Radiance looked down. Her bracelets had cracked, some of the gems broken completely.
"Ah, so that's what the sound was for," she said. "You must have gotten the exact frequency off of one of my other villains. You know I can just make more of these, right?" She knelt down into a fighting stance. "I think you'll find I'm quite formidable, even without my constructs."
"Ah, but so am I," he said, slithering forward.
"What's you name, anyway?" Radiance asked.
"Call me... The Lamia."

He led her over to the corner of the warehouse, where a machine awaited them.
