Author's Note

The next part of Apple Bloom's Quiplash challenge has her face an unholy trio.

August 20-Quiplash 2

The sun is shining as Apple Bloom looks around the county fair that arrived in Jackbox Village. She was amazed with everything in this event. The food booths, the rides, everything. Rumble was in the area so he joined her.

"And, I thought the fair in Canterlot was amazing." Apple Bloom said.

"I agree." Rumble replied. "I love the different kinds of foods they have here."

Soon, they were greeted by a foreign female voice. "Apple Bloom. Good to see you."

The farm girl turned to see avid photographer, Photo Finish, waving to her.

"Photo Finish!" Apple Bloom gasped. "What are y'all doing here?"

"Same thing you're doing, I suppose." Photo answered. "Enjoying the fair. I think Jackbox Village is one of the most fascinating places to visit."

"Don't I know it. Say, where are your partners?"

"If you're talking if Violet Blurry and Pixel Pizzazz, they're checking a stage decorated with the faces of Quiplash."

This got Apple Bloom interested. The three friends came to the mentioned stage. Violet and Pixel were there as well as the elegant couple, Jet Set and Upper Crust, stepped up on the stage.

"Hello, fans of the fair." Jet Set greeted. "My darling wife and I were asked to host a grand game of Quiplash 2. This is the game where hilarity rules."

Upper Crust looks among the crowd. "I see we have Photo Finish and her associates among the crowd. How would you like to join the game?"

"I be delighted to." Photo replied. "Come on, girls."

As Photo Finish and her partners came up to the stage, Jet Set saw Apple Bloom. "Good afternoon, Miss Bloom. I hear Mr. Cheese Sandwich issued you a Quiplash challenge."

"Yes sir." Apple Bloom replied.

"Then, come on up. Bring your friend there with you."

"Come on, Rumble. Let's get our quips on."

Suddenly, the infamous Dazzlings showed up. Apple Bloom and Photo Finish are annoyed with them.

"Since you already have five players," Adagio Dazzle called out, "how about the three of us fill in those remaining slots?"

"As much as you bother people," Upper Crust said, "might as well."

Soon, the eight players were sitting down on tables with tablets on them as they hear the rules.

"My wife and I will send each of you two prompts." Jet Set explained. "Answer them anyway you like. Then, you'll vote for your favorite answer."

"Points will be awarded depending on the percentage of people who voted for your response." Upper Crust continued. "Here we go!"

The players looked at their prompts. Apple Bloom and Photo Finish looked at the Dazzlings. They don't trust those crafty Sirens. Soon, Jet Set got their attention. "Here's a good way to start. The most unique excuse to not do housework."

The answers were "Stomach Flu " and "My favorite show is on". The votes were counted. And, the favorite show answer wins. It was Sonata's answer and she beat Pixel Pizzazz.

"I thought sickness is a good reason." Pixel protested.

"You just don't know what people are in to." Sonata replied as she chuckled.

Another prompt read "Many people look good riding a motorcycle. Except ________". The answers were "A clown" and "Mandark". Four people voted for Mandark, which was Apple Bloom's answer.

"That was your response?!" Aria said with shock.

"I always did like Dexter's Laboratory." Apple Bloom replied.

Later, round one was done. Adagio Dazzle was currently in the lead. Photo, Apple Bloom, and Rumble were upset with this. Upper Crust got everybody's attention. "Time for round two. Rules are the same. Except, point values are doubled. Great way for some of you to catch up. Get quipping!"

The players got writing. Apple Bloom felt the pressure. Sixth place? I need to improve myself here.

Photo looks at Adagio as she writes her own responses. You are in the lead, Miss Dazzle. But, not for long.

After everyone was done, Upper Crust started off the second round. "Here's your first prompt. When club hopping, be sure to bring your ________."

The responses were "bunny friends' and 'bed springs'. Aria came up with "Bed Springs'". Violet Blurr got stunned. "I've been hanging out with Fluttershy too much."

Another prompt was "What kind of Super power would you like?". Adagio replied with "X ray vision". Photo Finish said "Hidden camera in glasses". The lead Dazzling was shocked with the voting. "I've been Quiplashed!!"

Aria and Sonata were shocked to see that. Apple Bloom and Rumble applauded her victory. Round two was over. Photo took over the lead. Apple Bloom did a little better. She sees herself in fourth.

"Here's the final round, folks." Jet Set announced as he brings out a wheel. "I'll spin this special wheel. Whatever it stops at, that will be how we'll finish."

The wheel spins fast. It's stopping slowly. It then stops as a comic strip panel. Upper Crust was very pleased. "It's a Comic Lash!"

A picture came on the screen. It was a man holding a young woman as a prisoner. The man was saying, "You won't get away, my pretty!" The woman, who was tied up, has an empty speech balloon.

"Study this panel." Upper Crust said. "Then, write whatever you think that woman would say. Good luck."

The players had some good ideas. After all of the answers were shown. Upper Crust continued the game. "Now, each of you vote for your three favorite responses. From first favorite to third favorite."

Everyone studied the responses. After the voting, Jet Set made his announcement. "Time to award these responses. First, with bronze tokens, then silver, and finally, gold."

The players watched the tokens pile up in their answers. Adagio is pleased with Aria's response, 'Do what you want, master'. "Well done, Aria. I wish I thought of that."

Apple Bloom's response, 'Shut up and make love to me', got some notice. "Wow! I guess some of these guys get the idea.'

After the tokens, Jet Set made an announcement. "Now, let's turn these tokens into points."

Aria's response got a whopping 4,000 points. Apple Bloom received 2,500 points for her answer. But, the winner was Photo Finish, who's award of 3,000 points helped her stay in first place. Later, everybody talked about their experience.

"Congratulations, Photo Finish." Violet said. "I like that response to the Comic Lash."

"I figured my response, What kind of date is this, would get a lot of notice." Photo replied as she looks at her gold medal.

Aria Blaze was admiring her silver medal. Sonata Dusk was very sad. "You got second? That's depressing."

"Easy, Sonata." Aria said to her. "I'm happy with a silver medal. Photo may have won. But, I did beat that farm kid. She wound up getting the bronze."

Adagio Dazzle comforted her sad sister. "Let's head for the taco stand. Tacos always make you smile."

This made Sonata happy. Meanwhile, Apple Bloom and Rumble were enjoying some ice cream sundaes.

"Sorry you didn't go to the top." Rumble said sadly.

"Don't feel bad." Apple Bloom replied, hoping to help him feel better. "I did get something."

Apple Bloom admired the bronze medal she got for finishing in third. She then had a thought. Can't wait to see what Quiplash 3 has in store for me.
