This'll end badly. Also, please note that this is purely practice (well not really) to get into writing seriously for my next fic Humble Water's Journey Enjoy. _-_-_-_-_-_ Evan had just finished his preparations to go to bed. Just as he got into the soft blankets and settled in, he heard loud crash. This was odd, because there were supposed to be all quiet nights for a month as his parents went out on a vacation to Hawaii, his brother had recently become an exchange student for a couple months along with that, his sister moved to be independant, and there has never been a burglary in this neighbourhood... ever. Being prepared for anything, Evan reached over and grabbed his knife off his bedside table and sneaked over his dirty laundry, around his bedframe, and up to his door. Carefully, and without making a single sound, he grasped his hands around the handle to his door and slowly lowered it. Evan pulled the door open just enough for a 16 year old boy to slip through, and slid through the door without a sound. Evan sneaked over to the railing of his stairwell and leaned over. Everything in his home seemed peaceful. 'Hm, must've just been my imagination.. might as well head back into my roo-' He ended his strain of thought when he saw a small pony, looking dazed, and having a height of about his waist; approximately. He knew, without thinking twice that this was Twilight Sparkle, holder of the Element of Magic. Almost unable to hold his astonishment, he dismissed it thinking that it was probably a hallucination from being awake for 3 days straight. He lowered his knife and went to back to his room and closed the door. Softly. Just as he layed down and and was about to fall asleep, he heard some sort of light buzzing, and the door clicking open.. his last thought before blacking out was 'Wait.. what?!' _-_-_-_-_-_ Surging through wormholes, flying through a vortex and apssing all kinds of holes in the space. She counted: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5" as her friends; her fellow Elements, flew through different holes, landing into different holes in the space. she wondered for a brief moment when her time to go through one would come. Flying through teleportation wormholes really gave you time to think, And Twilight Sparkle knew that very well. She just couldn't believe what had happened in Equestria, she had even gone over the physics of it multiple times. And it had still not made a lick of sense. An alien arriving in Ponyville, of all places. Too bad it didn't listen to reason, or listen at all. The lavender unicorn went over the increasingly strange events that had taken place that day multiple times, but it still didn't make any sense what-so-ever. Knowing Pinky Pie, she automatically went up to the strange creature in an attempt to make friends, and that's when they learned it's evil intentions... Suddenly, a frightening yellowish-brown light covered Twilight and all her surroundings, it was almost blinding... She closed her eyes and braced for impact... ...And landed. Hard. "Aaaagh, my head..." Twilight groaned as she looked around the bland, dim-lighted, room. Barely being able to see that here hooves were, in fact, right in front of her face, she noted she was on a carpet of some kind, and was able to note that, wherever she was, the inhabitants were not barbaric and crude. But then she heard a noise. The mare's ears perked up, and listened. It had come from above, it almost sounded as if it was a door closed, in an attempt to be muffled. She heard a small click and knew, that indeed, it had been a door being closed. Twilight Sparkle looked up and saw some light being shone through the bottom of a closed door, and saw a way to get there... through a long flight of wooden stairs. But that was all she saw, as the light was quickly diminished to black nothing-ness. Placing a veil of magic over her own hooves, she silently climbed the stairs and went up to -what she presumed- the door the light was coming out of. Multi-tasking her magic, she was able to open the door with a small click and proceeded through the open door. _-_-_-_-_-_ O-okay, Now I KNOW I'm dreaming. The brown haired - blue eyed 16 year old woke up without any grace, lightly pushed a pillow that was lying across his foot away and rolled out of bed. He picked up his watch and looked at the time. 2:42 PM He pumped his fist up into the air and yelled at the top of his lungs "YES! NEW BUCKING RECORD!" He had yelled so loud that the pillow yelped and fell off his bed. Evan got up, manouvered around his bedframe and strutted out the door. He pulled his blue striped bathrobe off it's hanger and walked down the stairs. He pulled out his X-BRICK 360 controller and held down the big brown X in the middle of the controller. He smiled as he heard the surround sound of his TV boom around him. He moseyed on over to the kitchen where he prepared the frying pan and the stove for his usual lazy breakfast/lunch. A pair of sunny-side up eggs, a piece of toast, and 4 pieces of bacon. The boy turned on the stove fan turned around to see a grumpy looking unicorn staring at him. He jumped up in utter suprise and shock. "GAH! WHERE'D YOU COME FROM?!" He yelled in utter suprise. "Dunno, a wormhole?" The Pony replied. "I-uhm am just going to go in this direction now and find my anti-insanity pills.." Evan chuckled and started slowly backing away toward the kitchen. Twilight followed. Okay.. Maybe that wasn't a sleep deprived hallucination... Evan thought to himself. Evan reached into a drawer inside his kitchen and pulled out a steak knife and a fork... _-_-_-_-_-_ Just outside the kitchen, a purple mare's eyes dilated. She thought she knew what was going to happen. This pony's going to eat me! Twilight whimpered and started cowering away from the strange being. She didn't get too far though, because the unicorn bumped against some sort of large pillar. "Pleasedon'teatmeallI'mdoinghereisfindingsomewheretostayasEquestriaisbeingdemolishedbyanevilspaceinvader anditwasreallyscarypleasedonthurtme!" Twilight just barely breathed out before making a globe of magic surround her. The strange two-hooved creature just stood there, staring at her, looking very sorry and frightened. "I-I don't know what to say to that, or... do. So I'm just going to get back to making breakfast." And just as the creature said that, Twilight Sparkle's stomach rumbled. It looked at the unicorn with a sudden realization. Twilight really isn't prepared for this, she doesn't know anything about us humans... Maybe I'll make her a quick salad. 30 minutes later. Twilight had not moved an inch, worried that if she had moved from her spot, her strong hunger would easily dissapate the shield. She heard a smal clatter of a plate on the floor in front of her. she also heard the creature silently curse under his breath. she heard a couple footsteps away from it, and then silence. The unicorn finally opened her eyes 3 minutes later to see a beautifully prepared salad, sitting on a plate just in front of her. Carefully and without a sound, she crept up to the bowl, lifted it with her magic up ofd the decorated stone floor, and quickly and silently went back with her back against the pillar. She hadn't eaten in a day, and she didn't care if it was poisoned or not, she just wanted to eat soemthing. She practically breathed the whole thing down. Halfway through, she heard a voice saying "What? You aren't going to enjoy it? A carefully prepared salad with fresh herbs and dressing that took 20 minutes to make?" It said jokingly. Twilight felt somewhat embarrassed and looked at the bowl. Barely one minute in and she had already eaten three quarters of it. Only then did she notice the creature sitting at a table to the right of her, looking at her with a pleading smile. Realizing that maybe the... thing wasn't so bad, she smiled back a small smile. "Maybe if I play my cards right he won't- no. he's still planning on eating me, he's giving me a false sense of security." Twilight sparkle quickly hid the smile and looked back at her food. "And maybe, you just don't trust me. And maybe, you shouldn't think out loud next time." Twilight looked up again, the creature wasn't smiling anymore. It looked hurt. "I-I'm sorry, I just thought that.. that when I-I got to wherever I was going, I would act tough.. I-I would; for dominance-" "-Punch the alien in the snout to declare dominance?" It laughed half-heartedly. "What?" Twilight looked confused. "Nevermind, inside joke." "Uhm, okay?" Twilight wasn't amused. _-_-_-_-_-_ "You know that there are infinite alternate realities to yours and mine, right?" Evan asked. "Well, yeah. Duh." The mare replied. "Oh, and by the way; completely off topic. My name is Evan." "Alright, 'Eevane.' My name is Twilight Sparkle." "Uh, my- eh- um. Whatever. Nevermind what I said before." Evan looked at the time: 8:46 PM "Hey, Twilight, do you want to take a w- Actually, nevermind that, I didn't say anything." He quickly discarded the idea. "A wal-?" she got interrupted by a loud ringing noise. "What was that?!" Evan looked around, looking for something. A couple seconds later, he picked up a strange little grey rectangle, about the size of small book. "What do you want? No. No you can't. No. No. Maybe. Nah, not right now. Wait wha- What? You're stupid. Bye. No, no dude, no.. Agh! Bye. Bye! Ugh..." Evan started pacing around the room, thinking. What am I going to do? My friend is coming over and he can't actually see Twilight, Who knows what could happen? Well, I know It'll definitely be awkward.. He looked up and saw The Lavender Unicorn staring out the window. He knew she wasn't happy here, and he knew she didn't really trust him at all. But, wait. What would happen if I told her about the show? Or if she even found out, how would she react? OOOH DIS IS BAD. Wait a 'tic, I just realized. Twilight Sparkle is in my house. What the BUCK. "Twilight?" He said, suddenly. The mare jumped and almost hit her head "W-What is it?" "I can't let people know I have a talking unicorn-alien - sorry about that by the way. You aren't an alen. - harbored in my house, do you think you can, I dunno, go upstairs for a bit? I mean if you don't mind that is.." "You sound a little like Fluttershy when you said that... Anyway, sure 'Master'" Twilight Emphasized the Master part. Thinking quickly, knowing that he shouldn't know about the mane six, he uttered a single question. "Fluttershy?" And hoped he sounded curious. "Nothing..." _-_-_-_-_-_ Just as Twilight reached the top of the stairs, Evan heard a knock on his door. That Evan is one strange character. The night before, she hadn't really gotten time to explore this new place, maybe even learn a few things about his kind's nature. As she was exploring, she found a load of books. She was pleased to learn that they were all written in a language she could understand; English, and began reading some. One book she found was very nifty. It was a portable encyclopedia on every different type of word, called a 'Dictionary'. She wondered why there weren't any in Equestria, and discarded the thought. Through all the books, she found that some of the 'Human' history is alot like Equestrian history. And while she was reading through the dictionary, she found one page she didn't really like for some reason. It was on the Humans' anatomy, but for some reason, she just didn't like it, at all. Mostly because of two words. She didn't like to talk about them either. She had heard lots of noises downstairs; like explosions, fire, big 'bangs', electricity, but decided not to dwell on the matter. Walking around this big, beautiful new world, made her feel all alone. but then Hoborg- I mean Twilight get's an Idea. Maybe she can find some magic spell she can use to peer into other universes to see her friends. She started looking for spellbooks, but for some reason, after hours of searching, found no one. Twilight had given up, she didn't know what to do. All was silent. Untill she head a voice, different from Evan's, say "You know what? it's getting late. I'm going to head ho-" It was interrupted by a more familliar voice saying "- Okay that's great, Etienne. now if you'll excuse me I've got some internet to explore on my computer okay bye." Then a door slamming. Twilight had gone back to what she was thinking of. Why didn't this Human have any magic books? They were obviously different species, but maybe there were multiple types of humans? She didn't know. She had heard of magic in some of the books, but she didn't quite understand why this human; Evan didn't practice it. "Hey Twilight?" Evan had broken her train of thought. Twilight looked up and saw him in a completely different set of clothes. Evan sure did like to change his clothes alot. I think Rarity would have much to talk about with him. Twilight chuckled at the thought. Realizing that evan was still waiting for her to answer, she looked at him questionally, as if to ask if there was something up. "I've got an extra room where I let guests stay, would you mind retiring to go there for the night? I mean, if you're tired." The mare thought about it. She realized he was right when she felt her eyelids getting heavy and a yawn erupting from her throat. "It's just to the left... literally." She looked behind her and saw an open door. She could easily figure out that this was one of the rooms she got her books from. She nodded and went into the room, where she almost immediately fell asleep on the matress. ___________ Something Strange...Twilight woke with a start. She looked around the unfamiliar room and panicked for a split-second. She then realised that she wasn't in Ponyville, but in a creature, properly called "human"'s house, on a planet called earth. Her ears perked up, she heard noises coming out of her room, thumping, shuffling around, mostly just in the sense of running around and making noise. she tossed aside the dimly coloured blankets with her magic, focusing only for a second to levitate them. She looked around her room. It was a brightly coloured square room, adorned with a wardrobe and a small bookcase. There was a small bedside table near her. She put her ear next to the door and confirmed her suspicions. The 'human' named Evan was running up and down the wooden stairs, although he was in a rush to do multiple things. A small purple glow apeared around the door as Twilight pulled the door open with her magic. There was no sight of the creature around the upstairs area. She slowly started to descend the stairs when she heard a familiar voice cry out. "Aw, shat I forgot my wallet." She heard him sprinting more and in a few seconds saw him on the staircase, bewildered as though he had never seen her before. Like the two days before, he was wearing something different. Today, black pants and a black polo shirt. His mane was discheveled and he was wearing a big black and grey bag on his back. "Good morning." The unicorn spoke in a dull voice, still groggy from sleep. "What's got you in a hurry?" The man didn't speak for a second, but then she heard him. "Oh." He then brought his hand up to his forhead and smacked it hard. "I completely forgot that you were here, Twilight. Uh, I guess, I don't know... Make youself at home? I've got to go get my wallet and the I'm out the door to catch my bus. Food is in the fridge, which is in the kitchen, which is down the stairs to your left. I think. I really have to go so can you just? Yeah..." He spoke in a hurried tone, as if he was late. He then sped up the stairs right past Twilight and into a room that she could remember she had been into her first night there. He emerged several seconds later with a small brown rectangle clutched in his right hand. In the meantime, however, Twilight had settled herself at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for him. As she saw Evan speeding into view, she raised her hoof and waved it to show her presence. Evan had stopped in his tracks when he saw her. "Twilight, could you please move? I need to leave... Now..." He almost pleaded "Can I ask you where you're going, leaving me abandonned here inside your humble aboad without any instruction except where the fridge is?" She replied with a sense of annoyance around her. "Ah, well, I-I need to get to school, for, you know, education?" "I see, well, I have no reason to keep you waiting. I think." "Well, thank you, I'll be off then." Evan quickly jogged down the steps and jumped over the pony lying down at the base of the stairs. "W-wait, I still need to-" Twilight stuttered But he had already left. With an almighty slam, the door was shut. She looked around, the house was dead quiet, and the lavender mare noticed that she was indeed hungry, and went to look for the fabled fridge in the forest of kitchen. _____________ ...9 hours later... Evan was walking down the street, brown headphones around his neck, good book in his hands, walking down the street towards the house in which he lives. But something caught his eye, a small purple figure was walking around the other side of the street, slowly trotting in the same direction he was. "Uh, T-Twilight? W-what are you doing out here?" Evan was panicking, seeing a unicorn just walking down the street was not a common sight on earth "Well, I had been just taking a walk around, see what this universe is like. Why? Is it wrong for me to do that?" The mare seemed to be untouched, unhurt. "Well, not that I want you to take this the wrong way, but sort of. Yes." "And why is that?" "Because around 99% of the human race has never seen a unicorn in..." The man brings up his hand to his face, slowly raising finger by finger, as if counting. "... pretty much ever." "Well maybe you should stop worrying because I didn't see anyone on the street other than my own shadow." Evan felt relieved, like a great weight was lifted from his heart. He quickly hushed twilight down the pavement into the safety of the large house. Closing the old black door behind him and locking the brass mehcanism tight, he led her upstairs back to where she had slept the night before. But not before he heard her stomach growl loudly. With a frown, Evan jogged back down the stairs and started cooking a meal fit for both of them. Halfway through, while he was chopping up tomatoes for a fresh salad, he heard a large rapping at the door. He quickly gazed at the mare, still keeping a bowl of potatoes in a spell of levitation, who understood the gaze and quickly trotted up the steps to her room. Evan wiped his hands on his apron and walked quietly to the door. Unlocking it, he opened the door to see two men dressed in black suits. One a large, bulky bald man with a small goatee, breathing heavily. The other a short, stocky man, staring daggers into Evan. "est-ce que je peut t'aider?" (Can I help you?) The short stocky man speaks up. "Oui. Mon nom est Jaques Prinnop est je veut parler a tes parents, s'il vouz plait." (Yes you can. My name is Jack Prinnop. May I speak to your parents please.) He then lans over to his partner and whispers to him "Freaking frenchies.." Quickly interrupting him, Evan throws in a quick "They're not here, I'm in charge and I'm kind of in the middle of something." Shocked, he speaks again. "I'm sorry, Ma'am, but we have been getting strange reports that there was a 'short purple horse with a ice cream cone stuck to it's head' walking around this vicinity." Evan frowns. "For one thing, I'm a guy. For a second thing, I have no idea why they would say such a thing. If you've come to ask me if I've seen it, my answer will be no." "Well, at least your sort of sane." "Sort of?" "We must be off. Be careful around this neighbourhood." Evan slams the door and walks back to what he was doing, then bursts into laughter. murmuring things like 'wierd' 'short purple horse with a ice cream cone stuck to it's head' 'I'm a dude' and other ramblings of the sort. Without hesitation he asks out "I thought you said you and your shadow were the only two people there?" No answer. "Hm, I knew something smelled fishy. Something strange is going on..." _____________

Something Strange...Twilight woke with a start.
