They came,
They saw,
They pooped all over the place.
It was a nice sunny day in Ponyville, everything was perfect and sweet as it could be. Peachy. As it was a Sunday, no mail was delivered. That meant that everyones favorite pony didn't have to work today, that's right, Rainbow Dash. After all, the pegasi of Equestria didn't have to worry about moving the sun around. That was their omnipresent, benevolent ruler/demigod princess Celestias job.
Rainbow Dash was sleeping (as usual) in one of the many trees which make up the Sweet Apple Acres, One does wonder why she never seems to eat the apples instead of sleeping around them or why the supposed "fastest flier in Equestria" tends to be lazy. But today her rest was well deserved, she had used her free time to help her friend Applejack at the farm. Not by picking apples, but things like painting the fences, washing the carts, and calculate the taxes.
They had just finished up the work for today and Rainbow had barely had time to get comfortable when suddenly, the sky turned dark. Somehow, Rainbow Dash noticed it while sleeping and awoke from her slumber. As she turned her head to get a better look above, her eyes met with a huge pile of shivering Fluttershy crashing into her. Both of them fell out of the tree onto the ground, apples raining down on their heads.
"Fluttershy! What are-"
Rainbow Dash got interupted as yet another pile of apples lands on her multicolored head, causing her to bite her own tongue and look very clumsy in the process, she tired to shake it off and spoke again.
"Wab aw you doing?"
That should be TRIED to speak, Fluttershy got up one her hooves and grabbed her friends hooves with her own, uhh, front hooves.
"Oh, Rainbow, it is just the WORST. POSSIBLE. THING."
Rainbow Dash considered this to be some sort of prank, what with Fluttershy acting like Rarity and the grabbing of the hooves and all. But she was a bit confused after waking up like that and didn't care that much.
"What? What happend?"
"Oh, it's just AWFUL, I was feeding the bluebirds when suddenly their cousins came along and we all had a nice long chat with tea and sandwiches I made earlier that morning with cheese and that tomato Pinkie and Rarity helped me buy at the market from that sellerpony, did you that he used to-"
"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!"
Fluttershy became quiet for a moment and soon became her normal, shy, quiet self.
"I-I just came to tell you that the birds from the south are coming back."
"So what?"
"They aren't happy."
"So they are angry birds?"
"Yes, and they want revenge."
Rainbow Dash froze up for a moment, the memories of what the birds could do when they were mad came back to her.
"Bu- but why?"
"Remember the Winter Wrap-Up from three years ago?"
Rainbows mind flashed back to that day, the ponies of Ponyville were to say the least, without planning. It became harder to prioritize the diffrent duties and in the end, spring ended up being late that year. When the birds came back, they were outraged, swore their revenge and flew back south again. Never to be seen again, until today.
"Yeah...?"
"They said they're going to make sure we never forget to make that mistake again."
"But we finished up Winter Wrap-Up earlier than ever this year, there's no reason for them to be angry!"
"I know, but they are still mad and they won't listen to reason, they just keep saying the same thing over and over again."
Rainbow Dash swallowed hard and barely got the question out of her mouth.
"Wh-what?"
"They just keep saying 'we're gonna show you a thing or two'."
A cold feeling crept down Rainbow Dashs spine, that's EXACTLY what they said before the left, but this time it felt much eerier, maybe because of the way Fluttershy said it.
"So, what are we gonna do?"
"Well, I thought I should go and warn all the others first and then hide but if-"
Fluttershy stopped in the middle of her thoughts and stared at a fixed point behind Rainbow Dash. Her pupils shrank.
"They're here."
Rainbow turned her head around and sure enough, the birds were coming over the horizon of the Everfree forrest. She quickly turned her attention back to Fluttershy who had disappeared.
"Fluttershy?!"
But she was gone, Rainbow quickly began to gallop towards the apple farm and started banging on the doors.
"Hey AJ! It's me! Open up!"
But there was no answer, as she stopped her banging, it became clear that the surroundings were darker then before, almost like it was night.
Rainbow looked up, in the sky was a sea of diffrent kinds of birds, sparrows, finches, ducks, mockingbirds, pelicans, eagles and so many more. They flew in diffrent layers, in perfect unison so that the sky cannot be seen. The birds circled around Ponyville like a vulture, which also were part of the group. The scariest part of all was that all the birds were silent, not even a single squak or a song.
A small white speck of poop fell down from the sky and landed on a cart standing by the many baskets of apples, it had just been cleaned a few hours ago.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
Rainbow Dash voice cracked as she screamed out her words.
"YOU MANIACS, YOU RUINED IT! WHY?! OH, DEAR LUNA WHY?!
The birds flew away, making their respective noices as they made their way home. When they were all gone, a single seagull remained in the sky.
"Haw haw haw haw......"
