The Spread

"I wonder where Twilight is." Wondered Rarity. All of the remaining ponies were starting to get worried. To everypony's surprise, there was a cyan coloured, worried looking pony pounding frantically on Twilight's library window. Fluttershy crept to the door and let the pony in. It was Lyra Heartstrings.
"OMIGOSH! WHERE'S TWILIGHT?! I NEED HER - NOW!" She seemed to be extremely stressed and she obviously NEEDED her. All the ponies frowned at each other, they were all thinking, well, how are we supposed to tell her Twilight's not back yet? How are we meant to tell her when she desperately is in need for her when she's not here?! Lyra breathed heavily.
"I... can't.....find.....Bon.....Bon.......any.....where." She muttered with uncontrollable breathing.
"Well... Twilightisgonnabebacksoonbutshe'sjustgoneouttohelpsomepony." Rarity said, as if she was speaking in gibberish.
Lyra understood everything. She wasn't meant to be upset.. But boy did Rarity make a BIG mistake.
"BON BON! WHAT IN THE WORLD AM I GONNA DO WITHOUT YOU!" She whimpered noisily, as the other ponies turned their heads and cried - they didn't want to be seen like that. Rarity's body was now overwhelmed with guilt. She thought what, what in Equestria have I done to Lyra? She didn't intend to hurt her feelings. She tried her hardest NOT to. But still, she had broken her heart. She had to fix this.
"Well, I-I can help you look for her..?"

Lyra was overjoyed and looked happier than she'd ever seen her before.
"Thank you, thank you Rarity."

At this point Twilight's shadow was walking around Ponyville - leaving trails of a dark, misty pathway behind itself. She wasn't a 3-dimensional figure anymore, she couldn't talk, all the noises she could make were mumbles and groans - but she still had feelings and memories. Minutes passed, and a weird thing happened - Twilight's body was overtaken by a strange GLOWING mist. All her memories vanished and her feelings did too - Twilight's shadow was pulled by the mist into another shadow pony - and the two shadows merged into a larger shadow.
