//-------------------------------------------------------// G-Force: The Planet of the Ponies -by Gaius Stephanus Caesar- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Briefing //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Briefing In a small house far away from the bustling city, there lived a seemingly ordinary teenager, named Ken. Although he acts ordinarily like a teenager in the city, he is in fact a member and leader of the superhero science ninja team known as Gatchaman, or as commonly known, G-Force, judging by the small watch-like device strapped in his hand with the letter "G" implemented on the device's face. This team is a group of young teenagers whose goal is to protect the planet Earth from an intergalactic terrorist organization known as Galactor, who, for thousands of years, has attempted to take complete control of the planet's natural resources. Galactor, having been very low profile, managed to slip past any intelligence agency and in the process create destructive war machines that were intended to catch Earth's inhabitants by surprise and stage spectacular and destructive attacks on major cities. Despite these repeated attacks, they were increasingly frustrated by the continued intervention of G-Force, who were sent to investigate and combat the organization. But now, Galactor hasn't attacked the planet for days, and it seems the organization is taking a rest from doing assaults on Earth, for now at least. Ken was in the middle of reading a book on how to use airplanes, when suddenly his watch-like device went off. He took notice, stopped reading, and lifted up his device. A flashing red light could only mean one thing: somebody was calling Ken wasted no time and took the call, "G1 speaking." The call was from Dr. Nambu, board member of the International Science Organization and supervisor of G-Force, "Ken, this is Dr. Nambu. I want you and G-Force all in the Phoenix. I have a mission for all of you." Ken stood up from the chair. "Got it, sir." After receiving his orders, the young teenage rushed out of the house and to his plane in a small runway. After the starting up the engine and reaching the maximum speed, he lifts his plane off the runway and, after a few spiral tricks around the small airport, lifts up his arm in the right gesture and activates the device's special power. "G-Force! Transfooooorm!" With a huge flash from the watch, Ken underwent a spectacular transformation. His plane morphed into a jet-like aerial vehicle, thrusters formed on the back side of its tail, and Ken's numbered sports jersey turned into a white battle uniform styled after an eagle, with a cape on his back. Ken had turned into Ken the Eagle. After the transformation, he activated his thrusters to speed the jet up, eventually noticing G-Force's legendary ship, the God Phoenix, right above him. Ken wasted no time and immediately landed in the small docking bay of the Phoenix. Inside the large ship was the main base of operation for the team, with a large view screen serving as the cockpit. Radars, buttons, accelerators, and the lever responsible for enabling the Phoenix to "Firebird Mode", were all implanted in the pilot's console. The pilot in question is team member G-5, a fisherman's son named Rocky. Rocky noticed Ken entering the room and greeted him. "You made it just in time, Ken," Rocky applauded, "Everybody else has begun to arrive." At the same time, other members of G-Force began closing in on the Phoenix as well. Joe the Condor, G-Force's second-in-command and Dr. Nambu's adopted son, had arrived at the Phoenix with his lavish race car just after the ship lifted off from underwater. June the Swan, G-Force's motorcycle expert, and Jimmy the Swallow, an avid all-terrain driver, had also boarded the Phoenix before lift-off, and now the entire team was in the ship's cockpit. Suddenly, one of the screens on the console turned on, and a doctor appeared on the screen. It was Dr. Nambu, and he had a serious look as if Galactor had attacked the planet, even though they so far had no attacks this day. "Greetings, G-Force." Dr. Nambu spoke to the team, "Ryu has recently installed a new component on your ship." "A new component?" Ken asked, "What new component?" Dr. Nambu explained the new component, "It is something you will need for your next mission," He showed a picture of the new component on their ship. "I call it the Interdimensional transporter. This component will send you and other spacecraft to another dimension elsewhere in the galaxy. It takes almost a week for it to recharge to full power so you must be careful when you use it to go to another dimension, because you will be stranded there for a week!" Joe was confused about this component and asked, "Why would you tell Rocky to install an unneeded component that would potentially make us stranded in the universe?" Ken scolded Joe for his skepticism, "Joe, we're smart enough to know that the component is not to be used at any time. We will use if the need for the component is necessary!" Joe, despite being reluctant, nodded with approval. "Fine!" Dr. Nambu continued with his briefing, "You will be using this device for this particular mission. The International Science Organization has gathered some intelligence that Galactor has now planned attacks on an anonymous star system we are unable to find. We are not sure what specific system they are targeting, nor do we know how they are going to get to that system." The team had questionable looks on their faces before Jimmy gulped and spoke out, "Is Galactor expanding their sphere of influence to the entire galaxy? Does he want all of the planets' natural resources?" "It seems so," Dr. Nambu responded, "but we don't have enough evidence to back that claim up. We need to investigate the matter further." "Geez, it takes so much time for you guys to investigate everything," the obnoxious Rocky complained. "You will use the component sooner or later, but now I all want you to go on your patrol duties. Nambu out." After Nambu finished his briefing, the screen turned off. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: The Enemy's Ambition //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: The Enemy's Ambition Deep within the galaxy, there was a blinding flash of light that covered virtually the entire universe. This light was so blindingly bright that not even sunglasses could protect a person from getting his eyes blind. The light was perhaps brighter than any sun in the galaxy. It was more powerful than the mushroom cloud of an atomic bomb. The flash subsided to reveal the source of the flash: a massive warship the size of the Executor from Star Wars. The ship was coated with purple with a pinch of red on the ship's hull. It had massive, powerful thrusters that could help the ship jump from one system to another in half the light-years it would normally take. On the right side of the ship spelt the owner's name: "GALACTOR". Inside the ship, there was a large room that had control consoles all around the ship. Weapons systems, various transmitters, and a small self-destruct button that would only be pressed in an emergency situation, were inside these control consoles. Screens were implanted on the consoles, and, like the God Phoenix, were used occasionally to contact someone. These consoles were programmed and used by the army of Galactor, who were identified by their cat-like helmets and uniforms. These men, although very powerful when it comes to the number of them, were very gullible; they had poor firing accuracy with their guns, poor fighting skills, and could get into trouble with each other very easily. It kind of looked like this army was pretty much completely expendable. The commander of the army came into the control room. He was dressed in a red and black costume that looked like some sort of disfigured ladybug. He was very obnoxious and afraid, having known that commanders before him who had failed to carry out Leader Berg Katse's plans successfully were most likely killed brutally and replaced, if they weren't killed by G-Force that is. The commander had feared that G-Force would foil their plans before they could even begin. Thus, it was his duty to watch the space for any trace of G-Force finding them. Once Galactor's men saluted to the commander, he asked one of the main pilots, "Have you fired the vaccine missiles, yet? Was the program successful?" "Yes, commander," said the pilot, "The missiles detonated right after they were fired. I'm sure the entire galaxy saw that blast." "Well done, sergeant," said the commander, "This will be the first step toward complete galactic domination." One of the pilots stood up, and asked the commander, "But sir, what planet shall we attack? We can't just go back to Earth because of," he gulped, "G...Force." "We are not going back," the Commander rebuffed, "We will all stay in this dimension until we get orders from the great Berg Katse." Suddenly, one of the screens turned on and a person with a purple mask and costume with a red cape appeared and said, "I already have orders laid out for you." The commander turned to the screen with the masked person and bowed as a sign of respect. "Oh...y-yes, Master Katse. What are these plans?" Katse gave an evil smile and said, "I see that you have succeeded in distracting the entire universe. That bright flash managed to disrupt all communications on Earth and other planets. You aren't much of a bad commander compared to your predecessors." The commander laughed nervously and said, "Well, gee, uh.....thank you, master. Now what planet shall we raid first?" "For that matter, I shall consult the great Computor." Kayse replied. The screen shut off. Back in an unknown, mysterious planet, there was the main base of Galactor, located near a lava pool. This base was much larger than that of Fort Knox, and therefore had a much larger abundance of raw materials that mostly used to make large war machines with the intent of using them to capture Earth. Many of these war machines, however, ended up getting destroyed by G-Force before plans could go forward. Inside the base, Katse bowed to his master, an alien mastermind named Leader X. However, given his massive super intelligence above everybody else, his servant and most other people decided to call him "Computor", after the intelligence of a computer. Computor was in a very enthusiastic mood, "I have seen that your plans are going well. I feel we can finally succeed for once." "But master, we need to find a planet to take control of, first. We can't just go back to Earth only to deal with...." Computor cut him off, "I know,...but my intelligence tells me that G-Force had recently installed a new device on their ship that will transport them and any other ship surrounding then to another dimension. Perhaps they will help us with our plans." Katse had a confused look on his face but continued to listen to his master. "I have heard of a planet that has an Earth-like ecosystem, yet inhabited by strange creatures that most people on Earth would view as mythology. Its kingdom is scattered with natural resources that we can easily infiltrate the atmosphere and enslave the whole population, regardless of species." Katse asked, "But what are these species?" Computor responded, "They're magical ponies who teach the ways of this idea called....'friendship'." Katse bowed to his leader again and assured him, "O, great Computor. I promise this planet will be in Galactor's hands as soon as possible." "And remember, Katse," Computor concluded, "Should anything happen in this plan, should G-Force interfere with this matter, anyone who was involved in this plot, in any way, shall be destroyed immediately." "Yes, O great leader." After this consultation, Computor disappeared from the portal and Katse returned to his throne. Back in the ship, Katse again contacted his commander. The commander bowed to the screen. "Here is your plan, Lieutenant: You are to go to planet Earth and distract G-Force with an attack. I will tell you the rest, later." "Umm..yes, master." The commander said in a puzzled tone before Katse disappeared from the screen. "OK, men!," he shouted, "set a course for planet Earth!" //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: Panic in the Galaxy //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: Panic in the Galaxy That same night, Ken was in the middle of his patrol around the Earth when suddenly, a massive flash above the atmosphere covered the night sky. He was temporarily blinded yet he couldn't believe what just happened. "What the-?!" The flash illuminated the entire sky, as if the moon had suddenly began to impact the planet. Ken closed his eyes for a few minutes before opening them up again, only to look down below and see hundreds of civilians in the city panicking and fleeing. Ken had a stunned look on his face as he continued flying above the city. This is unbelievable, he thought, What could have possibly caused a massive supernova above the sky? His train of thought was cut by the beeping of his communications device on his wrist. He wasted no time and picked up the call, "G-1 here." Dr. Nambu's voice was heard, "Ken, this is Dr. Nambu. That big flash from the skies is causing a lot of disturbance in the planet Earth." "Could it have been some big supernova?" Ken asked. "The flash was too bright to be a supernova," Nambu replied, "It's possible something, or someone, caused that explosion. I want you to gather up G-Force and come to our secret base at once!" "Got it!" Without another word, Ken fled the city to get the rest of the crew. Near the city was an ordinary rocky canyon with a waterfall perched on the canyon's peak. Actually, this canyon wasn't that ordinary. A building camouflaged with the canyon's red clay color served as G-Force's secret base. It was camouflaged to ensure that nobody, not even Dr. Nambu's own International Science Organization, could find it. Both Nambu and G-Force were presently inside. Inside this building was a room the size of a usual conference room, except it had a huge computer screen with a complicated control console beyond explanation. The team members were sitting on the chairs of the long table, while Dr. Nambu stood up to explain to G-Force the situation. "I studied the flash a little closer," Nambu analyzed, "and I can tell that this was no supernova. It appears that the flash came from a pair of vaccine missiles that contained an extremely harsh amount of sunlight. "Enough to blind the victim instantly?" Jimmy asked. "Exactly, Jimmy. These missiles did not come from Earth because nobody on this planet has the technology to capture blinding sunlight from the Sun and use it as weapon. There had to have been some warship somewhere in the galaxy." Nambu rubbed his chin in a thinking mood as he explained. "And I thought sunlight could only blind the victim during an eclipse! Heck, we humans keep getting smarter and smarter and we end up with issues like this," Rocky complained. He barely managed to escape the blinding flash while he was in the God Phoenix during patrol, which may explain his obnoxious mood. "Something tells me this is the work of Galactor! I'm sure they had something to do with this!" Joe said in a rage. He was only a young child when his parents, who worked for Galactor, were killed by their thugs when they tried to leave the organization. Since then he's vowed revenge against Galactor for his parents' deaths. "We don't know, Joe, but I can tell this phenomenon isn't only affecting Earth, it's also affecting the entire galaxy and-" "The entire galaxy?," June quite rudely cut him off, "You mean other planets around the universe saw this?" "I don't really know, June, but I can tell the event will cause an intergalactic catastrophe unless we know more about this," Nambu spoke as he tried to explain the situation clearly. "Your assignment now is to go into the universe and investigate this matter. It's probable that Galactor may be up to something. In addition, your time component will most likely be useful for this mission." He bowed his head before he shouted, "G-Force, you leave at once for the Earth's atmosphere!" G-Force all shouted, "Roger!" The team rushed to the God Phoenix outside, and once Rocky took the pilot's seat in the ship, its engines ignited and the ship lifted off as it went to break free from the Earth's atmosphere and into the galaxy. Meanwhile, in Equestria, things were even grimmer. Canterlot's astronomers had a difficult time studying what had happened above the skies of their planet, and ponies from all over the kingdom were trotting on the streets, sending the kingdom to a state of panic. The worst hit from the panic was Canterlot itself, where thousands of ponies sought refuge inside the city's castle, and many guards complained that the castle could not hold as many ponies as it possibly can. At the castle's main hall, the royal princesses Celestia and Luna were hearing all the chaos going on in the room below them. They realized that the situation was much more serious than they originally thought. They couldn't believe how much panic the bright flash from the skies had caused. The castle's doctors came into the hall and explained to them the situation, "At least 400 of the ponies were instantly blinded by the flash," one of the doctors said, "but at least 670 more were blinded after the flash subsided." The princesses jaws fell after the report, but the other doctor assured them, "The blindness effects are most likely to fade by the next few hours." "There's got to be something behind this. You two go back down stairs and check on the refugees. My sister and I will investigate." The doctors bowed their heads before leaving back down stairs. Princess Celestia and Luna went back outside to the main deck, watching the chaos outside unfold. The princesses had never experienced an event like this before, and they were consequently unprepared for the event. Fear began to build inside Luna. She felt that what the guard told her was true and that a intergalactic organization was indeed planning to assault the entire universe, and that the giant flash was just the beginning. She began to cry. Celestia took notice and exchanged a worried look, "Luna? What's wrong?" Tears began to flow down from her eyes and to the ground as her heart began to ache. "Tia, he-he's right! We're all doomed!" "Luna..." "That giant flash is only the beginning! The organization is going to kill us all!" Celestia placed a hoof on Luna's back and hugged her with her wing, trying to comfort her. "Luna, we need more proof. You can't just think that some organization's going to get rid of us just because of a big flash. We need more information." Luna stopped crying and sniffled, turning her face to her sister. "But...but how?" Celestia began thinking, then suddenly the thought of her most faithful student and recently coronated princess appeared in her mind. Twilight..... //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: A Normal Night in Equestria...or is it? //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: A Normal Night in Equestria...or is it? Meanwhile, somewhere in the galaxy, in a star system far, far away from the solar system, there was a very similar system with a very similar planet like Earth, except unlike Earth, this planet had very different landscape: mountains dominated the earth-like land, and the plates were so stable that nearly no land broke apart from each other. It seemed like this was a perfect planet that had a perfect number of species like on Earth. That wasn't really the case. Inhabiting this planet were a various array of unfamiliar and mythological creatures that many on Earth had heard about in folk tales: dragons, griffins, sea serpents. The most prevalent and common species that dominated much of these lands were the same species that the humans on Earth had used for various purposes: horses. Unlike the horses on Earth, however, these horses were largely intelligent. They could speak like humans, act like humans, and even do nearly all the same abilities humans could do! What made them very special, however, was their separation of races that had distinguished them each other. One of these horses races had wings and could fly anywhere in the planet at the greatest speed, what humans call them on Earth are "pegasi". Contrast to popular belief, the size of the pegasi didn't matter for their ability to fly, and as a result they could achieve a maximum velocity enough to set off a sonic boom! However, only a few of these pegasi had ever achieved this goal, and those who could had a great amount of popularity across the planet. The other race are horses who had magical sharp horns above their head, what humans on Earth call "unicorns". These unicorns had the ability to use a wide array of spells that not even the smartest sorcerer on Earth could pull off. These spells ranged from simple tasks humans could achieve with their own hands, to spells not even a tough guy could accomplish, like carrying a large boulder. However, these spells were not always guaranteed to be used for good, and as a result had several occasions where it caused a great amount of trouble, with some nearly destroying the entire planet. Unicorns carefully researched their magic and began thinking smarter about it as a result. The area that was dominated by these horses, called ponies, was a massive kingdom called Equestria. It was comprised of many cities scattered all across the landscape, including a village surrounded by the Buffalo territory. The main capital of this kingdom was a city built on one of Equestria's tallest mountains, a city called Canterlot. In this city lies the monarchy of Equestria, a dual monarchy led by to creatures called Pegasus unicorns: Princess Celestia, a bright white mare who served as Princess of the Day, and her younger sister, Princess Luna, a dark blue mare who served as Princess of the Night. Judging by the symbols they had on their flanks, known as "cutie marks", their duty was to raise their correspondent stars each night and day. For Celestia, it was the Sun, and for Luna, it was the moon. It was a dark, cold night. The night sky was beautifully scattered with stars and constellations. The full moon was flashing with great luminosity, enough for even the smallest filly in Ponyville to see and smile at the beautiful star. It seemed as if everyone in Equestria could just sit back, smile, and enjoy the night sky as early as they could, thanking Luna for the stars. In Canterlot, the two princesses of Equestria were both enjoying the night sky outside the castle's main deck, where the telescope was. Celestia had a wing on her little sister, who shared a quick nuzzle with her. They sat back and watched the beautiful sky as the stars brightened with beauty. It was quiet for a while before Luna frowned and asked, "Tia?" Celestia lifted her wing and folded it as she heard her sister ask her a question, "Yes, little sister?" "Are we truly alone in the universe?" "Hmmm....," Celestia thought, "What do you mean by that? Is there something wrong?" Luna looked down, still frowning, and told her sister, "Well, I've been getting rumors from my guards that.....well.......some terrorist group in the galaxy wants to take over the universe." "What? Now who told you that?" Celestia asked, completely puzzled. "I don't know," Luna continued, "One of my guards just told me about that. He's says he's very good in astronomy and says that we aren't alone in the galaxy. It took him days to observe the galaxy with his telescope, and he concluded that there is indeed some organization want to control us all." She began to shiver in fear and tears began to form in her eyes. Celestia sighed in disgust. She had heard that Luna had been having bad dreams of the universe being enslaved by a group who's goal was to deplete the galaxy of its resources. The older princess grew worried that her little sister had begun believing that these revelations were true and that Equestria would be destroyed. The fallout from this enslavement would have been far-reaching for the planet. Celestia hugged her sister closer with her wings and nuzzled the younger sister in an attempt to comfort. "Luna," she whispered, "you need to remember that not all the things you hear and see are true. You've got to remember that." Luna looked at her sister, with tears still in her eyes and her frown still visible. "It's very difficult to tell what's the difference between fiction and non-fiction, but as long as you continue knowing that not everything is true, I am sure that guard will be wrong." Luna tears began to fade away, and her frown slowly began turning into a small smile, comforted by her sister's words. But their attention soon faded to the night sky, when suddenly, a massive flash appeared in the bright sky. The princesses felt this flash originated from the open space rather than the atmosphere. A rumbling explosion could be heard from the sky. "W-what's that?!" Luna shouted. The two princesses exchanged puzzling looks as the flash subsided. Nothing came out from the flash, but it certainly caught them by surprise. "I...I had nothing to do with that! I swear!," Luna pleaded to Celestia. "Don't worry. I know you didn't," Celestia assured her, "that flash might have been from the space and not the sky." Suddenly, a guard burst into the deck and shouted, "Your highnesses! Come quick! There's a commotion going on outside!" The princesses stood firm and nodded to each other. "We'll get right on it, captain!" Celestia said. Without another word, the guard and two princesses left the deck and back into the castle.
