Kamen Rider Shifter
Movie 1: Part 7
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe citizens of Canterlot were amazed, when the red dome keeping them trapped finally disappeared.
This was likely thanks to whatever that rainbow of light was, which flew to the area of the city where the giant monster was waiting. Moments after it happened, a shockwave of some kind had spread out across the city and destroyed the dome. Now the people were free to escape. But many believed they didn't need to.
At the battle site, Shifter and E-Quest were still glowing with the Equestrian Magic that they had been given.
They had just performed a Dual Rider Kick, which had destroyed the Infinigem and blasted Hydia backwards onto another rooftop. The witch groaned, whilst the Riders saw the energy that she had been feeding the Elemental was slowly weakening.
"We did it," Shifter cheered. "We destroyed the Infinigem."
E-Quest nodded. "We didn't just destroy it. We completely atomised it." A small part of him was worried about the shockwave that had been unleashed from the destruction, remembering what Flash had told him about what happened to Equestrian Magic in this world. "Hopefully, it won't cause any problems like it did when Sunset brought it here."
Shifter turned towards the area where the Elemental had appeared. The spot he knew the Rainbooms had been held.
"Shining," he wondered how his fellow Rider was doing. With the Infinigem destroyed, Reeka and Draggle's power should have been weakened. Hopefully, it meant Morphic and Dragus would have an easier time.
And sure enough, that's exactly what was happening.
As Morphic and Dragus fought to keep the witches away from the warehouse and the Rainbooms, Reeka and Draggle found their power suddenly beginning to drain. "What's happening!?" Draggle cried, as she suddenly felt very lethargic.
Reeka stared at her staff and saw that the rune connecting her to the Infinigem, was beginning to fade away. "Impossible. Don't tell me they found a way to destroy the Infinigem!" Morphic and Dragus heard this, both smirking as they realised the tide of the battle had just changed.
"Ready to give up?" Dragus asked, channelling energy into his staff.
"Not happening," Reeka cried. "Doesn't matter if the Infinigem was destroyed. We can still destroy you!" She thrust her staff forward and unleashed a burst of lightning, but Dragus swung his staff around and fired a stream of flames to counter the attack.
Morphic then punched the air, sending several lasers flying towards the sisters.
Draggle tried to put up a shield, but her magic was so weak the barrier didn't survive the first laser. As such, the two found themselves getting blasted and sent backwards. Both cried out, as they hit the ground and looked like they didn't appreciate the injuries they had just sustained.
The Riders smirked under their helmets, as they charged forward. They didn't like to kick a mule whilst it was down, but these two were much too dangerous to let recover.
As such, when Reeka pushed herself up, Morphic leapt into the air and dealt a kick to her chest. Dragus then reached Draggle and swept her legs with his own, causing her to flip into the air. But before she could hit the ground, Dragus spun around and swung his sceptre up to strike her in the back.
This sent her flying upwards and Dragus summoned his wings to fly up above her, as his foot ignited and he slammed it down into her stomach as she flew into him. She screamed, as she was propelled down to the ground. At the same time, Morphic slammed his fist into the ground and sent his lasers into it.
Reeka was still recovering from the last hit and as she picked herself up, the energy flowed beneath her before exploding.
She was thrown into the air and ended up crashing into her sister, the pair tumbling around until they slammed into the ground. Both moaned, as their bodies sparked and showed how much damage they had taken. At the same time, Dragus landed next to Morphic and the Mimic Rider turned to him. "Let's end this!" Dragus nodded before the pair hit their Drivers.
"CLIMATIC TRI-HORN!"
"DRAGON LORD POWER! OVERDRIVE!"
As the power in their rose, the Riders struck a pose. "Feel the full force of my justice!"
"My flames of pride are gonna burn you!"
Reeka and Draggle saw the pair preparing for their final strikes. And neither had the energy to get up and escape. But then, Reeka felt something in her staff. A small shred of power, left from the Infinigem's boost. It wasn't much, but it might be enough.
"Draggle!" She raised her staff, "combine power." Draggle didn't understand, but nodded before the two crossed their staffs. As they did, Morphic launched a trio of energy horns towards them. The golden sections Dragus' armor also flew off and formed the dragons, which also flew at the pair.
The two united their powers and combined the space and time magic, Reeka concentrating it all on herself. "What are you doing?" Draggle asked, as the attacks flew towards them.
"I'll save you," Reeka stated. "I'll find a way!" With that, Reeka suddenly vanished in a flash of light. Draggle's eyes widened in horror, as the energy horns all stabbed into her.
"AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHH!" The pain of their impact was horrible, as the energy dragons cut and bit at her.
Those dragons then flew back towards Dragus, as he and Morphic ran towards her. The dragons then flowed into Dragus' right boot, as the two Riders leapt into the air and thrust their feet forward. Both slammed into the now merged energy spike, Dragus' energy flowing into it, pushing the impaler the rest of the way into Draggle's body and making her scream as it exploded.
Dragus and Morphic flipped backwards and landed, the two spinning around as Draggle fell to the ground and was consumed by the explosion.
The two Riders stood with their backs to the explosion, as the Rainbooms stepped out of the warehouse and saw that they had succeeded. They all smiled, whilst the two Riders looked ready to collapse from exhaustion. But they managed to stay up and turned to where the Elemental was, all of them wondering what the heck was happening over there.
Shifter and E-Quest saw the Elemental's energy finally give up.
Hydia had finally recovered and as she pushed herself up, she was suddenly overwhelmed by the little energy she had left. All of her magic had been drained from her and now, she barely had the strength to move. But she refused to let it end like this. "You...you cannot defeat me." She turned to the Riders, "this isn't over. I refuse to let it end like this."
"Give it up," E-Quest told her. "You can't expect to keep fighting. Not now that your ace in the hole is gone."
"I'll never give up. Not until all around me know what it means to suffer." She turned to the Elemental, "ATTACK! DESTROY THEM! RIP THEM TO PIECES!" But as the Elemental tried to move, part of its arm suddenly began to break apart. "What?"
"What's happening?" Shifter asked, as more cracks appeared on the giant's body.
"It's out of magic. Which means there's nothing keeping its body together. It's going to break apart." E-Quest watched as it tried to raise its arm. But as it did, more and more cracks appeared along it. And eventually, the whole thing broke off just before the elbow.
The Riders acted fast and leapt away, using the last of their Equestrian Magic boost to escape. Shifter leapt down to the street, whilst E-Quest flew into the air. He looked down and saw the arm crash onto the roof he had been on and part of the roof Hydia was on.
The witch screamed, as she tried to escape. But her magic was too drained to save her.
E-Quest wasn't sure whether he should save her or not, knowing how much danger she would be if she regained her magic later. But as the Elemental's legs began to break apart, he realised he had duty to save anyone in need. Even his enemies.
But as he flew down to try and save her, the Elemental shattered and it fell forward.
It smashed into the building, causing it to start to collapse with Hydia on top. The witch gasped and tried to escape, running towards the end of the roof as it fell. She tried to form a platform and jump onto it, but it disappeared the second she placed her weight on it.
She screamed, as she felt herself beginning to fall back towards the collapsing building.
E-Quest tried to fly down and save her. But before he could reach her, a wave of dust flew up and slammed into him. "AUGH!" He was pushed back, as he watched Hydia let out a scream.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" She screamed in terror before disappearing into the dust cloud, whilst the Elemental broke apart and covered the building as it fell apart. E-Quest could only watch as the massive pile of destruction formed.
Shifter also watched, both Riders realising that Hydia couldn't have survived that.
The witch of destruction was gone, hopefully never to be seen again. And if she was, the Riders would be ready to stop her if she ever caused problems again. But for now, the two let out a sigh of relief.
Hours passed and the city began to recover from the insanity that had occurred.
The police and rescue services quickly got into action, racing towards the area that had been destroyed in the battle. Fire fighters quickly got to work searching the destroyed buildings, trying to find anyone that might be trapped. But they found nothing. Nobody had been lost in the fight.
All that had been found in the wreckage, was a wooden staff that had been broken into multiple pieces and a shattered crystal next to it. But other than that, there was nothing.
The damage done to the city had been intense, but nothing it couldn't bounce back from.
Nobody knew exactly what had happened, but many guessed that the Kamen Riders had saved their city from utter destruction. Some prayed this was the work of the Mimics and the battle meant they had been defeated. But others realised this was way too different from the Mimics to be them.
Speaking of the Mimics. They had arrived as soon as the barrier locking them out of the city disappeared.
Frill, Maya, High and Greye were standing atop a building, looking over the destruction that had happened. But from what they could tell, the Riders had been victorious.
"So?" High turned to the others, "what do we do now?"
"The Riders are probably exhausted after their fight," Maya stated. "Now might be a good time to deal with them once and for all."
"No," Frill shook his head, "we still have much work to do on our end. Them being exhausted means they won't be able to get in our way." He turned away from the city, "let's not waste this time." The others nodded and followed suit, a portal opening up for them to step through.
Greye was the last one through and before he left, he glanced back at the city that he and his brethren had been trying to conquer. "Enjoy this victory whilst you can," he told the Riders. "I swear, it'll be your last." With that, he stepped through the portal and disappeared.
But as they left through the portal, another person stepped through one into the city.
The cloaked figure who went by the name Corvyn, also looked out at the city and wondered what had happened. "When I was cut off from watching and entering this world, I began to worry. But it looks like things turned out alright." The figure under the cloak hummed. "But things could have turned out worse. The Riders will need more allies if they are to continue to win. I need to find someone soon."
Inside the park, the Rainbooms and Riders were resting.
Shifter and Morphic, both back in their first Rider forms, were keeping themselves hidden in the trees whilst the others remained together. "Are you sure you're okay?" Twilight asked Burst, who was looking over his Driver and Alicorn Crest.
"I feel fine," he assured her. "Doesn't look like the magic you gave me did anything more than supercharge my attack." He turned to Shifter. "What about you? Your Driver doing okay?"
Shifter looked down at his Mimic Driver, which wasn't acting strange at all. "Yeah, mine seems fine. I think the magic just gave me a power boost as well. It probably gave me the power to counter the magical energy of the Infinigem, like how your magic allows you girls to stop the Equestrian Magic that's caused trouble in the past."
"I guess," Sunset nodded. "Just be careful. If your Driver starts acting funny, tell us so we can be ready if anything bad happens." Shifter nodded, as puppy Spike turned to his Rider counterpart.
"So does this mean you guys are heading back to your world?"
"Afraid so," Rider Spike nodded. "Hydia and her daughters might be gone, but there are other dangers that we need to defend our Equestria from. Besides," he turned to Morphic and Shifter, "you guys have some pretty good Riders looking after you." The others smiled, knowing he was right.
"Too bad ya'll have to leave so soon," Applejack sighed. "We only just met and barely got to spend any time together."
"Maybe," Burst nodded. "But that's alright. I mean, it's not like we won't see each other again. The future's unpredictable. There's no telling what might happen next. We might end up meeting again, some time in the future."
"I hope so," Rainbow smirked. "Let's just hope that the next time we meet, we don't have to fight a world ending threat." The others laughed, also hoping the same thing.
"And who knows," Burst shrugged. "There are versions of you guys in our Equestria. And you have your own version of Spike. Maybe there's another version of me somewhere in your world." The others thought about it, but doubted it. If Burst's mom was Celestia, this world's Burst would be their Celestia's son. And as far as they knew, their Celestia didn't have any children.
"Maybe," Twilight nodded. "But even if there is, that doesn't mean they can just replace you." They all nodded at this, as they chose that moment to give the leaving Riders a hug.
Spike and Twilight were the last to share a hug. And when they did, Spike whispered something into Twilight's ear. "I don't know if I should tell you this, but it might be important." Twilight raised an eyebrow at this, as Spike spoke up. "My Twilight was able to find something special and you can too. It's closer than you think." As he said this, his gaze happened to glance over at Shifter for a moment before he pulled away.
Twilight looked at him curiously, as Burst and Spike both summoned their bikes and got on without transforming.
Shifter and Morphic summoned their own bikes and after the two gave their new friends a wave goodbye, the four Riders began to drive off out of the park. The Rainbooms all waved goodbye until they were out of sight. The four continued through the city until they arrived at an area that was still abandoned.
Once they found a spot, they all pulled to a stop and the Mimic Riders removed their Mimicores from their Drivers.
Transforming back to human, they all smiled at one another as they looked down the empty street. "So," Flash stated, "this is it."
Burst nodded. "It was an honour, fighting with you guys. The one positive to this whole situation was that we got to meet each other." Shining and Flash agreed. This might have been an insane situation, but they were happy they got to meet Burst and Spike.
"You guys can do it," Spike stated. "Beat the Mimics, I mean. You'll have plenty of obstacles to face, but I know you guys can beat those freaks and keep your world safe."
"Thanks," Flash nodded. "And if you guys ever need help, you know where to find us."
"Same." Burst reached into his jacket and took something out before handing it to Flash. "Here." Flash took it and found it was the phone that Twilight and Sunset had fixed for them. "If you ever need us, all you gotta do is call."
"That'll come in handy," Shining nodded. They remembered that Reeka was still out there somewhere, having warped away. There was no telling where or when she would show up again. If she did show up, they would need to work together in order to defeat her.
Flash stared at the phone and realised that if it could travel to Burst's world, maybe it could travel to other worlds as well.
He remembered the conversation he had had with Burst the previous night, about all the different Kamen Riders that existed in the multiverse. Blade, Fourze, Drive and others. Could Flash maybe one day have the chance to meet these Riders in the future, now that he had the device that would allow him to do that?
"Well," Spike stated, "time to get back home." He took out his own phone and pressed several buttons on it before holding it up. A beam of light flew out of it and it flew down the street, eventually opening a portal at the very end of it. Considering how long the street was, that was pretty far to drive.
"Don't you wanna open it a bit closer?" Shining asked, with Spike smirking.
"I could." Spike placed his crest in his Driver. "Or we could have a bit of fun before we leave." Burst smirked, knowing what he was thinking and taking out his own crest. Flash and Shining both realised what he meant and a smile appeared on their lips as well.
"Drag race?" Shining asked, as he activated his Blitz Core and placed it in his Driver.
"You know it," Spike nodded. "What do you say? Can one of you two drive past the portal before Burst and I get through it?"
"Let's find out," Flash took out his Strike Core and placed it in his Driver. The four Riders struck a pose and all yelled out in unison. "HENSHIN!" In the blink of an eye, they were armored up and ready for the Rider Race of the century.
They revved their engines, as E-Quest picked up a stray soda can.
They all looked at each other and once they were ready, E-Quest threw the can upwards and they waited. Time seemed to slow down, as the can span through the air and eventually began to drop. And when the clattering sound of it hitting the ground filled the air, they all burst into action and shot forward.
Their engines roared as they ran along the road towards the portal, with not a car or pothole getting in their way.
They all laughed, loving the thrill of being superheroes that got to ride around on high speed motorcycles. If anyone else had been watching, they would have just seen a bunch of blurs making their way down the street towards a swirling vortex.
Throughout the entire race, the four stayed together. At a few points, one of them pulled a few inches forward before the others caught up. No race in history had probably been as close as this one.
And soon enough, they arrived at the portal and the four Riders remained neck and neck. Shifter and Morphic were on the outside lanes, allowing E-Quest and Dragus to head into the portal. At the exact same time, they reached the portal and the two Mimics Riders raced around it.
As soon as they did, the pair swung their bikes around and did an anime sliding stop with their fronts pointing at one another. They looked back at the vortex and found the other two Riders had driven through it,
The pair smiled, as they watched the swirling vortex begin to slowly close. Eventually, it completely disappeared and their new friends were back in their own world. It seemed bittersweet, knowing they might never get to see their friends again. But the Riders knew the two were needed back home, the same way the two of them were needed there.
After a few moments, the Riders swung their bikes around and began to ride away at a relatively slow speed.
As they drove, Morphic looked over at Shifter and could tell something was wrong. "You okay?" The Rider glanced over at his partner. "You missing them already?"
"Kinda. But it's not that." Shifter looked ahead. "Burst said that the life of a Rider was a life of sacrifice. That in order to defeat their enemies, many Riders needed to give up everything. I'm just wondering if something like that is waiting for us in the future."
Morphic nodded, understanding why Shifter was so worried. "You don't have to keep this up, you know. You're a kid. You shouldn't have to face something like this."
"No," Shifter shook his head, "I refuse to do nothing when I have the power to help people. I'll fight as long as I need to. I just hope our experiences are more positive then some of the other Riders I heard about."
Morphic nodded. "I know the future is gonna be tough. We'll be in for a lot of hard fights before we can give up being Riders. But I know we can do it. No matter what the Mimics throw at us, we'll face it head on and win. Because there's nothing they can do that we can't stand against. And when this is over, I'm sure we'll be able to go back to our lives. Proud of what we were able to do to get there."
Shifter sighed, feeling slightly more at ease with that statement. "You're right." He began to pick up speed, Morphic following. "We will win. There's no telling what the future might hold. But I know if we stick together, it'll be a bright one."
"That's the stuff," Morphic nodded as they drove off. Flash was right. There was no telling what the future held for the Kamen Riders. Whatever curve balls were thrown their way, they just had to go with the floor and adapt. No matter what happened.
One month Later
It was the middle of a night and in a random alleyway, a bright light suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
From out of this light, Reeka suddenly appeared. The witch staggered forward before falling to the ground, looking absolutely exhausted. She panted, using her staff to keep her from collapsing fully. Sending herself so far into the future, even with the remaining energy of the Infinigem, had drained her beyond belief.
She took several moments to regain her energy before pushing herself up, the witch still leaning on her staff. "Mother," she whispered, "sister." Her vision turned hard. "I swear, I'll find a way to save you. So long as I have breath, I'll fight to revive you both. And when I do, this world will suffer under our wrath." However, as she was about to leave the alley, a sound filled the night air.
"SLASH!"
Reeka's eyes went wide, as she looked around. "What? Who said that? Answer me!" There was no answer for several moments, until a male voice suddenly yelled out to the heavens.
"HENSHIN!" Reeka couldn't tell where the voice came from and soon enough, another voice filled the air.
"MIMIC! MANTIS!" Reeka kept trying to figure out where it was coming from. And suddenly, something very fast shot past her. And when it did, she felt something slash against her chest whilst her staff was sliced in half.
"AUGH!" She staggered around and fell to the ground, as a figure suddenly appeared at the entrance of the alley.
She looked up and with the darkness of the night, she couldn't quite make out who she was looking at. But she knew one thing. This person was wearing a full body suit and armor. A passing car's headlights gave her the briefest hint of green, with a bit of purple here and there. And in the figure's hands were two twin short swords, which had cutlass designs.
As the figure slowly turned to her, their purple eyes shining in the night, the Mimic Driver on their waist spoke. "Bladed arms that slice through anything, cutting down the evils of the world!"
A few moments later, the figure raised their swords in a backhanded grip before rushing forward. Moments later, a scream filled the air. The last sound Reeka would ever make.

And that's it for this movie. Hope you enjoyed it and tell me what you think of that teaser at the end. Now it's time to return to the true battle. What will the Riders face, as the Mimics go back on the attack? Stay tuned to find out.
