Author's Note

Apple Bloom is ready for a game from the original Jackbox Party Pack.

July 8-Drawful

It was a cloudy day as Apple Bloom walked around the old section where Jackbox Village got started. She has an urge to try one of these old games. She looked around, and saw the area where Fibbage XL is held.

"I have to remember what AJ told me." Apple Bloom said.

Flashback

"Sure, Fibbage is about falsehoods." Applejack told her sister. "But, sometimes deceit and deception can be a good thing. Like how we often fool those shifty Flim Flams."

End of Flashback

"I will work up the courage to play those Fibbage games." Apple Bloom started as she turns to the art studio. "For now, Drawful is speaking to me."

Apple Bloom walks into the art studio. A female artist with red hair greets her. "Welcome to my art studio. Are you here to play some Drawful?"

"That's what I here for." Apple Bloom answered.

"Okay. Sign this sheet and you'll be assigned your own station."

Apple Bloom sees five names so far. After signing her name, she is sent to a table with a tablet and pen. After there are eight people in the room, the lovely artist steps in to greet them. Apple Bloom was surprised to see her wear a red T shirt and blue overalls.

"Hello, artists." The girl greeted. "My name is Penelope Pallette. Welcome to Drawful. I know I don't look like an artist. But, those who do painting in their homes sometimes wear overalls. So, I decided to wear this comfy look."

Everybody got a chuckle put of that, especially Apple Bloom.

"Here's how this challenge works." Penelope said. "Since there are eight of you, each of you will receive a title of what your picture is of. All you have to do is draw what this title would look like. Then, you'll have a chance to make up your own title for any painting that shows up. You'll earn points for everyone you fool. And, you'll earn points for guessing the right title. Plus, if it's your painting, you'll receive points for each good guess."

Everybody nodded at the rules. Penelope made an announcement. "Okay, artists. Let's get sketching!"

The eight artists began studying their prompts and have a good idea. Apple Bloom saw her prompt and instantly got an image in mind. After everything was done, Penelope got their attention. "Now, comes the fun part. You'll see a picture, then come up with a title that might fool the other players."

One of the pictures is a boy crying. His tears are falling like a waterfall. Apple Bloom has a good idea for a title. After all the titles were presented, Penelope continues the tutorial. "Now, decide what you think is the real title of this picture."

Everybody made their choices. Apple Bloom chose 'Leaky Faucet'. Then, the titles were shown one at a time. Apple Bloom got fooled by her choice. A girl with dirty blond hair in pigtails got her attention. "Pretty good guess though,"

AB was happy when two of the players chose her title, and guessed incorrectly. That's 1,000 points for her. The real answer was 'Cry me a River'. Two people guessed it correctly. Each earned 1,000 while the artists earned 1,000 for each correct guess. That's a total of 2,000.

The game was going smoothly. Soon, a picture of a man running with a storm cloud chasing him.

That's MY drawing. Apple Bloom thought. I hope these folks figure it out.

Eight titles came out. Four people guessed 'Running From a Storm' It turned out to be the right answer. This made Apple happy. After every round, the scoreboard is shown, to show who's leading. Apple Bloom was in fifth. But, she soon saw that she's in a close second.

"How did I jump that high?" Apple Bloom wondered.

One of the artists, a man with a scruffy beard, gave her the answer. "If someone guess the right title, not only do the guessers get points, the artist gets accumulated points too. Sort of an artists bonus. That's why you got a 4,000 point boost."

"Oh yeah. That's right."

Later that day, the contest is over. And Penelope Palette stepped up to the artists.

"You've all done so good with your drawings." Penelope said happily. "But, there has to be a winner. So, let's see what the scoreboard has to say."

The artists looked at the scoreboard. To everybody's surprise, Apple Bloom was at the top with 10,500.

"I won?" Apple Bloom gasped. "Really?"

"You're not seeing things, Apple Bloom." Penelope told her. "You won this game of Drawful!"

Everybody cheered and clapped for Apple Bloom. She still can't believe that she won this game.

The people soon left the art studio. Just as Apple Bloom was ready to leave, Penelope Pallette stopped her. "Hold it a minute, Apple Bloom."

This surprised the farm girl. "What's the matter, Penelope?"

"I'm very proud of you. That picture you drew was very creative."

"Aw!" Apple Bloom cooed as she blushed.

"If you get a chance," Penelope advised, "you should visit my sister, Pamela. She hosts a different version of Drawful."

"Is that version called 'Drawful Animate'?"

"I see somebody knows their Jackbox games. Yes, and I think you'll love that one."

This made Apple Bloom feel like she can handle anything. She took one look at where Fibbage is held, and gave a warm smile. "I'm not gonna be afraid of Fibbage much longer. If I can handle Drawful, I can handle any game."

She then walks from the old section and heads back to her summer home. As she walks down the streets, she looks around places she hasn't visited yet. Apple Bloom looks at an old mansion, probably the setting for Monster Seeking Monster. She sees a building with a chimp wearing a lab coat.

"That looks like Professor Nanners." Apple Bloom figured. "I'll visit her soon."

Apple Bloom returns to the Felmanders' house, and thinks about what her next challenge is. Meanwhile, the vicious Miss Harshwhinny hears about Apple Bloom's summer adventure. And, is very disappointed. "I was hoping that someone would remind her of her bad past." Harshwhinny then felt worried. "I hope this won't come back to haunt me."
