Apple Bloom joins Twilight again. They both meet Professor Nanners for a game of "Nonsensory".
August 2-Nonsensory
Apple Bloom walks down a street along Twilight Sparkle. The intellect asked the farm girl to accompany her to an office building.
"Thanks for inviting me to join ya, Twilight." Apple Bloom said happily.
"You're welcome." Twilight replied. "I can remember last month when you and I attended Toby and Lena's seminar. Everybody was impressed by our inventions."
"I know. So, what's up today?"
"We're talking part in a test using writing and drawing skills."
The twosome headed into a building. There, they were seadted with six other people.
"I remember you, Apple Bloom." One of the people said. "You were at Toby and Lena's seminar. Your Gabby Gums invention got a lot of attention."
The farm girl feels good, knowing she got noticed in a good way. Soon, a chimpanzee walks in. This chimp has on a lab coat over a yellow shirt with a red tie. It also wore blue pants and glasses. On it's head is a metal helmet with lights on top. A female voice is heard from the helmets as the light light up with the speech.
"Hello." The voice said. "I'm Professor Nanners. Thank you all for taking part in these tests of Nonsensory. This will determine how well you can use your minds."
"Professor Nanners seems very impressive." Apple commented.
"Well, chimpanzees are among the most intellectual primates around." Twilight added.
Suddenly, Nanners approached Twilight. "Thank you, Miss Sparkle. I'm very honored to have you here. One intellect to another."
Twilight felt honored as Professor Nanners spoke again. "Test one: Writing. You will see a prompt on your screen, and write a movie title. Be sure to use the percentage bar into account."
Everybody studied their assignment, and started writing. Even Twilight and Apple Bloom have ideas. As soon as they were done, Professor Nanners spoke to them. "Let's see how well you've done. How likely is this the title of a Karate movie?"
On the screen is the title "Geisha Fighter" They guessed anywhere from 10% to 100%. Soon, lights lit up everywhere on the scale. It stopped on 30%. Two plugs went on 30. Others wet to 20 and 40. Apple Bloom's went to 50. She was a bit off. Twilight guessed 20. She came close. Test one continues. Everybody tried to tune into the percentages of others. Soon, the test was done.
"Okay, friends." Professor Nanners spoke. "Some of you are doing splendidly."
Twilight is impressed at being third. "I may not be perfect sometimes. Even I'm not a mind reader, you know."
Apple Bloom is sad at being sixth. Nanners went to comfort her. "Don't worry, Miss Bloom. This experiment is just beginning."
This made the farm girl feel a bit better. Professor Nanners got everybody's attention again. "Test two: Drawing. Each of you will draw a bug. Study the type of bug you should draw and the percentage bar. Let's begin."
The participants looked at the prompts they got. Some started already. Apple Bloom has an idea with hers. When the drawings are done, Nanners began speaking. "Let's start with this. How strong is this bug?"
Everybody looked at the bug. It looked like it's lifting a car. One of the patrons is skeptical. "Looks like it's lifting a toy car. Easily 30%."
The answer is actually 80%. Five of the people guessed it right while one guessed 70%. This was Apple Bloom's picture. She was happy. "That's an extra 2,500 for me."
Apple Bloom made a right guess on a picture of a bug playing multiple instruments. The prompt was "How musical is this bug?" She guessed 70% and she was correct. Twilight had her fair share of good guesses too. After round two, Apple Bloom nudged up to third place with Twilight in the lead.
"You are doing pretty good." Nanners said. "Some of you even improved from test one." Apple Bloom blushed as Nanners continues. "Now, time for test three, the final test. Draw a combination of two items. Don't forget that percentage scale."
Everybody started drawing their views. Twilight saw her prompt, and went to work immediately. Apple Bloom had a good idea with her prompt.
"Now, let's see how you accomplished your goal. Professor Nanners said. Where does this drawing stand between Music and Magic?"
It was a drawing of music notes coming out of a hat. Both Twilight and Apple Bloom guessed 60% magic. Each were correct. Professor Nanners was pleased. "Some of you were spot on."
Apple Bloom got the prompt of snake and saxophone. It was a Saxophone with eyes and tongue of a snake. Somebody guessed 80% saxophone. That was correct. Apple Bloom was pleased. "That wasn't bad."
"Not bad at all." Twilight remarked.
Twilight drew between dragon and desk. It was a desk with a dragon's head and tail. Four guessed 70% dragon. But, it was actually 70% desk. Twilight was a little sad. "Some people don't see the small details.
The tests were over as Professor Nanners got everybody's attention. "Thank you all for your participation. Now, let's see who is the winner."
The eight participants were getting nervous. After a few seconds, Nanners made an announcement. "Our grand winner is......Apple Bloom!"
The farm girl was shocked as Twilight and the others clapped for her victory. One of the participants shook her hand. "Your drawings were spot on with the prompts. You deserve this victory."
At that moment, Professor Nanners came to get. "He's correct, miss Bloom. Your drawing skills helped you bounce back. I'm proud of you."
Later, Twilight and Apple Bloom are sitting on a bench at a park.
"Professor Nanners has a point, Apple Bloom." Twilight praised. "You drew pretty good."
"Thanks, Twilight." Apple Bloom replied as she munches on a soft pretzel. "Those Drawful challenges helped me with my drawing skills."
As Twilight takes a sip from her water bottle, she realized that Apple Bloom made a fair point. "Maybe I should play Drawful and Drawful Animate. I think you might be on to something."
The girls giggled as they continue to enjoy their time together.
