The Soul Reaper

CHAPTER ONE

THE SUBSTITUTE SOUL REAPER

  It was a dark, gloomy night. Everypony was asleep, and ponyville was calm. Everypony, but Fluttershy. She couldn't sleep, she had no idea why. She felt as if though somepony, or something, was watching her.

  The pink-maned mare looked around her dark and empty house, and decided to pass time by reading a book. She took one off her shelf. Make-out paradise Rainbow Dash had given it to her, but she hadn't read it yet. She decided to give it a go, what was the worst thing that could happen?

  Fluttershy turned to her door quickly. What was that? She asked herself. It sounded like a growl... She ignored it, and looked back at the book. She could feel something was wrong, but she had no idea why.

  She sat down on her couch and turned on a lamp. Three pages in, she heard loud "RAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR". She jumped, then started to shake. "W-w-w-what was that?!" She squeaked out.

  Fluttershy ran upstairs, then she hid under her bed. She closed her eyes and imagined something to help her calm down, but a large explosion interrupted her thoughts. She was pulled out from under her bed by a large hand, and came face to face with the source of the noise.

  The pegasus almost fainted when she saw the creature. It was large, and had a hole on its chest. It had on a weird mask, and had large teeth. She tried to wiggle out of the hand, but the creature had a tight grip. She bit down hard on it's hand, and the monster lost his grip on her.

  Fluttershy was falling, but her wings would not open. She was frightened, then closed her eyes. I'm going to fall and die. I need somepony to help me. The monster reached its hand out, trying to grab her. Help me! She tried to yell out as she neared the ground. Somepony, anypony! The monster's hand came closer.

   "HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!"

  A young colt appeared, and grabbed Fluttershy. He had on a black cloak, and was holding a sword. Fluttershy stared wide-eyed at him as he landed on the ground. "W-who are you?" She asked him/

  "I'm Ichigo Kurosaki," He said to her as he placed her down. "Substitute Soul Reaper."

Just then, another pony in a black cloak came. She had black hair "Ichigo!"

  "Rukia, Take care of her! I got the hollow!" Ichigo yelled behind his back. Rukia nodded, then picked up Fluttershy and flew away.

  "Who are you?" Fluttershy asked, confused.

  "I'm Rukia Kuchiki, I'm a soul reaper." She said, and then she looked at her. "Wait.. You can see me?"

  Fluttershy looked confused. "Why wouldn't I be able to?" then quickly added, "And what are 'soul reapers'?" Rukia looked at Fluttershy and sighed.

  "I'll explain later, right now we need to get you safe." Rukia placed Fluttershy on the roof of her cottage. "Stay here." Rukia said, then took off to help Ichigo.

  Fluttershy looked in the direction of Ichigo. His sword was as long as his body, and his mane was a bright orange. "I..Ichigo.." She said, "Are you sure you're going to be all right? The monster is really big!" Ichigo looked at Fluttershy, then at the hollow. "You're right, he is pretty big." He put both hooves on his sword. "And that's why he's going down!" Ichigo charged at the hollow, then jumped at it. He sliced it down the middle, and it dissolved into the air.

  Ichigo went over to Fluttershy. "Are you okay?" He asked as he helped her up. Fluttershy nodded, then said "What was that thing?" Ichigo looked at Rukia, they nodded.

  "The monster you just saw is called a bad spirit, also know as a hollow. It eats souls, such as good spirits. Good spirits are the ones you normally see, also known as a 'Plus'." Rukia held up a notebook of drawings explaining. "A soul reaper's job is too purify the hollows of their sins and send them to the soul society." Rukia looked at Fluttershy. "Any questions?"

Fluttershy looked confused.

  Ichigo said "Maybe she doesn't understand because of how crappy your drawings are-" Rukia hit Ichigo in the head with the notebook. "D-don't fight!" She said, "I understand perfectly!" Rukia sighed.

"I guess that explanation was wasted.." She pulled out a device.

"What's that-" A flash of light came from it, and Fluttershy fainted.
