Everything was going his way. He had The Rock hurt in a bad way and he knew it. All he needed to do now was finish The Rock off. John had went to put Rock up on his shoulders for his finishing maneuver. But just as John had him up on his shoulders The Rock slid behind John Cena and proceeded to slide out of the ring. Just as John went to give chase he saw someone out of the corner of his eye coming down the entrance ramp. Paul Heyman, manager of one C.M. Punk. John was confused and annoyed at his arrival and went to confront Heyman. The referee intercepted John and demanded that he let him deal with Heyman. John then turned to see the man responsible for his downfall. C.M. Punk had the WWE championship belt in his hand and was charging at John Cena. John could do nothing but let his eyes widen at the surprise attack. The solid gold belt made connection with John Cena's face. He went down like a sack of bricks. C.M. Punk then bailed out of the ring and grabbed The Rock around the waist and tossed him back into the ring. The damage being done C.M. Punk then hopped the guard rail and escaped through the crowd. Heyman knowing the job had been done then left the ringside area allowing the referee to return to calling the match. When the ref turned back to the match at hand he saw The Rock was not only back on his feet but was standing over John Cena. The Rock then took off one of his elbow pads and threw it into the crowd signaling for his finishing maneuver "The Peoples Elbow". The Rock then ran torwards the ropes bounded off them, jumped over Cena's lifeless body and came off the ropes on the other side. The Rock then stopped and dropped the point of his elbow right in John Cena's heart. The Rock then covered John Cena with one arm and the referee slid in to make the count as the crowd counted along with him. "1-2-3!' the crowd chanted in unison. And it was over.
