The new virus known by the name of “Pony Flu” had made a massive outbreak, all through Equestria.

The first pony to become infected was none other than the dim-witted mail mare of Ponyville; Derpy Hooves.

She awoke one morning, feeling unusually sick, and sluggishly rolled out of bed.

“Ughh, I feel terrible...” Derpy groaned.

She dragged herself to the bathroom where she examined herself in the mirror.

She was shocked at the reflection staring back at her.

“Oh my... is that...me?”

Her face was a sickly green color, her eyes -usually googly- were straight and bloodshot, pupils dialated.

“What’s wrong with me?” She flapped her wings nervously.

Derpy decided it would be best to visit Nurse Redheart before anything get’s worse.

She stumbled into the doorway, vomit dripping from her mouth. “Somepony...please...help me...” Derpy was gasping for air. Nurse Redheart bursted through the door and grabbed the stumbling mailmare by the hoof. “Oh my goodness, Derpy? Are you okay? What happened?”

Derpy stared into Nurse Redhearts’ eyes. “...Something’s...happening...”

Her eyes slowly rolled into the back of her head and turned a disgusting, pungent yellowish color. “Derpy?!” The Nurse checked her pulse. "She's...dead?"

All of the sudden, as if on queue, Derpys' seemingly lifeless body jolted violently. Startled, Nurse Redheart drooped her to the floor. There was no other pony there at the moment.

"Derpy...are...you alive?" The nurse whispered slowly.

Derpys' eyes opened quickly and she grabbed Nurse Redhearts' hind legs. "No! Let me go!"

The Nurse screamed in terror, her eyes widened.

The zombified mailmare pulled Redhearts' leg close to her snout, and ripped out a chunk of muscle and sinew with her teeth. Blood squirted violently in all directions as the Nurse fell to the floor in defeat.

Derpy sat upright, chewing on the leg bones of the fallen Nurse Redheart. Blood was dripping from her teeth.

The nurses' eyes opened, revealing the frightening yellow eyes caused by the infection. She stumbled to her hooves, and shambled slowly out the doorway, as Derpy got up and joined her.
