Fires raged all around a crimson mare crouched low to the ground backed into a corner. She was injured, various cuts, bruises, and scrapes littered across her body. A significant gash lay out across her flank, cutting the feather cutie mark adorning it in half. She panted heavily, eyes narrowed and swirling like the flames surrounding her. Her tail lashed back and forth behind her, a low growl escaping her throat.
"You're not going to seal me away!" she yelled, knowing that she was listening. "Even you can't stop me, goddess," she hissed, sarcasm in her tone as she spouted the last word. "No deity can control me!"
Despite her confident words, her eyes darted back and forth frantically without her realizing it. She was scared, though she'd never even consider admitting it. Soon, a white light appeared in the distance, steadily moving closer and closer. The mare's body, already tense and rigid, stiffened even further. Soon enough, she was standing there before her: a small white alicorn, staring at her with those pale, silver eyes that could strike fear into anyone's very soul with just a single passing glance.
"It is time for you to sleep," the diminutive alicorn spoke, her voice flat and monotonous.
"Like hell!" the mare hissed, gritting her teeth before suddenly pushing off the wall behind her to lunge toward the alicorn, weakened flames bursting around her. "I'll kill you before you lay a single hoof on me!"
The alicorn didn't seem to react at all, simply standing there silently, her gaze locked unblinkingly on the oncoming mare. Suddenly, chains of pure white erupted from the floor around her, arcing up into the sky before raining down on the mare, quickly wrapping tightly around each of her hooves multiple times to keep her immobile. A loud scream escaped the mare as she was caught so easily, wincing. She hadn't realized just how fatigued she'd become. She'd been fighting like this for days. Without a second thought, her form burst into flames hotter than even the sun itself, though it seemed the alicorn remained unaffected while the earth around them eroded away from the magnitude of the heat.
"I won't... let you take me..."
The flames surrounding her would suddenly expand and explode outward, leaving the alicorn unphased while the ground was destroyed further. The flames died down quickly enough, revealing a large Phoenix standing on its talons in front of the alicorn, its body wrapped tightly in those glowing chains. A loud screeching cry escaped its beak as it tossed its head back.
"You cannot escape. You have done many horrible things and must be stopped. Simply taking your powers away would not improve matters," the alicorn stated simply, studying the bird caught in her chains. "Is this not what you've wished for since your father harmed you?"
The bird's scarlet-red eyes narrowed sharply and its head swiveled to look at the alicorn sternly, squinting darkly. She let out a fierce caw, though it would be easy for the alicorn to understand her even in her true form like that.
Don't you dare act like you know what I fucking want! That bastard's got nothing to do with this!
The alicorn studied her silently for a long moment before pacing forward slowly, tilting her head forward to tap the chains with the tip of her long, pointed horn. As soon as she did this, even more chains exploded from the ground underneath the bird, swarming around her and wrapping her up tighter and tighter like a cocoon.
You'll pay for this! When I'm free again, you'll fucking pay, Radiant Void! Paragon's screams echoed through the chains as she was imprisoned in them.
Radiant Void watched silently as the chains would begin to burn incredibly hot, even too hot for Paragon's weakened body to handle. Loud, pained screeches escaped the chain-bound Phoenix until finally, a burst of light occured from inside the chain cocoon, followed by the chains being rapidly sucked in on themselves until that small light was the only thing left. It then solidified and dropped to the ground, pulsing a deep, fiery red color with a small white core. The alicorn's left wing moved to lightly pick up the orb--no bigger than a marble.
"Rest, and you shall be forgiven, Paragon Ire."
Radiant Void slowly lifted the orb to her mouth, swallowing it whole before turning and walking away, slowly fading and disappearing from the scarred battlefield.
