Prologue (meet the characters)
PROLOGUE
Being the story of my life so far ,i would like to thank everybody who has chosen to read this because it is important for me to share this story . I hope you understand that my characters do not have the actual names (including me ) as the real people but the events that are mentioned took place at the time and location that is said..
Having all that said i think it is time i should introduce you to the characters , main and not so important .
Family
Mum : Victoria One of the most loving / lovable people on this planet . She can sacrifice herself in order to please others but she can also be very stubborn and stupid.
Dad : Francis Good , kindhearted .He can be loyal to one without questioning their devotion.Mature and childish depending on the situation he has made many mistakes but he has promised to himself and others he will make up for them.When he has a target he is devoted to completing it no matter what so he has fairly developed the reputation of being devoted to his cause and of having a strong will. I spent loads more time with him when i was little so we are more bonded.
Me : Moyra – Angel : Stubborn , an ego but also kind , loving , rational . I also have a very strong will and I'm a natural fighter in the battle field of life.
Granny Nanno : Margaret(mother of Francis) Also loving , caring .We only recently managed to bond but still i feel she needs to be mentioned.
Grandad ( father of Francis ) : A daemon that has always been haunting dad. He was a terrible father and grandfather as he left my granny alone with six children ( one is my dad and the rest are one uncle ,four aunties).This time i will mention his real name since i don't even know if he still is in Mexico or he is dead.His name is Micheal ( turned it into Miguell ) and I an the only grandchild out of the twelve of us to meet him.
Granny Moyra (mother of Victoria ) : Stubborn , she believes that people should do what she says. Not only that she loves to manipulate people and control situations. Unfortunately she managed to make me love her when i was young but as i grow up i get to dislike her. My mother listened to her for a long time and as a result she has made many mistakes through the years.
Grandad Nicholas (father of Victoria) : Mutual , he never expresses his feelings yet he loves to argue for the sake of arguing. Moyra loves to call him a nut case in front of other people.
Friends of mine:
Daniel : Born an optimist he never sees the downside of life. He is extra imaginative,talented and caring. He can sacrifice himself for you but he wants to know you will do the same.Well i think it is also important to say that he is my best mate .
Ronnie : King of the geeks , a real swat you cannot be friends with him unless he thinks you are intelligent enough. We are good friends but i dont think i can say something else about him.
Patrick : A softie , he came to our school from a private school in London. He is an easily likable person with loads of understanding.He is a shopaholic and in non uniform days he wares Armani. Dan used to be jealous of him cause he thought we were flirting.
Animals
Harry , the dog : I have no brothers or sisters but i have this dog which i love with all my heart. It can be lovable but you can hate it . But no matter what he will always be loyal.
Hope, the pony :Appears in my dreams , she has been there for the good and the bad always guiding me to the right choice. We have always been best friends .
Rational , the owl : She has always lived in granny Moyra's garden .I Love her because i believe she is my guardian angel and you will see why ... later on. Not only that i think she is my grate aunt Jan who helped my family a lot.

Chapter 1
(Why do you want us to leave ?)
1997.Brooklyn, NY. All that you could hear from the inside of apartment 17b is shouting however this time it is worse than ever. But who are the residents of this apartment and why are the arguing ? They are Victoria O'Connell and Francis McIntyre,my parents.
It all started in the kitchen , over which a dark cloud of silence had fallen,when Vicky decided to break the silence by talking to him. She had been thinking about it ever since she found out that.... she was pregnant but then she was hesitating , after all he should of learned it before her mother.
Screw it tell him now said her gut and so she did,''Honey , can you please sit down ?'' ' Why?' he asked with a quizzical look in his eyes.''Because....no , forget about it''she replied then cursed herself coward ,idiot but somehow she knew he would insist on knowing which is exactly what he did ''tell me I want to know because I want to tell you something too.'' ''OK I go first mm m....I'm pregnant and I want to go back home'' she muttered hopping he didn't hear a thing. Little did she know.....
Then out of no were he started cursing and and shouting without making sense .There was nothing she could do but agree with him until ,what she called his tantrum , ended. When he was calm again he took a deep breath ,sucking all the air from the room,then cleared his throat to announce it .''I suppose you give me no choice '' he muttered in a very disappointed tone.''What in the name of god does that mean ?''her response was immediate.''It means I have to turn down the fucking offer to stay here, turn my masters degree into a PhD which would lead to working for the university''This time he was something in between yelling and crying. She literally took cover by ducking under the kitchen counter.
Three deep breaths ,silence once again for a few seconds then she stood up all 5 ft of her with a serious look in her eyes.''I told my mother before you ''.That was it now you could see his black eyes flashing.''It was her idea that you return to the Republic ? I will kill the bitch'' words coming out of his mouth so quick one would of thought they were bullets from a mini gun.''Do not call my mummy a bitch she just wants ME &YOU to go and live with them and I totally support her'' ''Why the hell ??'' now that could be heard from California.''Because.... look at our life I mean this is no apartment or neighborhood to raise a child and I studied a teacher and they are not planning to give me a job in the near future.''
Bullshit he thought to himself if you wanted anything would be doable you just want to go back ,coward.''Say something '' you could see the desperation in her face. Still nothing. Asshole , your ego is drowning me this was her time to think what she felt about him at the time.''She booked tickets ,if you want you can stay '' the room froze from her tone. ''Now is this some love test ?? Of course I'm coming , I mean you are pregnant to my child and I am mot my father to let you go''he sounded calm and loving.''Do you mean it ? What about …?''she tried really hard not to sound pushy.''I don't give a damn , when are we arriving , we have to set a wedding date !''he said whilst demonstrating his teeth by smiling a big smile.
''Hold your horses cow boy we are leaving in three days ,after all we do not have much packing to do '' my she was so pleased he heard her light laughter under her voice as she atured the words.''As for the wedding we can wait until our child is born.'' she announced in a quite girly /bossy tone. Both yawning then they muttered a ''I'm tired, lets head to bed'' at the same time. As soon as their heads hit the pillow the both dose off hugging each other.

Chapter 2
( The last days in the U.S )
She woke up to the smell of roses, maple syrup and pancakes."But wait, what's going on here? It's not Sunday so its not the neighbors" she declared in a sheepish tone.Then she turned to face the alarm clock 11:20 the big red letters said making her automatically think she had overslept even though she knew she had nowhere to go.
Then as she stumbled along to the bathroom she remembered yesterdays discussion which brought to mind she did have work to do." Fuuuuk "she muttered as she turned the hot tap to enjoy a morning shower she considered inevitable to start her day without one.Five minutes later wrapped up in a towel she staggered to the kitchen to find Francis waring an apron ,standing over a frying pan making pancakes.At first he didn't notice her so the feeling of a wet body that smelled of soap pressed against his back seemed weird.Before he could think , turn to face her or say something she started .
''Morning baby ! What time did you wake up ? Why are you here? Thanks for the breakfast i really appreciate it!'' Maybe i over did it with the questions she thought to herself. '' OK is it my turn to talk now your Highness ?'' did i really want to sound sarcastic he reconsidered his words.After a few moments of awkward silence she left . " Damn you asshole of course you sounded too ..'' he sighed as he poured more coffee to himself .
''No, you sounded exactly the way you should of sounded if you consider my words ! So i think we ought to start again . Good morning honey how are you ?'' she explained.'' Lovely , thank you very much . Now ,I have a meeting with my professor in two hours and i believe it would be unfair if i left you without making you breakfast , which is what i did''he gave her one of his big smiles.''OK sweetheart I'm grateful BUT have you had any yourself ? Is there something I can do for you ?'' she flashed one back. "No absolutely nothing , the only thing you are going to do for the next nine months is rest to deliver a healthy baby for us'' he exclaimed in his most serious voice.
''Oh forget that ! I am not going to let you pack all our stuff by yourself , it would be ... more than unfair . After all I'm only some weeks pregnant I'm not disabled for gods sake" she whined in a offended cat tone.''No, you forget what you have in mind.And can we please stop arguing over such a tedious matter ? I have to have a shower , get changed and get going'' he told her in his most bossy tone of voice.''Yes sir '' of course they both knew she was lying even as she spoke.
He slowly walked towards the bathroom thinking of what he would tell the professor. Then undressing as quickly as possible he hoped in the shower and turned the tap . A cold blast hit his face but he didn't notice it as he had other things in mind.''No I'm not going to disappoint him after all it is a master '' he mumbled under his breath even though his brain was shouting quit it don't try to excuse yourself for giving up.But his heart was screaming''No you will not become like him you bastard , you listen to me!'' and so was he.
She was scared to.... approach him.''H..honey ? Are you all right in there ?'' she hesitated.No answer, Go in there she commanded herself .She did only to find him sitting his back pressed on the back of the shower cabinet , face in his hands ,sobbing like a baby.First thing she noticed was the temperature of the water''Goodness gracious, you will freeze yourself to death dear'' she remarked whilst turning the hot tap.After a minute or so he stepped out and allowed her to wrap a towel around him and hug him just like his mother used to.''Sh.. everything will be just fine if you want it to be '' she sounded like a mother .''Yes i do , i promise i will never abandon you'' still sobbing .''i know''she assured him.They both meant what they said.
As if nothing had happened he walked to the bedroom,got dressed and was out of the apartment within seconds.Keys in his hands he unlocked the door of the dustbin on wheels he called a vehicle.Two minutes later he was on the highway heading for the university and Armstrong's what a wonderful world was playing on the radio.''Nice song dude but not for me not for today anyway''he sighed as he switched off the radio.
So many thoughts floating around in his head that he failed to notice he was almost 10 miles over the speed limit and as a consequence was being chased by a police car.When he finally realized he pulled over.''Morning Sir '' normally he the rich northern accent would of echoed in his ears.''Sir ? License and Registration '' the officer commanded.''Oh yes, sorry I ,well no they are not at the house,here you go !'' he replied hoping only here you go were heard. But little did he know....''Have you been drinking ?''the cop asked gently.''No sir'' he wanted to say more but remembered what his instructor had told him''When you are asked this question reply with a yes or a no.''
Before saying or doing anything the cop scanned the interior of the car.Then he spoke''Well Mr Francis McIntyre i would like you to step out of the car,come here and take a breathalyser test '''. He obeyed but he was feeling uncomfortable having those eyes examining him. When it was all over he was asked if he knew the speed he was going at which ended with a speed ticket.He of course apologized and took off.
''Shit no i can pay the thing today so why mention it to Vicky''. He almost missed the turn for the university.''Ooops ''he exclaimed as he swerved to take the turn. Within a few seconds the car was parked,locked and he was walking through the university door feeling like an Oddyseus approaching his own Ithaka.He sighed then knocked on his profesors office door ready to face the remaining challenges.
''My dear mr McIntyre! How are you today !'' the supervisor always called him a mr and the respect they had for each other could not be hidden.''Fine,thank you!''he felt he was about to betray this man.''Well,let us sit down,get to some bussiness and oh ? what about some coffee?''prof.Johnsons words.''No thank you . I will not take a lot of your time,I just came to make an anouncment.'' he declared.''Wow so you have come to a decision ? The right one i hope since you deserve it.''a bright smile growing on Johnsons face.''Sorry but my wife is pregnant and we will be returning to her country Ireland so no I am unable to continue''he pealed the bandaid fast.
''No, I will give you anything you and your new family will need just stay!'' he sounded almost desparate.''I am terribly sorry sir'' he needed to leave.''Come here son.''they were both crying.''Open your wings and fly, good luck in Europe!'' After that he left and closed the door behind him,mixed feelings in his soul.
