweed wrapped around the hands as they grabs hold of the boat and began to pull itself up. The girls then stop laughing and started to grew a little worry as they then saw the mist becoming more thicker and foggier. “I can’t see a darn thing,” Applejack confirmed, as she tried to start the boat again but for some strange reason it would not start, “And the motor here ain’t working fro some strange reason. I’m starting to think something is preventing us from proceeding through.” Applebloom spoke, “Ya know, there still is something fishy going on round here. I’m still getting a feeling that we’re not alone in this lagoon.” “Yeah me too, even the mists are becoming thicker around us.” Sweetie Belle share the fear. “Oh, listen to you two,” Rarity still denying, “Here we are lost in the misty lagoon, singing a song about a silly fish monster that does not really exist and now you’re worried that an actual fish monster is responsible for these unfortunate events?” As Rarity was busy rambling, the three looked behind her a saw the slouchy figure standing behind Rarity. The three started to shake in fright. “Uh, Rarity, ya might want to change yer physician on that,” Applejack spoke in fright, “Look behind ya!!” Rarity gave a glare to Applejack, but suddenly changed to a shocking look when she then heard a growl, slowly turned around behind her, she saw at first scaly fins and slowly started to look up. She saw the full body scale from feet to the face, seeing that it was a monster with slimy scales and a terrifying fish face with very sharp teeth, bugging red eyes and sea weed all over his body. That monster was indeed confirm to be the Monster of the Ooey Gooey Lagoon! The beast does indeed not only look terrifying, but also looks hungry! The girls then let out a loud scream as the monster moved towards them only leaving a dark shadow upon them and it cuts to black. Only sound was heard was a big gulp and everything fell into silence. “And to this day, no pony knows what ever became of the four explorers. Their boat remained empty and floating alone floating in the middle of the Lagoon. As for the journal, it was found at the edge of the lagoon. Curiously, the last entry was written by a different hoof writing!” The story ended as it refocused on Pinkie finishing her story, ”And so goes the legend of the Ooey Gooey Lagoon! Fact or Fiction? I don’t know I never read that much anyway!” Pinkie ended the story with a squeaky grin on her face. After hearing the story, most of everyone started to giggle a little while feeling a little scared. Chet then looked at Fluttershy, Scootaloo, and Ocellus, “There, that didn’t really scared you three too much did it?” “It did a little bit, Sensei.” Ocellus shared her thought. “Y-yeah.” Scootloo felt a little at ease. “Actually, not at all,” Fluttershy confirmed, “In fact I thought the story was just so…silly.” This in turn earned a surprise look on everyone around the campfire, even Pinkie was shocked with her jaw dropped to the ground after hearing Fluttershy’s thoughts. Fluttershy noticed and spoke, “Oh no offense Pinkie, but I hardly think any pony would be scared by some silly fish monster, don’t you agree Rarity? Rarity?” The group looked over to Rarity who only saw a blanket lump being shaken all over in fright. Pinkie leaned over to that and spoke in a sly grin while pointing, “Looks like somepony was really scared by my fish story!” “I….(ahem) I am certainly not scared,” Rarity winced and cleared her throat and noticed what Pinkie was doing, “And didn’t your mother teach you it was rather rude to point at others?” Pinkie noticed, gasped, and slapped her hoof to stop from pointing. After that Rarity passed the blanket over to Spike and cleared her throat again. “Now then, that was certainly not a scary story. I know of a story that will give quite a terrifying fright.” Rarity then began telling her story. “A long long time ago, in a kingdom far away, there lived a Princess and her right hand dragon,” Rarity looked over to Twilight and Spike who looked at each other in excitement knowing that they are in it. And so Rarity proceeded onto the next story. Author's Note Chapter was based off from another scene of an episode from Adventures in Wonderland (A Wonderland Howl-O-Ween) The Pony Phantom of the Castle“For five straight nights, the Princess was unable to sleep because of strange spooky and unearthly noises coming from somewhere in her castle.” In bed, Princess Twilight tossed and turned and she could not sleep cause of the unsettling noise all around. Frustrated, she woke up and called out to Spike. “Spike! SPIKE!!!” Twilight shouted. In an instant flash, Spike came flying through Twilight’s door, turned on the lights in her bedroom, and landed right on her bed. “Whats the matter, Twilight?” Spike asked. “Spike, those strange, spooky unearthly noises have got to stop! They’re keeping me from sleeping!” Twilight being firmed on the matter. “Oh, sorry about that. I won’t stay up reading the words from my comic again.” Spike apologized, while feeling a bit sheepish. “No, Spike, I don’t mean you reading your comics at night,” Twilight corrected him while starting to feel a bit more scared, “I meant there are other things out there making that noise!” “You, you don’t mean….” Spike shuttered to answer. “Yeah I do,” Twilight still feeling scared and winced, “Things that go bump in the night.” Music again for third time started to play out and Twilight began to sing. Twilight: Those scary noises in the night Surly are a dreadful fright Those spooky sounds have got to go So search the palace high and low Let’s go and find those scary sounds They’re coming from the underground They surely are dreadful fright Things that go bump in the night (The two got up and started to cling onto each other) We’ve got to get some sleep somehow So go and find those noises now They’re really strange and heardly too And I can’t sleep until we do It’s not that I’m a scaredy cat But I must sleep and that is that They surely are a dreadful fright Things that go bump in the night As Twilight finished singing and the music stopped, Spike snapped his claws as an idea just came to him. “Twilight, I think I have the solution to our problem!” Spike cheered, as he rushed off for a moment. “Would that be to search every nook and cranny of the Castle until we find that strange, spooky unearthly creature that’s making those awful noises?” Twilight guessed as Spike then returned. “Um….close,” Spike then held up items in his claws, “I got some earplugs, so that we don’t have to go near that strange, spooky unearthly creature that’s making those awful noises.” “Earplugs?” Twilight asked in confusion, “Spike, I don’t think that is the solution.” “On contraire, my dear Twilight, with these bad boys, we won’t be able to hear the things that go bump in the night,” Spike explained, as he and Twilight started to put the plugs in their ears. As they did they then spoke to each other in loud voices. “THERE! YOU SEE!! YOU CAN’T HEAR A THING!!” Spike shouted. “WHAT?” Twilight asked in shout. “WHAT?” Spike asked in shout response. “WHAT?” Twilight asked again. “WHAT?” Spike asked in shout response again, until he remembered as he pointed his ears, “Oh right the earplugs!” “WHAT?” Twilight asked in shout response for the third time as she then started to take out her earplugs. “I SAID TAKE OUT YOUR EARPLUGS!” Spike shouted but did see Twilight taking off her earplugs “Spike!! You don’t have to shout!! I’m right here!” Twilight yelled, causing Spike to trampled. “Oh, sorry, Twilight! But as you can see, with these in our ears we’ll be able to sleep again!” Spike shouted in response. “Spike, take those out!” Twilight getting irritated ordered. “WHAT?” Spike asked in shout. Twilight rolled her eyes as she used her magic to forcibly pulled the plugs our of Spike’s ears, causing him to shout in pain. He rubbed them. “Spike, this is ridiculous!” Twilight responded, “Earplugs don’t solve the problem, they hide the problem that there’s a strange spooky unearthly creature down in the catacombs!” “The Catacombs!!!” Spike gasped in fright. “Meow!! Were you looking for me?” said a voice causing the two to turn around and see another creature with a silly cat face. It then poof to what revealed to be just the Master of Chaos himself, Discord. “No! I said catacombs as in spooky underground passageways beneath my castle, not cat, Discord!” Twilight replied in annoyance, “What’re you even doing here in the middle of the night?” “Oh, I was just taking a midnight stroll and just happen to stop by,” Discord replied with a sly grin on his face, "But can’t help from overhearing your sleeping problem and thought I could offer my assistance.” “We appreciate that, Discord, but I don’t think it’s not gonna do us any good. No pony has ever dared to go down in the catacombs at night.” Spike spoke in fright. “Then perhaps let a cat be your guide through the catacombs.” Discord replied, once again turning his face into a silly cat, as he then laughed. Both Twilight and Spike saw that there was no other option but to let Discord help them guide through the catacombs. They began leaving the bedroom, and through the halls following the noise. For a while the closer they followed the noise the louder it got. They came upon the area where the noise was the loudest. They searched the area until Twilight felt one of the candle holders a little loose. She pulled it and a secret passage opened and revealed the way to the catacombs. Twilight then used her horn to light the way, as they all proceeded with caution, not knowing whatever creature is down there, making all this nightly ruckus. As they walked down through the catacombs, all around the hallways were covered by thousands dust and cobwebs, making Spike feeling more unease with his fear on whoever made all these cobwebs. Twilight was also looking a bit unease as they searched around where they are. “Spike, are you scared?” Twilight asked in a whimpering voice. “Oh, come on, Twilight,” Spike laughed at first but then switched to being terrified as he then clung onto Twilight, “Not much!” “Well, we should be cause I’m getting a feeling we’re going to be stuck down here cleaning up this place for the next year.” Twilight spoke in her tone voice. “Now that should make a couple of very large fuzzy purple pony eaters!!” Discord appeared out of nowhere between the two. He then laughed at that pun intended as the two gave him deadpan looks. It did not last long until that unearthly noise kicked into high gear and echoed all along the hallways, making the group feeling more uneased than before. “Wha? What was that?” Twilight shrieked. “Um…that’s my cue to exit!” Discord shrivled in fright, “It’s been nice knowing you!” Discord then magically unzipped the fabric of reality, making a passageway and went through back to his home and then zipped up the fabric of reality. “Wait, Discord, don’t go! We don’t know our way around down here!!” Twilight pleaded before the zipper magically disappeared. This in turn got Twilight furious, “Uugghhh!! That Discord!! I can’t believe he ditched us!! If I ever get my hooves on him, I….I..” “Uh, Twilight, I think we got bigger problems on our hands right now.” Spike spoke in realization on the situation at hand. “You're right, we need to find out whose making all that noise.” Twilight sighed, as she calmed herself, knowing Spike was right as they then proceed onward. The further they walked though the catacombs, the louder the noise kept on playing through their ears, making them have to cover it too. Twilight was becoming more and more impatient. “Do you see anything on where that noise is coming from?” Twilight asked in annoyance while searching around the corner entrances. “No, but by the sound of it, I would say its sounds like it’s coming from a pipe organ. Almost similar to the one at the Castle of the Two Sisters.” Spike responded and shuttered as he recalled their first time at the castle. “Listen, it keeps on getting louder.” Twilight shushed him as they proceeded slowly. “Yeah, it’s getting louder alright, but it’s also getting catchier,” Spike listened as the music started to change a little bit, there by causing him to move to the beat, really liking it, “It fact, that’s Polka Music!” Twilight then smiled as she too listened to the beat and moved her head at first and then her body. Looking at each other, they decided to dance to the beat. Started with a bow and then danced in that spot. At first they laughed and enjoyed it, but it didn’t last long when the sweet music switched back to the unearthly tone. Causing Spike and Twilight to stop and clung onto each other in fright once again. “Oh Spike. Spike. I know it’s scary, but we got to find out whose making that music,” Twilight pulled Spike together as she then started to look tough, “Come on! Follow me!” Twilight then proceeded onward with Spike still clinging onto her, refusing to let go, following the music which was getting louder and louder. Before long, they came upon a chamber entrance, peeked from the side and what they saw absolutely shocked them. The chamber contained many candles lit all around, filled with fair amount of cobwebs. What the two saw next, even more shocked them and could not even believe their eyes, for there was a shadowy figure sitting with the pipe organ playing in such a grim tone. The two looked at each other as they started to speak. “Wh-What d-do you t-th-think that is? The P-Pony of S-Sh-Shadows again?” Spike whispered, as he stuttered in fright. “I don’t think so Spike,” Twilight whispered in response, as she examined the shadowy figure, “He looks more like a Phantom.” “T-T-Th-The P-P-Pony P-P-Ph-Phantom of the C-C-C-Castle!” Spike stuttered even more. For they were right, the shadowy figure turned out to be a Pony Phantom dressed with a black cape with old ball gown garbs and wearing on the face, covering it was a white mask, as if he was hiding something. Twilight examined with curiosity, knew what she must do, “I’ve got to find out whose under that mask!” Twilight then went over to the Pony Phantom who continuing playing the music and doesn’t even know the two are there. Spike tried to stop Twilight from going, but Twilight used her magic to push Spike away as they got closer enough to try and reach over a few times. Until finally she used her magic to pull the mask off. Result of it the Pony Phantom shouted in a more gruesome grunt. He turned around to the two revealing his more frightful, gruesome face with a few wrinkles, terrifying eyes and huge mouth with only half his teeth showing, got up as he was ready to attack the two with thunder and lighting commencing in the background. Twilight and Spike realize what they must do next, none other than to run away and scream in panic, leaving the chamber and exiting out of the catacombs as quickly as they can farther away from the Pony Phantom. The Phantom was only puzzled at first to why they left in such a hurry, shrugged his shoulders, sat back down, flipped the switch, and started playing a different music, one that seems to be in a more jazzy tone, as he continued to enjoy what he does in the dark chamber. But sometimes late at night, you can still hear the sound of organ music, drifting out somewhere behind those Castle walls! The scene cuts back to reality as Rarity concluded her scary story, leaving the whole group petrified and in horror after hearing the whole story. Everyone looked over to the three and noticed that once again Fluttershy, Scootaloo, and Ocellus who really felt calm throughout the whole story. “Man, that story seems a bit too extreme.” Sandbar spoke while trying to calm down. “You said it.” Yona agreed. “Oh, come on, you can’t honestly believe that whole ‘Pony Phantom’ nonsense.” Gallus replied while mimicking the Pony Phantom routine. The group laughed at that as Sweetie Belle also calmed herself down before speaking. “Good story, sis,” Sweetie Belle pulled herself together, before looking over to Fluttershy, Scootaloo, and Ocellus who were giving her a deadpan look, “Oh come on! You three can’t tell me that wasn’t a scary story!” “Well to be honest with you Sweetie Belle, I thought the story was even more sillier than the first one,” Scootaloo replied her opinion as Fluttershy nodded. “Yeah, come on a Pony Phantom?” Ocellus spoke in annoyance, “That’s something only for little ones during their bedtime.” “Well, Spikey-Wikey doesn’t seem to agree with you three,” Rarity pointed over to where Spike was sitting only to see he was under the blanket shivering in fright. Twilight used her magic to pull the blanket off of Spike with a smile on her face, “Come on Spike. That story was not scary. I’ll tell you a real scary story that will make your scales all shrivled up.” “I appreciate that very much, Twilight.” Spike sarcastically replied before Twilight began her tale. “This is a story of three pegasi, tropical gecko, and a hare,” Twilight spoke as she pointed out towards Chet, Fluttershy, Rainbow and Scootaloo, who were surprised that they’re in this one, as Spike then tossed the blanket over to Fluttershy, before proceeding Twilight’s tale, “Who learned a terrible secret of….the WereHare!! Half Hare, Half Monster!!” Author's Note Chapter was based off another scene of an episode from Adventures in Wonderland (A Wonderland Howl-O-Ween) The Curse of the WereHare"The four friends were returning from a faithful camping trip, on the night of a full moon.” The story proceed with having Chet, Fluttershy, Angel, Rainbow and Scootlaloo walking through the Everfree Forest, crossing bridges and reaching certain points on the trail at night trying to reach home. “(Phew) I didn’t realize it be this late getting home.” Chet spoke trying to catch his breath and did some stretches from all that walking. “Late….in…the..dark,” Scootaloo winced as she clung onto Fluttershy who were both shivering in fright. “Well, we would’ve been home hours ago if somepony haven’t insisted we stop at ‘Everfree Roadside TradeStop’,” Rainbow pointed out as she too did some stretches. “Oh, come now, Rainbow, don’t you think it was worth it seeing an actual two hundred pound Albino Hamster?” Chet asked as he describe the weight of the rodent. “I actually think it was adorable seeing it up close its fuzzy wittle face,” Fluttershy calmed herself and commented while gushing and cooing. “I found that a little cute too, aside from all the other weird animals I’ve seen from that place,” Scootaloo replied “Not really that interesting. I thought we actually see more other weird creatures around that place, but none actually lived up to my expectations.” Rainbow spoke in disappointment. “You only got interested in weird animals from that story the villagers spoke calling it the WereHare!” Chet pointed out, “And besides that overweight Hamster was real, and only Fluttershy would adore that most. Anyway the ‘WereHare’ is just a tall tale.” Rainbow laughed, “Yeah, never actually believed it when that old pony came to us and just told us of that story and told us to keep a straight face. What was her name again?” “I believe it was Maria Openskya,” Chet recalled the name as he said more of that story, “She did warn that whoever gets just even a teeny tiny eensy beensy scratch from a WereHare, he too will become one at the time of Full Moon!” “And Fluttershy will have to get Angel a Flea Collar for him to wear!” Rainbow joked as she Chet and Scootaloo laughed as Fluttershy and Angel gave them a deadpan look. For fourth time, music started playing with the three began to sing. Chet: Late in the evening when the full moon rising high Rainbow: In the darkness of the forest you might hear a haunting cry Chet: It could be a a hungry whooly bear Scootaloo: Or just a wise old owl Together: But you’ll always recognize it by its howl! (Howling) Beware, beware! There are Werehares everywhere Tell me how much hair could a Werehare wear if a Werehare could wear hair Rainbow: It's ghastly Chet: It's grizzly Rainbow: It's grim Scootaloo: And gross Rainbow: And gruesome Chet: And lastly but not leastly Together: It hasn’t braced it’s tooth on face Scootaloo: They say the lack of morphis is extremely rare Together: But we really must admit we’re not that scared! There Werehares everywhere They’ll fretting you by biting you And you’ll be a Werehare too (Howling) As the song stopped, the three could do nothing more but laugh at the whole nonsense. All except Fluttershy who felt pretty annoyed. “Oh come on, Fluttershy, you can’t honestly find that a little funny?” Rainbow trying to collect herself. “Not really.” Fluttershy giving her a deadpan look. “Say, Flutters, what’s that on Angel’s little paw?” Chet eyeballed to Angel’s paw. Fluttershy examined it, “Oh that? It’s not but a teeny tiny eensy beensy scratch. Angel told me he noticed it this morning and must have got it from something last night. Assumed it was from a thorn bush.” Angel nodded his head to confirm it. “Or maybe it was from the WereHare!” Rainbow mocked again, causing her to laugh, and only for Chet and Scootloo to chuckle. Scootaloo took a closer look at Angel’s paw, “I don’t know, guys, that little scratch described seems little too coincidental.” “Oh come on squirt. You honestly can’t believe all that,” Rainbow ceased her laughing and trying to be reasonable. “Well, you can’t deny all of the other creatures we’ve dealt with in Equestria,” Chet recalled the past encounters, “I too find that little wound very suspicious. What if that story was true?” “Then Fluttershy will have to deal with a monster for a pet,” Rainbow joked as she laughed again. “Rainbow Dash! That's not funny!” Fluttershy getting mad at her. Suddenly caught by their surprise, heard a strange ringing sound. They looked around and then spotted a telephone booth, which was conveniently just standing nearby the group. They also find that a little too suspicious for the moment. “I wonder who that can be?” Scootaloo asked. “Not sure,” Rainbow responded, “Guess I’ll check it out.” Rainbow flew on over to answer the phone in the booth, “Uh, hello? Mom? Hey how you know I was all the way out here?” Rainbow asked, before hearing what the other line said and replied, “Yes, mom, I worn my long johns last night. Yes, mom, I thought of that before leaving the campsite.” As Rainbow continue talking on the phone the others kept back and chit chatted. “Do any of you find that too weird that now there’s a phone booth ringing out in the middle of the forest?” Scootaloo asked with a suspicious look,”What’s that even doing here?” “I’m not sure. That is a bit too coincidence that we happen to find one.” Fluttershy stated. “Hey where’s Angel?” Chet noticed and pointed behind Fluttershy. “Oh, he must’ve found rest stop right there,” Fluttershy explained, “ He told me that he needed to go. Not the first time that happened. I’m sure he’s fine.” The three then heard some rustling sounds coming from inside one of the bushes. They noticed it and thinking it might’ve been Angel coming back. But noticed a pair of great big yellow eyes looking at the three, which got them a little unease. What came out of the bush had a big bulky shadow which towered over the group. “Uh, Flutters, did you say that’s the shrub Angel was hopping towards to use the restroom?” Chet asked in fright as the group came into realization of what that big creature really was. “Is that…Angel?” the group asked together as they were starting to shake and shutter in fright. “Run for it?!?!” the group shouted as they dashed over to Rainbow and trying to tell her what is right in front of them. “Uh, Rainbow.” Scootaloo tried to get Rainbow’s attention. “Not now, Scoots.” Rainbow shushed her. “Come on, Scoots, let’s scram out of here!” Chet shouted as he Fluttershy and Scootaloo decided to make a run for it. Rainbow was too busy talking, she did not noticed her friends ran for their lives from what frighten them. “Mom, there’s nothing dangerous out here in this part of the woods.” Rainbow continued to talk over the phone until she overheard a growl. Rainbow spoke up,“Hold on mom, guys don’t growl, I’m talking on the phone! (Ahem) sorry about that mom those were my friends.” As Rainbow was talking the monster creeped up on her and breathed on her. Rainbow caught wind of it. “Hold on, mom, (Phew) Scootaloo, I know we were camping but did you at least brush you teeth?” Rainbow feeling repulsed by that bad breath then held up an item used from the time she and Rarity encountered a large swamp multi-eyed frog while searching for the missing magical items, “Here, try Rarity’s new breath mint.” The beast then reached for the breath mint. Rainbow noticed the sharp talons taking the breath mint. She then snickered thinking it was Chet’s hand. “No offense, Chet, but I think you need an appointment to the talon clippers.” Rainbow joked The monster growled again on which Rainbow getting annoyed from those phone interruptions finally snapped, “Really, guys, you all got the manners of a WereHa…….” Rainbow turned to where she thought the others were only to find the thing that was actually making those interruptions was in their place. The thing was very big and bulky with fur in much darker gray color, ears in sharp points, whiskers twitched, very sharp talons on paw hands and big feet, bloody big yellow eyes and rabbit tooth with much sharper teeth right next to the middle one. To this Rainbow shuttered, eyes wide open, knees shaking, wings wiggling and trying to speak until finally shouted,“WEREHARE?!?!?!?! (SCREAMS) WAIT UP, GUYS!!!!!” The monster only can howl at the full moon, screeching and roaring as he began hunting for food through out the night. The scene cute back to reality with Twilight finishing her story. And so the poor innocent little bunny was cursed the rest of his days, doomed to become a snarling, howling WereHare on the night of a full moon. On a night like tonight! Author's Note Chapter was based off from another scene of an episode from Adventures in Wonderland (A Wonderland Howl-O-Ween) Feeling A Bit JumpyAfter Twilight finished her story the whole group was left in a complete scare, frightful, and terrified mode as they soon laughed and chuckled as they calm themselves and pulled themselves all together. “(Phew) Man that was a pretty terrifying tale. Well done, Twilight,” Chet commended, as Twilight smiled and giggled. “Aw shucks, you’re making me blush here.” Twilight giggled. “Boy, that really was a scary story.” Spike feeling a bit more terrified than ever but trying to keep his cool. “You said it, Spike.” Smolder also felt a bit shaken. “Man, I almost lost all my feathers on my wings from hearing that!” Gallus feeling a bit scared. “I know, mine almost did too.” Silverstream replied while keep her wings clamped down “Wow to the wow, that story was extreme, scared the wits out of me,” Sandbar screamed in excitement before noticing Yona, ”Uh, Yona are you alright?” “Y-y-yona n-n-not s-s-sc-scared of s-st-st-story.” Yona replied while shaking and rocking back and forth in her seat. Ocellus noticed the blanket shuttering right next to Fluttershy, “Um Fluttershy is that Angel’s teeth we hear chattering?” Fluttershy noticed and lifted the blanket up noting Angel being terrified, “I’m afraid it is.” Pinkie Pie popped up behind her, “Unless somepony brought another set!” Pinkie held up a set of chattering teeth gag as she giggled as did the rest of the gang. “Aw come on, you guys weren’t really scared by that story were you?” Scootaloo spoke up and feeling for once was not really scared, ”It was fun!” “For once, I’m not actually scared at all from neither of those stories,” Fluttershy confirmed, “They were fun.” “Oh, yeah sure….fun,” Spike hesitantly replied, “Like the tale of the Phantom Pony of the Castle!!” “Or the one with the Swamp Monster!” Sweetie Belle mentioned as everyone else agreed. “Oh, listen to you all. And after you gave Fluttershy, Scootaloo, and Ocellus such a hard time,” Twilight pointed out, “Now all of you are spooked out and they aren’t.” “Yeah, because these three are very wise to know that some monsters are not real, not like the ones we all encounter here in Equestria,” Chet concur his thoughts with Twilight. The group felt a little at ease hearing and seeing their point of the whole deal. Suddenly, the group heard a very loud disturbing grow, making the group feeling unease. “Wh-What in the world was that?” Rarity winced. “Sounded like a growl!” Applejack feeling scared. “The kind that a Swamp Monster would make!!” both Applebloom and Sweetie Belle spoke. “Actually, that was only my tummy rumbly,”Pinkie spoke with a squeaky grin,”Let’s eat some more!” Everyone were in a sigh of relief. Didn’t last long when they then heard a strange unearthly music playing in the sky, once again got everyone unease. “Shhh! Shhh! Listen, do you hear that?” Spike shushed the group while hesitated to speak, “It sounds like the Pony Phantom playing the Pipe Organs!” “Don’t be ridiculous, Spike,” Twilight assured Spike,“It’s probably just the wind.” As if things were not looking bad enough, the group then heard a horrid howling occurring from a distance, making the group feel even more unease. “Y-yo-you d-d-do-don’t suppose that could b-be a…” Rainbow Dash winced while she and Pinkie clung onto each other while almost every pony and creature had the exact same thought in mind. ”WEREHAAARE!?!?!?!?!?,” Everyone screamed as they started to jump out of their seats collecting their things and ran far from the campfire like scared rabbits. All except for Chet, Twilight, Fluttershy, Scootaloo and Ocellus. “Wait a minute, everyone!” Ocellus called out, “There’s no such thing as a Swamp Monster, or a Pony Phantom, or a WereHare!!” But to no avail, the whole group kept on running away from the campfire. “I don’t think they heard you, Ocellus.” Scootaloo confirmed. “O,h dear I’m afraid they’re a bit too spooked from those three stories." Fluttershy felt worried for her friends. “Oh, good grief! The next thing you know, they’ll all start believing in ghosts!” Twilight feeling a bit irritated. “Uh Twi,” Chet tapped on Twilight’s shoulder, ”I think you might want to change your physician after...THAT!!!” Chet then pointed the direction he was looking at as the other looked the same way and what they saw were a trio of ghostly figures hovering over the fire. They seem to be dressed in hitchhiking wears. The middle one was very tall wearing an old fashion night coat with old bowtie and wearing a Derby Bowler Hat. The second one was little shorter than the first wearing a heavier coat and a Top Hat, and carrying a bag. And the third was very short and very hairy with long beard, wearing ragged clothing and carrying a chain weight in his arms. They each were holding up their hooves and got them into hitchhiking points. Just then more spooky music began to sing in a more jazz way and the ghost start singing. (Ghost 1) When the crypt doors creak And the tombstones quake (Ghost 2 and 3) Spooks come out for a singing wake (Ghost 1) Happy haunts materialize (Ghost 2 and 3) And begin to vocalize (Together) Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize (Ghost 1) Now don't close your eyes And don't try to hide (Ghost 2 and 3) Or a silly spook may sit by your side (Ghost 1) Shrouded in a daft disguise (Ghost 2 and 3) They pretend to terrorize (Together) Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize (Ghost 1) As the moon climbs high o'er dead oak tree (Ghost 2 and 3) Spooks arrive for the midnight spree (Ghost 1) Creepy creeps with eerie eyes (Ghost 2 and 3) Start to shriek and harmonize (Together) Grim grinning ghosts come out socialize (Ghost 1) When you hear the knell of a requiem bell (Ghost 2 and 3) Weird glows gleam where spirits dwell (Ghost 1) Restles bones etherealize (Ghost 2 and 3) Rise as spooks of every size (Together) Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize (Spooky Laughing) To the sight of the three, got the five terrified as they then screamed in fright. “WAIT FOR US!!!” The five shouted as they too collected their things and ran after the group away from the spot. To their confusion, the ghostly trio scratched their head, shrugged and floated down to pick up what seem to be leftover snacks the group brought. They savored the taste, grabbed the bucket full of water and extinguished the fire before laughing at ghostly tone before floating away into the night. Author's Note The three Hitch Hike Ghost ponies were based from the same Hitch Hiking Ghosts (Disney Haunted Mansion) and their song. Epilogue: NightMare Night What A FrightAfter dashing away from those ghosts, Chet, Twilight, Fluttershy, Scootaloo and Ocellus finally made it out of the woods. When they stopped, they took very deep breathes and collecting themselves. “Man, that was too close!” Chet breathed heavily. “You said it, Chet,” Scootaloo concurred. Ocellus looked back where they came through and pondered, “Who exactly were those ghosts? I’ve never exactly seen any like them before.” “I have no idea,” Twilight replied, “I’ve always didn’t believe in the supernatural but this would be a first that I’ve ever seen one.” The group heard a call and looked around. They then saw coming towards them was the rest of the gang. “There y’all are,” Applejack called out, “We were worried if any of those monsters caught up to y’all!” “Oh, thank goodness,” Rarity sighed of relief, “We were worried you five might not have gotten yourselves out of there.” “Are you guys ok?” Rainbow asked. “Yes we’re fine,” Twilight confirmed while trying o keep her cool, “We just had to stay and put out the fire before catching up with you all.” Just then they were hearing small snickering and then bursts of laughing coming from Scootaloo, the group turned to her. “Hey, what’s so funny?” Sweetie Belle asked in irritation. “Sorry but, I can’t get over the fact seeing how sacred you all were from hearing those noises,” Scootaloo spoke in-between laughs, “That was the most fun I had in moons!” Scootaloo could not stop laughing as she rolled around the ground. This in turn Chet, Twilight, Fluttershy and Ocellus got into the laughing mode as well. “Must admit, the looks on your faces were priceless!!” Chet burst out laughing. “Oh my, I haven’t laughed this much in years,” Fluttershy giggled trying to contain herself. “I have-not had this much fun since our Girls Retreat,” Twilight giggled. “And you all thought I was the timid one?” Ocellus spoke in between laughs. With that the rest of the group started to laugh, realizing that they were so scared, they forgot it was fun. “I plump almost forgotten that round this time of the year, this here be fun to be scared on NightMare Night.” Applejack spoke while Applebloom agreed. “Finally! It’s about time you all got it!” Came from a familiar voice and poof out of nowhere was none other than Discord. “Discord?” The group gasped. “What on earth are you doing here at night?” Rarity inquire. “What did you think of all those spooky noises I made?” Discord asked while hovering over the group “Spooky noises?” The group looked confused while looking at each other. “Yes yes yes, you know the kind you would expect at this terrifying night of the year,” Discord spoke while wiggling his fingers at the moment. He then floated over towards both Chet and Fluttershy, ”And you can thank these two friends for setting up the whole thing.” “Wait a second,” Twilight shared her pondered thought, “You mean to tell me that it was you that’s been making those sounds at the campfire? And you two knew about this the whole time?” “Yeah, the other day when I spoke to Fluttershy about what we were doing, I let her in on a little secret part that was sure to spice things up,” Chet explained, “Asking Discord to do a little trickery magic to really get tin the NightMare Night Spirit.” “Just as long as it was not really too scary.” Fluttershy grinned sheepishly. “Oh, but I surely got a kick out of this.” Discord laughed. “Well the only thing we were not counting on were those three hitchhiking ghosts hovering over the campfire,” Chet confessed. “G-G-GH-GHOSTS?!?!” Yona shriveled in fear. “Hitchhiking ghosts?” Sandbar asked. “What the heck you taking about?” Gallus asked. “Oh that reminds me,” Discord snapped his digits, “I had some friends who helped out with the whole scaring deal.” Just then, appearing next to Discord were the same three hitchhiking ghost ponies with grins on their faces and then laughed. “Wait a minute,” Chet spoke, “You mean to tell me that you know these ghost ponies?” “Why yes,” Discord concurred, “These ghosts were very good friends of mine during my time. This is Crone Bone, Bag Snag and Hairy Scary. We were roommates in scare collage.” The three ghosts waved and greeted as the group wave back and laughed nervously. “Discord here told us all about each of you and the adventures and trials you faced.” Crone Bone spoke. “We were all fascinated by the idea of having scare fun he filled us in, we decided to have some of that action.” Bag Snag confirmed, “Hope we didn’t do too extreme.” “And what did you think of our catchy tune?” Hairy Scary asked, “We haven’t done that bit in many years.” “Well, actually you kinda did gave quite a fright, but now it makes senses,” Twilight replied, “And I have to admit, the song is catchy, as much as Pinkie’s other song the one time we first met Zecora.” “Which was a working progress,” Pinkie slid beside Twilight with a squeaky grin, much to Twilight playfully rolling her eyes. “Ahem, aside from all the formalities, I would say with all we went through this evening, this has been the most spectacular night I ever endure,” Rarity announced, “I do believe we all owe it to our friend Chetgeki for making this all possible.” The group agreed and turned to Chet. “I gotta hand it to you, Chet, the campfire scary story telling was awesome!” Rainbow went next to Chet and placed her wing around him, “I think my heart was still pounding from what we went through.” Chet smiled as he noticed Fluttershy nuzzling on him and spoke, “You were right about tonight. It was definitely fun, ling as we were with our friends. It did kinda help me see that not everything of NightMare Night is just scary, but also fun. I guess what I'm trying to say is, thank you!” “Daw stop, you’re making me blush.” Chet’s face turning all red as he accepted all the kind words every pony was giving him. “It’s true, Chet, this may have been the best night we all ever had,” Twilight stood next to Chet as she then embraced him which he accepts, “Even better than the last few recent years.” “I kinda feel like we should have this be a part of NightMare night every year.” Spike suggested as every pony else was liking that idea. “Well, if you guys are all okay with making one of my Holiday tradition be a part of yours, then alright it’s settled.” Chet declared and the group cheered in delight. “Any who, the night is still young and we still got plenty of scare on parties in town! Plus I did promise Tenderheart Kisses and her Ghostly Friends that we be at their own NightMare Night Party in town!” Pinkie beamed with a squeaky grin. “Yer right Pinkie, we still got hours of them spook and frights before we y’all rest,” Applejack agreed, “So come on let’s head back to town and celebrate the night away with other friends!” The others are definitely in favor of the idea as they then started to head over. Fluttershy look at Discord and the three ghosts, “And you four can join us in town.” “Oh splendid!!” Crone Bone. “Capital suggestion!” Bag Snag. “Well what are we waiting for?” Hairy Scary rhetorically asked. “Oh, very well, I don’t think we’ll end up doing the same like we did in the woods.” Discord replied as they then followed the group. As they all proceeded to town they were all chanting together, “NightMare Night. What a Fright. Give us something sweet to Bite!” As they all head over, Chet and Twilight kept back behind. Twilight had her wing around Chet and unexpected gave him a peck on the cheek, which he was in a state of stupor. Twilight blushed as she spoke, “Happy NightMare Night, Chet!” Chet smiled as he pecked Twilight back and replied, “Happy NightMare Night, Twilight,” They smiled as they finally reached town and embraced the festivities in town on this spooky holiday night withe the scene pointing up towards the full moon. Then a howl commenced as bats then started flying pass through the scene. Happy Halloween and NightMare Night to all! And to all a Boo Fright!!! The InvitationTwas the day before Nightmare Night, at Ponyville, all residents were preparing for the big spooky festivities with decorations hung up, pumpkins carved into frightful faces, at every store more and more brand new costumes and sweet new treats being made, displayed and purchased for all to enjoy. The fillies all around town practicing their Nightmare Night phrase for when they go to gather treats from door to door. Even Nightmare Night is being celebrated at the School of Friendship with pony and creature students embracing the old tradition with a mixture of their own. Walking around and viewing all being displayed was none other than the tropical ninja detective friend, Chetgeki. With him were both the Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle and her faithful and loyal companion, Spike. “Gosh, everything so far is coming together nicely.” Spike shared his thoughts. “Mhmm. There isn’t a time anypony has not got anything mixed up during Holidays like these.” Twilight replied. “I am impressed that you all have a spooky themed Holiday during this time of the year. Back on my island, we hardly had leaves falling off the palm trees, due to fact that its always summer over southwest of Equestria. Aside from knowing what HeartsWarming was all about during the Winter season, I am curious what this NightMare Night’s all about.” Chet being curious. “Well, originally, NightMare Night is a very spooky tradition when after Luna became Nightmare Moon and when Celestia banished her to the Moon, the residents of Equestria decided to make a national holiday whenever we enter the Fall Season, and the Autumn Moon blooms bright,” Twilight explained, “Legend has it that on NightMare Night, they say that Nightmare Moon’s spirit would return to gobble up anypony if no treats were given in front of her Statue, placed in the Everfree Forest.” “Hold up, I know that you once told me about Nightmare Moon’s return and when you girls defeated her, she turned back into Luna yes?” Chet asked. “Yes, although Luna did have a hard time trying to fit into our modern time, even tried to be a part of Nightmare Night.” Twilight confirmed. “That is if not for Twilight’s help, Luna would still be not accepted and left out,” Spike pointed out, as Twilight glared at him, “Right not helping.” “All that aside, everything did work out for NightMare Night.” Twilight spoke. “Yeah, until the following year when Fluttershy finally had the guts to scare us during the Corn Maze.” Spike mentioned as he was still feeling creeped out from that time. “Ah, I remember you telling me that story,” Chet replied, “Still find that hard to believe that some pony afraid of her own shadow ended up terrifying you all.” “Yeah,” Twilight sheepishly giggled, “But then afterwards, she decided to spend the rest of NightMare Night at home with her animals in her little safe house.” “And so this year she is doing the same deal, yes?” Chet inquired. “Mhmm.” Twilight nodded. “Fraid so.” Spike sighed. The three kept on walking for a little bit more, until suddenly and idea popped into Chet’s mind. “Hey! I just have an idea.” Chet spoke “What is it, Chet?” Twilight wondered. “Well, for on thing, I never told you about one of my other traditions we have on my island at this time of the year and it’s related to NightMare Night. All the residents of my village create a bonfire, roast food, and even tell terrifying tales, myths, and legends that is known to our world,” Chet explained, “How about we do this for NightMare Night tomorrow night and invite the girls along with the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and some of our students from the school to join us and experience my Holiday tradition.” “I think that’s a great idea,” Twilight spoke, “I’m always curious to know what other traditions you have on your island, as much as wanting to experience some.” “Wait a minute, are you suggesting we skip out on the trick or treating part in our costumes of NightMare Night?” Spike asked in shock. “No no, we can’t forget about that,” Twilight explained, “I think we what we can do is get our candy early, still wear our costumes and just meet up for the bonfire and experience telling Spooky Tales.” “Exactly,” Chet also shared his thoughts, “In fact to show the Spirit of Night Mare Night, I too shall dress up as we proceed the Bonfire Tales.” “Question being, who are you gonna be?” Spike asked in curiosity. “Ah, you will have to wait and see tomorrow night, my little purple friend.” Chet replied with a sly grin on his face. “Well I say let’s do it.” Twilight declared. “Yeah!” Spike cheered. “Agreed.” Chet spoke. “Lets go ahead and find the others and tell them what we’re planning to do,” Twilight spoke. “Hold on, I think there’s one that might not want to come.” Spike pointed out, with he three realizing that Fluttershy might not want to join. “Not to worry Spikey boy,” Chet replied, “Leave her to me.” The two nodded and trotted off to tell the others while Chet set off to Fluttershy’s cottage to try and persuade her to join. Meanwhile, not far from Ponyville at the cottage of Fluttershy, she herself was in a rush mode like a scared rabbit getting everything all prepared for the terrible night to commence tomorrow night. All curtains were closed quickly, doors and windows locked and barricaded, and she even got her secret safe house all prepped and ready, courtesy from her animal friends. “Phew. Once again I am all set and ready for tomorrow night. This time a little early. Thank you all for your help my friends,” Fluttershy thanked all her friends embracing them in gratitude before turning to her pet bunny, Angel, “And I haven’t forgotten about your stash. ” Fluttershy showed him the stash that is full of carrots as he requested once before. With that Angel hopped on her back and got close to her head and nuzzled her, much to Fluttershy liking it. With all accomplished, Fluttershy felt at ease, until she heard something knocking on her door. Feeling her usual shuttering, she fluttered over to her door and spoke. “Wh-who i-i-is i-i-it?” Fluttershy trembled. “It’s just me Flutters, Chetgeki.” Chet called from the other side of the door. Fluttershy unlocked the locks, opened the door, and without hesitation, quickly grabbed Chet, pulled him inside and then re-locked everything. Took a few second for Chet to regain himself from that quick force. “Sorry about that, Chet,” Fluttershy went over and tidy up Chet's trench coat, “I’m just in one of my scared modes.” “I know Fluttershy. Because of this NightMare Night Holiday tomorrow night,” Chet replied as he continued to brush off, “I’ve been told of this.” “Then you know that every year whenever NightMare Night comes, I get too scared to even set foot outside with all spooky things occurring out there at night.” Fluttershy reminded with the facts. “Yes, I recall, except the one year when your pet bunny wanted you to go get more carrots and then further on when Spike suggested that you joined up with the others?” Chet asked. “Yes. Angel, little stubborn, refused to eat any other veggies in his stash, forcing me to go out on NightMare Night,” Fluttershy stated while feeling a bit shaky, “And when Spike said that, it got me thinking that maybe it would do me some good to join my friends on this Holiday. But things just did not work out. I tried to host a haunted tea party but none of them were scared or seem to be enjoying that. I wanted to try to step it up with the scare factor with a little help from Angel. We ended up doing that at the Corn Maze at Sweet Apple Acres. But it ended up getting way out of hand when my friends were really scared and feeling they were danger. I couldn’t bear to watch them in their frightful state. Over all, I just don’t think I’m cut up with NightMare Night,” Fluttershy explaining the story while feeling a bit guilty, “But I’m fine with that and my friends understand that.” “As do I,” Chet replied, “But I think you might change your mind after hearing what I have to say.” And so Chet explained the same way he told Twilight and Spike with after doing their usual traditions on NightMare night, they would then have a get together at their usual spot for afternoon picnic days with a campfire, and sweet treats, while trying to save the spot stories as a surprise. At first Fluttershy wasn't really sure or fond of the idea taking place on NightMare night, but when she looked at her animal friends, they believe it was a splendid idea and urged her to join them. Fluttershy looked at Chet and spoke, “I’m not really fond of having campfire picnics at night, especially on (gulps) NightMare Night, but I know our friends will be there. You really think it will be different this year if we do this on NightMare Night?” “I assure you, sweet Fluttershy, not only our friends will be there, but our students and the Cutie Mark Crusaders will join us as well. They’ll be very pleased that we do something different this year,” Chet replied, “Besides it’s not like we will be doing this in the Everfree Forrest, which I know it is not safe for any of us at night anyway and nothing dangerous will happen. And if you do get scared, you can either head home to your safe house, or another option, you can sit close to me if you need to cling onto something.” “Well, I suppose I could give it a try,” Fluttershy started to feel a bit better after hearing more details, “And I think I’ll try to stay as long as I can as long as we’re not being in real danger.” “You have my word Flutters.” Chet promised Fluttershy then went over to Chet and nuzzled him, “Thank you Chet. I’ll come tomorrow night.” “Excellent. Will look forward to tomorrow night,” Chet replied, “Now I must go and get everything arranged. I will have some pony come and escort you to the spot once their Trick or Treating is done. I’ll see you there.” “See you there too.” Fluttershy waved as Chet took his leave to prepare for tomorrow night.
You’re Scared!As NightMare Night was closing in, all ponies around Ponyville were out and about dressed up and started their own festivities. While Twilight, Spike, the rest of the Mane Six were dressed up too. Twilight was going as a Mad Scientist (or Mad Twience) with a Lab coat, pony gloves, science goggles, her reading glasses, some pencils tucked her lab coat pocket, and another pencil and quill tucked in her messy frizzled mane bun. Spike as always dressed up as a dragon, but with two more heads of himself with his claws controlling the two, made some horns on top of the head and his own, another tail made along with his own, and also made some adjustments so that his wings could easily slip through. Applejack was all decked with silver tin cans (around her arms, legs), an empty silver trash can around her torso, a big silver funnel wearing on her head, and finally carrying around with her is a toy chopping ax. Fluttershy could not really decide on anything she wanted to wear for NightMare night. She did however went with the obvious choice, her secret agent outfit from when the time Trixie had the Alicorn Amulet and recently from the time when Twilight and her brother Shining Armor had to settle their sibling rivalry. On Fluttershy’s back was Angel who once again dressed up as Dracula (Or perhaps Bunnicula). Pinkie Pie dressed as an Arabian belly dancer with a stuffed snake around her neck. Rarity, being a major fashionista and recent love for mysteries, dressed up in her detective outfit after her recent time with Twilight and Shining Armor’s rivalry. Rainbow Dash was going as a gargoyle with the usual ears, wings, horns, and tail. Along with the girls and Spike were the Cutie Mark Crusaders and the Young Six who joined up after going through their trick or treating montage. They all too were dressed up for the occasion. Applebloom was wearing her cowpony/yodeling mix outfit. Sweetie Belle decked out her outfit of one of the Pony Pop Stars, Countess Coloratora. And Scootaloo was dressed in her Dare Deviling Washout outfit, only for costume, nothing daring after what happened not long ago. For Sandbar he was going as a super pony with a familiar super hero hairdo, red cape, and blue muscle with super pony logo on his chest. Ocellus went as a Fairy Princess with glitters and a changing made crown. Yona dawned up a Viking theme attire. Gallus was all decked out in Griffin Knight Armor . Smolder dressed herself as a Vampire Fruit Bat. And finally Silverstream as a Merpony or Siren, similar to Rarity’s old one. Soon enough the whole group made their way to the location that Chet suggested, carrying with them all the treats that have collected. They came upon an open field with a few trees growing around. They all then saw a spot in front of an old tree with a campfire lit up, a bucket full of water to put out the fire when it’s all said and done, log and boulder seats around the fire for the group to rest on. At first they all seem comfortable and got things going with chit chatting. Discussing on how much treats they have been collecting and admiring their costumes this year. In all the while the Cutie Mark Crusaders started to wonder why they be out here in the night. “So now would some pony please tell us the most time honor tradition of NightMare Night?” Applebloom asked, “We’ve been cutting our Trick Or Treating short to know what this is all about.” Yeah why bring us and our treats all the way over here?” Sweetie Belle asked. “And why are we actually doing this at…..(gulp)..at night in front of a suspicious….campfire?” Scootaloo asked while being shaken in fear, still haven’t gotten over her fears from the last two campfire trips with her friends and sisters. Applejack, “Well, sugarcubes, from what we’ve been told, Chetgeki has a tradition at this time of the year on his island.” “And told us to bring lots and lots of treats to share and savor for this night.” Pinkie also pointed out, as she began to eat some of the treats. “And as good friends, we should experience whatever Chet wishes to share from his home with us,” Twilight explained while trying to not let slip the real reason, “After all, not everyday we get to experience a new deal during the Holidays.” “Hold on, you said this whole thing was Master Chetgeki’s idea, where is he anyway?” Gallus pondered, as did the rest. Suddenly to everyone’s surprise a smoke bomb poofed out of nowhere and in place in front of the campfire, stood a figure all dressed in a tuxedo and his face painted as skull with a familiar hat-wear. Why it was none other than Chet who started to laugh in cheer. “HA HA!! Fellow creatures of the night, welcome to the first annual Night Mare Night Story Circle. The time of the year where anyone shares a story full of spooky, creepy, and bizarre tales that will make your mane frizzled up, your feathers plucking, and your scales quivering…..but mostly having a good laugh of it!” Chet explained. Hearing what Chet said, got most of the group excited over the idea for this year, except perhaps Fluttershy, Scootaloo, and Ocellus whom clung onto each other. “Oh dear.” Fluttershy shaken in fright. “You’ve got to be kidding!” Scootloo shrieked. “Um Sensei Chetgeki, don’t scary stories just, well you know sacre everybody?” Ocellus asked in concern. Rainbow Dash flew right behind him and spoke, “Only the really good ones.” “Ha! Yona not scared of scary stories!” Yona declared. “Neither am I.” Smolder agreeing. “Ditto.” Spike agreeing with the two. “Ooooo! I love scary stories.” Silverstream cheered in excitement. “Pfft scary stories, big whoop.” Gallus not feeling amused. “Come on, Gallus, it could be fun.” Sandbar try to cheer Gallus up. “Oh sure.” Gallus sarcastically agreed. The others laughed at the idea as Chet came over to the three clinging on together. “Come come, girls, this be the whole point after all,” Chet assured her, “It's fun to be scared.” With that a creepy song started to play with Chet first to start singing Chet: When the hairs on the back on your neck Stand straight up and make you think what the heck When you hear noises that you can’t explain And you get a nervous feeling in your stomach and your brain Everyone: You’re scared! Ooooooo You’re scared! Ooooooo Sitting outside while the campfire glow You’re not all alone and everybody knows Its fun to be scared! Chet and Rainbow with a spooky masks: Psst. BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA!! Rainbow Dash: When you hear a story that’s really bizarre You wish that you were home instead of where you are When your goosebumps jump and you feel unease When you start to walk, but you got quivering knees Everyone: You’re scared! Ooooooo Your’e scared! Ooooooo Sitting outside while the campfire glow You’re not all alone and everybody knows It’s fun to be scared! It’s fun to be scared! Ooooooooooooooo!!!!! As they stop singing and started to sit down, they once again laughed at this fun merriment. While Fluttershy, Scootaloo and Ocellus are still not convinced. “Um, no offense, Chet, but I don’t think it’s such a good to be telling scary stories on NightMare Night.” Flutterhsy still feeling shaken. “Me too.” Scootaloo clung on to Fluttershy. “Me three.” Ocellus clung onto the other two. “Well, on my island, we tried telling them during the other seasons, but for some reason they never caught on,” Chet shared, as he then took his seat in between Twilight and Fluttershy, “Besides, even if you three do get scared, just know your friends are not leaving you out here alone.” “Chetgeki is correct, darlings,” Rarity spoke, “You know we don’t get scared easily. It’s quite fun to be scared together, but not too scared.” Everyone else agreed once again. The three girls, clung onto each other smiled, feeling a little better from Chet’s words as he continued to speak, “So who like to go first in this event?” “Ooo! Ooo! Me! Me! Me!” Pinkie offered, as she got up and stood in front of the campfire, “This is a story about four brave explorers. Two pairs of sisters, much like the four of you!” Pinkie pointed over Applejack, Applebloom, Rarity and Sweetie Belle, who then all smiled in excitement as Pinkie then began telling the story. The Swamp Beast of Ooey Gooey LagoonPinkie began narrating, “These four explorers set out to explore the mysterious, enchanted Ooey Gooey Lagoon. No explorers who have ever entered the lagoon have ever been heard from again!” As from what Pinkie started the story, a group of ponies, two earth and two unicorns, strangely looking like Applejack, Applebloom, Rarity and Sweetie Belle, were on a boat with a lantern lighting the way through the dark lagoon. Applejack was busy guiding the boat through the lagoon mush, Sweetie Belle is taking in the sites through her binoculars, Rarity polishing her hooves and horn while trying to ignore the icky environment, and Applebloom was busy writing in her journal. “So, Applebloom, what you writing today in your official explorer’s journal?” asked Sweetie Belle as Applebloom responded in her Captain’s Log impression. “Captain’s Log, lagoon date 54 21.2, my sister, my close friends, and I have been making our way through the lagoon for 19 days now. So far all we’ve seen is a lot of mud, a lot of alligators, and one really bad rest stop.” Applebloom read. “Oh, and Applebloom darling, be sure to put a warning for future explorers. Stay away from the food it has. They are just ghastly (Blech)!” Rarity spoke in her disgusted tone. “Aw, come on now, Rarity, the food didn’t taste all that bad.” Sweetie Belle replied in defense. “Sweetie’s right Rare, y’all really need to get into outdoors more often,” Applejack spoke, “That there might actually do ya some good.” “It hasn’t even been doing some ‘good’ to my complection!” Rarity said, as she then sniffed the air and tried to get that away with her perfume, “Eeewww, talk about some serious swamp gas!!” “Well, one thing is for certain, we certainly haven’t spotted…..the Creature of the Ooey Gooey Lagoon!” Applebloom spoke with a spooky tone. “Now that because there ain’t one sugarcube.” Applejack chuckled and snorted as Applebloom and Rarity joined her. “Yeah, probably just some tall tale the locals share to other travelers just to keep them away from the Lagoon.” Applebloom spoke in between laughs. “Yeah only to just hide something valuable deep within the Lagoon waters.” Sweetie Belle shared more info. “Indeed Sweetie, it could mean that there might be some buried treasure full of glamorous hunks of gems, diamonds, and all sorts of splendid Divine crystals that I simply must find to fashion up new lines of wear at my Boutique!” Rarity gleamed in excitement with images of diamonds in her eyes. It suddenly changed when a fly was buzzing around her and then see smack it her face, much to her disgust. She then quickly whipped it off and cleaned it in her usual way, “Or perhaps it might be a bottle of extreme bug repellent, I simply cannot take much more of this!” The three girls laughed as then Applebloom spoke in disappointment, “Actually I’m kinda disappointed that we didn’t find the Lagoon Monster.” “Don’t be, little sis, I recon it still just an old wives tale.” Applejack spoke as she continued to steer the boat. A moment of silence was placed for a moment, until Sweetie Belle broke that silence “I think I know why we haven’t seen it,” Sweetie Belle spoke, “Probably just getting some beauty sleeping deep within these muddy waters.” “So…..let’s wake him up!” Applebloom grinned. Once again music started playing, only in a swampy theme. As the three sang, all Rarity could do is just listen and felt even more disgusted by it. Together: Swamp Stomp. As the music stopped, the three once again laughed at the silliness. That is until Sweetie Belle spotted something in front of the boat. “Hey, there’s another boat over there.” Sweetie Belle pointed in that direction. They all looked at the other boat in front of them only to see that it has been abandoned, with holes and covered in moss, just floating alone in the misty fog of the Lagoon. “Or what’s left of that there boat.” Applejack replied. “What you recon happen to the ones who own that?” Applebloom asked. “I’m not quite sure, but one thing is certain, they will be having terrible vacation spots.” Rarity guessed as the girls giggled as little. “Wait a minute,” Sweetie Belle pondered,“You don’t think that has anything to do with the Lagoon Monster, do you?” ‘”Sweetie Belle, don’t be ridiculous,” Rarity denied the fact, “You heard what Applejack said, it is nothing but a myth.” “Maybe you’re right.” Sweetie felt a little relief. As the girls laughed and calmed themselves, unknown to them something rose from the mist of the water. It was two swampy hands with a few seaweed wrapped around the hands as they grabs hold of the boat and began to pull itself up. The girls then stop laughing and started to grew a little worry as they then saw the mist becoming more thicker and foggier. “I can’t see a darn thing,” Applejack confirmed, as she tried to start the boat again but for some strange reason it would not start, “And the motor here ain’t working fro some strange reason. I’m starting to think something is preventing us from proceeding through.” Applebloom spoke, “Ya know, there still is something fishy going on round here. I’m still getting a feeling that we’re not alone in this lagoon.” “Yeah me too, even the mists are becoming thicker around us.” Sweetie Belle share the fear. “Oh, listen to you two,” Rarity still denying, “Here we are lost in the misty lagoon, singing a song about a silly fish monster that does not really exist and now you’re worried that an actual fish monster is responsible for these unfortunate events?” As Rarity was busy rambling, the three looked behind her a saw the slouchy figure standing behind Rarity. The three started to shake in fright. “Uh, Rarity, ya might want to change yer physician on that,” Applejack spoke in fright, “Look behind ya!!” Rarity gave a glare to Applejack, but suddenly changed to a shocking look when she then heard a growl, slowly turned around behind her, she saw at first scaly fins and slowly started to look up. She saw the full body scale from feet to the face, seeing that it was a monster with slimy scales and a terrifying fish face with very sharp teeth, bugging red eyes and sea weed all over his body. That monster was indeed confirm to be the Monster of the Ooey Gooey Lagoon! The beast does indeed not only look terrifying, but also looks hungry! The girls then let out a loud scream as the monster moved towards them only leaving a dark shadow upon them and it cuts to black. Only sound was heard was a big gulp and everything fell into silence. “And to this day, no pony knows what ever became of the four explorers. Their boat remained empty and floating alone floating in the middle of the Lagoon. As for the journal, it was found at the edge of the lagoon. Curiously, the last entry was written by a different hoof writing!” The story ended as it refocused on Pinkie finishing her story, ”And so goes the legend of the Ooey Gooey Lagoon! Fact or Fiction? I don’t know I never read that much anyway!” Pinkie ended the story with a squeaky grin on her face. After hearing the story, most of everyone started to giggle a little while feeling a little scared. Chet then looked at Fluttershy, Scootaloo, and Ocellus, “There, that didn’t really scared you three too much did it?” “It did a little bit, Sensei.” Ocellus shared her thought. “Y-yeah.” Scootloo felt a little at ease. “Actually, not at all,” Fluttershy confirmed, “In fact I thought the story was just so…silly.” This in turn earned a surprise look on everyone around the campfire, even Pinkie was shocked with her jaw dropped to the ground after hearing Fluttershy’s thoughts. Fluttershy noticed and spoke, “Oh no offense Pinkie, but I hardly think any pony would be scared by some silly fish monster, don’t you agree Rarity? Rarity?” The group looked over to Rarity who only saw a blanket lump being shaken all over in fright. Pinkie leaned over to that and spoke in a sly grin while pointing, “Looks like somepony was really scared by my fish story!” “I….(ahem) I am certainly not scared,” Rarity winced and cleared her throat and noticed what Pinkie was doing, “And didn’t your mother teach you it was rather rude to point at others?” Pinkie noticed, gasped, and slapped her hoof to stop from pointing. After that Rarity passed the blanket over to Spike and cleared her throat again. “Now then, that was certainly not a scary story. I know of a story that will give quite a terrifying fright.” Rarity then began telling her story. “A long long time ago, in a kingdom far away, there lived a Princess and her right hand dragon,” Rarity looked over to Twilight and Spike who looked at each other in excitement knowing that they are in it. The Pony Phantom of the Castle“For five straight nights, the Princess was unable to sleep because of strange spooky and unearthly noises coming from somewhere in her castle.” In bed, Princess Twilight tossed and turned and she could not sleep cause of the unsettling noise all around. Frustrated, she woke up and called out to Spike. “Spike! SPIKE!!!” Twilight shouted. In an instant flash, Spike came flying through Twilight’s door, turned on the lights in her bedroom, and landed right on her bed. “Whats the matter, Twilight?” Spike asked. “Spike, those strange, spooky unearthly noises have got to stop! They’re keeping me from sleeping!” Twilight being firmed on the matter. “Oh, sorry about that. I won’t stay up reading the words from my comic again.” Spike apologized, while feeling a bit sheepish. “No, Spike, I don’t mean you reading your comics at night,” Twilight corrected him while starting to feel a bit more scared, “I meant there are other things out there making that noise!” “You, you don’t mean….” Spike shuttered to answer. “Yeah I do,” Twilight still feeling scared and winced, “Things that go bump in the night.” Music again for third time started to play out and Twilight began to sing. Twilight: Those scary noises in the night Surly are a dreadful fright Those spooky sounds have got to go So search the palace high and low Let’s go and find those scary sounds They’re coming from the underground They surely are dreadful fright Things that go bump in the night (The two got up and started to cling onto each other) We’ve got to get some sleep somehow So go and find those noises now They’re really strange and heardly too And I can’t sleep until we do It’s not that I’m a scaredy cat But I must sleep and that is that They surely are a dreadful fright Things that go bump in the night As Twilight finished singing and the music stopped, Spike snapped his claws as an idea just came to him. “Twilight, I think I have the solution to our problem!” Spike cheered, as he rushed off for a moment. “Would that be to search every nook and cranny of the Castle until we find that strange, spooky unearthly creature that’s making those awful noises?” Twilight guessed as Spike then returned. “Um….close,” Spike then held up items in his claws, “I got some earplugs, so that we don’t have to go near that strange, spooky unearthly creature that’s making those awful noises.” “Earplugs?” Twilight asked in confusion, “Spike, I don’t think that is the solution.” “On contraire, my dear Twilight, with these bad boys, we won’t be able to hear the things that go bump in the night,” Spike explained, as he and Twilight started to put the plugs in their ears. As they did they then spoke to each other in loud voices. “THERE! YOU SEE!! YOU CAN’T HEAR A THING!!” Spike shouted. “WHAT?” Twilight asked in shout. “WHAT?” Spike asked in shout response. “WHAT?” Twilight asked again. “WHAT?” Spike asked in shout response again, until he remembered as he pointed his ears, “Oh right the earplugs!” “WHAT?” Twilight asked in shout response for the third time as she then started to take out her earplugs. “I SAID TAKE OUT YOUR EARPLUGS!” Spike shouted but did see Twilight taking off her earplugs “Spike!! You don’t have to shout!! I’m right here!” Twilight yelled, causing Spike to trampled. “Oh, sorry, Twilight! But as you can see, with these in our ears we’ll be able to sleep again!” Spike shouted in response. “Spike, take those out!” Twilight getting irritated ordered. “WHAT?” Spike asked in shout. Twilight rolled her eyes as she used her magic to forcibly pulled the plugs our of Spike’s ears, causing him to shout in pain. He rubbed them. “Spike, this is ridiculous!” Twilight responded, “Earplugs don’t solve the problem, they hide the problem that there’s a strange spooky unearthly creature down in the catacombs!” “The Catacombs!!!” Spike gasped in fright. “Meow!! Were you looking for me?” said a voice causing the two to turn around and see another creature with a silly cat face. It then poof to what revealed to be just the Master of Chaos himself, Discord. “No! I said catacombs as in spooky underground passageways beneath my castle, not cat, Discord!” Twilight replied in annoyance, “What’re you even doing here in the middle of the night?” “Oh, I was just taking a midnight stroll and just happen to stop by,” Discord replied with a sly grin on his face, "But can’t help from overhearing your sleeping problem and thought I could offer my assistance.” “We appreciate that, Discord, but I don’t think it’s not gonna do us any good. No pony has ever dared to go down in the catacombs at night.” Spike spoke in fright. “Then perhaps let a cat be your guide through the catacombs.” Discord replied, once again turning his face into a silly cat, as he then laughed. Both Twilight and Spike saw that there was no other option but to let Discord help them guide through the catacombs. They began leaving the bedroom, and through the halls following the noise. For a while the closer they followed the noise the louder it got. They came upon the area where the noise was the loudest. They searched the area until Twilight felt one of the candle holders a little loose. She pulled it and a secret passage opened and revealed the way to the catacombs. Twilight then used her horn to light the way, as they all proceeded with caution, not knowing whatever creature is down there, making all this nightly ruckus. As they walked down through the catacombs, all around the hallways were covered by thousands dust and cobwebs, making Spike feeling more unease with his fear on whoever made all these cobwebs. Twilight was also looking a bit unease as they searched around where they are. “Spike, are you scared?” Twilight asked in a whimpering voice. “Oh, come on, Twilight,” Spike laughed at first but then switched to being terrified as he then clung onto Twilight, “Not much!” “Well, we should be cause I’m getting a feeling we’re going to be stuck down here cleaning up this place for the next year.” Twilight spoke in her tone voice. “Now that should make a couple of very large fuzzy purple pony eaters!!” Discord appeared out of nowhere between the two. He then laughed at that pun intended as the two gave him deadpan looks. It did not last long until that unearthly noise kicked into high gear and echoed all along the hallways, making the group feeling more uneased than before. “Wha? What was that?” Twilight shrieked. “Um…that’s my cue to exit!” Discord shrivled in fright, “It’s been nice knowing you!” Discord then magically unzipped the fabric of reality, making a passageway and went through back to his home and then zipped up the fabric of reality. “Wait, Discord, don’t go! We don’t know our way around down here!!” Twilight pleaded before the zipper magically disappeared. This in turn got Twilight furious, “Uugghhh!! That Discord!! I can’t believe he ditched us!! If I ever get my hooves on him, I….I..” “Uh, Twilight, I think we got bigger problems on our hands right now.” Spike spoke in realization on the situation at hand. “You're right, we need to find out whose making all that noise.” Twilight sighed, as she calmed herself, knowing Spike was right as they then proceed onward. The further they walked though the catacombs, the louder the noise kept on playing through their ears, making them have to cover it too. Twilight was becoming more and more impatient. “Do you see anything on where that noise is coming from?” Twilight asked in annoyance while searching around the corner entrances. “No, but by the sound of it, I would say its sounds like it’s coming from a pipe organ. Almost similar to the one at the Castle of the Two Sisters.” Spike responded and shuttered as he recalled their first time at the castle. “Listen, it keeps on getting louder.” Twilight shushed him as they proceeded slowly. “Yeah, it’s getting louder alright, but it’s also getting catchier,” Spike listened as the music started to change a little bit, there by causing him to move to the beat, really liking it, “It fact, that’s Polka Music!” Twilight then smiled as she too listened to the beat and moved her head at first and then her body. Looking at each other, they decided to dance to the beat. Started with a bow and then danced in that spot. At first they laughed and enjoyed it, but it didn’t last long when the sweet music switched back to the unearthly tone. Causing Spike and Twilight to stop and clung onto each other in fright once again. “Oh Spike. Spike. I know it’s scary, but we got to find out whose making that music,” Twilight pulled Spike together as she then started to look tough, “Come on! Follow me!” Twilight then proceeded onward with Spike still clinging onto her, refusing to let go, following the music which was getting louder and louder. Before long, they came upon a chamber entrance, peeked from the side and what they saw absolutely shocked them. The chamber contained many candles lit all around, filled with fair amount of cobwebs. What the two saw next, even more shocked them and could not even believe their eyes, for there was a shadowy figure sitting with the pipe organ playing in such a grim tone. The two looked at each other as they started to speak. “Wh-What d-do you t-th-think that is? The P-Pony of S-Sh-Shadows again?” Spike whispered, as he stuttered in fright. “I don’t think so Spike,” Twilight whispered in response, as she examined the shadowy figure, “He looks more like a Phantom.” “T-T-Th-The P-P-Pony P-P-Ph-Phantom of the C-C-C-Castle!” Spike stuttered even more. For they were right, the shadowy figure turned out to be a Pony Phantom dressed with a black cape with old ball gown garbs and wearing on the face, covering it was a white mask, as if he was hiding something. Twilight examined with curiosity, knew what she must do, “I’ve got to find out whose under that mask!” Twilight then went over to the Pony Phantom who continuing playing the music and doesn’t even know the two are there. Spike tried to stop Twilight from going, but Twilight used her magic to push Spike away as they got closer enough to try and reach over a few times. Until finally she used her magic to pull the mask off. Result of it the Pony Phantom shouted in a more gruesome grunt. He turned around to the two revealing his more frightful, gruesome face with a few wrinkles, terrifying eyes and huge mouth with only half his teeth showing, got up as he was ready to attack the two with thunder and lighting commencing in the background. Twilight and Spike realize what they must do next, none other than to run away and scream in panic, leaving the chamber and exiting out of the catacombs as quickly as they can farther away from the Pony Phantom. The Phantom was only puzzled at first to why they left in such a hurry, shrugged his shoulders, sat back down, flipped the switch, and started playing a different music, one that seems to be in a more jazzy tone, as he continued to enjoy what he does in the dark chamber. But sometimes late at night, you can still hear the sound of organ music, drifting out somewhere behind those Castle walls! The scene cuts back to reality as Rarity concluded her scary story, leaving the whole group petrified and in horror after hearing the whole story. Everyone looked over to the three and noticed that once again Fluttershy, Scootaloo, and Ocellus who really felt calm throughout the whole story. “Man, that story seems a bit too extreme.” Sandbar spoke while trying to calm down. “You said it.” Yona agreed. “Oh, come on, you can’t honestly believe that whole ‘Pony Phantom’ nonsense.” Gallus replied while mimicking the Pony Phantom routine. The group laughed at that as Sweetie Belle also calmed herself down before speaking. “Good story, sis,” Sweetie Belle pulled herself together, before looking over to Fluttershy, Scootaloo, and Ocellus who were giving her a deadpan look, “Oh come on! You three can’t tell me that wasn’t a scary story!” “Well to be honest with you Sweetie Belle, I thought the story was even more sillier than the first one,” Scootaloo replied her opinion as Fluttershy nodded. “Yeah, come on a Pony Phantom?” Ocellus spoke in annoyance, “That’s something only for little ones during their bedtime.” “Well, Spikey-Wikey doesn’t seem to agree with you three,” Rarity pointed over to where Spike was sitting only to see he was under the blanket shivering in fright. Twilight used her magic to pull the blanket off of Spike with a smile on her face, “Come on Spike. That story was not scary. I’ll tell you a real scary story that will make your scales all shrivled up.” “I appreciate that very much, Twilight.” Spike sarcastically replied before Twilight began her tale. “This is a story of three pegasi, tropical gecko, and a hare,” Twilight spoke as she pointed out towards Chet, Fluttershy, Rainbow and Scootaloo, who were surprised that they’re in this one, as Spike then tossed the blanket over to Fluttershy, before proceeding Twilight’s tale, “Who learned a terrible secret of….the WereHare!! The Curse of the WereHare"The four friends were returning from a faithful camping trip, on the night of a full moon.” The story proceed with having Chet, Fluttershy, Angel, Rainbow and Scootlaloo walking through the Everfree Forest, crossing bridges and reaching certain points on the trail at night trying to reach home. “(Phew) I didn’t realize it be this late getting home.” Chet spoke trying to catch his breath and did some stretches from all that walking. “Late….in…the..dark,” Scootaloo winced as she clung onto Fluttershy who were both shivering in fright. “Well, we would’ve been home hours ago if somepony haven’t insisted we stop at ‘Everfree Roadside TradeStop’,” Rainbow pointed out as she too did some stretches. “Oh, come now, Rainbow, don’t you think it was worth it seeing an actual two hundred pound Albino Hamster?” Chet asked as he describe the weight of the rodent. “I actually think it was adorable seeing it up close its fuzzy wittle face,” Fluttershy calmed herself and commented while gushing and cooing. “I found that a little cute too, aside from all the other weird animals I’ve seen from that place,” Scootaloo replied “Not really that interesting. I thought we actually see more other weird creatures around that place, but none actually lived up to my expectations.” Rainbow spoke in disappointment. “You only got interested in weird animals from that story the villagers spoke calling it the WereHare!” Chet pointed out, “And besides that overweight Hamster was real, and only Fluttershy would adore that most. Anyway the ‘WereHare’ is just a tall tale.” Rainbow laughed, “Yeah, never actually believed it when that old pony came to us and just told us of that story and told us to keep a straight face. What was her name again?” “I believe it was Maria Openskya,” Chet recalled the name as he said more of that story, “She did warn that whoever gets just even a teeny tiny eensy beensy scratch from a WereHare, he too will become one at the time of Full Moon!” “And Fluttershy will have to get Angel a Flea Collar for him to wear!” Rainbow joked as she Chet and Scootaloo laughed as Fluttershy and Angel gave them a deadpan look. For fourth time, music started playing with the three began to sing. Chet: Late in the evening when the full moon rising high Rainbow: In the darkness of the forest you might hear a haunting cry Chet: It could be a a hungry whooly bear Scootaloo: Or just a wise old owl Together: But you’ll always recognize it by its howl! (Howling) Beware, beware! There are Werehares everywhere Tell me how much hair could a Werehare wear if a Werehare could wear hair Rainbow: It's ghastly Chet: It's grizzly Rainbow: It's grim Scootaloo: And gross Rainbow: And gruesome Chet: And lastly but not leastly Together: It hasn’t braced it’s tooth on face Scootaloo: They say the lack of morphis is extremely rare Together: But we really must admit we’re not that scared! There Werehares everywhere They’ll fretting you by biting you And you’ll be a Werehare too (Howling) As the song stopped, the three could do nothing more but laugh at the whole nonsense. All except Fluttershy who felt pretty annoyed. “Oh come on, Fluttershy, you can’t honestly find that a little funny?” Rainbow trying to collect herself. “Not really.” Fluttershy giving her a deadpan look. “Say, Flutters, what’s that on Angel’s little paw?” Chet eyeballed to Angel’s paw. Fluttershy examined it, “Oh that? It’s not but a teeny tiny eensy beensy scratch. Angel told me he noticed it this morning and must have got it from something last night. Assumed it was from a thorn bush.” Angel nodded his head to confirm it. “Or maybe it was from the WereHare!” Rainbow mocked again, causing her to laugh, and only for Chet and Scootloo to chuckle. Scootaloo took a closer look at Angel’s paw, “I don’t know, guys, that little scratch described seems little too coincidental.” “Oh come on squirt. You honestly can’t believe all that,” Rainbow ceased her laughing and trying to be reasonable. “Well, you can’t deny all of the other creatures we’ve dealt with in Equestria,” Chet recalled the past encounters, “I too find that little wound very suspicious. What if that story was true?” “Then Fluttershy will have to deal with a monster for a pet,” Rainbow joked as she laughed again. “Rainbow Dash! That's not funny!” Fluttershy getting mad at her. Suddenly caught by their surprise, heard a strange ringing sound. They looked around and then spotted a telephone booth, which was conveniently just standing nearby the group. They also find that a little too suspicious for the moment. “I wonder who that can be?” Scootaloo asked. “Not sure,” Rainbow responded, “Guess I’ll check it out.” Rainbow flew on over to answer the phone in the booth, “Uh, hello? Mom? Hey how you know I was all the way out here?” Rainbow asked, before hearing what the other line said and replied, “Yes, mom, I worn my long johns last night. Yes, mom, I thought of that before leaving the campsite.” As Rainbow continue talking on the phone the others kept back and chit chatted. “Do any of you find that too weird that now there’s a phone booth ringing out in the middle of the forest?” Scootaloo asked with a suspicious look,”What’s that even doing here?” “I’m not sure. That is a bit too coincidence that we happen to find one.” Fluttershy stated. “Hey where’s Angel?” Chet noticed and pointed behind Fluttershy. “Oh, he must’ve found rest stop right there,” Fluttershy explained, “ He told me that he needed to go. Not the first time that happened. I’m sure he’s fine.” The three then heard some rustling sounds coming from inside one of the bushes. They noticed it and thinking it might’ve been Angel coming back. But noticed a pair of great big yellow eyes looking at the three, which got them a little unease. What came out of the bush had a big bulky shadow which towered over the group. “Uh, Flutters, did you say that’s the shrub Angel was hopping towards to use the restroom?” Chet asked in fright as the group came into realization of what that big creature really was. “Is that…Angel?” the group asked together as they were starting to shake and shutter in fright. “Run for it?!?!” the group shouted as they dashed over to Rainbow and trying to tell her what is right in front of them. “Uh, Rainbow.” Scootaloo tried to get Rainbow’s attention. “Not now, Scoots.” Rainbow shushed her. “Come on, Scoots, let’s scram out of here!” Chet shouted as he Fluttershy and Scootaloo decided to make a run for it. Rainbow was too busy talking, she did not noticed her friends ran for their lives from what frighten them. “Mom, there’s nothing dangerous out here in this part of the woods.” Rainbow continued to talk over the phone until she overheard a growl. Rainbow spoke up,“Hold on mom, guys don’t growl, I’m talking on the phone! (Ahem) sorry about that mom those were my friends.” As Rainbow was talking the monster creeped up on her and breathed on her. Rainbow caught wind of it. “Hold on, mom, (Phew) Scootaloo, I know we were camping but did you at least brush you teeth?” Rainbow feeling repulsed by that bad breath then held up an item used from the time she and Rarity encountered a large swamp multi-eyed frog while searching for the missing magical items, “Here, try Rarity’s new breath mint.” The beast then reached for the breath mint. Rainbow noticed the sharp talons taking the breath mint. She then snickered thinking it was Chet’s hand. “No offense, Chet, but I think you need an appointment to the talon clippers.” Rainbow joked The monster growled again on which Rainbow getting annoyed from those phone interruptions finally snapped, “Really, guys, you all got the manners of a WereHa…….” Rainbow turned to where she thought the others were only to find the thing that was actually making those interruptions was in their place. The thing was very big and bulky with fur in much darker gray color, ears in sharp points, whiskers twitched, very sharp talons on paw hands and big feet, bloody big yellow eyes and rabbit tooth with much sharper teeth right next to the middle one. To this Rainbow shuttered, eyes wide open, knees shaking, wings wiggling and trying to speak until finally shouted,“WEREHARE?!?!?!?! (SCREAMS) WAIT UP, GUYS!!!!!” The monster only can howl at the full moon, screeching and roaring as he began hunting for food through out the night. The scene cute back to reality with Twilight finishing her story. And so the poor innocent little bunny was cursed the rest of his days, doomed to become a snarling, howling WereHare on the night of a full moon. On a night like tonight! Feeling A Bit JumpyAfter Twilight finished her story the whole group was left in a complete scare, frightful, and terrified mode as they soon laughed and chuckled as they calm themselves and pulled themselves all together. “(Phew) Man that was a pretty terrifying tale. Well done, Twilight,” Chet commended, as Twilight smiled and giggled. “Aw shucks, you’re making me blush here.” Twilight giggled. “Boy, that really was a scary story.” Spike feeling a bit more terrified than ever but trying to keep his cool. “You said it, Spike.” Smolder also felt a bit shaken. “Man, I almost lost all my feathers on my wings from hearing that!” Gallus feeling a bit scared. “I know, mine almost did too.” Silverstream replied while keep her wings clamped down “Wow to the wow, that story was extreme, scared the wits out of me,” Sandbar screamed in excitement before noticing Yona, ”Uh, Yona are you alright?” “Y-y-yona n-n-not s-s-sc-scared of s-st-st-story.” Yona replied while shaking and rocking back and forth in her seat. Ocellus noticed the blanket shuttering right next to Fluttershy, “Um Fluttershy is that Angel’s teeth we hear chattering?” Fluttershy noticed and lifted the blanket up noting Angel being terrified, “I’m afraid it is.” Pinkie Pie popped up behind her, “Unless somepony brought another set!” Pinkie held up a set of chattering teeth gag as she giggled as did the rest of the gang. “Aw come on, you guys weren’t really scared by that story were you?” Scootaloo spoke up and feeling for once was not really scared, ”It was fun!” “For once, I’m not actually scared at all from neither of those stories,” Fluttershy confirmed, “They were fun.” “Oh, yeah sure….fun,” Spike hesitantly replied, “Like the tale of the Phantom Pony of the Castle!!” “Or the one with the Swamp Monster!” Sweetie Belle mentioned as everyone else agreed. “Oh, listen to you all. And after you gave Fluttershy, Scootaloo, and Ocellus such a hard time,” Twilight pointed out, “Now all of you are spooked out and they aren’t.” “Yeah, because these three are very wise to know that some monsters are not real, not like the ones we all encounter here in Equestria,” Chet concur his thoughts with Twilight. The group felt a little at ease hearing and seeing their point of the whole deal. Suddenly, the group heard a very loud disturbing grow, making the group feeling unease. “Wh-What in the world was that?” Rarity winced. “Sounded like a growl!” Applejack feeling scared. “The kind that a Swamp Monster would make!!” both Applebloom and Sweetie Belle spoke. “Actually, that was only my tummy rumbly,”Pinkie spoke with a squeaky grin,”Let’s eat some more!” Everyone were in a sigh of relief. Didn’t last long when they then heard a strange unearthly music playing in the sky, once again got everyone unease. “Shhh! Shhh! Listen, do you hear that?” Spike shushed the group while hesitated to speak, “It sounds like the Pony Phantom playing the Pipe Organs!” “Don’t be ridiculous, Spike,” Twilight assured Spike,“It’s probably just the wind.” As if things were not looking bad enough, the group then heard a horrid howling occurring from a distance, making the group feel even more unease. “Y-yo-you d-d-do-don’t suppose that could b-be a…” Rainbow Dash winced while she and Pinkie clung onto each other while almost every pony and creature had the exact same thought in mind. ”WEREHAAARE!?!?!?!?!?,” Everyone screamed as they started to jump out of their seats collecting their things and ran far from the campfire like scared rabbits. All except for Chet, Twilight, Fluttershy, Scootaloo and Ocellus. “Wait a minute, everyone!” Ocellus called out, “There’s no such thing as a Swamp Monster, or a Pony Phantom, or a WereHare!!” But to no avail, the whole group kept on running away from the campfire. “I don’t think they heard you, Ocellus.” Scootaloo confirmed. “O,h dear I’m afraid they’re a bit too spooked from those three stories." Fluttershy felt worried for her friends. “Oh, good grief! The next thing you know, they’ll all start believing in ghosts!” Twilight feeling a bit irritated. “Uh Twi,” Chet tapped on Twilight’s shoulder, ”I think you might want to change your physician after...THAT!!!” Chet then pointed the direction he was looking at as the other looked the same way and what they saw were a trio of ghostly figures hovering over the fire. They seem to be dressed in hitchhiking wears. The middle one was very tall wearing an old fashion night coat with old bowtie and wearing a Derby Bowler Hat. The second one was little shorter than the first wearing a heavier coat and a Top Hat, and carrying a bag. And the third was very short and very hairy with long beard, wearing ragged clothing and carrying a chain weight in his arms. They each were holding up their hooves and got them into hitchhiking points. Just then more spooky music began to sing in a more jazz way and the ghost start singing. (Ghost 1) When the crypt doors creak And the tombstones quake (Ghost 2 and 3) Spooks come out for a singing wake (Ghost 1) Happy haunts materialize (Ghost 2 and 3) And begin to vocalize (Together) Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize (Ghost 1) Now don't close your eyes And don't try to hide (Ghost 2 and 3) Or a silly spook may sit by your side (Ghost 1) Shrouded in a daft disguise (Ghost 2 and 3) They pretend to terrorize (Together) Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize (Ghost 1) As the moon climbs high o'er dead oak tree (Ghost 2 and 3) Spooks arrive for the midnight spree (Ghost 1) Creepy creeps with eerie eyes (Ghost 2 and 3) Start to shriek and harmonize (Together) Grim grinning ghosts come out socialize (Ghost 1) When you hear the knell of a requiem bell (Ghost 2 and 3) Weird glows gleam where spirits dwell (Ghost 1) Restles bones etherealize (Ghost 2 and 3) Rise as spooks of every size (Together) Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize (Spooky Laughing) To the sight of the three, got the five terrified as they then screamed in fright. “WAIT FOR US!!!” The five shouted as they too collected their things and ran after the group away from the spot. To their confusion, the ghostly trio scratched their head, shrugged and floated down to pick up what seem to be leftover snacks the group brought. They savored the taste, grabbed the bucket full of water and extinguished the fire before laughing at ghostly tone before floating away into the night. Author's Note The three Hitch Hike Ghost ponies were based from the same Hitch Hiking Ghosts (Disney Haunted Mansion) and their song.
Epilogue: NightMare Night What A FrightAfter dashing away from those ghosts, Chet, Twilight, Fluttershy, Scootaloo and Ocellus finally made it out of the woods. When they stopped, they took very deep breathes and collecting themselves. “Man, that was too close!” Chet breathed heavily. “You said it, Chet,” Scootaloo concurred. Ocellus looked back where they came through and pondered, “Who exactly were those ghosts? I’ve never exactly seen any like them before.” “I have no idea,” Twilight replied, “I’ve always didn’t believe in the supernatural but this would be a first that I’ve ever seen one.” The group heard a call and looked around. They then saw coming towards them was the rest of the gang. “There y’all are,” Applejack called out, “We were worried if any of those monsters caught up to y’all!” “Oh, thank goodness,” Rarity sighed of relief, “We were worried you five might not have gotten yourselves out of there.” “Are you guys ok?” Rainbow asked. “Yes we’re fine,” Twilight confirmed while trying o keep her cool, “We just had to stay and put out the fire before catching up with you all.” Just then they were hearing small snickering and then bursts of laughing coming from Scootaloo, the group turned to her. “Hey, what’s so funny?” Sweetie Belle asked in irritation. “Sorry but, I can’t get over the fact seeing how sacred you all were from hearing those noises,” Scootaloo spoke in-between laughs, “That was the most fun I had in moons!” Scootaloo could not stop laughing as she rolled around the ground. This in turn Chet, Twilight, Fluttershy and Ocellus got into the laughing mode as well. “Must admit, the looks on your faces were priceless!!” Chet burst out laughing. “Oh my, I haven’t laughed this much in years,” Fluttershy giggled trying to contain herself. “I have-not had this much fun since our Girls Retreat,” Twilight giggled. “And you all thought I was the timid one?” Ocellus spoke in between laughs. With that the rest of the group started to laugh, realizing that they were so scared, they forgot it was fun. “I plump almost forgotten that round this time of the year, this here be fun to be scared on NightMare Night.” Applejack spoke while Applebloom agreed. “Finally! It’s about time you all got it!” Came from a familiar voice and poof out of nowhere was none other than Discord. “Discord?” The group gasped. “What on earth are you doing here at night?” Rarity inquire. “What did you think of all those spooky noises I made?” Discord asked while hovering over the group “Spooky noises?” The group looked confused while looking at each other. “Yes yes yes, you know the kind you would expect at this terrifying night of the year,” Discord spoke while wiggling his fingers at the moment. He then floated over towards both Chet and Fluttershy, ”And you can thank these two friends for setting up the whole thing.” “Wait a second,” Twilight shared her pondered thought, “You mean to tell me that it was you that’s been making those sounds at the campfire? And you two knew about this the whole time?” “Yeah, the other day when I spoke to Fluttershy about what we were doing, I let her in on a little secret part that was sure to spice things up,” Chet explained, “Asking Discord to do a little trickery magic to really get tin the NightMare Night Spirit.” “Just as long as it was not really too scary.” Fluttershy grinned sheepishly. “Oh, but I surely got a kick out of this.” Discord laughed. “Well the only thing we were not counting on were those three hitchhiking ghosts hovering over the campfire,” Chet confessed. “G-G-GH-GHOSTS?!?!” Yona shriveled in fear. “Hitchhiking ghosts?” Sandbar asked. “What the heck you taking about?” Gallus asked. “Oh that reminds me,” Discord snapped his digits, “I had some friends who helped out with the whole scaring deal.” Just then, appearing next to Discord were the same three hitchhiking ghost ponies with grins on their faces and then laughed. “Wait a minute,” Chet spoke, “You mean to tell me that you know these ghost ponies?” “Why yes,” Discord concurred, “These ghosts were very good friends of mine during my time. This is Crone Bone, Bag Snag and Hairy Scary. We were roommates in scare collage.” The three ghosts waved and greeted as the group wave back and laughed nervously. “Discord here told us all about each of you and the adventures and trials you faced.” Crone Bone spoke. “We were all fascinated by the idea of having scare fun he filled us in, we decided to have some of that action.” Bag Snag confirmed, “Hope we didn’t do too extreme.” “And what did you think of our catchy tune?” Hairy Scary asked, “We haven’t done that bit in many years.” “Well, actually you kinda did gave quite a fright, but now it makes senses,” Twilight replied, “And I have to admit, the song is catchy, as much as Pinkie’s other song the one time we first met Zecora.” “Which was a working progress,” Pinkie slid beside Twilight with a squeaky grin, much to Twilight playfully rolling her eyes. “Ahem, aside from all the formalities, I would say with all we went through this evening, this has been the most spectacular night I ever endure,” Rarity announced, “I do believe we all owe it to our friend Chetgeki for making this all possible.” The group agreed and turned to Chet. “I gotta hand it to you, Chet, the campfire scary story telling was awesome!” Rainbow went next to Chet and placed her wing around him, “I think my heart was still pounding from what we went through.” Chet smiled as he noticed Fluttershy nuzzling on him and spoke, “You were right about tonight. It was definitely fun, ling as we were with our friends. It did kinda help me see that not everything of NightMare Night is just scary, but also fun. I guess what I'm trying to say is, thank you!” “Daw stop, you’re making me blush.” Chet’s face turning all red as he accepted all the kind words every pony was giving him. “It’s true, Chet, this may have been the best night we all ever had,” Twilight stood next to Chet as she then embraced him which he accepts, “Even better than the last few recent years.” “I kinda feel like we should have this be a part of NightMare night every year.” Spike suggested as every pony else was liking that idea. “Well, if you guys are all okay with making one of my Holiday tradition be a part of yours, then alright it’s settled.” Chet declared and the group cheered in delight. “Any who, the night is still young and we still got plenty of scare on parties in town! Plus I did promise Tenderheart Kisses and her Ghostly Friends that we be at their own NightMare Night Party in town!” Pinkie beamed with a squeaky grin. “Yer right Pinkie, we still got hours of them spook and frights before we y’all rest,” Applejack agreed, “So come on let’s head back to town and celebrate the night away with other friends!” The others are definitely in favor of the idea as they then started to head over. Fluttershy look at Discord and the three ghosts, “And you four can join us in town.” “Oh splendid!!” Crone Bone. “Capital suggestion!” Bag Snag. “Well what are we waiting for?” Hairy Scary rhetorically asked. “Oh, very well, I don’t think we’ll end up doing the same like we did in the woods.” Discord replied as they then followed the group. As they all proceeded to town they were all chanting together, “NightMare Night. What a Fright. Give us something sweet to Bite!” As they all head over, Chet and Twilight kept back behind. Twilight had her wing around Chet and unexpected gave him a peck on the cheek, which he was in a state of stupor. Twilight blushed as she spoke, “Happy NightMare Night, Chet!” Chet smiled as he pecked Twilight back and replied, “Happy NightMare Night, Twilight,” They smiled as they finally reached town and embraced the festivities in town on this spooky holiday night withe the scene pointing up towards the full moon. Then a howl commenced as bats then started flying pass through the scene. Happy Halloween and NightMare Night to all! And to all a Boo Fright!!!
