Time for a little word play. Dictionarium style.

July 12-Dictionarium

After the crazy time last night, Apple Bloom decides to spends time in a library. As she was relaxing in the quiet atmosphere, she was approached by the intellectual Micro Chips.

"Hello, Apple Bloom." Micro greeted. "What brings you here? I never thought somebody like you would be in a library."

"Howdy, Micro." Apple Bloom said. "I'm just trying to get over my freaky experience last night."

"What happened? Nightmares about the Anon-a-Miss conspiracy."

"No. Me and my friends were thrusted into a game of Trivia Murder Party."

This news rattled Micro a bit. "Oh yeah. This neighborhood is Jackbox Village. And, Trivia Murder Party is one of the many games Jackbox created."

"And, I participated in two of them." Said the voice of a familiar girl.

In steps Twilight Sparkle who is ready for a day in the library herself.

"Howdy, Twilight." Apple Bloom greeted.

"Hi, Apple Bloom." Twilight replied.

As the two girls hugged each other, Micro got curious. "Which games did you take part in, Twilight?"

"Survive the Internet and Patently Stupid." Twilight answered. "I won the latter."

Just then, Canterlot socialite, Hoity Toity, walks in and makes an announcement. "May I have your attention?"

Everybody in the library soon turned to Hoity. Even the Librarian.

"I have come to host a fascinating game of Dictionarium." Hoity Toity said. "And, I shall select eight players at random."

"Good idea." The librarian said. "Dictionarium is always fun."

Minutes later, eight people were selected. Apple Bloom, Micro Chips, and Twilight are among them.

"Now that we're all assembled," Hoity Toity said, "we came begin the game. I shall hand you folks paper with a made up word. One word for each four of you. All you need to do is think of a definition of the word you get."

As Hoity Toity gives the players their papers, they study the words they receive. Four of them have the word 'cracklice', including Twilight and Micro, and the other four, including Apple Bloom, have the word 'moogler'.

"This ain't gonna be easy." Apple Bloom said. "But, I hope to do good."

"Okay, players." Hoity Toity announced. "Begin!"

Everybody started to study their words. Soon, they started writing. Apple Bloom wrote down 'Propaganda people against magic'. She looks satisfied. "I hope there are some Harry Potter fans among these people."

Meanwhile, Twilight and Micro worked hard. Twilight wrote 'cave spikes falling apart'.

"That's fast." Micro said. "I hope I can keep up."

After two minutes, Hoity Toity picked up the papers and studied them well.

"Okay, friends." Hoity Toity announced. "Here are the best definitions for both words." Everybody is excited. "Best definition for 'Cracklice' is 'New formula for removing ice from cables safely'."

A red haired man wearing a leather jacket took a bow as everybody clapped. Twilight was shocked. "I didn't think of that."

"Well, ice can make cables heavy." The winner explained. "That causes a good amount of power outages, you know."

Hoity Toity makes another announcer. "The best definition for 'moogler' is 'Propaganda people against magic'.

Everybody clapped for Apple Bloom. She couldn't believe that her definition was chosen. A girl with jet black hair looked at her with interest. Must be a Harry Potter fan. Gotta respect that.

Minutes later, Hoity Toity gave the eight players the papers with the words and winning definitions. "Now, we move on Round two. Now that these words have definitions, think of a synonym for the words. That means, think of a word that means the same thing as the word we started with. Go!"

Everybody though hard about a word that's the same for the word they got Apple Bloom wrote down 'Antimag'. Another person who had the same word was interested. "Antimag as in Anti magic?"

"That's the idea." Apple Bloom replied.

"Well, you get points for creativity."

Soon, Hoity Toity got everybody's attention again. "All right you Word Spuds, See what I did there?, The winning synonym for cracklice is 'meltaloid'."

A proud adult with brown hair stood up, saying he wrote that word. Twilight and Micro were impressed,

"The best synonym for moogler is 'normforcer'," Hoity Toity announced.

That word came from the girl with jet black hair who turned to Apple Bloom. "Your definition was my inspiration."

The farm girl received a hug from the writer of the synonym. Hoity Toity spoke up. "So far, in points, Cathy Inker is leading." That was the girl with jet black hair. "Our final round could decide it. In this round, you must make up a sentence using the original word you were given. Good luck, all of you."

It's not easy making up a sentence using a word they just received. Some of the players are struggling. Micro Chips kept a cool head, and started writing.

"What sentence are you writing, Micro?" Twilight asked.

"You'll find out soon." Micro replied.

Meanwhile, Apple Bloom started writing a sentence for her word. "I hope this will wow the crowd."

Two minutes later, Hoity Toity made an announcement. "I'm very pleased with all of these sentences, friends. However, only two of these are perfect for the Dictionarium."

The crowd was getting nervous. Twilight, Micro, and Apple Bloom were equally nervous.

"The winning sentence for cracklice," Hoity Toity said, "Somebody get some cracklice before the cables snap."

Everybody clapped as Micro Chips waved to the crowd.

"That was you?" Twilight gasped.

Micro gave a warm smile. "Yup."

"And, the winning sentence for moogler," Hoity Toity said, "Those darn mooglers won't leave Harry alone!"

Apple Bloom waved to the crowd. They were impressed with her participation.

"I've been keeping tracks of all of your scores." Hoity Toity said to everyone. "The winner of this game of Dictionarium is......Micro Chips!"

The crowd clapped for Micro as he waved to the people. Hoity Toity walked up to Apple Bloom. "You did pretty good, my dear. Your definition and sentence were great Dictionarium material."

Hoity Toity shook Apple Bloom's hand in friendship. This is a small, but satisfying, victory. Twilight and Micro were proud of her too.
