//-------------------------------------------------------// A thing unknown -by Ranbo1000- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Book Report //-------------------------------------------------------// Book Report The name of the book I chose for this book report is Brian's Return, a part of the series The Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. The story takes place in 1999 mostly in the Woods for our character, Brian. This book is mostly an adventure book that is fiction. It involves action as Brian lives in the woods, hunting for food instead of just to kill. The story is an Autobiography to the character in the story. The main character in the book is Brian, a boy that escaped the woods in the past, but wants to go back because he had become part of the woods itself. He is the survivor that knows the truth in nature, that nature is cannot be beaten, it will beat you, and you will have to change in order to survive in the woods. Caleb is another character, but not much of a main one. Caleb is the counselor, thats an ex cop, for Brian that is blind. Brian goes through challenges when he goes back, first having to get used to the woods again after being gone for a while since being rescued. Brian goes through the story remembering important lessons that he had forgotten, and even more. He main goal in the story is to get to the Smallhorns, a family that lives in the forest, the family that had saved him from the forest in the past. On his way, he finds someone else. He comes back from a hunt to find another person there, he tries to sneak up on him, but fails as the man tells him to come closer. They discuss things like how the man even knew Brian was there. After the discussion, they eat their dinner and then go to sleep, when Brian wakes up to find the man missing and he decides to continue on his journey. Latter as Brian continues on his journey, he studies more of his surroundings and learns what he has forgotten and he keeps going on his journey as the story ends. I learned that out in the forest, its a completely different story than out in the city, out in the forest, you have to adapt to your surroundings quick or you just might not make it to escape your fate no matter how close or how far. The People in the story are so realistic that yes, I would say they might actually be real to me, the emotions and actions all match up to what a person in that situation would do with their experience. There are kind and honest characters in the book, but there is also bad characters with hate and disapproval. The author is easy to understand throughout the whole story. I was pleased and slightly displeased because I had to get another book to read the rest. I have already read other books from this author, so I would say yes, I would read more from this author.
