I'm your average teen that is fresh out of high school. Now I'm going to describe my looks. Not that they are important. Any ways I'm about 6"1 and about as skinny as a skeleton despite weighing 200 pounds. My hair is natural brown but I've dyed it blue for no reason whatsoever. It goes down just past my shoulders, as it has since I was 6. This being why my nickname through ever grade up until grade 11 was "The Girl". Yea I know ain't it original. The name Tyler also didn't help my there. Great, now I'm off track, back to my looks. My only defining feature (Other than my hair) is my eyes. While most people have brown or blue eyes, mine are magenta. Why they are like this I don't know but it does earn me quick a few compliments as well as a lot of bewildered looks. But that's enough about me, for now. Now for a short history lesson, which will contain very important details sooner or later. So, currently it is the year 2031 and just 19 years ago scientist made an amazing breakthrough in studies to deal with DNA. They had successfully merged human DNA with the DNA of an eagle. This lead to the successful merging of human and fish DNA. So by 2014 we had 3 sentient species on Earth. You following? Good here's where it gets confusing. Humans, Bird-men, and the Mer-people had been living in peace for 4 years. The Bird-men help keep certain ecosystems intact while the Mer-people kept the oceans clean and full of fish. This was all fine and dandy till the Mer-people stopped supplying us with fish. The Bird-men who mainly lived off fish blamed the humans for this. Thus a war broke out. The war waged on for roughly 6 months, I know it's short. Humans had a distinct advantage in the way of weapons making quick work of their foes. The only ones spared were a handful of Bird-men and Mer-people scientist. History class is now over. Fast forward to last week where some doctor up in Canada engineered a new sleeping pill. An ad was put into newspapers globally looking for testers. They only had to have 1 qualification. Severe insomnia. Their reward for testing it? 10 000 in cash in the form of whatever currency your country uses. "You know that actually sounds like a something I could use," I think to myself as I read the ad "10 000 dollars for taking 1 pill. Easy. Even better if it works. Haven't slept in a week." With that I called the number on the add and signed my self up for a test to which I believed nothing could go wrong. I mean it's taking a pill, how hard is that? Fast forward another 6 days to yesterday, "Thank you all for coming today," starts the doctor "My name is Doctor Birdsteen worlds finest doctor." The first thought to run through my head upon hearing the name is shock. Doctor Birdsteen had been 1 of 5 Bird-men doctors left alive after the war. "Now then if you could all follow me into the research centre we may begin to distribute the pills" Now me and 16 others had showed up for the experiment. But I had my doubts if we could all stay. The facility look to be about the size of an average house. It was clear that if they had to cut people out of the experiment they would cut out certain people like Mark, my friend who also suffered severe insomnia. Why would they cut him you ask? While he wan't that tall, only about 5"4 he was round. Even though he only weighed about 250 pounds he had the circumference of a medium sized exercise ball. "It appears we don't have enough rooms to accommodate all of you..." began Birdsteen "Well I'm sorry to say but we will have to send 7 of you home.... let's see here. You, you, you, the short, fat one in the back, the guy with the afro, and you twins. I'm sorry but we cannot have you participate in the trial but allow me to give you a small sum of cash to apologize for the waste of your time, oh and I shall pay for tickets home for all 7 of you." Fast forward another 2 hours and past a farewell to a very pissed off Mark, "Now that that is settled please follow me to your rooms where you will receive your instructions." With that the 10 of us follow the feathered man to our chambers for testing. Now the chambers were all linked together so really we went into on then dispersed through the doors to the next room. Each room look relatively similar but they all had a little detail to make them unique. For example room 3 had a picture of a flower while room 8 had a window. I got the last room which was like rooms 1,2,4,5,6,7 and 9. A simple room that was about 5x5 that contained 1 single sized bed, a bedside table with a lamp and a little box the contained a toilet, sink and mirror. Next to the lamp was a small sheet of paper with a bottle of pills and a glass of water on top. "Instructions for pill usage:" I read aloud "1. Take 2 pills with water within 5 minutes of going to sleep. 2. Sleep on your back. 3.Clear your mind. 4. Enjoy a peaceful night of sleep." With that I opened the bottle, grabbed the pills, and downed them with the help of water and hopped into the bed. It took me about 2 minutes till, for the first time in a week, I fell asleep. Only aware of a small tingling sensation throughout my body. I was blissfully unaware of what was to come, If only I had looked at the bottle... ~Meanwhile in Equestria~ Twilight was sitting on her couch in the Golden Oaks library reading a book. Not just any book though, this book happened to be from the Star Swirl the Bearded's section of the Canterlot archives. What was the book about you may ask? It contained his notes in regard to his research in the possibility of other worlds and/or dimensions. When Twilight heard about a book with details on the prospect of other worlds, she being the egghead she is, had to get her hands on it. She had just gotten to a part where it talked about a spell that in theory opened a portal to a world called Earth in a dimension parallel to hers. She had begun casting the portal spell when a certain purple dragon came running into the room. "Twilight what are you doing up still?" he asked "It's 3 in the morning you should probably get some sleep tonight so you aren't to tired to do that thing." "Spike what thing?" "You know the thing you have to do in the Everfree forest for Princess Celestia." "Oh yea thanks for reminding me Spike. No wonder your my number 1 assistant." and with that Twilight headed up the stairs into her room. Out of the corner of her eye she thought she saw a flash a red and blue out by the Everfree but she simply pushed the thought away thinking that staying up so late was causing her to hallucinate. ~In the Everfree Forest~ A lone manticore was prowling through the trees searching for a late night snack. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck a mere 20 feet away from it. Seconds later as if a huge explosion had gone off a bright flash of red an blue engulfed the area. The manticore fled the scene not wanted to disturb whatever had caused the blinding light. Chapter 1: PainPain. My entire body is in excruciating pain. My back feels the worst. My arms legs and neck aren't far behind though. I can't move. I can't hear. I can't see. Hell, I can't even smell anything. The only thing my brain is capable of doing now is try to subdue the unbearable pain that covers my body like a tightly wrapped blanket. I try to cry out for help but it backfires and the second I open my mouth I throw up. After a good 5 minutes of letting the contents of my stomach fall from my mouth I notice a few changes to my condition. One, I can move my mouth without it felling as though it's broken into several pieces. Second, I can hear very faintly the sound of a river. Slowly my sense return, with smell coming first. The smell of bile hits me like a speed truck. It takes all my willpower to stop myself from vomiting again. I still can't think straight, the pain is making sure of that. I try to move my arms but nothing happens, same with my legs. I do however manage to move my head slightly. I hear a snapping sound followed by enormous amounts of pain and a dull thud. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH" I cry out suddenly finding my voice. With that what little conciousness I had faded and had I been able to see the world would have gone black. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 6 mares and a baby dragon stood just inside of a forest. Though it was mid day, the tree canopy blocked most light making it appear like it was night. They had been walking in silence for 5 minutes when one decided to ask the question on most of their minds. "Twilight what's this big, important mission that the Princess wants us to do?" asked one of the travellers "Rainbow, I thought I already told you. All the Princess said in the letter is that Discord tipped her off about something near the ruins of the old castle." replied the one leading the group. "Well did she happen to mention what exactly we should be looking for?" asked another "For the last time all it said was-" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH" Her sentence was cut short due to a scream originating from somewhere in front of them. "I think we just heard what we were supposed to be looking for." said the leader. ~Meanwhile on Earth~ Dr. Birdsteen was check up on his test subjects via the cameras set up in their rooms. He took note of any and all side effects that were shown. Only two subjects were experiencing a side affect though. Number 3 and Number 10. Number 3, Daryl appeared to be having a lucid dream, or more specifically a nightmare. His eyes were rapidly moving back and forth beneath his eyelids and he was sweating profusely. While Number 10, Tyler was experiencing a side affect that had less to do with the pill and more to do with his least favourite associates. He turned away from the monitors and began a brisk walk to what appeared to be a supply closet. Once there he flung the door open and walked inside. To any passerbier (There were none due to the fact that it was 3 am) this would be strange in and of itself. If they had chosen to follow the doctor they would find an even strange site. For a simple supply closet it was big. Well at least to two people it was.There was an enchantment put on the closet so that only Dr. Birdsteen and his "Associate" could see the room for what it really was. A communication room. Why would the two need to hid such a room you may ask? While the room technically shouldn't even exist. Hell, Birdsteen and his "associate" shouldn't even know each other. But alas, they did, thus the room had to exist. The room was fairly simple it had a chair, desk, a computer and a headset. But again all of this had been enchanted. Birdsteen hastened to the computer and called his associate. "Luna you better answer or I swear to God I will find a way to your damned dimension and beat the living shit out of you." the doctor was used to waiting for Luna to answer his calls but this time she had a surprise up her sleeve. "Now, now Greg, I was just about to call you. Also there is no need to cuss in front of me. After all is that a proper way to treat me after all I have done for you?" inquired the figure "Listen to me princess when you magicked the pills you told me that there was a 0.00001% chance of that side effect happening." replied the thoroughly pissed off doctor "Actually I believe I said a 1 in 1 billion chance of it happening. But why are you asking about?" "Well it appears that 1 pill out of billions we made is causing the side effect to happening now. I never should have let you use your magic in this world. So, how are you going to deal with the problem?" Luna sat in her room in Canterlot castle staring at her associate on the screen with a look of horror. "This can't be happening. I have to find a way to stop it from going all the way. But that could destroy whoever it's affecting" She thought to herself. "Well?" asked the Bird-man "What are you going to do to? He's only got, from what you said, about 3 more minutes till he goes. You need to stop it. I would help but he's been out of my range for the whole night it seems." "I'll do what I can to stop it. Although if he survives there is a very slim chance he'll be in your world or ever be human again" With that she ended the call. Luna sat in the chair for another few minutes before Discord showed up. "Discord, please tell Tia the send the elements to the ruins of our old castle tomorrow morning. I shall be making a trip to Earth so please make haste." With that the draconequss teleported to the room of the solar Princess. To tell her Luna's add request. Chapter 2: PoniesPrincess Luna ran down the hallway leading to compartment 10. She had already begun to cast the counter-spell in hopes that it wasn't to late to save the poor soul. Dr. Birdsteen who was only a few steps behind was cursing under his breath for his luck. The 2 had reached the door to compartment 10 right as they went to open the door however, they froze for a brief second. Coming out of the small window in the door was an eerie red and blue glow. When the shock had passed they flung the door open to reveal and disturbing scene. On the bed lay a body approximately 6 feet tall. The arms and legs were spread as though the person had been trying to make a snow angel. The red an blue glow that had been seen from the window was emitting from the figure. The person on the bed was covered in a blue/red glow that seemed to replace the skin. The most disturbing thing to Luna however wasn't the glow, it was the red colouring which she had identified as blood. The princess and the doctor scanned the body quickly for any signs that the person was indeed still alive. It was during this check that Birdsteen made a shocking discovery. "Luna, I don't remember you saying anything about physical changes to resemble my kind," said the doctor "I'm not sure what you mean doctor. I know there was the possibility of the magic changing the unlucky soul to change into, or adapt features of a pony but not any changes regarding Bird-men," replied the Princess of the night uncertain what her companion meant "Well then take a look at the wings. As far as I know those are bird wings not pegasus wings," Luna slowly walked over to Birdsteen to see what he meant. She fell back a few steps upon the sight of 2, glowing red, eagle wings laid limp next to the human. Another check to see spot any other changes revealed that he had a pair of pony ears. Luna had begun to cast the spell that, in theory, would bring the human back to Earth from where ever he was currently. Assuming that it didn't kill him, his body would revert back to normal. It looked as if it was going to work, the red and blue slowly started to fad away, finally showing the skin and hair underneath. Luna almost dropped the spell in shock when she saw his skin. It had huge gashes running up and down his arms, legs and chest. His head was bruised all over and his neck was burned to a black. The spell was almost finished when an other-worldly scream filled the room. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH" the scream appeared to have originated from the man lying on the bed. However the scream had caused the night princess to lose her concentration on the spell, which in turn caused the room to flash red and blue blinding the doctor and Luna. When the two had regained their sight the body on the bed was gone. All that remained was bloodstains on the sheets and a few bloodstained feathers. "Greg, I'm sorry," apologized Luna "I thought the spell had worked. The scream made me lose it." "It's fine Luna," replied the doctor in a defeated tone "I only hope he is still alive over in Equstria. Go, I remember the time differences so even though it's been about 10 minutes here I'm pretty sure it's morning back there. I'd hurry back, I'm sure your "Elements" have found his body. It might be wise if you were there to explain some things if he survived." The room was filled with another flash, this one being white, as the Co-Ruler of Equestria teleported back to her home. "I never should have trusted that damned pony." ~Back in Equestria~ (3rd Person) Twilight and her friends stared down at the mangled figure at there feet. They had been walking through the Everfree towards the ruins of the old castle when they hear a blood-chilling scream ring out. They ran for a good 5 minutes until they stumbled upon a giant crater. In the centre of the hole was a body. The girls had determined that figure on the ground was a male but they could not figure out what he was. At first glance they thought he was just another pony, the body shape was similar and he had dark grey pony ears. When they got closer they were shocked to discover that the ears were the only similarity between it and themselves. They had seen wings coming out from his back when they arrived.Naturally they thought it was a pegasus who had injured a wing at a high altitude and fell, but the wings were more akin to a eagle or a griffin. "What do you think he is?" asked Rainbow Dash "I'm not sure. He kinda looks like us ponies but he has griffin wings and feet," replied Applejack "Twilight dear, are you even sure he's still alive? Come look at his throat there are slits on each side," said Rarity The unicorn in question walked over to the head of the body and bent down. Rarity was right, she discovered three slits running down each side of his throat. For a minute Twilight thought they might have been fish gills but dropped it when she saw a fine trickle of blood drip from one of them. "He's still alive all right but just barely. Come on girls we need to get him to the hospital before he dies!" With that said, Twilight began to levitate the body and they took off running towards Ponyville hospital. ~Inside Tyler's mind~ Is this what it's like dying? It's actually not too bad. I can't even feel the pain from before. My only question now is, do I get into Heaven or am I cursed to Hell. Probably the latter. I should have left right then and there. Why did I follow through with those orders? While at least I know if I go to Hell so is he. Hopefully the others made up for the mistake unlike me. I still wish I could have warned them, helped them to safety. Oh well, what's done is done. Can't go changing it now. Chapter 3: PretenseWhy did you lie to me! You said that was their base! They were all innocent and I killed them! I'm sorry Tyler. I know I shouldn't have lied to you but if I hadn't you wouldn't have dropped the bomb. We needed you to do this. We needed to end the war. I began to fell my sense returning not that I remember them going away. The first was smell. Slowly but surely a faint aroma began to trigger memories in my brain. I was in a hospital. The smell of sterilization broke down a dam of recollections about my travels years ago. Not many were good ones mind you so had I been fully concious I would have began bawling right then. But lucky for me I was still, in my mind at least, 50% dead. As my other senses came back to me I heard a soft beep every few seconds. This confused me. I knew I was in a hospital and alive, but why was I hooked up to a heart monitor? The pain from however long ago felt like it was enough for me to be beyond help. I didn't even think I would end up in a hospital, I figured I would be left for dead. So why hook a helpless case to a vital machine. Even with the odd chance I clung to life, it didn't make sense. Finally being 100% aware of my surroundings, based solely on hearing. I slowly opened my eyes as I grunted in pain. Apparently I had company because I heard some shuffling and a slight dip in the bed I was on, as if someone had sat down on it. I opened my eyes fully and immediately regretted it. Sitting by my feet was a humanoid... thing. I wasn't sure what it was. I had the body of a human, spare the legs which just ended in stubs. Hoofs maybe? The face though, the face was so weird. The eyes were huge compared to a human, hell they were even big compared to a Mer-persons eyes (2x the size of humans). The nose and mouth were together to form a muzzle of sorts. Oh, and the ears, without a doubt I could tell those were horse ears. So my guess was this creature was some sort or Horse x Human cross. Oh and it was covered in brown fur. I was shocked further when it started speaking. In English no less. "Hello sir," it said a little uneasy "I trust you are felling well," Now I'm guessing here but I was pretty sure this was a doctor. My suspicions weren't confirmed until I saw it reach for a clipboard on the table next to me. I mean, what kind of doctor doesn't wear a coat, or a stethoscope. "I guess I'm alright" I replied. I tried to sit up but pain assaulted my chest and I fell back down onto my back. "Oops, guess I should have warned you about that. You see, you had 4 broken ribs so your chest will hurt for a few weeks. Don't worry though, our magic was able to mend them. Also, may I ask a quick question?" "Shoot," "How can you understand me?" He asked I looked at him dumbfounded. Did he really just ask me how I understood English? "Well doc, I may have been raised up in a French city I've been fluent in English since grade 1," I answered "English?" he said "No idea what that is. Right now your speaking Equestrian," He had to be joking. We both were speaking English. What the hell did he mean by Equestrian? A well I can get an answer for that later. Right now I had a much bigger question on my mind. "Doc, quick question, Where am I?" I asked "You sir are currently in the Ponyville hospital. Ponyville being the name of the town, the country however is called Equestria." he replied without missing a beat. "Well I'm sure you have more questions but right now you need your rest. I'll be back to check on you in a few hours" and with that the doctor was out. I was left alone. No way I was going to even try and sleep. Too many things on my mind, besides I probably wouldn't be able to. Damn insomnia. I thought back to what the doctor had said "Our magic was able to mend them" I assumed he was just saying they worked their "magic" and got me fixed up. I also thought back to he said about being in the country Equestria. I hoped that it was just an unfounded land mass out in the ocean somewhere. Though it didn't make much sense, countries have scoured the whole of the seas. That left 2 possibilities. I had really died and gone to some heaven or hell type place or I was on an entirely different planet. Both sounded like bullshit so I stopped thinking about them. I wasn't even alone for 5 minutes before a nurse came in and told me I had visitors. I told her to send them in. I mean, What could possibly go wrong? Chapter 4: Phone (Twilight's POV)"Where is that Celestia Damned nurse?" I screamed in my head. She left almost 10 minutes ago to alert the creature of our presence. I specifically told her to be brief with the message and not get too close to him. For all we know he could have killed her! My friends's don't think I should be worrying about this. They don't even care that we are about to interrogate a potentially dangerous being! Rarity and Fluttershy are off to the side talking in whispers. Probably about their next spa day. Pinkie is muttering to herself about what to get for a party for him and Applejack and Rainbow Dash are talking about how strong or fast he might be. *sigh* Am I the only one here with some sense? The door to his room opened and Nurse Redheart stumbled out laughing! I told her not to engage in a conversation with him! He could have killed her! "Miss *huff* Twilight *huff* Mr Tyler is ready to see you and your friends." she called over to me. I motioned for the girls to follow me and we walked in. The first thing I saw almost gave me a heart attack. He was standing, with his back turned to us looking out the window. I didn't realize how intimidating he looked. He stood at about 6 feet tall at what I'm guessing is he fully extended high. He had dark blue hair with some parts dipping down to his shoulders, some to about halfway down his neck and some patches with no hair at all. His wings were what sacred me the most though. They were that of a gryphon (griffin?) and as a little bigger than the average stallion. The fact that he was wearing his burnt shorts like they were normal didn't help either. He must have noticed us staring because he turned around. He looked shocked for a second but then smiled an raised his hands. This of course scared me causing me to use my magic to force him to the wall. When I realized what I had done I pulled him off the wall and set him on the bed. "Ow, don't you know that raised hands indicate no harmful intentions?" he or I guess Tyler asked me "I'm sorry it just your a potentially dangerous creature and your stature is a bit intimidating" I hastily replied, not wanting to be on his bad side from the start. "It's all right Miss...?" "Twilight, Twilight Sparkle" "Thanks, anyway; It's all right Miss Sparkle although I've never been called intimidating before. Normally it's blue haired freak" I stood there shocked. I looked to my friends and they wore the same expression as me. It was a surprise to hear him talk fluent Equestrian but to be so polite. For a second I forgot why I ever felt threatened by him but them I remembered, he could just be sweet talking me to lower my guard. "Excuse us for a second I need to discuss something with my friends" I said to him before turning around. "Ok listen," I began in a hushed tone "I don't trust him so I plan to get him locked up until I get enough information out of him. For now I'm just going to be polite and begin introductions then ask him some basic questions about himself ok?" I asked "Ah don't see the reason behind this but Ah trust you enough to know what your doing Twi'" said Applejack The others simply nodded although Rarity and Fluttershy look a bit hesitant. "Thank you for waiting, allow me to introduce myself properly. My name is Twilight Sparkle local librarian and one of the 4 alicorn Princesses of Equestria" "And I'm Rainbow Dash, fastest flyer in all of Equestria and, future Wonderbolts captain." said Rainbow with a cocky smile Next was Applejack. She went straight up to him and started shaking his hand furiously. "Name's Applejack, local farmer at Sweet Apple acres. Along with my family of course." she finished as she backed off. Surprisingly the next pony to introduce herself was Fluttershy. "My name is Fluttershy. I'm the local veterinarian and care taker of lots of animals. It's a pleasure to meet you." Everypony was shocked, save Rarity for some reason. Fluttershy is always so... shy! She's never been that confident in speaking to any new pony. Before anyone could comment though Rarity step forward. "A pleasure to meet you Darling, my name is Rarity fashionista and local seamstress of Ponyville." and then it was quiet. "I thought there was six of you" said Tyler. It's weird using that name, not just because it's completely abnormal. It's mainly because he hasn't introduced himself yet. Suddenly Pinkie appeared out of no where and jumped onto his bed. "Hi my name is Pinkie Pie baker and official welcomer of new ponies to Ponyville." she said with a face splitting smile. "Well then, now that you've all introduced yourselves I guess I should do the same. My name is Tyler..." "What's wrong?" asked Applejack "I... I can't remember my full name" he said "I know my first name is Tyler but then it's a blank..." "Well then, Tyler is fine until we find a way to jog your memory a bit" said Rarity "Ok then. My name is Tyler and I've jut finished high school back home and I'm a survivor of a war that I was forced into 3 years ago. I had no job back home and had no clue what I wanted to be." For the 3rd time that day I was speechless. This stallion who couldn't be much older than any of us had been forced to go to war 3 years ago. I was about to say something when an unknown voice started singing. "Now, this is a story all about how My life got flipped-turned upside down And I'd like to take a minute Just sit right there I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air" Again being scared by the voice my immediate reaction was to restrain Tyler. The singing continued as Rarity walked over to Tyler. She leaned down and I saw that she was telling him something, he responded and Rarity motioned for me to let up on the magic. Tyler then sat up reached into his pocket and pulled out a rectangle. He pushed a button on top and touched the centre of it. When he was finished the song abruptly stopped. He put the thing back into his pocket and turned to face us. "Sorry about that. My phone has an alarm set to ring at 8:30 each Sunday morning to let me know I've probably been up for another 48 hours." and before anyone could respond everything went black. When I got my vision back the creature was gone and so was Fluttershy. "I knew it!" I shouted "I knew he was dangerous, I knew he would pull something as soon as we let our guards down! Ok girls we need to find him. Spread out around the city. You know what he looks like, also look out for Fluttershy, he probably took her. And with that the hunt was on! UpdateAlright so I have obviously been slacking on making new chapters for this. I have good reason. The first is well, summer happened. You guys know how summer is. Although I did find lots of time to write... Ok so the first thing is well, I got lazy during summer. I started playing LoL during the last month of school (July) and kinda got hooked. In August I had set a goal for my self in League. Go from lvl 10 to lvl 30 before school started back up. I am proud to say I did achieve this with 2 weeks to spare. (I did spend about 100$ on it though. So worth it). Anywho, all the time I found it good to write I ended up playing a match. I told myself "Ok, one more match then I'll write the next chapter" Well 1 match turned into 2 and 2 into 20 so yeah... The second reason is I'm torn between 2 ways I want to take the story. I'll explain that in the next chapter which, hopefully, I can get out for you guys by the end of next week. No promises cause school and stuff but I'll try. The third reason is, I have plenty of ideas for how I want the story to progress but I can't find a way to get them in a coherent order past the next chapter. Again I'll explain in the A/N for the next chapter. But I digress, so anyway next chapter should be out by next Saturday, I hope. Also a big shout out to those who have favourited the story. Thanks for reading and check back next week :) Chapter 5: Well ShitAl right before you all start saying I acted like a little bitch or something along those lines, I didn't. I acted in the most manly way possible; I shrieked and ran. Yep, totally manly. Anyway, I ran for maybe 10 metres before I realized, it's dark as hell and there are tons of trees around. Needless to say, I ran into a tree rather hard and may or may not have knocked myself out. I woke up to a rather bright light shining in my eyes. For fear of being blinded and/or seeing the thing I tried so hard to run away from I kept my eyes clamped shut. This was all in vane as my eyes were forced open. The light then subsided and I found myself staring into the darkness of the forest once again. "Ah it worked," said the voice from before. "We thought you have been more resilient to Our magic." Magic? What the hell is this thing talking about? As if it read my mind the thing spoke again, (Still couldn't see it) "Yes, magic. Also I'm an Alicorn not a thing." It was then that this "alicorn" decided to show itself from directly in front of me a tall dark blue thing walked out of the trees. It looked pretty similar to the ones that I had previously met. If I had to guess I would say it, no she, was about 7 feet tall; give or take a few inches. Like I said previously she was covered in dark blue fur but also sported a fairly large pair of wings and a horn. I could tell you what she was wearing but it's kinda unimportant. I was still in shock about her appearance that I didn't notice her start a fire. I opened my mouth to say something but got no chance as I was suddenly trapping in a bone crushing hug. This "alicorn" currently had her arms wrapped around my chest and was crying into my shoulder. I would have complained but I couldn't get any air to breath so all that came out were gasps. Just as suddenly as it happened I found myself able to breath again and the woman was sitting across the fire from me. Oh did I mention that I didn't notice the fire? Cause it scared the shit outta me when I saw it. "Tyler," the alicorn began, her voice broken. "We, I must apologize. It is my fault you are here and my fault I have no way to send you back." I was about to ask what she meant when I was cut off by the beginning of a rant. "I'm sure you realized by now that this isn't Earth" And she broke me, "I cannot express how sorry I am that this event has unfolded but you need to listen to me very careful if you want to survive." "Whoa whoa whoa," I said. "I'm sorry but did you say this isn't Earth?" She sighed as if she expected this questions. "Yes We, ugh we me I, did," she cursed under her breath "You must forgive me, I'm still learning how to speak like a normal citizen, I'm afraid not having been around for 1000 years has made this quite difficult. But yes this isn't Earth, or at least not your Earth." All fragments of my mind that I had collected I lost. So I really was on another world, but apparently she didn't know how to get me back! I looked her straight in the eyes, my gaze was hollow, one of a broken man. Her eyes, still filled with remnants of tears, were filled with sorrow and regret. "You're kidding right?" I asked in a whisper. "You're fucking kidding right?" She looked away, "I'm sorry but I'm not. I would not joke about such a serious thing. We've spent the last 2 weeks trying to figure out how to break this to you delicately. We guess it didn't work as well as We planned." That was the final straw. The finally block fell down and the flood gates opened. I fell onto my back and wept. The thing that had caused this mad no effort to move she just looked at me with those huge eyes. It may have been only a few minutes but it felt like and eternity later the tears stopped. I sat up and wiped the last of the liquid off my face. She looked away from me and only 2 words came out of my mouth. "What now?" She must have been fighting with herself but she did manage to look at me."I can send your conscious back one full day, so to a few hours before you woke up from the coma, or we can go into Ponyville, find Twilight Sparkle and the other elements and explain the situation." "3 things," is my reply. "The first, why only a day? The second, how long was I in a coma, and how long have a been here?" "I can only do 1 day because it is a small enough amount of magic that it won't cause the universe to tear apart, and only me and my sister will be able to feel the ripple in time. To answer your other questions, you were in a coma for 2 and a half weeks. and here for just over 3." How the fuck was I hear for 3 weeks but only in a coma for 2 and a half? The last thing I remember is being in excruciating pain. I can't think about it now though, I have to much on my mind already. I can only thing of one thing to say. "Well, shit" and then darkness. Chapter 6: 'Scuse but What?"Whoa, Whoa, Whoa" I say, "Back the fuck up for a second. Why did I get so calm after you just explained how you ripped me from my world and said you have no known way of sending me back for some unexplained reason." As if by, well magic I guess, my anger returned with a vengeance. "I can explain everything in a few minutes time. But first we need to get you out of this forest. We may be a princess but this places still scares Us." she replied Without even waiting for any verification that this was ok from me she just got up and started walking. Based on what she said the only way I would find out what's going on was to follow her so I did just that. We walked for easily 5 minutes before the glow from the moon was remotely visible. Another 5 and we were out of the forest. I tried to ask where she was leading me but I got no response. She did look lost in thought so I couldn't get to mad for not getting an answer. I'm not sure how much longer we walked after we left the tree line but eventually we came to the edge of the town I fled from earlier. The alicorn brightened up significantly as we approached the first set of houses. Just before were went into the town proper however she turned and looked at me. "Before we go any further I need an answer." she said "Answer to what? You mean about either finding these "Elements" or sending my consciousness back a day to when I woke up in the hospital?" I asked "Precisely" "Well you never really gave me time to think about it. But going off what my gut is telling me let's just go into town. I'm not sure that, "sending me back in time" would have lead to any different results because I wouldn't know what's going to happen if I act the same way." I replied and with that she turned and started back off into the town. I still didn't know where we were going exactly but I did know one thing, I had to face the ponies from the hospital. The purple one, Twilight Sparkle, was apparently not to friendly towards me entirely based on my look. Kinda racist if you think about it. Anyway as we approached what looked to be a hollowed out tree I started to notice a few things were off. First my hearing was way too good. I could mine and the alicorn's footsteps as you might expected but I could also hear a faint swooshing sound. I wasn't to sure what it could have been since there wasn't any wind. That's when I took notice of her tail. Each time it waved from side to side it made a small swoosh. Anyways the second thing that seemed off way a huge pain in the middle of my back. I just chalked it up to leaning against that tree in the forest though. So maybe it was only 1 thing that was off. I was pulled out of my thoughts when the Alicorn, "Jeez I really need to figure out her name. Calling her just "Alicorn is starting to get old", stopped in font of a tree and knocked on the door. Said door opened wide to reveal those that I didn't really want to see. The same 6 ponies that had come to see me in the hospital. Twilight warmly greeted the Alicorn and queered why she was here that's when she saw me. Everyone inside had somehow noticed me trying in vain to hid behind the still unnamed pony. That's when the purple unicorn finally said something that was directed at me. "There you are. You are so lucky that Fluttershy is ok, and you're lucky you're with the princess or else I would beat you up so bad you would wish I had killed you!" she said. "Twilight Sparkle! That is unacceptable behaviour," said the princess, "I'll have you know that Tyler here is completely innocent and means none of us any harm!" Well none of you is a bit of a stretch, I'm considered beating the shit out of purple and blue for several reasons. I thought Twilight sighed, "Sorry Princess Luna," Aha so she does have a name "I was just worried that he was violent and I'm a little overprotective of my friends in case you didn't notice." After that had happened Twilight ushered me and Luna into the tree which turns out is a library. I walked past the other 5 ponies and a small lizard standing on two legs. They each had a different expression written on their faces. Rarity had relief, Fluttershy had concern, Pinkie was just smiling at me, Rainbow and Applejack had varying degrees of worry and the lizard looked furious. I sat down at the bottom of a staircase while Twilight and Luna sat down on some chairs. Silence reigned over the room, until I decided to break it. "So," I casually started, "Is that purple thing a dragon?" I was actually not surprised when it replied in a young kids voice, and one that wasn't angry at all, "Of course I am, but I'm still only a baby, name's Spike" I was about to speak up again when Luna cut in, "Well now that we all know each other I believe I have some explaining to do to everyone. But before I start I want everyone to swear not to tell anypony else what I'm about to tell you." Anypony? Well that was a new one. I thought "Well then I guess I shall start. Tyler, you'll have to excuse me for this but," Luna began. I was about to ask what she said when I suddenly grew very tired. By the looks of it everyone else in the room, save Luna, got tired to and next thing I knew I was out. Chapter 4.5: Phone (Tyler's POV)A/N This part of chapter picks up AFTER Tyler runs from Twilight and co. It is simply a filler do the next chapter doesn't have any plot holes. It also exist because I don't want to write a full chapter right now :P I ran like my life depended on it and for all I know it does. I wasn't sure where I was going. The yellow pony, Fluttershy I believe told me to run through town to the edge of the forest. I would have flown seeing as I somehow have wings now but I lacked the knowledge of how to use them. But I listened to her and ran. I still wasn't sure why they helped me. You'd think if a new species was discovered 2 people sent to contain it would let it go behind the others back. Well whatever, I most likely owe my life to them. I guess I should briefly explain why I'm in this situation. Back in my hospital room when my phone alarm went off Rarity walked over to me and whispered in my ear, "I know this will sound weird but I'm going to help you get out of here. Twilight wants to lock you up until she learns that you are 100% not dangerous. Anyways see Fluttershy over there? When I give the signal I want you to go over to her as quietly as possible, she'll help you out. Listen to whatever she says." So now I'm running from a possibly crazy humanoid pony who wants to lock me up and study me. I had just made it to the forest edge when I looked over my shoulder. In the distance I could see a moving blur. It wasn't until it was about 30 feet from me did I notice it was Rainbow Dash. I decided to ignore Fluttershy's warnings of the creatures in the forest and ran in failing to hear he cries for me to stop so she could talk to me. I ran a good 50 metres into the forest when the exhaustion hit me. I guess the adrenaline wore off from the panic of being chased. I slumped down against a tree and closed my eyes. I must have dozed off because I woke up and it was completely dark out. I wasn't too worried though I was close enough to the edge of the forest that if need be, I could make a break for it. I was just about to fall asleep again when I heard a twig snap. Immediately I jumped up and look towards the sound. There, not 10 feet from me was a figure. It took a step forward and said one word, "Tyler"
Prologue: PillsMy name is Tyler. I'm your average teen that is fresh out of high school. Now I'm going to describe my looks. Not that they are important. Any ways I'm about 6"1 and about as skinny as a skeleton despite weighing 200 pounds. My hair is natural brown but I've dyed it blue for no reason whatsoever. It goes down just past my shoulders, as it has since I was 6. This being why my nickname through ever grade up until grade 11 was "The Girl". Yea I know ain't it original. The name Tyler also didn't help my there. Great, now I'm off track, back to my looks. My only defining feature (Other than my hair) is my eyes. While most people have brown or blue eyes, mine are magenta. Why they are like this I don't know but it does earn me quick a few compliments as well as a lot of bewildered looks. But that's enough about me, for now. Now for a short history lesson, which will contain very important details sooner or later. So, currently it is the year 2031 and just 19 years ago scientist made an amazing breakthrough in studies to deal with DNA. They had successfully merged human DNA with the DNA of an eagle. This lead to the successful merging of human and fish DNA. So by 2014 we had 3 sentient species on Earth. You following? Good here's where it gets confusing. Humans, Bird-men, and the Mer-people had been living in peace for 4 years. The Bird-men help keep certain ecosystems intact while the Mer-people kept the oceans clean and full of fish. This was all fine and dandy till the Mer-people stopped supplying us with fish. The Bird-men who mainly lived off fish blamed the humans for this. Thus a war broke out. The war waged on for roughly 6 months, I know it's short. Humans had a distinct advantage in the way of weapons making quick work of their foes. The only ones spared were a handful of Bird-men and Mer-people scientist. History class is now over. Fast forward to last week where some doctor up in Canada engineered a new sleeping pill. An ad was put into newspapers globally looking for testers. They only had to have 1 qualification. Severe insomnia. Their reward for testing it? 10 000 in cash in the form of whatever currency your country uses. "You know that actually sounds like a something I could use," I think to myself as I read the ad "10 000 dollars for taking 1 pill. Easy. Even better if it works. Haven't slept in a week." With that I called the number on the add and signed my self up for a test to which I believed nothing could go wrong. I mean it's taking a pill, how hard is that? Fast forward another 6 days to yesterday, "Thank you all for coming today," starts the doctor "My name is Doctor Birdsteen worlds finest doctor." The first thought to run through my head upon hearing the name is shock. Doctor Birdsteen had been 1 of 5 Bird-men doctors left alive after the war. "Now then if you could all follow me into the research centre we may begin to distribute the pills" Now me and 16 others had showed up for the experiment. But I had my doubts if we could all stay. The facility look to be about the size of an average house. It was clear that if they had to cut people out of the experiment they would cut out certain people like Mark, my friend who also suffered severe insomnia. Why would they cut him you ask? While he wan't that tall, only about 5"4 he was round. Even though he only weighed about 250 pounds he had the circumference of a medium sized exercise ball. "It appears we don't have enough rooms to accommodate all of you..." began Birdsteen "Well I'm sorry to say but we will have to send 7 of you home.... let's see here. You, you, you, the short, fat one in the back, the guy with the afro, and you twins. I'm sorry but we cannot have you participate in the trial but allow me to give you a small sum of cash to apologize for the waste of your time, oh and I shall pay for tickets home for all 7 of you." Fast forward another 2 hours and past a farewell to a very pissed off Mark, "Now that that is settled please follow me to your rooms where you will receive your instructions." With that the 10 of us follow the feathered man to our chambers for testing. Now the chambers were all linked together so really we went into on then dispersed through the doors to the next room. Each room look relatively similar but they all had a little detail to make them unique. For example room 3 had a picture of a flower while room 8 had a window. I got the last room which was like rooms 1,2,4,5,6,7 and 9. A simple room that was about 5x5 that contained 1 single sized bed, a bedside table with a lamp and a little box the contained a toilet, sink and mirror. Next to the lamp was a small sheet of paper with a bottle of pills and a glass of water on top. "Instructions for pill usage:" I read aloud "1. Take 2 pills with water within 5 minutes of going to sleep. 2. Sleep on your back. 3.Clear your mind. 4. Enjoy a peaceful night of sleep." With that I opened the bottle, grabbed the pills, and downed them with the help of water and hopped into the bed. It took me about 2 minutes till, for the first time in a week, I fell asleep. Only aware of a small tingling sensation throughout my body. I was blissfully unaware of what was to come, If only I had looked at the bottle... ~Meanwhile in Equestria~ Twilight was sitting on her couch in the Golden Oaks library reading a book. Not just any book though, this book happened to be from the Star Swirl the Bearded's section of the Canterlot archives. What was the book about you may ask? It contained his notes in regard to his research in the possibility of other worlds and/or dimensions. When Twilight heard about a book with details on the prospect of other worlds, she being the egghead she is, had to get her hands on it. She had just gotten to a part where it talked about a spell that in theory opened a portal to a world called Earth in a dimension parallel to hers. She had begun casting the portal spell when a certain purple dragon came running into the room. "Twilight what are you doing up still?" he asked "It's 3 in the morning you should probably get some sleep tonight so you aren't to tired to do that thing." "Spike what thing?" "You know the thing you have to do in the Everfree forest for Princess Celestia." "Oh yea thanks for reminding me Spike. No wonder your my number 1 assistant." and with that Twilight headed up the stairs into her room. Out of the corner of her eye she thought she saw a flash a red and blue out by the Everfree but she simply pushed the thought away thinking that staying up so late was causing her to hallucinate. ~In the Everfree Forest~ A lone manticore was prowling through the trees searching for a late night snack. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck a mere 20 feet away from it. Seconds later as if a huge explosion had gone off a bright flash of red an blue engulfed the area. The manticore fled the scene not wanted to disturb whatever had caused the blinding light.
Chapter 1: PainPain. My entire body is in excruciating pain. My back feels the worst. My arms legs and neck aren't far behind though. I can't move. I can't hear. I can't see. Hell, I can't even smell anything. The only thing my brain is capable of doing now is try to subdue the unbearable pain that covers my body like a tightly wrapped blanket. I try to cry out for help but it backfires and the second I open my mouth I throw up. After a good 5 minutes of letting the contents of my stomach fall from my mouth I notice a few changes to my condition. One, I can move my mouth without it felling as though it's broken into several pieces. Second, I can hear very faintly the sound of a river. Slowly my sense return, with smell coming first. The smell of bile hits me like a speed truck. It takes all my willpower to stop myself from vomiting again. I still can't think straight, the pain is making sure of that. I try to move my arms but nothing happens, same with my legs. I do however manage to move my head slightly. I hear a snapping sound followed by enormous amounts of pain and a dull thud. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH" I cry out suddenly finding my voice. With that what little conciousness I had faded and had I been able to see the world would have gone black. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 6 mares and a baby dragon stood just inside of a forest. Though it was mid day, the tree canopy blocked most light making it appear like it was night. They had been walking in silence for 5 minutes when one decided to ask the question on most of their minds. "Twilight what's this big, important mission that the Princess wants us to do?" asked one of the travellers "Rainbow, I thought I already told you. All the Princess said in the letter is that Discord tipped her off about something near the ruins of the old castle." replied the one leading the group. "Well did she happen to mention what exactly we should be looking for?" asked another "For the last time all it said was-" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH" Her sentence was cut short due to a scream originating from somewhere in front of them. "I think we just heard what we were supposed to be looking for." said the leader. ~Meanwhile on Earth~ Dr. Birdsteen was check up on his test subjects via the cameras set up in their rooms. He took note of any and all side effects that were shown. Only two subjects were experiencing a side affect though. Number 3 and Number 10. Number 3, Daryl appeared to be having a lucid dream, or more specifically a nightmare. His eyes were rapidly moving back and forth beneath his eyelids and he was sweating profusely. While Number 10, Tyler was experiencing a side affect that had less to do with the pill and more to do with his least favourite associates. He turned away from the monitors and began a brisk walk to what appeared to be a supply closet. Once there he flung the door open and walked inside. To any passerbier (There were none due to the fact that it was 3 am) this would be strange in and of itself. If they had chosen to follow the doctor they would find an even strange site. For a simple supply closet it was big. Well at least to two people it was.There was an enchantment put on the closet so that only Dr. Birdsteen and his "Associate" could see the room for what it really was. A communication room. Why would the two need to hid such a room you may ask? While the room technically shouldn't even exist. Hell, Birdsteen and his "associate" shouldn't even know each other. But alas, they did, thus the room had to exist. The room was fairly simple it had a chair, desk, a computer and a headset. But again all of this had been enchanted. Birdsteen hastened to the computer and called his associate. "Luna you better answer or I swear to God I will find a way to your damned dimension and beat the living shit out of you." the doctor was used to waiting for Luna to answer his calls but this time she had a surprise up her sleeve. "Now, now Greg, I was just about to call you. Also there is no need to cuss in front of me. After all is that a proper way to treat me after all I have done for you?" inquired the figure "Listen to me princess when you magicked the pills you told me that there was a 0.00001% chance of that side effect happening." replied the thoroughly pissed off doctor "Actually I believe I said a 1 in 1 billion chance of it happening. But why are you asking about?" "Well it appears that 1 pill out of billions we made is causing the side effect to happening now. I never should have let you use your magic in this world. So, how are you going to deal with the problem?" Luna sat in her room in Canterlot castle staring at her associate on the screen with a look of horror. "This can't be happening. I have to find a way to stop it from going all the way. But that could destroy whoever it's affecting" She thought to herself. "Well?" asked the Bird-man "What are you going to do to? He's only got, from what you said, about 3 more minutes till he goes. You need to stop it. I would help but he's been out of my range for the whole night it seems." "I'll do what I can to stop it. Although if he survives there is a very slim chance he'll be in your world or ever be human again" With that she ended the call. Luna sat in the chair for another few minutes before Discord showed up. "Discord, please tell Tia the send the elements to the ruins of our old castle tomorrow morning. I shall be making a trip to Earth so please make haste." With that the draconequss teleported to the room of the solar Princess. To tell her Luna's add request.
Chapter 2: PoniesPrincess Luna ran down the hallway leading to compartment 10. She had already begun to cast the counter-spell in hopes that it wasn't to late to save the poor soul. Dr. Birdsteen who was only a few steps behind was cursing under his breath for his luck. The 2 had reached the door to compartment 10 right as they went to open the door however, they froze for a brief second. Coming out of the small window in the door was an eerie red and blue glow. When the shock had passed they flung the door open to reveal and disturbing scene. On the bed lay a body approximately 6 feet tall. The arms and legs were spread as though the person had been trying to make a snow angel. The red an blue glow that had been seen from the window was emitting from the figure. The person on the bed was covered in a blue/red glow that seemed to replace the skin. The most disturbing thing to Luna however wasn't the glow, it was the red colouring which she had identified as blood. The princess and the doctor scanned the body quickly for any signs that the person was indeed still alive. It was during this check that Birdsteen made a shocking discovery. "Luna, I don't remember you saying anything about physical changes to resemble my kind," said the doctor "I'm not sure what you mean doctor. I know there was the possibility of the magic changing the unlucky soul to change into, or adapt features of a pony but not any changes regarding Bird-men," replied the Princess of the night uncertain what her companion meant "Well then take a look at the wings. As far as I know those are bird wings not pegasus wings," Luna slowly walked over to Birdsteen to see what he meant. She fell back a few steps upon the sight of 2, glowing red, eagle wings laid limp next to the human. Another check to see spot any other changes revealed that he had a pair of pony ears. Luna had begun to cast the spell that, in theory, would bring the human back to Earth from where ever he was currently. Assuming that it didn't kill him, his body would revert back to normal. It looked as if it was going to work, the red and blue slowly started to fad away, finally showing the skin and hair underneath. Luna almost dropped the spell in shock when she saw his skin. It had huge gashes running up and down his arms, legs and chest. His head was bruised all over and his neck was burned to a black. The spell was almost finished when an other-worldly scream filled the room. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH" the scream appeared to have originated from the man lying on the bed. However the scream had caused the night princess to lose her concentration on the spell, which in turn caused the room to flash red and blue blinding the doctor and Luna. When the two had regained their sight the body on the bed was gone. All that remained was bloodstains on the sheets and a few bloodstained feathers. "Greg, I'm sorry," apologized Luna "I thought the spell had worked. The scream made me lose it." "It's fine Luna," replied the doctor in a defeated tone "I only hope he is still alive over in Equstria. Go, I remember the time differences so even though it's been about 10 minutes here I'm pretty sure it's morning back there. I'd hurry back, I'm sure your "Elements" have found his body. It might be wise if you were there to explain some things if he survived." The room was filled with another flash, this one being white, as the Co-Ruler of Equestria teleported back to her home. "I never should have trusted that damned pony." ~Back in Equestria~ (3rd Person) Twilight and her friends stared down at the mangled figure at there feet. They had been walking through the Everfree towards the ruins of the old castle when they hear a blood-chilling scream ring out. They ran for a good 5 minutes until they stumbled upon a giant crater. In the centre of the hole was a body. The girls had determined that figure on the ground was a male but they could not figure out what he was. At first glance they thought he was just another pony, the body shape was similar and he had dark grey pony ears. When they got closer they were shocked to discover that the ears were the only similarity between it and themselves. They had seen wings coming out from his back when they arrived.Naturally they thought it was a pegasus who had injured a wing at a high altitude and fell, but the wings were more akin to a eagle or a griffin. "What do you think he is?" asked Rainbow Dash "I'm not sure. He kinda looks like us ponies but he has griffin wings and feet," replied Applejack "Twilight dear, are you even sure he's still alive? Come look at his throat there are slits on each side," said Rarity The unicorn in question walked over to the head of the body and bent down. Rarity was right, she discovered three slits running down each side of his throat. For a minute Twilight thought they might have been fish gills but dropped it when she saw a fine trickle of blood drip from one of them. "He's still alive all right but just barely. Come on girls we need to get him to the hospital before he dies!" With that said, Twilight began to levitate the body and they took off running towards Ponyville hospital. ~Inside Tyler's mind~ Is this what it's like dying? It's actually not too bad. I can't even feel the pain from before. My only question now is, do I get into Heaven or am I cursed to Hell. Probably the latter. I should have left right then and there. Why did I follow through with those orders? While at least I know if I go to Hell so is he. Hopefully the others made up for the mistake unlike me. I still wish I could have warned them, helped them to safety. Oh well, what's done is done. Can't go changing it now.
Chapter 3: PretenseWhy did you lie to me! You said that was their base! They were all innocent and I killed them! I'm sorry Tyler. I know I shouldn't have lied to you but if I hadn't you wouldn't have dropped the bomb. We needed you to do this. We needed to end the war. I began to fell my sense returning not that I remember them going away. The first was smell. Slowly but surely a faint aroma began to trigger memories in my brain. I was in a hospital. The smell of sterilization broke down a dam of recollections about my travels years ago. Not many were good ones mind you so had I been fully concious I would have began bawling right then. But lucky for me I was still, in my mind at least, 50% dead. As my other senses came back to me I heard a soft beep every few seconds. This confused me. I knew I was in a hospital and alive, but why was I hooked up to a heart monitor? The pain from however long ago felt like it was enough for me to be beyond help. I didn't even think I would end up in a hospital, I figured I would be left for dead. So why hook a helpless case to a vital machine. Even with the odd chance I clung to life, it didn't make sense. Finally being 100% aware of my surroundings, based solely on hearing. I slowly opened my eyes as I grunted in pain. Apparently I had company because I heard some shuffling and a slight dip in the bed I was on, as if someone had sat down on it. I opened my eyes fully and immediately regretted it. Sitting by my feet was a humanoid... thing. I wasn't sure what it was. I had the body of a human, spare the legs which just ended in stubs. Hoofs maybe? The face though, the face was so weird. The eyes were huge compared to a human, hell they were even big compared to a Mer-persons eyes (2x the size of humans). The nose and mouth were together to form a muzzle of sorts. Oh, and the ears, without a doubt I could tell those were horse ears. So my guess was this creature was some sort or Horse x Human cross. Oh and it was covered in brown fur. I was shocked further when it started speaking. In English no less. "Hello sir," it said a little uneasy "I trust you are felling well," Now I'm guessing here but I was pretty sure this was a doctor. My suspicions weren't confirmed until I saw it reach for a clipboard on the table next to me. I mean, what kind of doctor doesn't wear a coat, or a stethoscope. "I guess I'm alright" I replied. I tried to sit up but pain assaulted my chest and I fell back down onto my back. "Oops, guess I should have warned you about that. You see, you had 4 broken ribs so your chest will hurt for a few weeks. Don't worry though, our magic was able to mend them. Also, may I ask a quick question?" "Shoot," "How can you understand me?" He asked I looked at him dumbfounded. Did he really just ask me how I understood English? "Well doc, I may have been raised up in a French city I've been fluent in English since grade 1," I answered "English?" he said "No idea what that is. Right now your speaking Equestrian," He had to be joking. We both were speaking English. What the hell did he mean by Equestrian? A well I can get an answer for that later. Right now I had a much bigger question on my mind. "Doc, quick question, Where am I?" I asked "You sir are currently in the Ponyville hospital. Ponyville being the name of the town, the country however is called Equestria." he replied without missing a beat. "Well I'm sure you have more questions but right now you need your rest. I'll be back to check on you in a few hours" and with that the doctor was out. I was left alone. No way I was going to even try and sleep. Too many things on my mind, besides I probably wouldn't be able to. Damn insomnia. I thought back to what the doctor had said "Our magic was able to mend them" I assumed he was just saying they worked their "magic" and got me fixed up. I also thought back to he said about being in the country Equestria. I hoped that it was just an unfounded land mass out in the ocean somewhere. Though it didn't make much sense, countries have scoured the whole of the seas. That left 2 possibilities. I had really died and gone to some heaven or hell type place or I was on an entirely different planet. Both sounded like bullshit so I stopped thinking about them. I wasn't even alone for 5 minutes before a nurse came in and told me I had visitors. I told her to send them in. I mean, What could possibly go wrong?
Chapter 4: Phone (Twilight's POV)"Where is that Celestia Damned nurse?" I screamed in my head. She left almost 10 minutes ago to alert the creature of our presence. I specifically told her to be brief with the message and not get too close to him. For all we know he could have killed her! My friends's don't think I should be worrying about this. They don't even care that we are about to interrogate a potentially dangerous being! Rarity and Fluttershy are off to the side talking in whispers. Probably about their next spa day. Pinkie is muttering to herself about what to get for a party for him and Applejack and Rainbow Dash are talking about how strong or fast he might be. *sigh* Am I the only one here with some sense? The door to his room opened and Nurse Redheart stumbled out laughing! I told her not to engage in a conversation with him! He could have killed her! "Miss *huff* Twilight *huff* Mr Tyler is ready to see you and your friends." she called over to me. I motioned for the girls to follow me and we walked in. The first thing I saw almost gave me a heart attack. He was standing, with his back turned to us looking out the window. I didn't realize how intimidating he looked. He stood at about 6 feet tall at what I'm guessing is he fully extended high. He had dark blue hair with some parts dipping down to his shoulders, some to about halfway down his neck and some patches with no hair at all. His wings were what sacred me the most though. They were that of a gryphon (griffin?) and as a little bigger than the average stallion. The fact that he was wearing his burnt shorts like they were normal didn't help either. He must have noticed us staring because he turned around. He looked shocked for a second but then smiled an raised his hands. This of course scared me causing me to use my magic to force him to the wall. When I realized what I had done I pulled him off the wall and set him on the bed. "Ow, don't you know that raised hands indicate no harmful intentions?" he or I guess Tyler asked me "I'm sorry it just your a potentially dangerous creature and your stature is a bit intimidating" I hastily replied, not wanting to be on his bad side from the start. "It's all right Miss...?" "Twilight, Twilight Sparkle" "Thanks, anyway; It's all right Miss Sparkle although I've never been called intimidating before. Normally it's blue haired freak" I stood there shocked. I looked to my friends and they wore the same expression as me. It was a surprise to hear him talk fluent Equestrian but to be so polite. For a second I forgot why I ever felt threatened by him but them I remembered, he could just be sweet talking me to lower my guard. "Excuse us for a second I need to discuss something with my friends" I said to him before turning around. "Ok listen," I began in a hushed tone "I don't trust him so I plan to get him locked up until I get enough information out of him. For now I'm just going to be polite and begin introductions then ask him some basic questions about himself ok?" I asked "Ah don't see the reason behind this but Ah trust you enough to know what your doing Twi'" said Applejack The others simply nodded although Rarity and Fluttershy look a bit hesitant. "Thank you for waiting, allow me to introduce myself properly. My name is Twilight Sparkle local librarian and one of the 4 alicorn Princesses of Equestria" "And I'm Rainbow Dash, fastest flyer in all of Equestria and, future Wonderbolts captain." said Rainbow with a cocky smile Next was Applejack. She went straight up to him and started shaking his hand furiously. "Name's Applejack, local farmer at Sweet Apple acres. Along with my family of course." she finished as she backed off. Surprisingly the next pony to introduce herself was Fluttershy. "My name is Fluttershy. I'm the local veterinarian and care taker of lots of animals. It's a pleasure to meet you." Everypony was shocked, save Rarity for some reason. Fluttershy is always so... shy! She's never been that confident in speaking to any new pony. Before anyone could comment though Rarity step forward. "A pleasure to meet you Darling, my name is Rarity fashionista and local seamstress of Ponyville." and then it was quiet. "I thought there was six of you" said Tyler. It's weird using that name, not just because it's completely abnormal. It's mainly because he hasn't introduced himself yet. Suddenly Pinkie appeared out of no where and jumped onto his bed. "Hi my name is Pinkie Pie baker and official welcomer of new ponies to Ponyville." she said with a face splitting smile. "Well then, now that you've all introduced yourselves I guess I should do the same. My name is Tyler..." "What's wrong?" asked Applejack "I... I can't remember my full name" he said "I know my first name is Tyler but then it's a blank..." "Well then, Tyler is fine until we find a way to jog your memory a bit" said Rarity "Ok then. My name is Tyler and I've jut finished high school back home and I'm a survivor of a war that I was forced into 3 years ago. I had no job back home and had no clue what I wanted to be." For the 3rd time that day I was speechless. This stallion who couldn't be much older than any of us had been forced to go to war 3 years ago. I was about to say something when an unknown voice started singing. "Now, this is a story all about how My life got flipped-turned upside down And I'd like to take a minute Just sit right there I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air" Again being scared by the voice my immediate reaction was to restrain Tyler. The singing continued as Rarity walked over to Tyler. She leaned down and I saw that she was telling him something, he responded and Rarity motioned for me to let up on the magic. Tyler then sat up reached into his pocket and pulled out a rectangle. He pushed a button on top and touched the centre of it. When he was finished the song abruptly stopped. He put the thing back into his pocket and turned to face us. "Sorry about that. My phone has an alarm set to ring at 8:30 each Sunday morning to let me know I've probably been up for another 48 hours." and before anyone could respond everything went black. When I got my vision back the creature was gone and so was Fluttershy. "I knew it!" I shouted "I knew he was dangerous, I knew he would pull something as soon as we let our guards down! Ok girls we need to find him. Spread out around the city. You know what he looks like, also look out for Fluttershy, he probably took her. And with that the hunt was on!
UpdateAlright so I have obviously been slacking on making new chapters for this. I have good reason. The first is well, summer happened. You guys know how summer is. Although I did find lots of time to write... Ok so the first thing is well, I got lazy during summer. I started playing LoL during the last month of school (July) and kinda got hooked. In August I had set a goal for my self in League. Go from lvl 10 to lvl 30 before school started back up. I am proud to say I did achieve this with 2 weeks to spare. (I did spend about 100$ on it though. So worth it). Anywho, all the time I found it good to write I ended up playing a match. I told myself "Ok, one more match then I'll write the next chapter" Well 1 match turned into 2 and 2 into 20 so yeah... The second reason is I'm torn between 2 ways I want to take the story. I'll explain that in the next chapter which, hopefully, I can get out for you guys by the end of next week. No promises cause school and stuff but I'll try. The third reason is, I have plenty of ideas for how I want the story to progress but I can't find a way to get them in a coherent order past the next chapter. Again I'll explain in the A/N for the next chapter. But I digress, so anyway next chapter should be out by next Saturday, I hope. Also a big shout out to those who have favourited the story. That gives me more incentive to write so the more favs, the more I'll want to write for you guys. Thanks for reading and check back next week :)
Chapter 5: Well ShitAl right before you all start saying I acted like a little bitch or something along those lines, I didn't. I acted in the most manly way possible; I shrieked and ran. Yep, totally manly. Anyway, I ran for maybe 10 metres before I realized, it's dark as hell and there are tons of trees around. Needless to say, I ran into a tree rather hard and may or may not have knocked myself out. I woke up to a rather bright light shining in my eyes. For fear of being blinded and/or seeing the thing I tried so hard to run away from I kept my eyes clamped shut. This was all in vane as my eyes were forced open. The light then subsided and I found myself staring into the darkness of the forest once again. "Ah it worked," said the voice from before. "We thought you have been more resilient to Our magic." Magic? What the hell is this thing talking about? As if it read my mind the thing spoke again, (Still couldn't see it) "Yes, magic. Also I'm an Alicorn not a thing." It was then that this "alicorn" decided to show itself from directly in front of me a tall dark blue thing walked out of the trees. It looked pretty similar to the ones that I had previously met. If I had to guess I would say it, no she, was about 7 feet tall; give or take a few inches. Like I said previously she was covered in dark blue fur but also sported a fairly large pair of wings and a horn. I could tell you what she was wearing but it's kinda unimportant. I was still in shock about her appearance that I didn't notice her start a fire. I opened my mouth to say something but got no chance as I was suddenly trapping in a bone crushing hug. This "alicorn" currently had her arms wrapped around my chest and was crying into my shoulder. I would have complained but I couldn't get any air to breath so all that came out were gasps. Just as suddenly as it happened I found myself able to breath again and the woman was sitting across the fire from me. Oh did I mention that I didn't notice the fire? Cause it scared the shit outta me when I saw it. "Tyler," the alicorn began, her voice broken. "We, I must apologize. It is my fault you are here and my fault I have no way to send you back." I was about to ask what she meant when I was cut off by the beginning of a rant. "I'm sure you realized by now that this isn't Earth" And she broke me, "I cannot express how sorry I am that this event has unfolded but you need to listen to me very careful if you want to survive." "Whoa whoa whoa," I said. "I'm sorry but did you say this isn't Earth?" She sighed as if she expected this questions. "Yes We, ugh we me I, did," she cursed under her breath "You must forgive me, I'm still learning how to speak like a normal citizen, I'm afraid not having been around for 1000 years has made this quite difficult. But yes this isn't Earth, or at least not your Earth." All fragments of my mind that I had collected I lost. So I really was on another world, but apparently she didn't know how to get me back! I looked her straight in the eyes, my gaze was hollow, one of a broken man. Her eyes, still filled with remnants of tears, were filled with sorrow and regret. "You're kidding right?" I asked in a whisper. "You're fucking kidding right?" She looked away, "I'm sorry but I'm not. I would not joke about such a serious thing. We've spent the last 2 weeks trying to figure out how to break this to you delicately. We guess it didn't work as well as We planned." That was the final straw. The finally block fell down and the flood gates opened. I fell onto my back and wept. The thing that had caused this mad no effort to move she just looked at me with those huge eyes. It may have been only a few minutes but it felt like and eternity later the tears stopped. I sat up and wiped the last of the liquid off my face. She looked away from me and only 2 words came out of my mouth. "What now?" She must have been fighting with herself but she did manage to look at me."I can send your conscious back one full day, so to a few hours before you woke up from the coma, or we can go into Ponyville, find Twilight Sparkle and the other elements and explain the situation." "3 things," is my reply. "The first, why only a day? The second, how long was I in a coma, and how long have a been here?" "I can only do 1 day because it is a small enough amount of magic that it won't cause the universe to tear apart, and only me and my sister will be able to feel the ripple in time. To answer your other questions, you were in a coma for 2 and a half weeks. and here for just over 3." How the fuck was I hear for 3 weeks but only in a coma for 2 and a half? The last thing I remember is being in excruciating pain. I can't think about it now though, I have to much on my mind already. I can only thing of one thing to say. "Well, shit" and then darkness.
Chapter 6: 'Scuse but What?"Whoa, Whoa, Whoa" I say, "Back the fuck up for a second. Why did I get so calm after you just explained how you ripped me from my world and said you have no known way of sending me back for some unexplained reason." As if by, well magic I guess, my anger returned with a vengeance. "I can explain everything in a few minutes time. But first we need to get you out of this forest. We may be a princess but this places still scares Us." she replied Without even waiting for any verification that this was ok from me she just got up and started walking. Based on what she said the only way I would find out what's going on was to follow her so I did just that. We walked for easily 5 minutes before the glow from the moon was remotely visible. Another 5 and we were out of the forest. I tried to ask where she was leading me but I got no response. She did look lost in thought so I couldn't get to mad for not getting an answer. I'm not sure how much longer we walked after we left the tree line but eventually we came to the edge of the town I fled from earlier. The alicorn brightened up significantly as we approached the first set of houses. Just before were went into the town proper however she turned and looked at me. "Before we go any further I need an answer." she said "Answer to what? You mean about either finding these "Elements" or sending my consciousness back a day to when I woke up in the hospital?" I asked "Precisely" "Well you never really gave me time to think about it. But going off what my gut is telling me let's just go into town. I'm not sure that, "sending me back in time" would have lead to any different results because I wouldn't know what's going to happen if I act the same way." I replied and with that she turned and started back off into the town. I still didn't know where we were going exactly but I did know one thing, I had to face the ponies from the hospital. The purple one, Twilight Sparkle, was apparently not to friendly towards me entirely based on my look. Kinda racist if you think about it. Anyway as we approached what looked to be a hollowed out tree I started to notice a few things were off. First my hearing was way too good. I could mine and the alicorn's footsteps as you might expected but I could also hear a faint swooshing sound. I wasn't to sure what it could have been since there wasn't any wind. That's when I took notice of her tail. Each time it waved from side to side it made a small swoosh. Anyways the second thing that seemed off way a huge pain in the middle of my back. I just chalked it up to leaning against that tree in the forest though. So maybe it was only 1 thing that was off. I was pulled out of my thoughts when the Alicorn, "Jeez I really need to figure out her name. Calling her just "Alicorn is starting to get old", stopped in font of a tree and knocked on the door. Said door opened wide to reveal those that I didn't really want to see. The same 6 ponies that had come to see me in the hospital. Twilight warmly greeted the Alicorn and queered why she was here that's when she saw me. Everyone inside had somehow noticed me trying in vain to hid behind the still unnamed pony. That's when the purple unicorn finally said something that was directed at me. "There you are. You are so lucky that Fluttershy is ok, and you're lucky you're with the princess or else I would beat you up so bad you would wish I had killed you!" she said. "Twilight Sparkle! That is unacceptable behaviour," said the princess, "I'll have you know that Tyler here is completely innocent and means none of us any harm!" Well none of you is a bit of a stretch, I'm considered beating the shit out of purple and blue for several reasons. I thought Twilight sighed, "Sorry Princess Luna," Aha so she does have a name "I was just worried that he was violent and I'm a little overprotective of my friends in case you didn't notice." After that had happened Twilight ushered me and Luna into the tree which turns out is a library. I walked past the other 5 ponies and a small lizard standing on two legs. They each had a different expression written on their faces. Rarity had relief, Fluttershy had concern, Pinkie was just smiling at me, Rainbow and Applejack had varying degrees of worry and the lizard looked furious. I sat down at the bottom of a staircase while Twilight and Luna sat down on some chairs. Silence reigned over the room, until I decided to break it. "So," I casually started, "Is that purple thing a dragon?" I was actually not surprised when it replied in a young kids voice, and one that wasn't angry at all, "Of course I am, but I'm still only a baby, name's Spike" I was about to speak up again when Luna cut in, "Well now that we all know each other I believe I have some explaining to do to everyone. But before I start I want everyone to swear not to tell anypony else what I'm about to tell you." Anypony? Well that was a new one. I thought "Well then I guess I shall start. Tyler, you'll have to excuse me for this but," Luna began. I was about to ask what she said when I suddenly grew very tired. By the looks of it everyone else in the room, save Luna, got tired to and next thing I knew I was out.
Chapter 4.5: Phone (Tyler's POV)A/N This part of chapter picks up AFTER Tyler runs from Twilight and co. It is simply a filler do the next chapter doesn't have any plot holes. It also exist because I don't want to write a full chapter right now :P I ran like my life depended on it and for all I know it does. I wasn't sure where I was going. The yellow pony, Fluttershy I believe told me to run through town to the edge of the forest. I would have flown seeing as I somehow have wings now but I lacked the knowledge of how to use them. But I listened to her and ran. I still wasn't sure why they helped me. You'd think if a new species was discovered 2 people sent to contain it would let it go behind the others back. Well whatever, I most likely owe my life to them. I guess I should briefly explain why I'm in this situation. Back in my hospital room when my phone alarm went off Rarity walked over to me and whispered in my ear, "I know this will sound weird but I'm going to help you get out of here. Twilight wants to lock you up until she learns that you are 100% not dangerous. Anyways see Fluttershy over there? When I give the signal I want you to go over to her as quietly as possible, she'll help you out. Listen to whatever she says." So now I'm running from a possibly crazy humanoid pony who wants to lock me up and study me. I had just made it to the forest edge when I looked over my shoulder. In the distance I could see a moving blur. It wasn't until it was about 30 feet from me did I notice it was Rainbow Dash. I decided to ignore Fluttershy's warnings of the creatures in the forest and ran in failing to hear he cries for me to stop so she could talk to me. I ran a good 50 metres into the forest when the exhaustion hit me. I guess the adrenaline wore off from the panic of being chased. I slumped down against a tree and closed my eyes. I must have dozed off because I woke up and it was completely dark out. I wasn't too worried though I was close enough to the edge of the forest that if need be, I could make a break for it. I was just about to fall asleep again when I heard a twig snap. Immediately I jumped up and look towards the sound. There, not 10 feet from me was a figure. It took a step forward and said one word, "Tyler"
