Sometimes, love at first sight triumps over a steady relationship, but I still try to keep it within the logical boundaries, but anyways, here's my other commission I was paid to do. As always, thank you for patience and support, stay tuned for more and keep bronying on.
It All Began With A Single Glance
Everyone deserves to find happiness with their significant other. But there's no telling how or when it'll happen. Sometimes it starts out with them being childhood friends, sometimes it's a little shorter than that. Maybe sometimes it starts in their grown-up years, either at a beach, live shows, or at a bar. Either way, relationships build in many ways. Some last a lifetime, some of them last a short time. But the truly dedicated couples are what really set them apart from all of the others.
In Equestria, the Mane 6 have been looking after their homeland of Equestria and protecting it from danger and uniting friends worldwide. After all their hard work, each of the girls had to find time to settle down with their significant others.
Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship and owner of the School of Friendship, has hound love through her most trusted friend, turned wife, Sunset Shimmer. To think that it all started out with a stolen crown and has now been able to blossom into true love. Her friends were shocked, but somehow knew they fit together like day and night, peanut butter and jelly, Yin and Yang. Even Twilight's parents were happy for her and Sunset when they heard they were united in holy matrimony. The whole peanut butter and jelly statement was Pinkie Pie's statement, though, so it's no surprise it made the girls laugh.
Speaking of Pinkie, she found love with the one and only Cheese Sandwich. Their love for parties and bringing smiles on everyone's faces was something they just clicked on right from the day they first met. The girls knew they'd make the cutest couple and got married for it.
Rainbow Dash was able to find love and got married to Fluttershy, much to the girls' shock. They thought Rainbow would marry Soarin and Fluttershy would marry Discord. Sadly, Rainbow found out Soarin is already with Spitfire while Fluttershy didn't really see Discord as a potential love interest. Fluttershy actually saw the draconequus as more of a fatherly figure. He didn't mind and agreed it would be awkward if he dated Fluttershy and even more awkward if they did get married. It took a lot of time for Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash to work things out, but it all worked out for them in the end.
As for Applejack, she also found love with a mare. Mainly, her old friend, Coloratura. Or as she's called by her friends, Rara for short. She had come back to Ponyville after one of her tours around Equestria in order to take a little break and rest up her voice. Plus, since she and AJ shared some history together, it was no surprise they hit it off so well and were now officially together.
The only mare who, sadly, was still single, was Rarity. One of Ponyville's most beautiful unicorns and best fashionistas in the entire town. Despite her feminine charms and neverending beauty, she hadn't found the right stallion for her in her life. There was one time when she realized how Spike was there for her growing up, but the young dragon already found love with Gabby. This cute, fun-loving griffon eventually won over his heart and started dating him for a few years. To this day, Rarity blamed herself for not taking Spike's affections for her seriously that day.
And because of how she wanted her love to be a prince charming or some stallion of nobility, she was left with squat, due to her unreasonably high standards. Now, she's wanting to change it up and find a stallion who's willing to love her for who she is. It hurt that she had no boyfriend. Her friends still gave her some support to make her feel better, which she was grateful for.
As of right now, Rarity's at her shop, working on yet another wedding dress. This time, it was to be made for Spitfire, the captain of the Wonderbolts who was gonna marry Soarin. Spitfire wanted her wedding dress to have yellow and orange trims, but still have its main color traditional white. Rarity was taking every bit of detail into consideration just like she always does. Of course, the thought of Spitfire and Soarin’s marriage reminded Rarity, painfully of her sad single life. But she tries to drown those thoughts with her work so that she wouldn't make a mistake on the dress.
But in case she does break out in tears, she's got herself a tissue box ready. Or maybe 5. Rarity sighs as the promising fashionista keeps working. 'It seems luck does not favor me to find true happiness period. I've only got myself to blame. At this rate, I'll be living alone. Dear Celestia, when will my time come?' she thought to herself.
Later on, she had finally completed the dress just as Spitfire wanted. Speaking of which, just as she finished, she heard the front door being knocked on. "Come in," Rarity said. The door opens up and in walks Spitfire, the soon-to-be-wedded mare. "Oh, hello, Spitfire. You've come at a good time. I've just finished making the finishing touches on your dress. I hope it's to your liking." Rarity showed Spitfire the dress in full display and the captain was highly pleased at the work she's done. Orange and yellow trims and matching sash decorated her dress perfectly.
“Thanks for the dress, Rarity. You sure know how to make a top-quality dress with those skills. Is there any way I can repay you for your kindness?” Spitfire asked, admiring her dress.
"For this special occasion, I'll only charge you 50 bits. Soarn is lucky to have someone he'll spend the rest of his life with and you are a captain of one of the most elite flying teams. So, why don't we call this a discount and a blessing for you and Soarin's happiness," Rarity said. Spitfire felt good about Rarity's generosity, but she couldn't just let her give her the full discount like that. But Spitfire did take it up.
"I could just hug right here and now," Spitfire says.
"What's to stop doing so right now?" Rarity offers. Spitfire smiles and gives the fashionista a big, friendly hug before paying her the 50 bits, along with an extra 15 bit tip. Rarity happily took the bits and didn't even bother counting them took them to her cash register. "I'm still surprised you chose to get married to Soarin. I'm very happy for you nonetheless, Spitfire. I wish I knew what that was like."
“Well, maybe one day you’ll find a special somepony,” Spitfire said. “Oh, if you'd like, how would you like to be my best mare for the wedding?” She asked the fashionista. "Who knows, you might even be able to find your Mr. Right if at all possible." Rarity found it sweet that Spitfire was also doing what she could to help lift her spirits, especially considering her pandemic.
"Me? Your best mare?" Rarity asked in surprise. Her offer struck her. "That's awfully kind of you to offer, Spitfire and I do appreciate dearly. Perhaps if I ever have the free time out of my busy schedule, I'll humbly accept your offer and be your best mare," Rarity said. 'Although, I won't hold my breath, I've had little luck with finding the right stallion out there. Perhaps I should try finding love and happiness through other mares if things don't go so well at Spitfire's and Soarin's wedding.' Rarity thought to herself.
"Great. I'll be sure to brag to my family about your amazing work. Thanks again for putting this sweet dress together for when I get hitched," Spitfire said. The two ladies shared one last hug after their pleasant chat, then let go once more, leaving Rarity to watch as the bride-to-be turns to leaves.
“It was my utmost pleasure darling. See you at the wedding ceremony,” Rarity replied and happily waved goodbye to the Wonderbolt Captain, who waved back before leaving the Boutique. Now that Rarity was alone, she walked around her shop, tidying up and putting away her supplies. She sighs in exhaustion as she's cleaning up, thinking about what Spitfire told her. "Marriage. My special somepony? I'm not even sure if I'll even be able to land the right stallion at my current age."
Truth be told, Rarity was underestimating herself based on her age. Despite what she thinks, Rarity was only 26 years old and looked young and healthy. The only thing she did wrong was set her standards too high, only searching for nobility or royalty to marry.
She's hoping that she can at least lower some of those standards and pray to Celestia she finds a charming stallion or at least a stallion that treats her like a proper lady. If she gets lucky, she'll promise herself to show a shred of modesty and kindness towards them. And if things go right, she'll allow her special somepony to propose to her anytime they see fit. Hopefully one day, Rarity will have children before she turns 30, as most women can't stand hitting the big three-zero. Rarity was no exception. Hopefully, when she does marry, her significant other might also step up to be a great father.
Soon, after gathering her thoughts and finished cleaning up her shop, Rarity decides to head into the kitchen to fix up some dinner for herself. Sweetie Belle wasn't around as much anymore ever since she had gotten her own place and learned how to cook for herself and her boyfriend, Button Mash.
Rarity was very happy for her little sister and proud that she found love, but she was also jealous that Sweetie Belle found herself a boyfriend before Rarity could. But she didn't want it to affect her too much and risk losing her composure and go through her usual mental break downs with a large tub of ice cream. Anyways, she walked into the kitchen and got out some fresh ingredients for some alfredo pasta and a caesar salad with a glass of wine, one of her favorite drinks to sooth her nerves. She got to work on her preparations for her dinner while she was humming a little tune to herself to try and entertain herself.
During her cooking session, she reminisced about all the times she spent with her friends when they were still single, both good times and bad. Back then, when Twilight first came into town, she was ecstatic about befriending a pony who had connections with Princess Celestia.
In the beginning, she also found Spike to be the absolutely most adorable dragon she's ever met and thought it was cute how he had a crush on her. All the times he volunteered to help her out with her daily chores was just so chivalrous of him. The more she thought about how helpful Spike was, the more she felt guilty that she never took his feelings seriously, especially when Rarity practically begged him for the fire ruby he planned on eating for his birthday that one time. True, she did reward him with a kiss on the cheek, but it wasn't until later on as he got older that she had realized how much of a true gentleman he was and how she realized she took Spike for granted when she had driven him away from her heart.
She realized how she took her life for granted, always chasing stallions that she thought would be the right ones, but turns out that they weren’t. And always trying to live a lifestyle that wasn’t meant to be, no matter how hard she tried to convince herself it was. And when she realized this and tried to connect with Spike… she was already much too late to win him over.
He had soon found love with Gabby, one of the kindest, cutest, most caring griffin in Equestria and they're still quite happy to be together. However, seeing them so happy still breaks her heart just thinking about it and made her scold herself with how unfair she was with him. But at least she was happy that Spike was able to find someone else who would take his love for them seriously. Rarity sniffled and wiped the tears out of her eyes and kept cooking up her pasta, tossing aside her feelings for now.
She didn’t want to constantly remember her past mistakes which cost her a chance to find love. It would only just lead to more heartache and cloud her chances even further. Soon, she finished cooking and served herself a portion of her dinner, bringing it to the table. As she sets the plate down and sat onto her chair, she sat there silently staring at her dish while staring at the other chair across from the table.
"One of these days. One of these days. Somewhere, I know he's out there, waiting for me. This time, I will not make the same mistake I did with Spike. I'll try to be as considerate and kind and generous as I can be and find my true prince charming, even if it's not an actual prince," Rarity encouraged herself. Now that she was self-motivated and stopped moping around about it, she reached for her fork and knife and began eating her meal, while taking a few sips of her delicious wine. "Ah, delicious as ever."
The next day, it was 3:30 and Rarity had arrived at Canterlot with her friends at Celestia's castle. Rarity was in one of the dressing rooms, helping Spitfire put on her wedding dress. "Spitfire, you look simply lovely. Soarin is going to love it. How are you feeling, deary?" she asked.
Spitfire was known for her daredevil and commanding personality in the Wonderbolts, but today she had an anxious expression on her face and took slow deep breaths. “Oh, I’m good. I mean it’s not like this only gonna happen once in my whole lifetime, hehe. I can handle commanding a bunch of my Wonderbolt underlings, what's so different about getting married to my stallion?” She replied nervously. Rarity didn't need a PHD to know Spitfire is feeling the pressure intensely right now. Precisely why Rarity decided to give her a relaxing massage to calm her nerves a little bit.
"It's okay to feel nervous, Spitfire. Believe it or not, this is exactly how Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer felt during their wedding day. You should've seen how Twilight was, burying her face in a book she brought with her on her wedding day. And one on how to conquer first-wedding jitters no less," Rarity giggled.
Spitfire chuckles as well, feeling cheered up by Rarity’s statement. “Seriously? There's a book that tells you how to get rid of first-wedding jitters? And she brought one with her? Oh, wow, she must've had it way worse than my first-wedding jitters.” She replied. “But I guess, the more I think about it, it’s pretty reassuring that even princesses can get nervous on the most important day of their lives. Thanks, Rarity. I really needed a little something to break the ice, I'm much more relaxed now.”
After having been cheered up by Rarity, Spitfire was now feeling calmer and more excited. Both mares shared a kind, warm hug with each other one last time.
"I'm pleased you feel better, Spitfire. And remember one thing: No matter how bad things get, never lose sight of what's truly important to you. Soarin loves you and will do anything to keep his soon-to-be wife happy, even at his own expense. He chose you for a reason and wouldn't have it any other way. Trust me… I've learned from that failure countless times when I was looking for true love," Rarity said.
“Noted. And don’t give up hope, Rarity. And you remember what I said yesterday, maybe you’ll find your soulmate here at the wedding.” Spitfire assured her.
"That would be a romantic way to meet somepony," Rarity said before checking the clock. "Oop, it's almost time for the big ceremony to start. Good luck, Spitfire." She then gives the Wonderbolts captain a hug before leaving her to some alone time before it's time for the bride to come out. Rarity arrives at the altar with a couple of other bridesmaids, all were members of the Wonderbolts. Behind her was Fleetfoot, Rainbow Dash, and Vapor Trail, 3 of the best Wonderbolts in the academy.
"How's the captain? Did you calm her down, Rares?" Rainbow asked. Rainbow has held a great deal of loyalty to Spitfire even if she was a bit harsh on her during her first visit. But then again, it's a drill instructor's job to push a new recruit beyond their limits.
"She's calmed down now. No need to worry, Rainbow. I told her a funny story about how Twilight tried to calm down when the poor dear brought a book with her to her wedding day. Spitfire got a pretty good laugh out of it, so you have nothing to worry about," Rarity replied. Rainbow laughed a bit, then tapped Rarity on the shoulder, giving her a thumbs up. She trusted her wholeheartedly. Her captain was right to pick her to be her best mare, though she wished she could've been with her to see it.
"That's good to know. I'm stoked to see how she looks in her dress. Any kind of dress or suit made by you is a masterpiece in itself, Rares," Rainbow complimented.
"Why thank you, darling," Rarity replied happily. She scanned the entire area around her. Ponies and other creatures were seated, the red carpet wrinkle-free and ready for the bride to walk down and best of all… her husband-to-be was patiently waiting for said bride. Standing beside Soarin was probably his best stallion, though Rarity never saw him before in her life. When her eyes locked on the stallion, she blinked, unsure what it is about this stallion, but he made her heart skip a beat.
He had Orange fur similar to Spitfire's eye color but had a pink mane and charming blue eyes that sparkled like sapphires just like her own. At that moment, that same stallion looked in her direction, blushing slightly, probably taken aback by her beauty and grace.
But before they could figure it out, the organ played, signaling everyone to look down the aisle as Spitfire came walking down it with her father holding her arm. He looked ready to burst into tears that his own daughter was being given away. Rarity thought it was sweet about how much he cared for Spitfire. Once she stopped face-to-face with Soarin, Princess Celestia started her speech. Going on about blessing the couple in the very next step of their lives and to not take it lightly.
However, Rarity's mind wandered back towards the stallion standing next to Soarin. Surprisingly, the stallion stared back at her, both were astonished at each other. Rarity didn't know what it was about this stallion that caught her eye, but she found him quite charming.
Maybe she's once again fallen for the ole’ "Love at first sight" bit. If so, it looks like the stallion is thinking the same thing as she is. So, after Spitfire and Soarin said their "I do's," Celestia officially pronounced them husband and wife as they put their rings on each other's fingers and completed the ceremony with Soarin moving Spitfire's wedding veil and kissing her. The crowd erupted into a cheering frenzy. The newly-wedded couple held the kiss for a few seconds before pulling away, staring at each other lovingly. Spitfire was the happiest mare alive to know she finally found her mate and same goes for Soarin.
Rarity snapped out of her trance when the crowd cheered. In the midst of all the noise and excitement, Spitfire tossed her bouquet at the bridesmaids. Rarity instantly caught it in her hand as Soarin carried off his brand new wife off in his arms.
"I… don't believe we've met, good stallion. I… I'm Rarity.” She said while bringing her hand up towards him for a handshake, which he gladly accepted. Rarity had seen many charming-looking stallions before, but never met one who had such a charming personality. And sometimes, when she did, they'd already be taken, like Fancy Pants with Fleur De Lis, whom are married and have children.
"Hi… I'm Orange Sky. I'm… Spitfire's brother," he replied, surprising Rarity. "Sorry for staring at you for so long, I've never met such a beautiful mare like you."
Rarity was already blushing. "It's no trouble at all. I'm flattered you think I'm beautiful. But... I never knew Spitfire actually had a brother. Or better yet, a... a handsome one at that." she was getting flustered the more she talked with him while staring at him. Same could be said for Orange Sky. It felt like the he looked into Rarity's lovely sapphire eyes, the more his heart skipped a beat. There's no doubt about it, Rarity and Orange Sky have offically fallen in love at first sight.
"S-So, umm... Rarity, if you'd like, would you like to come to the Gala and dance?" Orange asked. Rarity's mind was racing a thousand miles right now. This stallion just asked her to dance. Perhaps she has finally found romance after all and now she's gonna make sure it doesn't go to waste.
"I would love to," Rarity replied. And so, Orange Sky takes the lovele alabastor goddess by the hand and follow the crowd out of the alter. Meanwhile, Rarity's friends have taken notice of their marshmallow friend's affections towards her new possible love interest. Everyone was happy to know she's given another chance at love and with a charming young stallion no less. Even Spike was proud, knowing his ex-crush was finally happy to be with someone she might spend the rest of her life with.
Moments later, everyone was gathered at the Gala. Some ponies were either seated and having dinner or standing by the food table, chattering up a storm.
Rarity was sitting at a table with Orange Sky, both having a scrumptious dinner. "So, Orange, why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself? Since you're Spitfire's brother, does that mean you're a Wonderbolt yourself, or is there some other career out there that you'd like to pursue?" she asked. Orange waited until he had gulped down his bite of food, showing some manners.
"Nah, I prefer to do a show on my own. If I joined the Wonderbolts, I'd have to be hounded at by my sister, which can get a little annoying. Don't get me wrong, I love my big sister, but it's just so annoying to have to deal with her bossy attitude," Orange said.
Rarity was astounded. It's no surprise that even a stallion his age would have a bit of a sibling dispute with his older sister, but that's just how life is. She can certainly relate in a way. Back when Sweetie Belle was just a fluffy ball of cuteness, she'd constantly burn any food, even burned toast into a liquid state. Seriously, how can a cute little marshmallow filly turn toast into a liquid? Either way, she still loves her sister and wouldn't trade her for anything in this whole entire world.
"So you do shows on your own, how has that worked out for you, Orange?" she asked.
"It's gone good mostly. But there were times when I crashed and injured myself," he chuckles. "And that's when I'm trying to come up with new flying moves on the spot during one of my shows. Believe me, it's not pretty when you crash and burn, but it's still worth making everyone happy. But even though I make constant visits to the hospital, I'm still just as healthy as an ox!" Orange tapped his fist lightly against his chest where his heart was, explaining his very dangerous career. "But enough about me, why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself, what do you do most of the time, Rarity?"
Rarity certainly picked a winner for sure. She's gonna have to thank Spitfire for inviting her here and helping her find such a loving stallion.
"I'm glad you asked. You see, darling, I'm a fashionista with a promising job at Carousel Boutique. It used to be me and my sister, Sweetie Belle, but ever since she grew up, she moved out of my house to move in with her boyfriend and start her own life. There was also this kind and gentle dragon who would volunteer to come and help me with my work, but he's stopped as well because he found someone else. But let's not jump to conclusions, for I'm the one to blame for all that," Rarity said.
"Why do you say that? Did you reject this dragon?" Orange asked.
"Sort of. you see, he had a bit of a crush on me when he was just a baby dragon, back when he first came to Ponyville with Twilight Sparkle years ago. His name is Spike. I thought the little darling was so precious and couldn't get over how cute he was, always wanting to spend time with me. But I brushed it off as a simple child crush he'd grow out of over time, but he kept on pursuing me, thinking I was the only mare in his life that meant so much to him in his life... and I didn't take him seriously for so long. By the time I realized how much I needed him in my life, I was too late and he had found love with someone else."
"I see. Who was it that he got together with, Rarity?"
"Her name... is Gabby. She's a griffin and a very kind one at that. She's the kind of girl you would want to have picnics with on a weekly basis. The kind of girl almost any male creature would lay down their life for and the kind of girl who... actually genuinely cares about how others feel. Quite frankly, I'm ashamed of myself for turning him away, but... at least he's happy and if he's happy, I'm happy," Rarity said with a sad smile.
"I know that feeling all too well. Truth be told, I was never popular with the mares. I mean, yeah, I get lots of praise and attention for all my solo shows, but I never went out on dates with anyone. But now it feels like that doesn't matter once I met you."
"Aww, you're such a flatterer. I don't see why any mare would not want to date you. I mean, look at you, you're a stunningly handsome stallion, so adventurous, so dynamic, it's breathtaking," Rarity praised. "But then again, I'm honored to be your first date, deary. And no matter what anyone else says, I can tell you're a good stallion at heart, I don't care if you're not royalty at all." Orange was flattered himself by Rarity's kind words.

Just then, the band began to play a blissful, harmonic tune. Rarity and Orange Sky saw a bunch of ponies pairing up into groups of two. Orange looked back at Rarity, got up from his chair, then walked over to her, extending his hand to her. "Would you like to dance, Rarity?" he asked. Rarity's eyes lit up brighter than the stars of Luna's night sky as she smile at the stallion in front of her. She gladly gave him her hand and stood.
"It would be my honor, my dear Orange Sky," she accepted. She and Orange took to the dance floor and held each other as they joined the crowd, dancing slowly to the beat of the music. Rarity was loving every second of this dance, but who she was really loving was the stallion in front of her.
Orange couldn't stop admiring Rarity's charm and beauty. For Orange to stumble upon such a beautiful and cute mare such as Rarity feels like a once in a lifetime thing. Even though they just met, Orange didn't want to let go of this precious, pretty mare and wanted to hold her dear. Orange gave Rarity the dance of a lifetime, twirling her gracefully throughout the entire dance floor. She felt light as a feather through it all. The fashionista could tell he's an accomplished dancer as well as an amazing flyer. What these two didn't know was that crowds were checking them out, including Spitfire and Soarin, the real guests of honor.
Though they didn't know, they didn't care. They were in the spotlight and used it well. They danced and danced, Orange soon lifted Rarity up in the air by her waist and span around elegantly for a few brief second before bringing her back down and holding her in his arm. Rarity and Orange finished their dance and soon received applause from everyone at the gala.
Rarity and Orange blinked in surprise and just now realized they were the center of attention. Orange and Rarity took a bow, blushing deeply before heading back to their seats. The music continued on and soon, the married couple had the spotlight on them this time. "You were... marvelous, Orange Sky. Tell me, where did you learn to dance so wonderfully?" Rarity asked.
"My mom, Stormy Flare taught me. I taught it to Spitfire at one time a few months ago. Truth be told, she was a terrible dancer before I taught her. I mean, she can freestyle pretty good, but I had to teach her how to dance like how we just did when Soarin proposed to her," Orange said.
"Is that right?" Rarity asked in surprise. "I guess it makes sense. But now, look at her." she pointed. Orange looked as his sister danced the night away with her new husband. "Not even tripping on her own hooves or overthinking things for that matter, she's just..." Rarity was unable to find the right words to describe how perfect this setting was and how romantic it felt to see her like this. "Orange, you're lucky to have such a wonderful sister by your side, as am I to have my little sister."
"Yeah. She can be a bit of a pain, but I love her," Orange said. "You know, Rarity, you're a pretty amazing mare, I don't see why you don't have a boyfriend yet. But, if you'd like... maybe we could... I don't know, go out with me... y-you know, like on a date." he blushed.
"M-Me? Go out with you? Really?" she blushed deeply from his offer. At that moment, Rarity felt like her world was flipped upside down and soon, before she knew it, she lunged at Orange Sky with a big hug, nuzzling into his suit-covered chest. "I would love to go out with you! Darling, I thought you'd never ask!" Rarity exclaimed with glee, keeping her arms wrapped around him. Orange felt happy now that he had someone. He then put his hand under her chin, made Rarity look up and then he kissed her.
Rarity's world was flipped upside down, her body twitched in excitement. She slowly sank into the moment and kissed her brand you lover back, wrapping her arms around his neck. She might be moving a little too fast, but then again, they did fall in love at first sight.
After sharing their first kiss, they separated to gaze into each other's eyes. "Wow... you're an amazing kisser, Rarity and with such elegance and grace. Now I know I made the right choice," Orange said, making the fashionista giggle, blushing a bit. The young stallion's praises made her feel so happy deep down, she couldn't even contain her happiness right now. Orange scooted over towards Rarity, sitting right by her side, never wanting to leave her or give the lovely lady up. "Orange, you're quite the gentleman."
"Thank you. Maybe after the wedding is over, I can take you home. Would you like that? I'll pay for the tickets, keep you company on the train and walk you back to your house."
"You would do that for little old me?" Rarity asked. Orange nodded. "You're very kind, Orange. I would love that very much, thank you." Having accepted his offer, she gave her boyfriend one more kiss on the cheek, making him blush a little bit. "Darling, you're absolutely adorable."
"I can't help it, you kissed me, you cutie pie," he complimented, light pinching her cheeks. Rarity let out a cute giggle, then a cute squee. She was the happiest mare alive.
Soon, after the wedding had ended and having eaten their fill, Orange Sky and Rarity left for the train station and Orange paid for the tickets as promised. When the train finally came to its destination, Orange allowed Rarity to go in first just to be a gentleman. Orange went in afterwards and sat down right next to his beautiful, posh, pretty diamond pony. Rarity nuzzled into her new boyfriend, leaning in and snuggling him. No sooner after she did, her friends all boarded the train with her. Rarity and Orange took their seats over by the front end of the passenger cart and the others sat in the middle area or in the rear.
The train waited for anymore passengers to board, until finally. "ALL ABOARD!!!" the conductor shouted before closing the doors and the train sounded the horn. Pretty soon, the train began to pull slowly out of the station and onward to its first stop of the night.
As the train began to pick up speed, Rarity noticed her friends all making themselves comfortable with each other, getting a little rest before they arrive home. Twilight rested on Sunset's shoulder while the bacon-maned mare rested against the window while holding her egghead wife close. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy did exactly the same thing, with Fluttershy resting on Dashie's shoulder. Pinkie, on the other hand, rested on Cheese Sandwich's lap while her husband stroked her cute cheeks. Rara completely wiped out and rested on AJ's lap, letting AJ stroke her beautiful mane as she laid there.
Finally, Spike and Gabby were cuddling with each other. Their wings wrapped together and their cheeks touching, it was just too adorable for anyone to bear. At first, before all this, Rarity's broken heart would've snapped even more, but now she feels nothing but happiness for everyone.
And the remarkably marvelous gem pony has never been happier about herself as well. Giving a yawn, she leans into her boyfriend and rests her head on him. "You don't mind, do you?" she asked, batting her eyes at him, looking so cute for the lucky stallion. Orange responded by snuggling his fashionista marefriend close to him, making her giggle and nuzzle into his shoulder some more. "Thank you, darling." She sighed happily. Orange Sky chuckled at his marefriend's adorableness.
However, as they were making themselves comfortable, Rarity's friends couldn't help but notice how cute they looked right now, but didn't say anything. They felt it'd be rude to ruin the moment. So, like any good friends would do out of respect, they enjoyed the mood themselves.
It's been a long night for everyone, though it was very fun. Not only did a happy couple leave as husband and wife, another one was able to leave as boyfriend and girlfriend. Rarity's friends were glad to know Rarity finally found her knight in shining armor. As everyone was sitting silently while the train chugged along the tracks, Princess Luna's beautiful night became more dazzling as the moon shined its brightest amidst the night sky, its rays of light beaming down on Rarity and Orange Sky. Perhaps this was one of Princess Luna's proud ways of saying "congratulations on love at first sight."
"Princess Luna's night sky is beautiful, wouldn't you agree, darling?" Rarity asked softly.
"Sure is, but the night's beauty cannot compare to you, Rares," Orange replied. Rarity was flattered by his compliment and nuzzled him some more. Orange pecked her on her forehead. She kissed him back on the lips before making herself comfy. Orange can still recall how his big sister told him just how proud of him she was and told him to take good care of Rarity. Since she's his first girlfriend, he was going to be extra careful and make double sure she was happy with him.
"Orange, can I tell you a secret, darling?" Rarity asked. Orange nodded. "Don't take this the wrong way, but... I wanted to take a chance when I first met you. But... I hesitated at first, because I wasn't sure of what kind of stallion you were, but... within that moment, I remembered how all of my friends had their special someponies and... when you asked me to go out... I felt relieved."
"Is that so? Gee, I can totally understand where you're coming from. Most of the friends I have were already dating some ponies while I felt like I was being left in the dust. Then, when I saw you at my sister's wedding, I just felt like... you were the one for me. True, I've got a rep and lots of fans, but no one really saw me as a... romantic individual, which kinda brought me down a little. So, after we walked, I feel like I was starting to connect with you and that dance got me more motivated to ask you, too. And when you agreed to go out with me, I felt like a huge stone just fell off my heart. I guess love at first sight does exist." he explained.
"Yes... and for the first time for both of us... it truly happened," Rarity replied, nuzzling him more. Orange used his wings as a blanket while kissing her on the forehead.
Little did they know, some of Rarity's friends overheard their conversation. And they all felt bad about all the times she never got to find her true love. Almost every wedding she's been to, she'd catch the bouquet, yet her turn for marriage to her dream stallion never came to be. It's as if fate was just spitting her in the face, saying she could never truly be happy. But this time... fate was smacked right back, tenfold and now she has someone who's gonna try and be by her side. And she deserves it. She's been alone for so long, so many chances at love, so many disappointments, heartaches, empty tissue boxes... and ice cream tubs.
Speaking of which, Rarity still managed to keep her figure, even when she's stress-eating or depressed-eating ice cream, but that's besides the point. The real point... is that she's happy now and now that she's happy, her friends are happy, too.
Moments later, after the train came to a complete stop at the Ponyville Train Station, the doors opened up and some of the passengers got out, Orange Sky walked out with a cute, sleeping Rarity all snuggled up in his arms, holding him in her sleep and making cute sighing sounds. Orange was gonna have a tough time finding her house since she's out cold and it'd be a crime to awaken a sleeping beauty when she's so tuckered out and enjoying her beauty sleep, so he doesn't wake her, just like a gentleman.
Suddenly, he's approached by the Princess of Friendship herself. "If you want, I can take you to Rarity's house and save you the trouble," Twilight offered.
"Sure, I'd like that," Orange accepted gratefully. Twilight then guides Orange off into the town, too tired to fly thanks to the party he and Rarity enjoyed. "Maybe one of these days, I should consider moving here into Ponyville when the time is right, giving me more time to spend with this precious jewel." He gestures to Rarity, still sleeping happily in his arms bridal style.
"Rarity would like that. By the way, thanks for showing her a good time, uh..." Twilight paused, forgetting that she didn't ask for his name.
"Orange. Orange Sky. And it was my pleasure. You know, I don't see why a beautiful unicorn such as Rarity could be single for so long. I mean, surely she would've found somepony who would've... y-you get what I'm trying to say, princess?" he asks, feeling uncertain.
"Sure and no need to call me "Princess." Just call me, "Twilight." As for Rarity, she's beautiful, but she never had the best luck with stallions before you. She felt even worse when my friends and I were getting married one by one while she was... all alone," Twilight said.
"Yeah... she told me that part of the reason she got with me was because she didn't want to be alone anymore and... I really don't blame her. I used to feel exactly like her. I do my own shows and get lots of praise, sure, but my love life was nothing but one big pipe dream. So... meeting Rarity back at Spitfire's wedding felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to try and at least... make friends with her. But I ended up jumping the gun and asked her straight out after that dance we had. She's my first real girlfriend and I don't wanna do anything to upset Rarity or even make her feel bad about herself," he said.
"You sound like you really love her. Well, I guess the power of love at first sight will do that to you. It's not an exact science, but then again... love isn't supposed to make sense. I guess in a way, when two people are in love with each other... then everything makes sense to them," Twilight said, speaking from her own experience when she fell in love with Sunset.
Soon, after their little talk, Twilight stopped and pointed at Rarity's house. She led him to the entrance of her shop and then tapped her on the head, waking her up. She looked up and noticed Orange's handsome, gentle smile and blushed, smiling back at the young man. She then looked over to her friend, Twilight and sat up with Orange's help thanks to his strength. "Twilight, something I can help you with?" Rarity asked, her eyes half-lidded, still tired and ready to go to bed.
"Just helping Orange here. He didn't want to wake you up, so I helped him take you back home. He's a really good stallion at heart, Rarity. I'm really happy for you," Twilight said.
"Thank you, Twilight. Orange, could you be a dear and put me down?" Rarity asks politely. Orange does so without a word, setting her down gently. "Thank you. And Twilight, thanks for helping Orange. Have a good night, Twilight deary and say hello to Sunset for me." Rarity and Twilight give each other a friendly hug before Twilight flew off into the sky before teleporting out of sight. Now that the two were along, Rarity got out her key from her purse and unlocked the door to Carousel Boutique. She looks over at Orange and hugs him, making him hug her back, then finishing off with a kiss.
"Goodnight, Rarity," Orange said softly.
"Goodnight, Orange. And thank you for a splendid evening... and for making me feel special. Have a safe trip back home and... be sure to tell your sister, Spitfire I said... "thank you for inviting me."
"You got it. See ya, Rarity."
And so, with their goodbyes finally said and a splendid, romantic, magical evening spent together, Orange Sky took to the skies and headed for his home back in Cloudsdale. Rarity went inside her shop and locked up, yawning after a long and very eventful evening. She went upstairs to her room and gathered some stuff for a nice, warm, relaxing shower before heading off to bed.
She grabbed her stuff and headed off into the bathroom. There, she undressed herself and looked at herself in the mirror, admiring her physique. Her fabulous, hourglass-shaped body, perfect, curly mane, sparkling sapphire eyes, her soft, firm GG-cup breasts.
Rarity blushed a bit at how big her girls have gotten. All that ice cream she depressed-ate really filled her out in all the right places indeed. She divided her attention away from her flawless body and towards the shower, which she turned on, then climbed in once it was warm. "Ahhh, this feels lovely," she sighs. This alabastor unicorn beauty proceeds to wash her body, having her eyes closed. But as she's doing this, her mind drifts off back to the events of the party, visualizing Orange Sky's charming, handsome face. In her mind, she began to undress him, admiring his athletically built physique.
She never him naked before, but the thought of seeing him just... turned her own. Her hands traveled all across her wet body, feeling up her own breasts, even her wet vulva. No sooner after that, the dirty thoughts started pouring in big time.
The daydreaming jewel visualized herself being taken by her prince of the skies. She let out soft moans, her breath visible, but kept her eyes closed. Rarity kept touching herself, fingering her marehood until when she finally opened her eyes, she stopped, snapping back into reality. "Goodness me! Get a hold of yourself, Rarity, you're not at THAT stage with Orange, just yet, these things take time!" she told herself. That didn't take away the redness from her cheeks, however, so yeah.
Not wanting to get all shriveled up like a prune or give into her dirty thoughts, Rarity finished up washing her body, then turned off the shower before getting out. She tried herself off within 20 minutes and then dressed herself up in her comfy sleeping clothes.
She exited the bathroom and sighs, still keeping a towel over her head and looked out her window, admiring the view of Luna's beautiful night. Yup, tonight was a magical night indeed. "And thank you, Luna, for making the night extra special for me and Orange. The night truly was... and always will be... beautiful." Knowing Princess Luna could hear what she said, Luna was pleased to know that Rarity showed gratitude to her. Soon, after Rarity felt another yawn being let out, she takes off the towel and hangs it up on a wrack hanging on the door before climbing into bed, tucking herself in her neatly-folded sheets.
Rarity lights up her horn and uses her magic to turn off all the lights. Rarity nuzzles into her pillow and lets her eyes slowly close up, finally getting the beauty sleep she needs.
In her dream world, she's sitting on a table in a red, sparkling dress, looking out the window from inside an empty ballroom and admiring the stars. Just then, Princess Luna shows up. "Rarity, thou seem to be in good spirits tonights, I take it things went well for thou at lady Spitfire's and sit Soarin's wedding? I overheard thy gratitude from within the dream realm and am happy to have helped thou," Luna said in her royal tongue.
"Oh yes, they went marvelously," Rarity sighed, dreamily. "Princess Luna, Orange Sky has truly touched my heart in so many ways I cannot imagine. I know we've only just met, but I just can't stop thinking about just how splendid and chivalrous he can be."
"Yes, love is truly a powerful force indeed. Since you seem to be enjoying yourself, I'll leave thou to thy freetime and in the meantime, I must attend to my other subjects. May fortune and happiness smile upon though for years to come, Rarity," Luna said before disappearing out of view. Rarity continued to stare out the window, then felt herself being lifted into the air and fly out the window, feeling weightless... and free. She reached her hand up to the moon, imagining Orange's face right there.
As flew closer... the light from Luna's beautiful moon shined brighter than ever before.
