Author's Note

The girls meet up with some Bullies. And, I'm not talking about Garble and his bunch.

33. Run in with some Bullies

Apple Bloom and her friends were having breakfast in the Pokémon Center at Blackthorn City. Soon, they would make their way through Routes 45 and 46 to return to New Bark Town.

"That trial to get the Dragon Fang wasn't easy." Scootaloo said.

"But, it was worth it." Sweetie Belle replied as she feeds her Togepi. "You were given that item to power up your newly caught Dratini."

"Yeah, that's true. And, Apple Bloom got her eighth badge."

"Yup." Apple Bloom added. "Now, after resting in New Bark Town, we can head to the Johto League."

At that moment, some trainers came in with Pokémon that look hurt. Nurse Joy got upset. "Not again."

Curious, Apple Bloom walked up to check things out. "What's the matter, Nurse Joy."

"There are reports that a brother and sister duo are hurting Pokémon along Routes 45 and 46." Nurse Joy said. "Whether they belong to trainers or not."

"That's so not right!" Sweetie Belle said angrily. "Who are these bullies?"

"They are Bobby and Bonnie Kreel. These twins are ruthless to Pokémon."

"We're heading through those routes anyway." Apple Bloom said. "Let's teach them a lesson."

Soon, the three girls left Blackthorn City to reach their goal. As the girls walk through Route 45, they see a boy and girl. Both with blond hair and both wear red shirts and black pants with suspenders.

"I'll bet those guys are Bobby and Bonnie." Scootaloo figured.

Soon, they saw a small blue elephant like critter walking buy. Apple Bloom got out her Pokédex. "That's a Phanpy."

Phanpy, the Long Nose Pokémon. Said the Pokédex. It uses it's long nose to spray water.

Just then, the strange pair brutally approached Phanpy. The boy soon grabbed Pokémon and slapped it in the nose. Then, he dropped Phanpy. The little critter cried as the girl kicked it. "Shut up, Crybaby!"

The Phanpy ran off and found itself crawling to Sweetie Belle.

"Poor little Phanpy." Sweetie Belle said, cuddling the critter. "You didn't deserve that."

This made Apple Bloom angry. She decided to approached the duo.

"Hey, you bullies!" Apple Bloom said angrily. "You stop picking on Pokémon right now."

"Be quiet, you hick!" The boy shouted. "Me and my sister, Bonnie, can do whatever we want!"

"You tell her, Bobby." The girl added.

This made Apple Bloom mire angry. Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo joined her.

"Listen here, you two." Scootaloo said. "How about we settle this with a Pokémon battle."

"No way!" Bonnie said. "We don't battle against such wimps!"

"Besides, we don't have Pokémon." Bobby informed. "Who cares about them. WE DON'T!"

The twins left harshly. This left the Cutie Mark Crusaders shocked.

"They don't care about Pokémon?" Apple Bloom said with confusion. "How low can you go?"

"There's got to be something we can do to stop those guys." Sweetie Belle said.

Then, Apple Bloom got an idea. "If we can find out why they don't like Pokémon, then we can turn their lives around."

"And, how will we find out what their problem is?" Scootaloo asked.

"I think my Hypno can handle that."

The girls soon saw the twins again. They were throwing rocks at a swarm of Beedrill and Butterfree.

"Get lost, you dum bugs!" Bobby yelled.

The mean twins soon saw the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Apple Bloom's Hypno approaching them.

"What do you losers want?" Bonnie asked cruelly.

"Time to see what's wrong with you." Apple Bloom answered. "Hypno, use Hypnosis."

Before Bobby and Bonnie can react, Hypno swung it's pendulum and hypnotized them. Apple Bloom soon spoke to them. "Now, why don't you two like Pokémon?"

Under the power of Hypno, Bobby answered her question. "Me and my sister were excited to begin our journey here in Johto."

Flashback

I was ready to begin my journey with my sister supporting me. I received a Chikorita from Professor Elm. But, just when we were ready to head out, a group of mean boys showed up.

A group of boys called out various Pokémon like Mankey, Poliwrath, and Machop to slap the twins around. Bobby called out. "Chikorita, use Vine Whip to drive them back."

Chikorita extended it's vines. But, Mankey stepped aside as the vine struck Bonnie. This got the twins upset as one of the boys spoke. "You can never trust Pokémon. They'll betray you all the time!"

The shadowy brutes recalled their Pokémon and left the area laughing meanly. The results of what happened affected the twins as Bobby grabbed Chikorita and gave it back to Professor Elm.

"Give this Pokémon to somebody else." Bobby said angrily. "We're not waisting our time!"

The twins soon left.

End of Flashback

The hypnosis wore off and the twins got a little confused.

"What happened?" Bobby asked.

"I don't know." Bonnie answered. "But, I feel a little different than earlier."

"That's because you told us your sad backstory." Apple Bloom explained. "Thanks to my friend here."

The brother and sister saw Hypno, and realized what happened.

"Of course." Bobby realized. "Under hypnosis, we confessed our reason for hurting Pokémon." He soon felt sad. "Now, I'm starting to regret what I've done."

"Me too, brother." Bonnie added, cuddling him. "Me too."

The twins teared up in sorrow. Later, the twins were strapped in straitjackets and lead into an ambulance.

"A few days in our facility should help you get over your problem." One of the doctors said.

After Bonnie stepped into the ambulance, Bobby started to get on board. "Thanks, doctor."

After the doors were closed, the ambulance went on it's way. A patrolling Officer Jenny talked to the girls.

"I appreciate what you girls have done." Jenny said. "Now, those two will get the help they need. Thank you."

"You're welcome, Officer Jenny." Apple Bloom replied.

Sweetie Belle soon noticed Phanpy nuzzling her. Officer Jenny has an idea. "I think that Phanpy wants to go with you."

"Really?" Sweetie wondered.

"She's right." Scootaloo said. "That Phanpy felt safe with you when those bullies were raging."

Noticing Scootaloo was right, Sweetie Belle took out a Poké Ball and tapped Phanpy with it. After a few shakes, the ball clicked. This made Sweetie Belle happy. "Now I have a full belt."

With a new Pokémon with them, the trio of friends continue their travels to New Bark Town, and training for the Johto League.
