July 28-Civic Doodle

Apple Bloom walks down the streets of another section of Jackbox Village. So far, no sign of bad people reminding her of her bad past. Soon, she sees her friends, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo waving to her. As she approached her two partners, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon arrived as well.

"So, this is Doodle Valley. Huh?" Scootaloo said.

"I guess so." Diamond answered.

Soon the girls saw a girl about their size. She has on a lavender dress and has white and sky blue hair in many ponytails.

"Hello, everybody." The girl greeted.

"I think I've heard of ya." Apple Bloom said. "You're Cozy Glow. Faithful helper of Queen Chrysalis from Changeland."

"That's me. I decided to take a break from my duties and visit Doodle Valley. Even our bodyguard, Tirek, thinks I should spend some alone time."

"Either way, it's nice to meet you."

As Apple Bloom and Cozy Glow shook hands in friendship, Rumble and another girl, Haiku, walks up to the group.

"Hi, Apple Bloom." Rumble said. "It's been a while."

"Yup." Apple Bloom replied. "Still thinking of our time in the Guesspionage Lab?"

"I guess I am."

At that moment, a young lady wearing with wavy red hair came along. Followed by a hefty man with curly black hair and a mustache.

"Welcome to Doodle Valley." The girl said. "My name is Gloria. And, this fellow is Doodle Valley's mayor."

"Pleasure to meet you." The mayor said. "We are in need of some young artists like you to beautify our humble section of Jackbox Village."

"Sounds intriguing." Sweetie Belle said.

"I agree." Haiku added. "A great way to show off our talents."

"Excellent." Gloria praised. "Follow us."

The eight youngsters follow Gloria and the mayor to a big brick wall. Gloria points to lines that cross like a letter T. "As you can see, this is already started. But, we need help finishing it." She then points to two tables with tablets on each of them. "Let's start with two of you to add on to those lines, any way you wish."

"I choose Scootaloo and Diamond Tiara to start off." The mayor said.

Scootaloo and Diamond went to their respected tables. Gloria gave the signal. "Okay, girls. Go!"

Scootaloo and Diamond behan to scribble on their tablets. Scootaloo drew a Rubik's cube type object while Diamond scribbled out a kite. After the drawing was done, Gloria spoke to the other girls. "Now, look at these drawings and each of you pick who's sketch is the best. Go for it!"

After a few seconds, four chose the Rubik's cube and two chose the kite.

"Excellent, Scootaloo." The mayor praised. "Sometimes bigger isn't always better."

Diamond admitted, the mayor is right. On the brick wall, the extra lines appeared. Everybody is pleased as the tablets reset.

"Next artists will be Silver Spoon and Haiku." The mayor announced.

The girls went to their tablets, ready to go. Gloria gave them the signal. "Get sketching!"

Silver Spoon drew a table under the cube while Haiku drew a stick figure holding the cube. After the drawing was done, Gloria spoke to the others. "Which is better? Vote your choice."

Seems that Haiku's drawing of the stick figure got a lot of attention. It got the most votes. Diamond gave Silver a warm hug. "Don't feel bad, Silver. Sometimes, basic stuff works."

"Yeah, you're right." Silver replied.

After the stick figure appeared on the wall, the mayor spoke to the group. "My next artists will be Apple Bloom and Cozy Glow."

The two girls went to the tables ready for action. Gloria gave them the go ahead. "Let's see what you can do."

Apple Bloom drew a banner reading "Champion", while Cozy Glow drew a crown and cape on the stick figure. After everything was done, Gloria told the others what they were waiting for. "Choose your favorite."

The decision was made. Cozy's addition won five to three. Apple Bloom was shocked to see this.

"Many people appreciate royalty." Cozy Glow said. "You got to respect that."

Cozy gave Apple Bloom a comforting hug. As the addition was appearing on the wall, the Mayor got the artists attention. "Okay, Sweetie Belle and Rumble. That leaves you two."

As the two remaining artists get to their tables, Gloria gave them the go ahead. "It's your turn to finish this masterpiece. Go!"

It was intense. Sweetie Belle drew a stage as a background while Rumble drew lights surrounding the figure. After the drawing was done, Gloria spoke out. "You guys know the drill. Get going."

After much consideration, Sweetie's addition won the contest. Scootaloo and Sweetie hugged each other as the picture on the wall was completed.

"You guys did wonderful." Gloria praised. "One more thing is needed. A title."

The mayor spoke to the group as he handed them pieces of paper and pens. "Each of you will write down what this picture should be titled. Get writing."

The group each drew their on title of this picture. After each of the titles are placed on a bulletin board, they looked at these titled and voted for their favorite. Soon, the mayor printed up the chosen title. It was "The Ruler of the Rubik's Cube".

"That's what you wrote, Apple Bloom." Cozy realized.

"Yup." Apple Bloom replied. "Your addition of the cape and crown was my inspiration."

"I never knew I can inspire anybody. I'm humbled."

The mayor spoke to the group. "This is a great picture. You folks showed off some great talent. Perhaps there maybe more young talents like you."

"Thank you for helping us, folks." Gloria said. "If we need your help again, we'll contact you."

Soon, the group of eight left Doodle Valley, and went to a park. They say down at a picnic table with some food they brought from a convenience store. As they enjoy the food and each other's company, Tirek, bodyguard of Chrysalis, watches the scene.

"My queen would be proud of you, Cozy Glow." Tirek said to himself. "I'm glad I chose you to be part of our court."

With that, Tirek returned to his queen.
