This question, where do they go, isn't particularly easy to answer. the Earth governments have tried bugging childrens rooms with cameras. But in the power surge the cameras circuits are fried. Until one day they got lucky, a teenager named John was recording for his weekly vlog series on Youtube. It had been 3 minutes into the vlog when the song started playing. John just went along with it, he was a brony of course. When the flash happened, the video kept rolling. John had turned his camera to his TV which had been off for 3 months. and there was a portal. A portal to a place he wished to be taken there long before the show had stopped airing. That place was Ponyville, infront of the portal stood two alicorn princesses, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. The vlog dragged on for four more minutes. and at the end Celestias horn reached through the portal and touched John, then he began the quick transformation into a pony. He then stepped through the portal. then the video ended. Into the floor where his TV stand was was burned  series of symbols that read "Jaded Envy" which was translated using sort of a Rosetta Stone device left at a earlier kidnapping.
