Spike sighed happily as Rarity was leaving for the night. Four of Twilight's friends decided to spend some time with Spike. Thinking he could use some company with Twilight being gone, and with Trixie back on the road. Some of them left early, they had jobs to go back to. Spike wanting to spend more time with Rarity started talking about fashion. And once Rarity began to talk about fashion, she tended to talk a lot about it. Just like that, they both lost track of time.
Spike offered to escort her home because it was late. But Rarity insisted she could take care of herself. Spike watched Rarity go and was just about to close the door when for a second he saw something blue follow Rarity. Spike gasped and followed after. The blue blur knew what it was doing, sneaking in the bushes while remaining unnoticed. The blur looked as if they were following Rarity. Spike immediately hid, thankfully he was small so it was easier for him to hide. Spike then realized it was Trixie following Rarity.
Spike was dumbfounded, he started to wonder Trixie? Wasn't she supposed to be on the road?
What was she doing here?
Why is she following Rarity
Spike followed after and was too far away from Rarity .. It was too dark to see where Rarity was going.
Trixie then stopped and gasped but since Spike was too far, he could not see what Trixie gasped at. So it completely took him by surprise when she fired off a spell at Rarity. Spike gasped and rage filled him it looked like it missed her. But what would have happened if it hit Rarity?
Trixie looked angry at Rarity ready to charge at her.
How could she! After Rarity took care of her?
Why is she attacking Rarity?
He balled his claws in a fist and was mad he shouted "Trixie !" going right in front of her.
Trixie then pleaded "Please listen to me"
'Listen to you? After what you did?! ' thought Spike the fury getting to him. This was Rarity, she meant a lot to him
"Come with me I love..." Trixie said
Spike reached a boiling point "I wish I never rescued you" he said through his teeth,
Spike saw Trixie widen her eyes, tears falling down her face.
Trixie lowered her head toward the ground, walking away from them looking wholly devastated.
Rarity let out a breath, she did not know she was holding. Trixie just attacked her lover. What would happen if Spike was not there?
Seeing Trixie leave, the snoring of Rarity's lover brought her back to reality.
Rarity then realized that Trixie had only cast a sleep spell on her lover, she never intended to harm him.
Trixie was after Rarity, but she could not understand why
Rarity looked at Spike who was laser-focused on watching Trixie leave.
She then looked at her lover, there were two options here; tell Spike the truth here and now or hide it.
Rarity tried to mull over both options. However not as long as she would have liked.
Spike interrupted her by saying "Are you ok Rarity?"
Tell him
Hide it
In a panic, she chose poorly
"Oh yes, I'm fine, EVERYTHING IS FINE" Rarity dramatically said
A fake laugh came from Rarity it was pretty obvious that she was lying. Rarity pushed Spike towards his home. Talking rapidly making excuse after excuse.
" Everything is fine darling, I'm fine, don't worry you get your rest, I need my beauty sleep..."
Rarity let out a fake yawn
"What a night this has been. Anyway good night Spike"
Rarity then hurriedly closed the door.
Rarity dashed to her asleep lover and let a sigh "Now what do I do with you?" She said out loud
' I can't leave you here, but I can't take you home either no pony knows about our relationship'
Ohhh if only I knew how to reverse a sleep spell
"IDEA!"
Rarity with great effort moved him to the Hay and Stay hotel door and knocked on the door, putting a few bits and putting a note saying 'one night please.'
Rarity huffed with relief as she made it home, but mysteries about Trixie's attack still haunted her. Why did she attack? She thought back to her interactions with Trixie. While Trixie was healing she helped to groom her coat and style her mane. Rarity admitted it did not help cover the scars she got from the Chimera.
Trixie worked for her to earn extra bits. However, when Rarity asked her about why she needed it. Trixie refused to tell her.
But now Rarity thought about when she was around Trixie there was a slight bitherness to it. As if Trixie forced herself to get along with her.
This just did not make any sense to her.
Rarity decided to just put it off for tomorrow
Rarity did try to put it off but kept bothering her. She couldn't even relax doing her spa day with Fluttershy.
"Rarity are you alright? Spike told me that you were attacked by Trixie" said Fluttershy
"Yes daring, I don't understand why" said Rarity. Rarity noticed a guilty look from Fluttershy
"What, why do you look like that?"
Fluttershy sighed and said "I... I may know why. I was keeping it to myself. Maybe if I said something...how was I suppose to know that Trixie would resort to attacking you because of..."
"Fluttershy what in Equestria are you talking about ?"
"Trixie fell in love with Spike"
Rarity's eyes widen at the revelation
"What?! No, really!? Wait how do you know that Fluttershy?"
"I..uh..I saw them dancing together and.. I might have pushed a bit by asking birds to sing for them"
"Why didn't you say anything before"
"Well, because I thought maybe Trixie should tell Spike that herself. I knew Spike has a long-standing crush on you Rarity. So a part of me knew Trixie wouldn't win Spike's heart. I don't want to say anything because I was afraid Trixie would get hurt"
"Oh no, now it makes sense, the jealousy, the attack. Oh What have I done?"
