Author's Note

In a medieval Canterlot, the three best friends (CMCs) are in for a night of surprises,

N is for Night

The skies are twinkling with stars as the moon gives off a soft glow. Walking barefoot through a forest, Crimson Blaze enjoys the atmosphere carrying a marigold N. "N is for Night."

Night falls in a peaceful village near a mountain. In one of the houses, Scootaloo, an up and coming scout, sharpens up a spear when her guardian, Rainbow Dash, walks in.

"Hey, Scootaloo." Rainbow Dash calls out. "What are you up to?"

"Me and my two friends are doing some nighttime hunting. We might find some game out there."

"I don't know. You and those two pals of yours, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle, are proving yourselves. But, isn't this a little dangerous?"

"When the three of us work together, nothing can get in our way."

Dressed in a red shirt and black 3/4 pants, she sets off on her hunt. Dash watches with concern. "I hope those three don't run into that witch: Nightmare Moon."

Scootaloo ventures into the woods. Sweetie Belle, dressed in a long sleeve dresses, joins her with a bow and arrows in her hand. After putting on a black shirt and blue overalls, Apple Bloom grabs a stone tomahawk and runs off to join the crew.

"Brace yourselves." Sweetie Belle informs. "I hear there are wild boar in these parts."

"Sounds good to me." Apple Bloom said. "I love the taste of pork."

"Don't we all?"

Suddenly, they saw a huge pig like creature stalking in the woods.

"Rainbow Dash told me about this beast." Scootaloo said. "This big pig raids the gardens at night. The elders are offering a good amount of gold to whoever can eliminate it."

"That's an opportunity for us." Apple Bloom cheered. "Here's where your archery skills come in, Sweetie Belle."

The girls hide behind some bushes. They watch the vicious boar. Drawing her bow back, Sweetie Belle aimed, and launched an arrow. As soon as the arrow struck the boar, it began to wither in pain. Apple Bloom and Scootaloo charged in with their weapons and struck at it. At that moment, village leader Celestia came in to see what's going on.

"You got that wild boar!" Celestia said. "You three are deceitfully skilled."

"Thank you, ma'am." Apple Bloom replied.

Hearing the commotion, a group of villagers lead by Celesta's sister, Luna, came to the area. "We'll bring the boar to the village. We'll pay you the gold we promise."

As the group gathered to bring the boar to the village, a shadowy figure arrived. She had glowing blue hair, and wore a black gown. Everybody was shocked to see this figure.

"It's Nightmare Moon!" Luna shouted. "Back to the village!"

As the group of people retreated, Nightmare Moon made some rope appear and wrapped the three young warriors up.

"Apple Bloom! Sweetie Belle! Scootaloo!" Celestia gasped.

Nightmare Moon approached the bound trio. "You're coming with me!"

Making a fireld of energy appear, Nightmare Moon and the girls vanish. After storing the hog, Luna gets concerned. "Nightmare Moon is a strange woman. I wonder what she's up to."

The three brave young women find themselves in a fortress. They each have their hands tied behind their back. They are starting to get nervous.

"What do you think this witch will do to us?" Sweetie Belle asked.

"I don't know." Scootaloo replied. "But, I wouldn't give her any suggestions."

At that moment, Nightmare Moon comes along. She looks at the young maidens.

"I hope I didn't scare you too much." Nightmare Moon said. "That's why you're tied up."

"Are we your prisoners?" Scootaloo asked.

"Not quite. I'm not as hideous as you were lead to believe."

"What do you mean by that?" Apple Bloom wondered.

Nightmare Moon got out some powder. She then spread it in the air as the three girls see images. The witch explained her story.

"Before I became interested in magic, I was a dancer." Nightmare Moon explained. "My beautiful body was admired by men and women alike."

The girls watched the illusions of her dancing beautifully. Then, the images changed into an angry man as her story continues. "One day, a vicious man named Garble barged into a room I rented."

Flashback

A young man was having sex with Nightmare Moon. As she was on all fours, an angry young man barged in.

"You floozie!" The angry person shouted. "You're just milking men for money! Nobody should be enchanted by you!"

Garble had me thrown out of my home. Then, a wise shaman named Zecora took me in and taught me to do some magic. She realized that I was a fast study. After one year, I decided to try and use my magic for good.

However, Garble wasn't done with me yet. Hearing that I use magic now, he called me a witch. He said that witches are all evil. I ran far away. And, I came to this vicinity.

End of Flashback

"Oh, my." Apple Bloom gasped. "We feel you pain."

"Must've been very embarrassing for you to suffer like this." Scootaloo added.

"Thanks, ladies." Nightmare Moon said with relief.

At that moment, Celestia and Luna arrived at the hideout. Nightmare Moon got scared until Celestia approached her.

"I had a feeling this old fort was useful for you." Celestia said. "Are the girls okay?"

"They're fine." Nightmare Moon replied. "Sorry for my sudden appearance."

"My sister and I learned of your magic. We felt you just had to show off."

"We learned of your sad back story." Luna said. "Perhaps we can use somebody like you."

This got the witch surprised. "You want me to live in your village?"

"Yes. We can use a medicine woman like you. I see promise within you."

This got Nightmare Moon very comforted. The three maidens were untied and are taken back tomtheor home village. With Nightmare Moon right behind them. The next day, the three friends are feasting with other villagers. They were eating the pork of the pig the girls hinted the night before.

In another location of the village, Nightmare Moon has powders and liquids on shelves. She's very happy with this opportunity given to her. "I can get used to this."
