For the past two weeks, the walk between classrooms when a new period started made Fluttershy nervous. She’d hold her books close to her chest as she scurried from one room to the next, always keeping her eyes darting from side to side, hoping to spot an intruder before they descended upon her. She shuffled with short steps that sent her skirt fluttering around her ankles, tried her best to shrink her head into her shoulders to stay low, and always made sure to stick to the pack. Sometimes, it worked. Sometimes she managed to make it to her next class without having to contend with the butterflies in her belly or the nervous goosebumps lining her arms, or without having to sit the entire next class in a state of bewildered confusion.
But then, some days…
“There’s my girl! Looking delicious, as always.” Chrysalis was sometimes so stealthy and sneaky that it seemed like she fell from the ceiling, landing perfectly beside Fluttershy and taking the girl’s hand in her own. The whole thing was accented with a pair of baggy black jeans with holes in the knees and chains dangling from the pockets, adding a little air of danger and attitude that no one else at CHS seemed to have.
Chrysalis was unique. She was dangerous. And for some reason, she seemed to think that her feelings for Fluttershy were reciprocated.
“H...Hello, Chrysalis, uhm…” Fluttershy nibbled her bottom lip, gazing down to where her fingers were interlaced with the other girl’s own. A few gentle tugs didn’t help her escape, and she pressed the issue in her usual timid tone. “You’re...you’re holding my hand again. Uhm...w...we’re not…”
“Not supposed to? Ha, I know, but who cares what that cunt Celestia says?” Chrysalis grinned, punctuating the C word particularly loud, as if daring Celestia to hear it. She released Fluttershy’s hand only for a brief second, darting her arm behind the girl for a fresh new target. “Not supposed to grab that cute little ass of yours, but...oops!”
Fluttershy’s squeak was so loud that several students in the hall turned to face her, and she immediately hid behind the book she had been holding to her chest. It was a few seconds after before Chrysalis finally released her grasp on her friend’s rear, just so she could once more fit her hand snugly within Fluttershy’s own. From there it was her that controlled the direction they were walking in, pulling along the young woman with a playful smile on her face.
“Fuck, the noises you make are the cutest.” Chrysalis grinned, fully planning to remember that sharp squeak so she could enjoy it later. “How’s your classes going, baby? No one picking on you? If they are, you just let me know, and I’ll fuck them up something fierce!”
“W-What?! N-No, nobody’s picking on...goodness, Chrysalis!” Fluttershy peeked from behind her book, shocked at the implication of such a thing. She stumbled along with the aggressive punk, whimpering from the back of her throat as she did so. “Please, don’t! People are already afraid to talk to me ever since you punched Trixie in the belly!”
“Hey, she had it coming!” Chrysalis’ grin was immediate, and she flexed the fingers of her free hand into a fist. “After what she said about your hair? Sparkly-headed bitch was just lucky I had detention, otherwise I would’ve stuck around to give her a double dose! Nobody makes Chrysalis’ best girl sad!”
Fluttershy just sighed, a tiny pout rising to her lips as she continued along with the other girl. The butterflies were back in her belly. The nervous goosebumps were back on her arms. She was walking wherever Chrysalis was pulling her, just like she always did. Such was the nature of their unusual relationship - the new punk girl thought that she and Fluttershy were dating, and although the timid young woman could’ve sworn that she never agreed to such an arrangement, there she was keeping pace beside her.
Still...the hand locked against her own didn’t feel all that bad, and it was sort of nice having someone that was so eager to defend her. (Even if she did hate the punchy parts.) As the two girls rounded the corner and started dipping deeper down the halls, Fluttershy might have still been pouting, but she wasn’t trying to pull away anymore.

It was in one of the lesser-used girl’s restrooms that their walk finally ended, with Chrysalis pulling Fluttershy inside and slamming the door behind them. In an instant she was on the other girl - pressing her slender body against the sweet young thing’s frame, her hands drifting down to help herself as she so often did. The blush that covered her cheeks like a shroud began deep in her chest, and she was left utterly helpless as Chrysalis leaned in to press the very whisper of a kiss against her throat. Ever since she had first fell into CHS and taken a liking to Fluttershy, this had been a moment she craved. For another long moment she remained in place, squeezing Chrysalis in return and snuggling her as much as he could before they had to leave. They hadn’t yet heard the bell again, but Fluttershy had no idea just when the current class period would be over...it sure felt like they were doing naughty things all afternoon. When the intimate embrace finally ended the pair rose to their feet, and Fluttershy did her best to clean up while Chrysalis pulled her pants back into place. Not much else was said between them until they started to make their way to the exit, and Fluttershy’s hand snuck down to claim Chrysalis’ own.
This time, she was the one that instigated. Her fingers interlocked with the bad girl’s and she even leaned against her, her other arm stretching over to hold onto her bicep in a feminine, affectionate fashion. The pair shared a small smile as they lingered near the door, before Chrysalis leaned down to kiss her girlfriend - briefly - and offer a tiny whisper against her lips.
“Walk you home tonight?”
Fluttershy just snuggled in closer, and made a satisfied, adorable squeaking noise.
“That’s what girlfriends do, right?”
