Author's Note

Time for another crossover story. This one is based on "Super Mario RPG".

1. A New Threat to Equestria

On a beautiful day in Equestria, Twilight Sparkle and her friends race through Everfree Forest. They took care to avoid the Poison Joke Flowers, and arrived at the Castle of Two Sisters. It was where Princess Luna was corrupted into the insidious Nightmare Moon.

"Are you sure about this, Twi'?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"I'm sure of it." Twilight replied. "While visiting Canterlot, Megan was suddenly captered by Chrysalis."

"Even without her hive and Changelings," Rarity figured, "this wicked creature is still dangerous."

Fluttershy shook with fear. "Poor Megan. She must be terrified."

"That bug eyed creep will pay for snatching our human friend." Applejack said angrily.

"Then, what are we waiting for?" Twilight said. "Let's go."

The Mane Six soon charged into the castle. Inside, Megan was tied up so she can't escape. Chrysalis looked at her with vicious delight.

"Twilight and her pals will soon be here." Megan said. "You don't stand a chance without the Changelings helping you."

"Perhaps not." Chrysalis boasted. "But, I have enough magical energy to defeat those foolish ponies. I don't even need other villains to help me."

Megan started to get nervous. Suddenly, the doors were knocked open courtesy of Pinkie Pie's party cannon. The Mane Six barged in and confronted their for.

"This is a new low, Chrysalis!" Twilight shouted. "Even for you!"

"Twilight!" Megan gasped. "Am I glad to see you."

"Don't worry, Megan. We'll handle this freak."

"Yeah." Pinkie chirped. "This meanie is outnumbered six to one."

As Chrysalis steps out to confront the heroes, she notices something different about them. "Where's your little dragon friend?"

"Celestia and Luna are watching over him in Canterlot." Twilight answered. "Your invading scared him silly."

"I maybe outnumbered. But, not out powered. With my transformation powers, you ponies won't stand a chance."

Then, just as the battle was about to begin, there was a rumbling heard. Something fell from the sky and struck on everyone in the castle, scattering them all over the place. Twilight recovered and saw a giant sword stuck in the middle of the castle. Twilight looked around for her friends, Megan, and Chrysalis. But, nopony was around.

At that moment, a voice was heard from the sword. "Twilight Sparkle, we are the Smithy Gang. We have come to conquer Equestria!"

"I don't know who you are," Twilight said, "but nopony comes to Equestria and push us around."

"Is that so? All of your friends scattered and ran away. And, so did that changeling. You best leave right now. Or, we'll get rough with you."

Feeling afraid, Twilight ran out if the Everfree Forest. Later, she found her way to her home of Ponyville. As she approached her castle, she saw Spike waiting for him.

"Twilight." Spike called out. "You're back!"

"Good to see you, Spike." Twilight said. "What are you doing back here?"

"Princess Celestia sent me. We learned that something happened at the Castle of Two Sisters."

"That it has. While me and my friends were ready to save Megan from Queen Chrysalis, this giant sword struck down and scattered us. I don't know where everypony went."

At that moment, Princess Celestia flew in to deliver some news. "Twilight, I'm glad your safe."

"Princess Celestia." Twilight gasped. "What brings you here?"

"I'm afraid this group called the Smithy Gang did more than just announced its arrival. Your friends of the Mane Six got so scared, they took off in different directions. Nopony knows where they went."

"What about Megan and Chrysalis?"

"Chrysalis flew away. Even she got scared of this Smitty Gang. As for Megan, she laid down on the ground when she saw a piece of brick from the Castle of Two Sisters. She used the sharp edges to cut the ropes that restrained her. Then, she ran off."

"At least we know she's safe." Spike said.

"For now." Twilight added. "What'll we do now?"

"First thing you should do is come to Canterlot." Celestia suggested. "I'll get some troops together to fight back against this Smithy Gang."

Celeste then flew off back to Canterlot. Twilight then turned to Spike. "You stay here, Spike. I don't want the Smitty Gang to come after you."

Twilight then took off for Canterlot. Spike watched with concern. "Be careful, Twilight."

The Princess of Friendship decided to take a long route to keep from any creature aligned with the Smithy Gang to get in her way.

I have dealt with a lot of threats to Equestria in the past. Twilight thought. Nightmare Moon, Discord, Chrysalis, Tirek, Sombra, The Pony of Shadows, and even Cozy Glow. But, this Smithy Gang is new to me. I just can't believe that they scared my friends away. These invaders will pay for this.

As Twilight arrived in Canterlot, she saw a shocking sight. It was a small plump white critter chasing a purple crocodile wearing a red hat. This croc has a bag over his shoulder.

"Come back here with my Grandfather's coin!" The critter called out.

"No!" The crocodile sneered.

Twilight was saddened by this scene. She approached this white creature as it was crying.

"Are you okay?" Twilight asked.

"No." The critter answered. "That bandit stole my grandfather's coin. I tried to chase him. But, he was too fast."

Twilight comforted this poor fellow." Don't worry. I'll think of a way to help you."

"Thank you." He replied. "My name is Mallow."

"Nice to meet you, Mallow. My name is Twilight Sparkle."

"Twilight Sparkle? The Princess of Friendship?'

Twilight gave Mallow a warm smile. "That's me."

Inside the castle, Twilight and Mallow has a talk with Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.

"Do not worry, Mallow." Celestia said. "I'd there's a chance to catch this bandit, Twilight here can help you."

"Thank you, Princess Celestia." Mallow said. "I'll be grateful to get my grandfather's coin back."

Luna soon approached Twilight with a necklace containing a white diamond. She then placed it on Twilight's neck. "This is a special necklace. It will let you call for one of your friends to help you in any way."

"Thank you, Princess Luna." Twilight said. "Now, where can we find this bandit?"

"There's a path near Canterlot called Bandit's Way. This character might be hanging out there."

Nodding to each other, Twilight and Mallow left the castle to find this thieving crocodile. But, what about this Smithy Gang? One problem at a time.
