I brought out a human version of an original character from my first story, “Trading Memories”.
A Wallflower in Peril
Dressed in only a magenta colored T shirt and blue exercise shorts, Wallflower Blush sat cross legged after starting her morning with yoga exercises. Then, a knock at the door got her attention. She went to the door, and was surprised.
In steps a tall man with light grey skin and dark gray hair. And, wearing a blue business suit with a brown tie and black shoes. He then steps inside the house.
“Miss Wallflower Blush,” The tall man greeted, “my name is Shadow Streak. And, I’m a behavioral expert.”
“A behavioral expert?” Wallflower Blush wondered.
“Yes. I have been watching you for a few weeks. And, I believe that your behavior can use an improvement.”
Wallflower raised an eyebrow. “My behavior. I never heard any complaints from my school. Principal Celestia said that I am doing well.”
“Is that so?” Shadow Streak said. “Well, I think you can do better.” He then makes a nasty announcement. “I going to have you sent to a private school.”
“A private school?” Wallflower said panicky.
“Yes! Wait here.”
Shadow Streak went to another room in the house. Wallflower sat on the couch, wondering what’s going on. Ten minutes later, she was lead to an unused room upstairs of her house. On a table is what looks like a timer. The intruder approaches her with a piece of rope.
“Now then,” Shadow Streak ordered, “turn around and put your hands behind you back!”
Not wanting to argue, she did what he said. Taking the rope, he ties her wrists together. Then, he explained her situation.
“People from a private school will arrive in one hour,” Shadow Streak explains, “to take you away.” He then went to his timer. “When I flip this switch, it will countdown to your doom.”
Pushing a button, he starts a timer. The clock read 60:00. Then, it started to countdown. Wallflower got a bit nervous as Shadow Streak started to leave the room.
“Remember,” he told her, “one hour!”
He then closed the door, leaving Wallflower in a nasty spot.
Wallflower started to think about her situation.
I can imagine what it would be like in a private school. Wallflower was thinking. I'll be so far away from my friends. Especially Sunset Shimmer. I'll have to wear a school uniform everyday. And, have a lot of teachers look down at me. The thoughts went away as she continues to get nervous. My freedom is in danger here.
She then looks at the timer. I only have 55 minutes left. She then sits down, accepting her peril. This does not look good.
Shadow Streak sits in an office next to the room where he left Wallflower Blush is still tied up.
“This is getting scary.” Wallflower thought out loud. “I hope there’s a way out of this.”
“I doubt that.” Shadow Streak said as he came into the room. “There’s no way you’re getting out of this.” He looks at the timer. “You have 50 minutes, young lady. Then, you’ll sport a new look.” He goes back into the office. “A new school uniform.”
Shadow Streak closes the door, leaving Wallflower in tears.
Inside the office, Shadow Streak was that on the phone with somebody.
“Yes, Sir.” Shadow Streak said. “The young lady I told you about is awaiting your arrival. She’s tied up in the next room. You’ll arrive at the designated time? Excellent. Thank you, good-bye.”
He hung up the phone and is very pleased with this situation. That young girl is on her way to the private school. In 45 minutes, her freedom is gone.
Wallflower stood up, and saw the timer again she went into panic mode.
“Only 40 minutes until those private school people come.” Wallflower thought out loud. “I’m not standing around for this.”
The bound girl tries to undo her bonds. Just then, the vicious Shadow Streak bursted out of the office. “Not so fast!”
He gave her a big slap on the face. “The private school people want to see a HELPLESS girl!” He stormed back into the office. “Now, STAY helpless!”
As he slammed the door, Wallflower Blush panicked more.
The helpless girl kneels down, still feeling the slap on her face.
I can’t believe he did that to me. Wallflower thought as her fear increases. I thought things will get better since Sunset Shimmer showed me that I’m no longer alone. Now, that loneliness will come back. She then looks at the timer. In 35 minutes, my freedom will be GONE.
The infamous Shadow Streak decides to instigate Wallflower again.
"Getting nervous, Miss Blush?" Shadow Streak asked smugly. "You should be worried." He then looks at the timer. "In 30 minutes, the private school representative will arrive."
Seeing that Wallflower is sitting down, he pulls a piece of rope from his jacket pocket, and ties her ankles together. "Now you're COMPLETLEY helpless!"
Shadow Streak laughed meanly as he goes back into the office.
Inside an office at another building, a young man with orange skin and red hair in a ponytail sits at a desk. He wore a light teal long sleeve shirt, deep blue tie, navy pants and black tie. Looking at his computer, he calls out for someone. “Starlight Glimmer, come to my office.”
In steps a pink skinned lady with purple hair with light teal streaks. She wore a white shirt with a black shirt, a magenta jacket over the shirt, bright blue skirt and blue shoes. She approaches the young man. “You called, Sunburst?”
The young man, Sunburst, shows Starlight Glimmer an image of a familiar person. “I knew the name, Shadow Streak, sounded familiar. This man is a con artist who masquerades as a behavioral expert. He sets up kids to be taken by orphanages and private schools, like this one.”
“And, he takes in the profits!” Starlight finishes. “He has to be stopped!”
“He will. The dean has enough evidence to put him away for good.”
“So, what’s the plan?”
Sunburst tells his companion his idea. “Shadow Streak is waiting for us at the home of Miss Wallflower Blush. He expects us to be there within 25 minutes. When the time is right, we’ll have him taken away.”
In the office, Shadow Streak thinks about his evil plan.
What a great scheme I cooked up. Shadow Streak thought. After I do research on my victim, I would barge in, tie the victim up, and prepare him or her for removal. My victim is taken away, and I get paid handsomely.
My newest victim, Wallflower Blush, is next to go. She will be taken away in 20 minutes.
Wallflower Blush starts to panic more.
I know what’s going to happen to me. Wallflower thought. My room will be empty, my friends and family will be sad, and that Shadow Streak character will rake in any profit. My freedom is almost over. Wallflower starts to tear up as she looks at the timer. Now, I only have 15 minutes left.
Shadow Streak leaves his office to tease Wallflower more.
“Getting nervous?” Shadow taunted. “You should be. Soon, you’re on your way to a private school!” Wallflower starts to sweat as Shadow continues to be nasty. “Time is running out for you. You have 10 minutes left!”
Shadow casually returns to the office.
A car pulls up in front of Wallflower Blush’s house. Shadow Streak sees the people coming out.
“Ah, Sunburst and Starlight Glimmer.” Shadow Streak greeted. “Welcome.”
Sunburst steps out of his car. Starlight Glimmer follows him.
“Let’s get down to business.” Sunburst said gruffly. “Where’s this young lady you told the dean about?”
“You mean Wallflower Blush?” Shadow said. “She’s inside, all tied up, and waiting for you.”
Somebody will be waiting for you, Shadow. Starlight thought. Namely, the police.
Shadow continued his conversation. “The timer I set will go off in 5 minutes. Once if goes off. That’s when we’ll move in.”
Shadow Streak snickered cruelly. Sunburst and Starlight are not amused.
Still bound and helpless, Wallflower Blush knows that it’s over. The timer reaches zero and buzzes, indicating that time is up. Soon, Shadow Streak, Starlight Glimmer, and Sunburst enters the room.
“Here she is, Sir.” Shadow informed. “All set to take with you to the private school.”
After looking at Wallflower for a little bit, Sunburst turned to Starlight. “Untie this girl.”
Nodding, Starlight went over to Wallflower.
“Don’t worry.” Starlight said while undoing the ropes. “Things will be fine.”
Shadow Streak then asks for his payment. “Now that I presented this girl, how about a little cash reward?”
“Don’t worry.” Sunburst replied. “You’ll get what’s coming to you.”
As soon as the rope was removed, Wallflower rubbed her wrists. But, she was still very sad, believing that she won’t see her friends again.
“Miss Wallflower Blush,” Sunburst said, Getting her attention, “call the police!” She sees him holding Shadow Streak’s hands behind his back. “This swindler won’t cause you anymore trouble.”
The young lady was cheering, knowing that she is safe. Fifteen minutes later, the police escorted the fiend into a squad car. Then, the police, and the private school reps drove away.
“There goes my nightmare.” Wallflower Blush said to herself. “Now, I can breathe a lot easier.”
