//-------------------------------------------------------// The Right Timing -by Zul_Rage_Mon- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// 01 //-------------------------------------------------------// 01 Dash had been miserable for the past few days and just wanted to be left alone still, but thanks to Pinkie Pie she now had to go to her ‘Newly Single’ party. ‘Yay, now everyone can know now.’ She thought sarcastically to herself, ‘Whatever I’ll get drunk and at the very least I’ve earned that much.’ She pulled on her jeans and found one of the shirts her sponsors had given her, just in case someone’s taking photos besides friends of course, and headed out the door to Ponyville’s only bar. This was one of the great things about Ponyville, no distractions and she could focus on training. It happened to be an added bonus that she’d meet, what were her now, five best friends in the small town. Pinkie Pie, in a bright pink top and black skirt, had of course arrived ahead of everyone else and gotten a secluded table away from the other patrons. Upon seeing the rainbow streaked hair Pinkie Pie bounced up from the table and embraced Rainbow Dash in a hug. “Oh Dashie, I’m so sorry. You where way too good for her and don’t ever think otherwise.” “Thanks Pinkie,” Dash said returning the hug. “When’s everyone else showing up?” “Rarity is running a little late, she had an order to finish, but everyone else should be here soon.” Pinkie Pie took a picture of her smiling and hugging an indifferent looking Dash. “First rounds on me, what do you want?” “I’ll ease into the night with an IPA and we’ll save the shots for when everyone’s here.” Dash said trying to pick herself up. All of her friends were taking time off from their busy lives just to come cheer her up, and since they could barely get all of them together for very long she should be happy they arranged this for her. “Super-duper.” Said the always joyful girl and turned to head to the bar. Rainbow Dash pulled her into a surprise hug before she was out of arms reach. “Seriously Pinkie, thank you.” “You don’t need to thank me Dashie, we’re best friends. Now sit back, relax and get ready to have some fun.” Pinkie returned the hug and pushed Dash into the direction of their table as Applejack walked in wearing her usual red flannel, jeans and her Stetson. Shortly followed by Twilight wearing a dark purple light sweater with matching jacket and skirt, with Fluttershy who was dressed in a similar manor but minus the jacket and had a heavier sweater on, in shades of a yellow cream and light pink. The trio placed their orders with Pinkie Pie and went to join Dash at their table. After the hugs, the usual supportive apologize to the recently dumped and a drink Dash had started to feel better about coming out for the night. Of course they all wanted some inside information about the breakup which Dash was refusing to give up; she knew Rarity would eventually pry all of it out of her but hopefully not tonight. That was the last thing Dash wanted was to be drunk and crying in a bar. So when Rarity did eventually show up, wearing a stunning but simple dress, Dash sped over to her. “Hey, first thing we’re not talking about the break up, got it?” Dash said cutting off Rarity before she could say anything. “Got it, but I am sorry.” Apologized Rarity giving Rainbow Dash a hug. “Thank you, secondly you’re buying the first round of shots.” Replied Dash returning the hug to the fashionista. “Ugh, can’t I get at least a drink before we go to the shots?” Rarity whined. “Yes we can because you’re also buying the next round for being late.” Dash smiled at her. “Fine what am I getting for everyone?” “Three pitchers.” “THREE! You’ve got to be kidding me, Dash.” Rarity half shouted at the exuberant cost of her tardiness. “Yeah, I guess I’ll just go back being all by myself. With my single beer…single like I am now.” Said Rainbow Dash as depressed sounding as she could be. Rarity let out an exacerbated sigh, “Very well then, three pitchers.” “You’re the best Rare.” Dash said and flew back to the table. Rarity heard her say, “I told you I could get her to buy three pitchers.” And the table erupted with laughter. XXXX Dash woke up feeling the spikes of sunlight driving into her skull and groaned. Stumbling out of bed she headed to the fridge first and grabbed a can of coconut water wishing it came in IV form before heading to the bathroom. She looked herself over in the mirror and didn’t notice any new bruises. She didn’t remember what time she got home let alone when she’d stopped drinking. Trying to unsuccessfully collect what’d happened over the night, Dash laid out her supplements and take them slowly. When she got to the fish oil her body decided to reject everything she’d taken in. Thankfully the toilet was right next to the medicine cabinet and Dash throw up the contents of her stomach. “Oh, what the fuck? Jager? I hate Jager.” She commented to herself before returning to bed with her coconut water and laptop from the living room. Logging on to Facebook she saw that Pinkie had, of course, uploaded photos from last night. Dash was tagged in 73 of them. She began to flip through them the first thing she noticed was you could literally watch the amount they’d each had to drink by noticing the pitchers and glasses. Laughing at the photo an extremely embarrassed Fluttershy order blowjob shots from the bartender, something they forced her to do and other pictures of them hugging and laughing, and solo pictures of them posing around the bar. Rarity chasing Pinkie Pie around after Pinkie accidently spilled a cranberry vodka on Rarity’s dress. Applejack and her having a dance off, then her arm around AJ at their table, AJ teaching her how to line dance, her teaching AJ some hip hop moves, AJ whispering something into her ear but something really stood out in that one. Spitfire had been in the background of that one and had clearly noticed her. ‘She doesn’t look too happy…Good. Fuck her,’ thought Dash. Then picked up her phone to see if she’d gotten a text or phone call from her but she just had one text from AJ saying she’d be over that night. Dash honestly felt a bit depressed not seeing anything from her ex. She’d been laughing a moment ago now felt all alone again. Trying to distract herself she returned to the pictures and felt her heart start to drop out. The next picture was a close up of AJ and her, Dash with her fingers brushing against AJ’s chin and the two staring into each other’s eyes, but the bad part was Spitfire in the background with a look of pure hatred on her face. The next one was even worse. AJ and her were kissing and in the background she could again see Spitfire only this time she could be literally seen spitting fire at them, while a couple of their team mates held her back. Dash flopped back onto her bed. She was still conflicted about Spitfire which is the reason why Spitfire had left her or in Spitfire’s words ‘need time for [Dash] to figure out what exactly [they] were.’ Dash slowly started to sit up in bed realizing that she hadn’t even thought of the kiss she shared with AJ. She started to quickly go through the pictures left and just saw one after another of AJ and her kissing, then making out. Dash checked to see if Pinkie Pie was friends with Spitfire, which of course she was because she was Pinkie Pie. Grabbing her phone she dialed Pinkie who picked up right away. “Morning Dashie, have fun last night?” Pinkie in true Pinkie fashion didn’t sound tired or hung over. “You need to take that album from last night down now.” Dash demanded skipping pleasantries. “Why, I thought we had fun?” Pinkie said sounding hurt. “Look who’s in the background of 48.” Dash said naming the one of Spitfire freaking out. “Oh no!” Pinkie Pie sounded shocked and worried. “And you two are friends on Facebook.” Dash said in a rushed tone. “Oh no!” Pinkie Pie sounded even more shocked and worried. “And they get worse. So take them down. NOW!” Dash screamed into the phone “Y-yeah Dash.” Pinkie sounded on the verge of tears and scared. Dash sighed, “I know you didn’t mean to do this Pinkie. But hopefully Spitfire didn’t see-“ Dash was interrupted by a knock at the door. “I gotta go Pinkie, someone’s here, and seriously it’s okay. I’ll be by Sugarcube corner today. I need to drown myself in some carbs today.” Dash answered the door to see her coach Soarin standing there. “Is Spitfire here?” He asked walking past Dash into her living room. “Celestia, Dash you look like hell.” “Ugh, sorry coach.” “You don’t have training today so I don’t really care, but you do smell like you slept in alcohol. I hope she’s not in the same condition as you Dash.” Soarin warned. “I don’t know, coach, she’s not here.” “Well she didn’t show up for training and she’s not answering my calls and she’s not answering her door and I guess she’s not here…” Trailed off Soaring waiting for Rainbow Dash to help him out. “…” Dash let the awkward silence last not wanting to talk about it to her mentor and trainer. “Spill it, Rainbow, both of you are acting weird.” Seeing as the first tactic didn’t work Soarin tried the direct approach. “We kind of broke up.” Said Dash finding something very important on her carpet to look at. “Mmhmm.” “And she kind of caught me making out with someone last night.” Dash had to admit to Soarin. “I’m not interrupting anything, am I?” Soarin dropped his voice down to a whisper with the implied intent of leaving instantly if he was. “No it’s just me here.” “Okay good, now gimme you’re phone.” Dash didn’t hesitate and handed it over. Soarin went through her contacts and called someone she guessed Spitfire. Dash heard shouting before Soarin interrupted. “It’s not Rainbow Dash…take the day off.” Soarin handed back her phone. “Well she’s pissed. Look I’m going to give both of you the week off to calm down. I’m not expecting you two to make up in any shape or form but to just cool off a bit. I can’t have my fighters falling apart on the mat and hurting themselves or more importantly someone else.” “I’m fine, coach.” Soarin gave her a deep look. “Okay maybe not fine but I can keep going.” “Dash,” Soarin dropped his tough coach persona gripping Dash by her shoulders and looking her in the eyes. “Take the time off. It’ll help you out mentally which means you’ll be able to focus more when you need to. I like the heart you’re showing but you don’t have a fight coming up, and do you honestly feel like you should get in the ring with anyone right now? Who would it benefit? Not you certainly. Now if you need anyone to talk to please call me any time of the day or night.” “Thanks Soarin.” “Now go have an Irish breakfast,” The tough demeanor returned. “For Goddesses sake it looks like you could use it and a fucking shower for that matter.” “Yes, sir.” Said Dash. XXXX CUTIEMARK CRUSADERS ROAD CONSTRUCTION! YAY! “How about cutiemark crusaders….something quiet I don’t know?” Rarity asked the three before they ran off to cause mayhem. Rarity turned to Applejack, “So?” “Whatda ya mean by so?” Applejack wasn’t in as bad of shape as Rarity partly because Earth-people were tougher but also because she drank a lot of water and Big Mac let her sleep in. “You know exactly what I mean,” Rarity replied giving AJ an all-knowing look. “You, um, remember that?” “Some but the photos Pinkie Pie had posted for a bit helped jog my memory.” “Pinkie Pie…” Applejack grumbled, “Well Ah guess the cats out of the bag. I think?” “You think? That’s not really like you AJ; usually you’re more sure of something before you make a move.” “She kissed me,” AJ tried to defend herself before Rarity gave her another look. “Ah might have encouraged her a bit.” “Spill it, darling. We both know Apple Bloom knows how to get here by herself.” “Well like Ah said Ah encouraged her and we kissed and made out. She sent me a text inviting me over tonight at like 4am and Ah told her Ah’d be over. That’s about it.” “You keep saying encouraged her, how exactly did you encourage her?” “Ah might have said that Ah welcomed her back into the datin’ pool…” Applejack said blushing brilliantly, while Rarity waited for the true confession. “And Ah might have said that Ah was her…welcome back present.” “…I did not see that coming.” “Well Ah was drunk and she was also. Ah was just tryin’ to make her feel better is all.” AJ said defensively and clumsily. “Everyone knows you’re terrible at lying and that wasn’t trying to make someone feel better.” “Ah might have said she was the prettiest girl Ah’d ever seen.” “I’ll just make this easy for you. You like Rainbow Dash.” “Yeah.” “Well that wasn’t so hard to admit. Really AJ for someone who’s known for her honesty you should at the very least be honest about what you want.” “Fine yes Ah like Rainbow Dash, a lot.” “And your worried she was either too drunk to remember anything or you’d just be a rebound for her.” “Yeah exactly, so what do Ah do? Ah couldn’t stand to just be a rebound but Ah need to do somethin’ after last night.” “I would say also a healthy bit of concern about Spitfire would be a good idea also.” “Shoot, Ah forgot she saw us.” “Well I wouldn’t be too worried at least until she’s less devastated. She really put her name to use.” Both girls had a light chuckle before they both scolded themselves. “Seriously though they dated for, what, 6 months? It’s not to terribly long but they were practically inseparable. Did she say anything about why they broke up?” “Nah, but we really weren’t usin’ our lips for talkin’.” Both girls laughed again before an unsure silence fell. “Text her to find out what she’s planning tonight, say you need to dress accordingly.” It was AJ’s turn to give Rarity a look of disbelief, “You know what I mean.” AJ: So what r we doin tonight? RD: I don’t really feel like goin out again. Movie? “What’s she saying?” Rarity asked in full gossip mode now. AJ: Whatdaya wanna watch? “Back off girl, Ah’m tryin’ to talk.” “You’ll screw it up, let me help” RD: W/e you feel like “Like you screwed it up with mah brother?” AJ realized she’d gone too far, “Ah’m sorry Rarity Ah shou-“ Rarity grabbed the phone out of AJ’s hands and ran giggling to her bathroom while AJ gave pursue. “-ldn’t have trusted you.” AJ finished while Rarity managed to out run AJ and lock herself in while AJ banged on the door. AJ: anything ur in the mood for? RD: something fun AJ: well I know just the fun thing ur looking for then RD: awesome just what I wanted to hear AJ: I’ll bring some drinks over you know hair of the dog and all that RD: might as well I cant train for the next week AJ: oh no  did something happen between u and Spitfire RD: no Soarin wanted me to take some time off to collect AJ: well don’t u worry AJ will make it all better RD: lol sounds good come over @8 “Rarity Ah’m going to knock this door off it’s…” A phone slid from under the door quieting the angry girl. Rarity opened the door to find AJ sitting down going over the texts. “Answer your questions?” “What movie am Ah goin’ to take over?” AJ asked distracted as she went over the texts again and again. “The movie doesn’t really matter at this point. Just take over something at the very least a bit interesting just in case. You just need to play it cool and she’ll let you know when she’s open. It’s Dash after all if it isn’t a punch she telegraphs it.” “Thanks Rarity, sorry about sayin’ you screwed things up with mah brother.” Rarity slid down the wall next to AJ, “its okay.” AJ wrapped her arm around her, “Ya just made a fool of yerself. Ah don’t know how yer always so calm but get so nervous around Mac. He’s one of the least worrisome people Ah know.” “I started to laugh like a little girl then snorted like a pig and farted at the same time when he asked me how I was doing.” “Yeah, that’s plum embarrassin’.” XXXX Dash put her phone down and returned her attention to Pinkie Pie. “Well she’s coming over tonight to watch a movie.” “Are you and AJ dating now?” Pinkie asked on the edge of her seat with excitement. “I-I don’t know. Well I mean last night we made out so we’re not dating right now, but I don’t know if that’s where we’re heading. Spitfire and I just broke up like 5 days ago and I don’t know if I have everything sorted out with her.” Dash sighed and focused on her cupcake for a moment. “Well do you like her at all?” Dash hadn’t even thought about it until now. There wasn’t anything that she could think of about Applejack. She was literally an amazing woman, but they’d been friends for 3 years. Those three years were something Dash wouldn’t ever want to lose. “Of course I like her she’s one of my best friends but that’s could also be the problem. I would never want to hurt AJ and if we dated that could be the end of our friendship.” “I don’t think it’s up to you if AJ gets hurt in this case. If she’s really into you and you reject her it could end your friendship even without you two dating. It’s not a great position to be in but maybe if you let things just happen and talk to her about where you’re at emotionally right now. If things head that way. Besides you like her so take the chance.” “I never said I like her.” Pinkie pulled out her phone and showed Dash the picture of them about to kiss, “You didn’t have to say it.” Dash was looking at AJ with her guard completely down. A mixture of lust, curiosity and complete trust crossed her face with a hint of vulnerability in her eyes. AJ on the other had a look that only someone in love could give to their love, telling her that she’d be her rock. “I need to go,” Dash said abruptly and left. XXXX Dash was pacing back and forth in her small living room. She didn’t have much furniture because she was rarely here and mostly just used the place for sleeping, but she did have a flat screen TV and a loveseat. Dash gulped realizing she just had a loveseat for the two of them. Normally it wouldn’t have mattered but after the previous night it felt a bit to intimate for her. Going to her room she grabbed the pillows and blankets and set it up in a manor on the floor to let them rest their backs on the loveseat but giving them a bit more room between them. Right as she finished she heard the knock at the door who could only be AJ. “Hey,” Rainbow Dash said opening the door to reveal the farm girl. “Hi Dash,” AJ said and the two shared a moment of awkwardness, both thinking about the previous night. “What am I doing? Come in. So how’s it going?” Dash asked ushering in AJ and taking the beer she brought over and headed to the fridge to keep it cold. “Good, Ah’m feeling a lot better from this mornin’.” “Yeah same here. Last night was…fun.” Dash kicked herself mentally for bringing up the previous night already. “Ah recon it was.” AJ smiled and both prayed the other didn’t bring up any more of that night. “So what are we going to watch?” Dash asked bring over a couple of beers and sitting down on the floor. XXXX Dash woke up with a start to the menu screen on repeat in the middle of the night. Originally she’d stretched out with her feet on AJ’s lap but AJ was now lying next to Dash on the floor and an arm wrapped around her mid drift. Dash rolled over which accidently woke up AJ and the two looked at each other. AJ looked down at her arm holding Dash against her. “Sorry.” AJ started to move it when Dash placed her hand on her forearm. “No it’s-it’s nice.” Dash said drawing AJ’s eyes back to hers. AJ knew how tough Dash was but it was something else holding her close to her. All of Dash’s muscles were toned to perfection, not bulky but more lithe but still strong, and not an ounce of fat on her body. AJ felt a bit of jealousy about the last part, not that she was considered fat in any shape or form but her body was made for farm work so it was healthier. Their gaze settled for a moment before AJ finally decided to do something about it and started to lean forward. Dash seeing the initial move returned the action embracing AJ’s mouth with her own. The two lips meeting for a moment then pulling away and the two looked into each other’s eyes again making sure it was okay. Dash attacked AJ’s mouth and pulled her into her. Their lips parted and tongues meet entwining around each other, moving from mouth to mouth. AJ began to run her hands up Dash’s sides and around her back to Dash’s wings gently playing with them. Dash for her part continued to pull AJ into her breaking their kisses to give little gasps of pleasure. AJ slid her hand up Dash’s shirt cupping one of the fighter’s smaller breasts and pinched her nipples between her fingers before starting to remove the shirt. Once it was off AJ took off her flannel and removed her bra giving Dash a view her larger breasts. Dash began to knead them while AJ started to kiss her neck and give little bites in the areas she picked up as more sensitive and started to work her way down to Dash’s tits. Dash groaned out in pleasure as AJ took one of her nipples into her mouth and began to suck and gently nibble on the hardened tip, tugging slightly. “AJ.” Dash breathed out. AJ decided that was the queue to end the foreplay and started to lick and kiss her way down Dash’s stomach. Letting her hair tickle Dash’s body as she moved her way down, her hands where busy at work undoing Dash’s pants. “AJ please.” Dash moaned out AJ gripped Dash’s pants and panties and began to slowly slide them off intensifying her kisses and licks. Right as she was about to get to her prize Dash’s legs locked up and flipped the farmer on to her back knocking the wind out of her. Dash quickly got up and redid her pants before realizing AJ hadn’t recovered yet. AJ gasped in some air, “What the hell Dash?” “I-I’m-I’m sorry AJ are you okay?” Dash asked in a concerned voice sitting down next to AJ. AJ sat up, “Seriously Dash, what the hell? Ah thought we were about to have some fun?” “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to hurt you.” Dash said tears stinging her eyes. “Ah was more taken off guard than hurt, but Ah think Ah need an explanation.” AJ demanded. “It’s not you I promise.” Dash said. “It’s Spitfire.” AJ rolled her eyes. “No.” “Oh so it’s ‘not you it’s me’? Got it.” AJ fumed getting up and grabbing her shirt. “I’ve never….you know.” Dash confessed. “So your tellin’ meh that outta everyone Ah’ve seen ya date over the past three years you’ve never once had sex?” AJ asked in an unbelieving tone. Dash just nodded tears finally breaking the surface and silently streaming down her face. “Holy shit, yer tellin’ the truth.” AJ said realizing how much of an asshole she’d just sounded like then returned to her spot next to Dash. “Ah wish Ah knew sooner. Then this wouldn’t have happened like this.” Dash continued to cry silently until AJ pulled her onto her shoulder. “It’s ruined every relationship I’ve ever had. I want to do it but it’s just never felt right. Spitfire left me because of it. She said if after six months of dating because if I wasn’t ready by then then what was the point. She told me to figure out my problem.” Dash by then had broken down into sobs. AJ pulled her close and rubbed her back. “You don’t have a problem. Yer makin’ a very adult decision about yer body and when you do decide to have sex,” AJ picked up Dash’s head by her chin. “They're going to be the luckiest person in the world.”
