Chapter 2: When there's darkness, there is always light

The sun's rays basked down onto the wonderful city of Canterlot, and more specifically the Canterlot Courtyard, where Celestia decided to take a leisurely stroll, to take in the almost overwhelming beauty of the gardens. She just took a normal walk down the beaten path, just like any other morning. The smell of fresh cut grass filled the air, the fountain spurted out clean water good enough to drink, and the wind blew silently against her side.

"Uh, Princess?" A pony came from behind her, causing her to turn around at the disturbance. She met the eyes of Captain Shining Armor, who had a very noticeable expression plastered upon his face. Something troubled him deeply.

"Is there something wrong, Shining Armor?" She asked regally.

"We've found something inside of the underground mines. We have yet to identify the creature, but it looks like it's been hurt badly." He explained, Celestia's eyes widened in surprise.

"Can you at least tell me what it looks like?"

"It's some sort of hairless primate, but I don't know the species of origin, it's currently unconscious at the time." He reported.

"Take me to it." She demanded.

As they both made their way to the area the creature was spotted, they noticed a giant magical force field, with the quarantine symbol attached to the side. Celestia's curiosity was way over the top, but she kept her composure as she neared the creature.

As she entered the bubble, it smelled of blood, Sulfur, and grime. As they moved closer, they saw the hairless beast lay there, no part of it was currently moving, all except for the upper chest, where it was visibly breathing. Celestia stood there, mouth agape, and couldn't say a single word.

"Captain, I want you to take this...thing to the infirmary immediately." Celestia looked on the ground, seeing multiple blood stains on the ground, slowly being cleaned up and taken in for research.

"I hope the public doesn't find out about this, it surely won't be good." She thought to herself, walking back into the castle along side the strange animal, being wheeled on a gurney to the infirmary.

"I want this place locked down and secured, and any of that thing's personal belongings locked up. I don't want the public hearing about this. Understood?" Celestia announced to the crowd of guards, they all held up their hooves in salute.

"Yes ma'am." They all responded at the very same time.

-Ponyville-

Timothy woke up breathing heavily, gasping for air as he shot up, instantly to lay back down. He grabbed his shoulder, seeing that it was covered in bandages, but stained with his own blood too. He rubbed the side of his head, trying to clear up his vision, because it was blurry and dark to him. Once his hand got into contact with his left eye, he felt something strange that was placed over it. He lifted it up and positioned it to where he could see with his good eye.

It was an eyepatch. The eye underneath was covered in a cotton bandage, but he could feel that his eye was still in there, luckily it didn't have to get removed, like his old friend Tom. Poor guy had to get his whole left arm amputated.

"Oh hey, you're awake!" Tim whipped his head around.

What he saw astonished him. A purple miniature horse, along with a horn attached to its forehead. He stood there, speechless as he gazed into the eyes of whatever that thing is that's standing there right next to him. All he could do was try to come up with a solution to this, because he could not believe anything with his own good eye.

"Either somethin' went wrong er I'm dead." He looked around to see if he could find any angels, though none were to be found.

"Y-You talk..." The unicorn blurted out, causing Tim to jump. He struggled himself to scoot himself backwards, calling for  help. No one answered.

"My word? Did you..." The unicorn nodded when Tim pointed to it, causing himself to start trembling.

Tim tried to unbandage himself as quickly as he could, trying to struggle free out of the bed he was currently in. The unicorn however, expected this, knowing that Tim would freak out when he woke up. So what the unicorn did was restrain him with her magic, and try to calm him down.

All Tim could do was scream, as well as yell. Tim was screaming and yelling as he tried to free himself from the invisible force that was keeping him down. Whatever held him down felt warm and squishy, but it was as hard as prison shackles. He grunted as he put more pressure to himself, some of his wounds opened up again, and more blood could be seen from the bandages.

"Now, don't freak out! I'm just as confused as you are!" Tim tried to struggle, though he was completely bound by magic.

"Let me go! Who- what are you?! Get the fuck off of me!" He yelled, struggling his hardest to break free of the unicorn's magic.

"If you calm down, I'll tell you!" The unicorn said, worried.

"O-Okay... whew, hold on. Let me try to catch my breath." Tim held out his arm towards the unicorn, who eyeballed his palm, and watched every. Single. Movement.

"Okay, now... What the hell is going on here?" Tim laid himself against the wall, and let out a deep sigh.

"Well, I'm Twilight Sparkle-"

"Wait, wait, wait, your name is Twilight Sparkle?" Tim couldn't believe a word she just said, so he did what he always did when he heard weird things. Tim burst out laughing, almost to the point where he was crying. Twilight watched him as he fell back into the bed, sprawled out laughing. He let out a moan of pain every now and then, but his laugher triumphed in the end.

"Whew, okay, I'm sorry for that, Twilight Sparkle *snicker*, please continue." He said slowly. Twilight nodded in return.

"I am a unicorn, and you are in Equestria, more specifically Ponyville." She explained. Tim let out little giggles in between while she was explaining.

"What are you exactly, some sort of miniature horse, with a twig stuck to your head? Or are you one of them polotical cartoon things I see posted on the town billboard?" Tim asked, causing Twilight to become very offended.

"I never got to ask, but, what are you? Are you some sort of hairless monkey that smells like they haven't bathed in weeks?" Twilight covered her muzzle, trying to avoid the visible stink lines that Tim was giving off.

"I am a purebred human being, miss. Though that last part you said was true, I haven't bathed for weeks on end. Though it would be nice if I could wash up."

"Bathroom's upstairs, make it quick."

"I am much obliged Miss Twilight Sparkle. Though I doubt I'll need it, since I'm already dead." Tim rolled his eyes, shrugging as he made his way upstairs.

"Spike, get those sheets off and have them immediately washed, I'm not going near that thing until it's cleaned."

"Yes ma'am, and by the way, I think it's a he."
