Earthly Twilight
Something Strange...
Previous ChapterTwilight woke with a start. She looked around the unfamiliar room and panicked for a split-second. She then realised that she wasn't in Ponyville, but in a creature, properly called "human"'s house, on a planet called earth.
Her ears perked up, she heard noises coming out of her room, thumping, shuffling around, mostly just in the sense of running around and making noise. she tossed aside the dimly coloured blankets with her magic, focusing only for a second to levitate them. She looked around her room. It was a brightly coloured square room, adorned with a wardrobe and a small bookcase. There was a small bedside table near her.
She put her ear next to the door and confirmed her suspicions. The 'human' named Evan was running up and down the wooden stairs, although he was in a rush to do multiple things. A small purple glow apeared around the door as Twilight pulled the door open with her magic. There was no sight of the creature around the upstairs area. She slowly started to descend the stairs when she heard a familiar voice cry out.
"Aw, shat I forgot my wallet."
She heard him sprinting more and in a few seconds saw him on the staircase, bewildered as though he had never seen her before. Like the two days before, he was wearing something different. Today, black pants and a black polo shirt. His mane was discheveled and he was wearing a big black and grey bag on his back.
"Good morning." The unicorn spoke in a dull voice, still groggy from sleep. "What's got you in a hurry?"
The man didn't speak for a second, but then she heard him.
"Oh." He then brought his hand up to his forhead and smacked it hard. "I completely forgot that you were here, Twilight. Uh, I guess, I don't know... Make youself at home? I've got to go get my wallet and the I'm out the door to catch my bus. Food is in the fridge, which is in the kitchen, which is down the stairs to your left. I think. I really have to go so can you just? Yeah..." He spoke in a hurried tone, as if he was late.
He then sped up the stairs right past Twilight and into a room that she could remember she had been into her first night there. He emerged several seconds later with a small brown rectangle clutched in his right hand.
In the meantime, however, Twilight had settled herself at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for him. As she saw Evan speeding into view, she raised her hoof and waved it to show her presence. Evan had stopped in his tracks when he saw her.
"Twilight, could you please move? I need to leave... Now..." He almost pleaded
"Can I ask you where you're going, leaving me abandonned here inside your humble aboad without any instruction except where the fridge is?" She replied with a sense of annoyance around her.
"Ah, well, I-I need to get to school, for, you know, education?"
"I see, well, I have no reason to keep you waiting. I think."
"Well, thank you, I'll be off then."
Evan quickly jogged down the steps and jumped over the pony lying down at the base of the stairs.
"W-wait, I still need to-" Twilight stuttered
But he had already left. With an almighty slam, the door was shut.
She looked around, the house was dead quiet, and the lavender mare noticed that she was indeed hungry, and went to look for the fabled fridge in the forest of kitchen.

...9 hours later...
Evan was walking down the street, brown headphones around his neck, good book in his hands, walking down the street towards the house in which he lives. But something caught his eye, a small purple figure was walking around the other side of the street, slowly trotting in the same direction he was.
"Uh, T-Twilight? W-what are you doing out here?" Evan was panicking, seeing a unicorn just walking down the street was not a common sight on earth
"Well, I had been just taking a walk around, see what this universe is like. Why? Is it wrong for me to do that?" The mare seemed to be untouched, unhurt.
"Well, not that I want you to take this the wrong way, but sort of. Yes."
"And why is that?"
"Because around 99% of the human race has never seen a unicorn in..." The man brings up his hand to his face, slowly raising finger by finger, as if counting. "... pretty much ever."
"Well maybe you should stop worrying because I didn't see anyone on the street other than my own shadow."
Evan felt relieved, like a great weight was lifted from his heart. He quickly hushed twilight down the pavement into the safety of the large house. Closing the old black door behind him and locking the brass mehcanism tight, he led her upstairs back to where she had slept the night before. But not before he heard her stomach growl loudly.
With a frown, Evan jogged back down the stairs and started cooking a meal fit for both of them. Halfway through, while he was chopping up tomatoes for a fresh salad, he heard a large rapping at the door. He quickly gazed at the mare, still keeping a bowl of potatoes in a spell of levitation, who understood the gaze and quickly trotted up the steps to her room.
Evan wiped his hands on his apron and walked quietly to the door. Unlocking it, he opened the door to see two men dressed in black suits. One a large, bulky bald man with a small goatee, breathing heavily. The other a short, stocky man, staring daggers into Evan.
"est-ce que je peut t'aider?" (Can I help you?)
The short stocky man speaks up. "Oui. Mon nom est Jaques Prinnop est je veut parler a tes parents, s'il vouz plait." (Yes you can. My name is Jack Prinnop. May I speak to your parents please.) He then lans over to his partner and whispers to him "Freaking frenchies.."
Quickly interrupting him, Evan throws in a quick "They're not here, I'm in charge and I'm kind of in the middle of something."
Shocked, he speaks again.
"I'm sorry, Ma'am, but we have been getting strange reports that there was a 'short purple horse with a ice cream cone stuck to it's head' walking around this vicinity."
Evan frowns.
"For one thing, I'm a guy. For a second thing, I have no idea why they would say such a thing. If you've come to ask me if I've seen it, my answer will be no."
"Well, at least your sort of sane."
"Sort of?"
"We must be off. Be careful around this neighbourhood."
Evan slams the door and walks back to what he was doing, then bursts into laughter. murmuring things like 'wierd' 'short purple horse with a ice cream cone stuck to it's head' 'I'm a dude' and other ramblings of the sort. Without hesitation he asks out
"I thought you said you and your shadow were the only two people there?"
No answer.
"Hm, I knew something smelled fishy. Something strange is going on..."
