Sorry. I forgot to introduce myself.  I am Heat Horn, a crimson unicorn with a mane that resembles a flame. I am also a mage that was once in the battle of the Crystal Empire… but that’s another story. So, anyway, it was a regular day in Ponyville and I was strolling down its quiet stone clad streets. As I passed the shops, I noticed Rainbow Dash, a cyan Pegasus with a brightly colored rainbow mane, darting off to Twilight Sparkle’s house – in quite a hurry too. “Hey Rainbow Dash, where are you off to in such a hurry?” I said as I realized that the only way I was able to keep up with her was because of the Speed Spell I used on myself to catch up with Pinkie Pie. “Oh, Heat Horn it’s you! I’m on my way to Twilight’s to see the ‘new invention’ she’s been talking about. Want to come?” “Maybe later, Rainbow. I have to see an old friend – someone whom I have regretted to meet for a very long time…” I said as I slowed to a trot. “Ok, but promise you’ll come later,” Rainbow said, looking at the clock. I looked at it too realizing it was just 8:00 AM. I dismissed the incident and continued walking down the road to my friend Robo-Hoof’s house. I knocked on the door three times. “I’ll be there in a second!” a voice called. Seconds after, the door opened. “Ah, Heat Horn, it’s you. It’s been a long time since you have visited. Not since you asked me to join the personas in the journey to the Crystal Empire to defend it from the changeling attack a year ago,” Robo-hoof, a robotic Pegasus whose wings are that of an Alicorn’s said, welcoming me in to his and Fluttershy’s cottage. Fluttershy was a butter yellow Pegasus who seemed to have a big liking for animals. “So Robo-Hoof, how’s life been ever since the battles have stopped, hopefully permanently,” I asked. “Life’s been great especially with my new company, Fluttershy,” he said to me as his wings began to unfold. “It’s nice to see you happy with her,” I said. Then suddenly, there was a voice from the second floor. “Uh… Robo-Hoof? Are you um, with someone?” the small voice half-whispered. “Ah, Fluttershy, you’re home after all!  So how have you been all these years?” I asked her, remembering how long it had been since I had talked with her face to face. Of course I kept in touch with the occasional letter, but this time I was actually able to see her. “Oh, Heat Horn, what a pleasant surprise. I didn’t expect Robo-Hoof to have any guests today,” she said, going down the stairs. “So anything new, Fluttershy? You know, with you and Robo-Hoof?” “Oh there’s not much to say. It’s been quite natural recently. Nothing interesting has been happening, right?” she said to Robo-Hoof, approaching the table with drinks for the three of us. “Things have been great, especially with Robo-Hoof around.” “I heard Twilight was working on another invention and wants you to check it out.” I lied to Robo-Hoof, but it seemed to convince him. “I’ll go, but first let me clean myself up,” he said, walking up the stairs. “Heat Horn, I’ve been wondering, where did Robo-Hoof come from?” Fluttershy asked me, thinking I would know. She was right, but I just replied, “Why don’t you ask him yourself? I mean, he does know everything about himself, right?” “I guess.” she said. “I’m ready Heat Horn, let’s go!” a voice came from the upstairs, revealing to be a squeaky-clean Robo-Hoof. “Ok, bye Fluttershy,” I said as I accompanied Robo-Hoof to the door and exited their cozy cottage. edited by paige winscott //-------------------------------------------------------// The Invention //-------------------------------------------------------// The Invention As we strolled down the streets of pony Ville in a bright sunset we suddenly felt like we were being followed and decided to give our follower a run for his/her money and booked it to twilights house *pant* *pant* “were here finally” I said to my friend “at least we lost it… I think” he said back not even fatigued… we went in the house only to find that twilight was not home… or so we thought suddenly spike, a purple dragon with a rather small size, came out of nowhere and said “Hey if you guys are looking for twilight she’s upstairs working on her new invention…again” he said seeming a bit annoyed “Ok thank you spike” I said looking at how tired he was after a long day with twilight “Let’s go Robo-hoof we have a task here remember?” I said looking at my companion “Ok I’m coming…” As we walked up the stairs I saw rainbow dash and twilight, a purple unicorn with incredible magical powers and also the prodigy of princess Celestia herself staring over the invention of hers. As I came closer twilight finally broke the silence and said “So you did make it and… you brought some pony else?” she said turning her attention to us “Well, yes I did I figured that he may want to see what you were working on” I said turning to Robo-hoof “Well both of you have a seat and have a look.” She said giving us pillows to sit on “Thanks twilight now let’s see what yo----…” I paused I saw a half assembled robotic pony just like Robo-hoof but instead of a pegasus he was an earth pony “This is just so awkward looking at another one of my kind and in this condition… let me help finish him.” Robo-hoof said as he leaned in closer on to the metal platform on which the invention sat. “Well Robo-hoof I guess you two will be working together for a while eh?” I said looking at the both of them. “I guess” they both said in unison as I walked of back home as it was already 3:00 in the afternoon “*sigh* well I guess I have to get back to my paper work” I said to myself remembering that I had a job in the royal palace staff and that I had to fill out the forms in 3 days’ time “wait! Wait!” a voice called out from my side “Huh?!” I whispered to myself as I spun around to look at who was calling. It was apple tree, an ivory mare earth pony that had a black mane and tail who was also a friend of mine, came running towards me and said “Your shipment of apple cider will have to be delayed by about a couple of days is that ok?” she said with a worried look on her face as she came up beside me. “It’s fine I’ll just check in every now and then” I said reassuring the mare that I wouldn’t get annoyed at the news. “Ok thank you heat horn” she said looking at me relieved. “Well I guess I’ll get going” she said turning away to walk back to sweet apple acres, the farm that her and her family had been working and living on. “Hold on a minute would you like to stay a bit… you know for some cupcakes maybe?” I said looking a bit sheepish. “Ok then I think I’ll stay for a while I could use a break from the usual apple bucking on the farm you know.” She said, a tired look creeping up on her face. “So let’s go to sugar cube corner maybe pinkie pie is home” I said pointing to the curb nearby. “Ok that sounds good. Let’s go!” she said looking back at me. As we went to the bakery we were approached by pinkie pie, a pink earth pony with a slightly darker shade of pink for a mane, even when talking to us she had not stopped bouncing as she continued towards the bakery she said “what can I get the both of you?”  She said as we were entering the doors “I’ll have a rainbow frosted whole wheat cupcake please” I said taking my seat in the moderately filled dining area of the bakery “I’ll have a sunflower sandwich please” apple tree said as she took her seat. “Okey-dokey-lokie” pinkie pie said galloping off to the kitchen. As she was preparing the food we told stories of events that had transpired when either of us was not present. As time went by the sun began to set and we both left and went our separate ways. //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Companion //-------------------------------------------------------// A New Companion As the day came to an end I couldn’t help but wonder what ever happened to twilight and Roby (a nick name I gave Robo-hoof). As I slept, the night went by uneventfully and there was really not much that happened at night in pony Ville. This was mainly because they had no machines in their time but they made up for this with the abilities to control both weather and abilities of magic. So my thoughts pondered on that one subject the night went by. “*yawn!* well I guess its morning already…” I said with a groggy voice as I walked down the stairs of my house into the lower level filled with scrolls and other artefacts that I was going to sell. “Hmmm… I have to check my calendar…” I went to go and check my calendar that was hanging from the kitchen wall. As I approached I could see no events written for today. I walked outside for some fresh air and saw Roby franticly running across the street and I decided to follow him…but not before breakfast I thought to myself heading towards the kitchen stove ready to cook. “Well let’s see here… It looks like I have nothing planned for today levitating some bread, eggs and bacon to their respective cooking equipment, the toaster and the stove in that order. As I started to make breakfast for myself I heard a knock on the door. “Ok ok hold on I’m coming.” I said walking towards the door as I opened the door I saw a familiar but unexpected and stressed face… “Hi twilight…what happened to your hair and your eyes their bloodshot?!” I said as I let her in half-expecting her to colapse on the door mat as she walked in. "So twiligt care to explain your condition?" I said as i sat her down next to me at the table. "Oh ok then it was just me and robo-hoof in the laboratory when sudenly we had a break through... the robopony we were building moved and actualy spoke to us but what it said i couldnt tell but robo---"  she said being cut of quickly "Let me stop you right there for a moment you can call robohoof, roby instead" i said slightly annoyed "Ok then sorry, any hoof  it then lied back down and deactivated but roby seemed to know what had happened and ran out side and was heading to fluttershy's
