Burning, searing pain... so unimaginable, that the only thing holding me together was sure will. I normally relished in the glory of the wind gracing my face, but now... now, its sting was lethal. My gold and white wings thrashed against the wind. My beautiful, long red hair draped my eyes. I only managed to slow myself slightly before the head rush of falling hundreds of meters made me fall unconscious.
I awoke to the pain of my head which was apparently in some a bush or from what I could tell. My hair was tangled in the twigs of the bush and as far as I knew my wings had broken in the landing. “Where am I, the last thing I remember, was being banished for sinning. How did I sin? The only thing I know is that I am in a place known to us angels as paradise.” I thought to myself in bewilderment recalling the prior day, months, years? How long has it been since I've fallen. I had to think hard to remem(editing check)ber.
I remember the golden roads, the people, my fellow angels. Then a summons, He spoke to me about sin, and how I was banished for sinning. He stripped me of my title my immortality, even my pure-hearted mind. I’m now just a human, but he granted me two mercies. He left me my wings, and sent me to the place called paradise. I've never been here, but it’s better than earth.
I laid in that bush as I felt the sun beating down on my shattered wings. I decided it was time to see the world to which I had been banished to, and pushed myself up and trudged onward my feet and soul solemn, only held together by these humane tendons. I’d never felt pain before. It was a strange feeling.
I crooked my neck and observed my surroundings, behind me I noted the city, that was quite near to me, I must be in the outskirts of it. I decided that would head towards it. Better than wandering aimlessly around the world that was oh so confusing.
With a limp in my step I trudged towards the golden, white city. It was on a cliff with a marvelous waterfall. Foliage surrounded the area sparsely, mountains and hills were off in the distance. The sun was rising in the sky. “Well, at least it’s day,” I stated idly.
It was a decent walk to the front gates. Once there I concluded that I had hit my head harder than I thought. There were Ponies at the gate. They appeared to be guarding it.
“Weapons at the ready men! Make sure the beast gets nowhere near Canterlot!”
“Wait, please I am no beast. I am, or was an angel. I just ask for hospitality,”
“Hear that, those are the threats it’s making to hurt your foals. Stand fast,” The guard in charge shouted orders at the others who appeared to be insubordinate.
A feeling of terror filled my voice, “No, did you not hear me. Please stop...” I was cut off by a kick to the face by the nearest of the guards.
I roused from slumber on the cold stone floor. My head was killing me, I rubbed the ever growing welt, only causing it to throb more. Opening my golden eyes and saw the face of a grey pony adorned in armor standing over me.
“What sort of creature are you? Hey guys! What should we do with it? I mean it’s injured pretty badly, should we take it to a medic?”
“What’s a medic going to do private? We’ve never seen something like this before, the only one who may be of any help is the Princesses themselves,” Said a vague undefined voice.
“Well, it’s against our nature to let things suffer. Shackle it up and carry it to the princess.”
Now a white one approached with chains in his mouth. It was only now I noted that a great many had wings, few had horns, and some were normal. The chains were placed around my arms, wings, and legs. I grimaced with how brutally they threw them around my wings. The ponies put me on a cot and carried me, none too gently either. The stopping and jolting of their movement made me even more sore.
While traverseing through the city I noted the exceding amount of poshly dressed ponies. It must be some sort of rich city, I suppose that explains why the Princess lives here. The strange looks I recived from them, to them I was nothing more than a strange creature, they were the strange ones not I.
It was that which made me remember that I was banished from my home, I was now trapped here forever more. I can’t even die, I’ll just get sent back. I am now, human. Despite my wings. Thats the only reminder I had left of where I came from or who I was. It almost made weap in despair. I closed my eyes for the remainder of the trip.
The cot was set down with a clash and I opened my eyes with a start. We must be here
“My fellow guards, why have you brought this thing to the princess.” A new voice declared
“It is injured and we have not the knolwdge to treat it. We needed the aid of Her benevolence.” The voice I recognized as the captain spoke.
With a grumble the first voice spoke. “Well it’s chained so I suppose it’d be all right. I’ll let you in,”
There was a click, then a groaning as the massive doors opened. The cot was lifted once more and I was carried inside, about three meters inside I was set down, gently this time. I got the hint and stood, to the best of my abilities, on my own. Not a step forward and I lifted my head.
It was then that I saw her, a coat of flawless white, a mane of the colors of the early dawn. Her eyes magenta, she had wings and a horn, she was, heavenly.
