Dark Legacy

Chapter 1: The Storm

It was a dark night and something just didn’t feel right. Twilight was awake and staring out of the library’s window from her bed. It had been three weeks ago when she was crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle and things were nearly back to normal. Still, sometimes in these past 3 weeks some ponies from all of Equestrian came just to see their new princess and to borrow a book from her Library. Twilight slightly giggled when she thought of these moments, because these ponies were hysterical and she didn’t want to be threatened different just because she was now an Alicorn.

These silent moments tensed up when she felt something as she stared out of the window. That feeling that something bad was going to happen rose inside of her. She jumped up when she heard someone at the door. She said to herself “Who could that be in the middle of the night?”

As she opened the door 2 mares stood there and she knew these two. It was Applejack and Rainbow Dash and they were terrified about something. Twilight could read that of off their faces.

“Sugarcube ya have to help us … “ Applejack said while trying to catch her breath.

“Yeah if we don’t act now, Ponyville is in danger” Rainbow added while looking at her tired friend.

“Girls, what is going on? Why is Ponyville in danger?” Twilight asked completely confused.

“You haven’t seen it?” AJ and RD asked in unison.

“Seen what?”

“Just look up to the Sky and not always in your books” Rainbow shouted.

“Okay I will overlook about what you just said but how should that help me understand what’s going …” Twilights sentence was torn apart in her throat. She couldn’t finish it because of what she had seen. Above Ponyville and the Everfree Forest was the biggest and darkest Storm cloud she had ever seen and they weren't moving in a natural way because there was no wind, not even a little breeze.

“What is that?” Twilight asked with a raised voice because as an unicorn she wouldn’t have felt the enormous magical Power within these clouds, but as an Alicorn she did and the shear amount of magical Power terrified her a little bit.

“We don’t know. Just that it isn’t natural and dangerous” AJ said “When ah was making myself a midnight snack ah saw these clouds and ah went to Rainbow's house to ask her if a storm is planned for tonight, but when I got to her house a Lightning Bolt hit it and...”

“Applejack, I could get out, that’s all there is” Rainbow said with an angry voice directed to Applejack because she didn’t want to worry anyone about the fact that she barely made it out before her house collapsed above her and that she was now homeless.

“Okay the storm is very dangerous but where did it come from?”

Twilight asked before a Lightning Bolt hit the ground only 6 meters from them leaving a big crater behind that looked like it would shimmer in the night but when the 3 of them walked towards the hole they were even more afraid of the storm because the Lightning Bolt was a magical lightning bolt that turned the walls of the crater to crystals and they remembered only one pony who could make crystals appear out of nowhere and that pony was ‘Sombra’ who should have been torn into pieces by the Crystal Heart.

Without wasting another second Twilight flew into the sky and shouted in the Traditional Royal Canterlot Voice, she learned from Luna and a book about ‘Being a Princess’ Luna gave her. The Traditional Royal Canterlot Voice was only in there because that book is a thousand years old. She giggled because she remembered when she first used it but she said to herself while shaking her head ‘Now is not the time to think about that. I have to focus.’.

"Ponies of Ponyville, Ponyville is under grave danger, everypony meet at the Town Hall"

With these words Twilight flew over Ponyville and repeated them over and over again until she thought that everypony should have heard her.  And she too flew to the town hall.

After a while the six friends Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, who brought all her critters with her so that they could be save, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Twilight met at the Town hall and made plans so that everypony would make it to the town hall alive. Pinkie, Fluttershy, Applejack and Rainbow Dash should search Ponyville and bring every pony to the town hall while Twilight and Rarity stayed behind to work on Twilight's plan to create a shield like the shield they saw at the Canterlot Wedding of her brother Shining Armor and Princess Cadence. The storm didn’t make it easy for them. Rainbow Dash got nearly hit by a Lightning Bolt but she managed to doge it in the last second and said “Phuu that …. That was more than close. If that would have hit me I would be done” She furiously shook her head and shouted “Don’t think about it, back to work!”

Not long after, Rainbow found the ponies and started to help them while more and more lightning bolts were raining down from the storm clouds. Rainbow had to land, the air was not save anymore. So they ran as fast as they could to the town hall.

Nearly there Twilight made the last preparations for a stronger spell than the shield spell in Canterlot but she couldn’t perform it alone even as an Alicorn. So she planned to cast it with the help of every unicorn in Ponyville as she saw Rainbow Dash with the last two Ponies coming to the Town Hall. She said to the Unicorns to start casting but a pink mare jumped up and screamed as loud as she could

“TWITCHY TAIL!!!”

Even Rainbow Dash heard that but because of the cream she didn’t notice that a Lightning Bolt hit a House and it was now falling on her.  In an instant a grey mare with a blonde mane pushed Rainbow away before the House could crash on her. The Ponies at the Town Hall saw this and the fear grew bigger and bigger. They all just thought ‘What if one of these lightning Bolts hits us here’ and some Ponies even said that they all should leave them there and just put the shield up.

Applejack simply turned to Twilight and the unicorns nearly shouting at them “Get that damn shield spell working ah’m gona get them here!”

Twilight just nodded as she and the unicorns started casting the spell.

“Now ah have to get them here” AJ said to herself.

“But you aren’t alone” two other ponies said.

Applejack looked to her sides and saw Pinkie and Fluttershy. She then took a hoof to her hat and said.

“Alright Girls let’s get going. Ah think they need us.”

Then with the hoof she had on her hat she stomped at the ground like a signal for the other two to start running, and they did.

“Thanks Ditzy, I owe you one” Rainbow said not realizing that Ditzy was not beside her. Then the terrible reality hit her, like a hoof to the face. Ditzy's back legs were stuck under the destroyed house.

Applejack, Pinkie and Fluttershy ran towards Rainbow who desperately tried to lift the stones away that buried Ditzy while screaming and nearly crying because this only had happened because she hadn’t been carefully enough.

“Don’t you worry, Ditzy, I'll get you out of here”

When AJ, Pinkie and Fluttershy reached Rainbow they saw that a brown stallion who had a Hourglass as a cutie mark finally climbed over the destroyed house and helped Rainbow Dash.  With the help of the new 3 Ponies they got Ditzy out.

Just when Twilight screamed: “Get back here the spell is ready and it is a one way spell. If you are outside when its walls hit the ground you can’t get in, so HURRY!!”

“We are coming” the Ponies shouted in unison. Running as fast as they could while carrying the wounded Ditzy. Right after the spell was casted and the spellwall was nearly close to the ground they jumped in and after the dust from the landing had cleared away, everypony saw that they had made it.

“By Celestia, you all made it. I’m so glad” Twilight said with a very tired voice and little teary of happiness in her eyes.

“Sure we made it. Did you ever have any doubt?” Rainbow asked while she put herself on her hooves again.

“But what about Ditzy?” Fluttershy asked.

“I think she will be OK” a voice said that came from a stallion that was looking at Ditzys legs. That stallion was Doctor Stable.

“I can’t tell for sure, because for that I need some things from the hospital but I think if we give her some rest she will be okay. It doesn’t seem that they are broken so some rest will be for the best.”

“Will you two take her into the Town Hall?”

“Yes Doctor” Nurse Sweetheart and Nurse Redheart said in unison and took Ditzy inside.

Dash was just repeating ‘Oh thank Celestia she is OK’ with Pinkie while bursting in tears of happiness.

Now they were save. Everypony looked around and saw how the Storm with its magical Lightning Bolts hit the houses, the trees, the roads and the shield. But the Shield was holding.

The six friends sat shoulder to shoulder in front of the sight that was before their eyes. It was such a destructive Power but they were save and that was all that mattered at that moment.

“I think we should go inside to everyone and send a letter to Princess Celestia to inform her what is happening here” Twilight said breaking the silence.

“Everyone else is already inside”

“No not everyone. We forgot someone” Fluttershy said when everyone walked towards the Town Hall. All five of them turned around looking confused at the yellow pegasus who just turned around looking at the center of the Storm to the Everfree Forest.

“We forgot Zecora” Fluttershy said turning her head back to her friends.
