I've always been a My Little Pony fan. I don't know why but something about it just made me feel good inside. I always bought merchandise when I could and I always make sure I didn't miss any episodes. My daily schedule has always been wake up, get dressed, school, mlp:fim, homework, eat, mlp:fim, sleep. This schedule was me. It never gave me troubles... till a couple of days ago.. I had just got down watching a rerun of the show and went to bed instantly falling asleep, But when I awoke I was not in my room that I was accustomed to but somewhere different.
I was lying on my back and I reached up towards the too bright sun shining at me. I blocked it out and I saw my hand... or at least what used to be my hand. It was now a tan hoof. I freaked out and rolled to my feet... all four of them... I look down at the ground and saw my two hands had turn into hooves. I looked around and saw a lake which I quickly ran too to see my face. I closed my eyes and leaned over. I opened them to see a pony staring back at me. I was white coated that went well with my blue mane , which was the color of my normal human eyes, my eyes are a deep shade of green, and I seemed to have a scar running down my forehead towards my left eye on my forehead.
I couldn't think straight. So many questions ran through my head. I don't know how all that was possible but... with the world we live in anything is. I panicked, like anyone would, and started running around like a chicken with his head chopped off. I was just so frightening for some reason. I tripped and slammed my face onto the ground and I awoke from the dream felt like reality. I was panting and sweating. I mulled over what just happened in my mind wondering why i had such a dream. I shook my head of those thoughts figuring that's what happens when you have a schedule like mine. I went through my regular schedule like I do except I didn't watch the show before going to sleep. I really did think that would fix everything.
I fell asleep that night and woke up running. I don't know what I was running for by my instincts told me to run. I was looking around and a thought ran through my head. Where is he!? I didn't know who he was but I figured he was important. I stopped as I ran out of the forest as a bright light blinds me. I was at a cliff that over-looked a waterfall.
"Hey you stop!" I heard someone yell behind me.
I immediately jumped off the cliff slamming into the water jolting me awake. I woke up screaming that morning. The dream really scared the crap out of me like no other. I thought maybe if i stopped watching the show all together everything would change... well... it didn't... I just couldn't believe my luck. I still can’t. Different dreams like that plagued my mind every night for two weeks. I started seeking help by the end of the first week and they said this war normal… Well… The last dream I had… is the one I’m still in.
I was floating when I first fell asleep. A voice had rang out to me asking me if I was okay. I didn't know how to respond to that. I mean I didn't know where I was at all so of course I told her I wasn't. She started telling me how things would be okay and that I would finally make peace with myself and all this other mess. I stopped listening after a while thinking that something would happen like all the other times and I would just wake up and move on with life. She told me to pick a color that would determine my coat. Not liking any of the other pre-set colors I chose brown. Then I was allowed to pick my mane color which I chose a mixture of red main and orange tips. I was then told to pick what type I wanted to be. I was stuck between a earth pony and a unicorn. Maybe if I trained myself I could become strong like an earth pony and still cast magic. I chose unicorn in my best interest.
Next I had to pick one item of five. A book of spells, a necklace that had a cross on it, a bag full of nothing, a tool belt filled with different type of tools, or a guitar. I mulled the items over and figured I could buy the first four and not sure if I would ever find the fifth so I picked the guitar. It floated to me and strapped itself around me where it rested on my back.
“Your life is now set. Go out and make something new of yourself.” The voice chimed making me feel all warm inside.
I was blinded for a second and then I opened my eyes to see the town of Ponyville just below me. I couldn't believe this. I figured after that light I would reawaken in my bed and my life would continue unhindered. I could still feel the weight of the guitar on my back so I was glad I was how I created. I walked down the road towards the town waiting for something to happen to knock me out of this dream. Nothing did. So I walked straight in town. Some of the residents stopped and looked at me. Maybe they were curious who I was or they were wondering what the item on my back was. I didn't know where to go. I stopped in the park and took off my guitar and set it beside me. I didn't know what to do.
I started mulling over my thoughts about all that had happened before this dream and I figured they were all test to lead up to this. I nodded my head at this most likely reason and looked at my guitar. I had always been fan of the guitar. I started wondering how I would use my magic. I figured now would be the best time to try. I focused my will onto the guitar making it want to float. To my surprise it actually worked and I put it in front of me. I started thinking off a song I could just strum and chose “Your Beautiful.”
I closed my eyes and let the song flow through my body as my magic played the strings and the music filled the air. I didn’t realize it, but a crowd started forming around me and I actually started singing which I’m still embarrassed about. After I was done with the song I got a applause or at least something similar to an applause as everypo… everybody started stopping their hooves on the ground or actually hitting their hooves together to make a clopping sound. My first immediate thought was Where the hell did all these people come from?
“Uh thanks?” I said wearily.
I was too sure what everypo, dear lord I’m becoming one of them, everybody thought of me but I was hoping that it was a good thing. Everyone got up and started thanking me for my song as they split apart. Then she came up. Twilight Sparkle. The purple sometimes level head pony of the main six. I could believe it. It was like a dream come true.
“That was a nice song you played there.” She said to me.
I couldn't help myself. I wanted to say thanks but I just kind of stumbled over myself. She laughed kind heartedly and asked me who I was.
“X.” I said so used to everybody calling me that back at school.
“Just X?” She asked probably because one letter names are not used here.
I nodded my head not sure if I would be able to carry a conversation with her.
“Ever been in Ponyville before?”
I shook my head which put a big grin on her face.
“Alright let me show you around than!” Twilight said motioning for me to follow.
Well, she showed me around Ponyville and I got to meet each and every one of the main six. The first one I met was Pinkie Pie who jumped me out of nowhere. She joined us on our tour making snips and comments every so often about a certain building or pony. Next we meet Applejack who was with Applebloom selling apples. Applejack gave me a few free apples for my first time here. Applebloom ran off talking about some cutie mark crusaders which led me to look at my cutie mark. It was a question mark. I’m still wondering what that means too. Next up came Rainbowdash and Fluttershy who were hanging out together at the nearby swimming hole. I got to know them some before heading off to Rarity’s but finding out that she is not there and will be in Canterlot for a while.
I felt very pleased about that rejoicing to myself not really wanting to meet her. I than met Mayor Mare and she set me up with a great home in Ponyville. I was given a one floor house that had a ton of room. It already had the basic set up of a bed, kitchen, and living room. I had two big rooms I could do anything with. Twilight had left me to get situated after getting my brand new house but later returned to chat some more. We began chatting up about Ponyville and what I thought about it. Since I didn’t want to spill any of the knowledge about them being on a show I asked if she knew a place where I could learn spells. She told me about her home is the library and how I’m welcomed there anytime I feel like it. After a long conversation she left my home and I yawned realizing how late it had gotten.
I went to bed and quickly feel a sleep where I woke up in my human form. I quickly got up and started writing this. I fell asleep in reality to go to a dream… or I woke up from a dream and returned to reality… That’s what led me to this. I figured that if I wrote down what happens than I might see a pattern and figure out what happening to me. I will figure this out and save my sanity.
