Chapter 4

Shining Armor’s Pov (Point of View)

I walked down Canterlot streets with my little sister by my side. We both were smiling as we neared our destination, Canterlot Park. My sister and I walked towards the playground where a bunch of fillies and colts were playing around with each other.

My sister looked up at me and asked, “What are we doing here Shining?”

I replied, “Well I thought you could have some fun from being taught to use magic.”

“I prefer to learn and not play around”

“Oh come on Twiliy.”

“No. I prefer to read my book or being taught to use magic.”

“Nothing I say will change your mind will it.”

“That’s right big bro.”

“Well I could maybe give you something in return, if you play for five minutes.”

My sister looks at me with curiousness in her eyes as she waited for my bargain. I smirked knowing that I just beaten and out smarted my sister. I told her, ”Maybe we could go get some treats. You pick the place and I’ll pay for it.”

Twiliy smiled and hugged me. She said, “It’s a deal.”

I levitated her saddlebags off of her as I watched her go to the playground. I found a bench nearby and sat down on it, my sister’s saddlebags beside me. I watched Twiliy play on the playground, she was running and having fun. I smiled at the sight, my little sister having fun. Just then I spotted a strange pony in a cloak looking at the fillies and colts playing on the playground.

I just shrugged it off, probably just a brother, mother, father, sister, or a foal sitter watching their kid play. That’s when Twiliy ran up to me, and asked, “Can... Can...we go get a treat Shining?” I couldn’t help but laugh at her, she ran on the playground and she ran towards me still trying to catch her breath.

I replied, “Sure just let me put your saddlebags on you and we can go.” I looked in the direction where the cloaked pony was, and he or she was gone, disappeared into thin air. Twiliy was looking up at me and she asked, “Shining what are you looking at?”

“Hmm. Oh nothing just watching you play around is all. Come on let’s go.” I replied, knowing I lied to my sister. I put her saddlebags back on her and we walked away from Canterlot Park. I walked down the streets of Canterlot with my sister by my side. Then I heard a adult mare scream, “Somepony! Anypony stop the thief that stole my saddlebag!” I then noticed a crooked stallion holding the same adult mare saddle bag on his back. Probably a evil unicorn trying to get quick bits.

I looked down at my sister and I told her, “Twiliy. I need you to stay here. I’ll be right back.”

“Okay Big Bro. Go get the bad pony.” My sister told me. I couldn’t help but chuckle a bit.

I ran after the evil stallion, I then teleported in front of him. He crashed into me and whined, “Ow. Where did you come from?”

“I’m just a normal unicorn. Now hand over the saddlebag and nopony gets hurt.” I told him, seriously. I could probably hurt him, knowing my skills with magic, and self defense. The stallion got up, and he lunged at me. Big mistake, I grabbed him under his belly and threw him to a dumpster. As he made impact, I slowly walked towards him, I levitated the saddlebag from him, and I began to walk away.

Just then the royal guard appeared, along with Princess Celestia. I bowed down immediately. The she put a hoof under my chin, I looked straight into her amethyst eyes, and I could tell she wanted to know what happened.

“Tell me stallion, who are you? What’s your name?” She asked me.

I replied, “My name is Shining Armor, older brother of Twilight Sparkle.”

The princess looked at me curiously as I held the saddle bag in my magic. I then stuttered a bit, “I...It’s not.. not what you think. I was chasing the stallion behind me, and wanted to return this to the proper pony owner.”

The princess then looked behind me and she saw the crooked stallion moaning in pain. She put a hoof on my shoulder, and she said, “Good work. My niece would want to meet you someday. Now go return the saddlebag to the proper owner and tell Twilight I said hi.”

I nodded my head, and walked back towards my sister when Celestia spoke up, “How about you and Twilight come to the castle, and we all have dinner with my niece when she gets here.”

I couldn’t turn down an offer like that, so I said, “That sounds very lovely. When do you want us to be there?”

Celestia replied, “Soon. My niece will be here sometime today. I’ll send royal guards to pick you both up at your house.”

“Great. Thanks for the invitation.” I said, as I walked away.

I couldn't wait to tell Twiliy the good news.
