Things Are Alive

The night air is cold against my body and I pull my hat down lower before adjusting my jacket. Manehatten isn't a place you would want to be after dark, but I have my reasons for being in such a dangerous city while dressed to impress.

DJ Pon-3 is at a club performing against Neon Lights it was a paring that was agreed on when we needed some reason to be in this dangerous town; this town that shows that crime still exists in Equestria.

The music from the club picks up and I can hear it out here on the streets but I can't go in and enjoy myself quite yet; can't see that lovely mare in her element I can only walk around these cold streets, waiting.

Then I saw it; somepony out the corner of my eye. I smile but don't give any other signs that I've seen them. It was one of those creatures that I had encountered from Ponyville a month ago; we finally had it.

I didn't tell many ponies about my plans only needing a small handful.

Then I felt that things breath on my neck; I almost laughed sending a sharp punch into the creature's muzzle.

It hit me down and I was stunned.

It was about to stomp on my neck.

Suddenly a blur of cobalt tackled that thing to the ground; even with her vision trouble she was fast and precise.

The creature tried to run but Lyra was ready using her magic to swing a two by four as a club.

It tried to run down the other ally but Bon Bon was there sending a sharp kick into it's jaw.

It's only chance of escape was behind me; I met it head on.

I was stronger and faster after my change.

I flipped it over and was pinning it before anypony knew what was happening.

"Doctor!" with my call Dr. Hooves charged from his hiding place with a syringe clenched in his teeth.

He forced the needle into the creature's neck and it started to writhe under my hooves.

It died and I let out a chuckle of delight "we finally got one of them" we had done it; Derpy, Lyra, Bon Bon, Dr. Hooves and myself did it.

"How about drinks on Vinyl tonight?" we all laughed walking in to the club where Vinyl was getting a brake while Neon Lights played his music.

She gave me a dirty look when I told her she was paying for drinks tonight but when she spoke she made sure everypony could hear her "that's fine, you'll just be working a little harder to earn them.

I went bright red and hit her shoulder hard "do you have to say it that loud?!"

She smiled at me and it reminded me of the day when I got my cutie mark.
