//-------------------------------------------------------// The Knight and The Princess -by Red Mare- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Chapter 1 Princess Cadenza/Cadence  Pov (Point of View) My name is Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, I'm a young mare, forced to be a grown up adult, and I am living in a different part of Equestria. I live with my father who is a king and decides my future, my mother who is queen and agrees with him. Buck my life. I hate living like royalty in this household. I feel imprisoned by them and their rules, also I have no friends. I wish somepony will take me away and free me from this prison. I recently got done with my teachings today about the history of Equestria. Well forced to be taught, so I can be a intelligent princess for any suitor. Right, somepony please help me. I thought to myself as I lay down on my small bed from the long day of education. I sighed to myself as I walked towards a window. I looked out the window and I saw mares, colts, stallions, and fillies having fun. I couldn’t help but feel jealous of the others ponies I saw. They were free to do whatever they want and I wasn’t. Every time I went outside of the household I was escorted by a guard or guards because my dad doesn’t want me hurt. A nice and good father trying to protect his daughter from danger, but the guards he sends with me, protect me from every single pony that I try to meet and befriend. Sometimes I try to sneak away from the guards and apologies for their behavior. I get sighted and escorted back to the castle and I have to face my mother and father. I get punished just like any little filly would, for doing something bad. “Why Cadenza? Why must you disobey me?!” My father asked me, a look of disappointment on his face. I didn't dare speak back until he was finish so I let him. "Every time I give you guards to escort and protect you into the public you immediately run off. From now on, you are to stay in this castle until further notice." Now normally I would obey my father but he crossed the line. I shouted at him, "That’s not fair! I deserve at least a little freedom from being in the castle all day! You can’t take that away from me!” My father just glared at me. The kind of glare that could destroy half of Equestria, and make it look like a bad place to live. My mother just entered the room and asked my father, “What’s wrong dear?” My father then looked at my mother then back at me, he then replied, “Our daughter Cadenza here leaves the guards and continues to disobey my wishes for her safety. So I’m punishing her by grounding her to stay in the castle. But she mouthed back to me that we’ve been imprisoning her.” My mother then looked at me. She gave me the look of disapproval, I know what was coming. Normally, mother’s (like mine) are supposed to support their husbands (like my father) and their daughter’s (like me). Instead my mother supports my father instead of me, so she told me, “Cadenza, you are hereby to stay in the castle until further notice. Is that clear?” I wanted to speak back, but instead I lowered my head in defeat, I know I’m losing this argument no matter what I do and what I say. I raised my head and looked at my parents with anger and I shouted at them, “I HATE YOU BOTH!!!!” I then left the throne room with my parents in shock at what I just told them, and I ran towards my bedroom. I opened the door with my magic, I enter my room, slamming the door shut behind me. I locked it with my magic so nopony could enter. I then began to cry and sob loudly enough for the servants to hear me. I levitated a pillow over towards me and I cried into it. Good thing the pillow is muffling my sobs and is absorbing my tears as I looked at the dark wet spots. I put the pillow back down on my bed, and I walked towards my window, I saw mares, stallions, colts, and fillies all outside of their homes, enjoying the fresh air and their freedom unlike me. I wish that I could have freedom from everything. Have somepony to love me for the way I am, and not just because I’m a princess, but love me just for being normal mare. Of how I met my first friend, how I got my name changed, and how I met the love of my life. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 Chapter 2 Shining Armor’s Pov (Point of View) “Twily wake up.” I said, gently, to a sleeping little purple unicorn rolling around in her bed. I couldn’t help but smile at the sight, so I nudged her gently. Soon, I saw two purple eyes waking up, looking right at me. Then I heard a yawn from the little filly that was from my sister. She looked up at me and smiled, I couldn’t help smile back at her. Twily said,  “Good morning BBBFF.” “Good morning to you too LSBFF.” I said back to her, happily. “Do I have to get up?” My sister asked me, with pleading eyes. “Yes you do.” I said, beating her pleading look. “Even if I do this.” She said, putting on her best duckface expression. So I changed my game plan up a bit, I said, “Then I think Princess Celestia will have to find a new student.” . “No way, she will not.” “Oh I think she will. Cause her student is sleeping in and doesn’t want to learn a thing about magic.” That’s when my little sister got out of bed, ran down the stairs, and was quickly looking for something to eat. I chuckled at how I can fool her and get her out of bed so easily. I better go check on her, for Twiliy doesn’t know that she has the weekend off from being teached by the princess to use magic. I walked down the stairs, and into the kitchen and what I saw would make anypony go awww. Twiliy was eating oats, toast, and had a glass of orange juice near her. I chuckled a bit at the mess she made, but I cleaned it up for her. That’s when my sister said, “Hey Shining....” I replied, “Yes Twiliy.” “Am I a bad student?” She asked me, disapproval in her voice. I couldn’t help but feel hurt that she asked that about herself so I replied, “Of course not. You’re the best student ever to be learning from the princess herself, and you’re also the best sister that I have.” She looks at me and says, “Really?. You mean that?.” I had to reply, “Yes I mean it Twilight.” I heard the best squee in my life from my sister as she ran over towards me, hugged me, and began to nuzzle me. I returned the gesture, and I’m also hoping to make this the best day of Twilight’s life. My name is Shining Armor, I’m a library assistant, I’m the elder brother of Twilight Sparkle. ‘Twiliy’ is the nickname I gave her. My dream is to become a captain of the royal guard, to protect and serve under Princess Celestia. I don’t know what destiny has awit for me, but I’m prepared to give it everything I got. “Eat up Twiliy. We are going somewhere today.” I said to her. “But didn’t you get me up for Celestia’s teaching today Shining?” Twilight asked me, confusion on her face. I forgot to tell her it was her weekend off, so I’m prepared to face the consequences. I closed my eyes as I replied, “Twiliy, today is your day off, well actually your weekend off from being taught to use magic. I got you up so we can go somewhere today.” “So you lied to me. That’s uncool Big Bro.” “I know, I shouldn't have lied to you. I just wanted you and me to hang out today, then we can go wherever you want to tomorrow.” “Really you promise!” “Yes I promise.” “You are the coolest BBBFF ever!” “And you’re the best LSBFF ever. Now go get your saddle bags, fill it with what you want, and we’ll be on our way.” “Okay Shining.” Twilight hugged me, then ran up the stairs to her bedroom. I looked at the empty bowl, plate, and glass on the table. Maybe I should told her to clean up after herself, then let her go get her saddlebags. Sometimes I’m such a goofball, but I’m my family’s goofball. Is that what destiny, fate, or some other mumbo jumbo, has in store for me? I’ll soon find out. I started to clean up my sister’s mess. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 Chapter 3 Princess Cadenza/Cadence Pov (Point of View) I looked at myself in the mirror and my mane was a mess. I levitated a comb in a light blue aura of magic and began to brush my mane. Just as I was brushing, my bedroom door opened and my ice cold, agree with my dictator father, mother entered my room. She closed the door behind her gently, as she trotted over towards me. If she and my father found a spouse for me again, I will tell them no and walk away. What could my mother want at this time of hour, so late in the evening it couldn’t wait? “What do you want mother?” I asked, coldly, not looking at my mother’s eyes. My mother looked at me, I could feel it. She then replied, “Cadenza why do you seem to push me and your father away? Did we do something to upset you?” That right there drew the line. She wanted to know the reason so I gave it to her. I said, “Yes you both did. You both force me to marry some strange stallion from a royal family so you can get more land that way. Then you both imprison me in the castle, taking away my freedom that I think I deserve. And to top it all off, you agree with my father whenever he makes a decision about my life.” “Dear we are just trying to do what’s best for you.” My mother told me. “It’s not what I want mother!” I shouted at her, making my point clear. “Cadenza! We’re giving you everything you could ever want, royalty, servants, guards, classes, and even meals. What more could you want?!” “I want to have freedom, and I want to be treated like a normal mare for once!” My mother stopped talking, and looked at me disapproving. “If you want to be treated like a normal mare then I’m going to write a letter to your aunt Celestia and you’ll be there for 6 months, living in her castle as a princess, but when you walk outside these castle walls you’ll be treated as a normal mare.” My mother told me, as she walked out of my room. As the door closed, I jumped for joy, feeling victorious for winning a argument for  the first time against one of my parents. I dropped the comb on my nightstand, and flew towards my window. I watched the other fillies, colts, mares, and stallions enjoying their lives. Soon I’ll be one of them. But unaware of my situation I saw a strange stallion looking at me through my window. Just as a group of ponies walked by he disappeared into thin air. That was weird, Where could’ve that stallion go? I guess I’ll never know. I flew towards my bed, and lay down on it, with a smile on my face. I can’t wait to be out of this castle. Though I had a bad feeling. That doesn't matter, I’m so excited. Before I knew it, I closed my eyes, and drifted off to sleep. Underground A stallion walked down the dark underground as he made his way to the meeting table. “Did she see you?” Asked another cloaked pony. “Yes she did.” The stallion replied, bitterness in his voice. “Good. Our spies in Canterlot spotted a filly. One with great destiny.  Now we’ll commence Phase 2 of our operation.” The cloaked pony said, laughing evilly. Just then a door opened and came in a young teenage bug. “Mother what are you doing?” It asked in a feminine bug voice. Rubbing her tired eyes from being awakened. “Nothing my dear sweet Chrysalis. Now go back to sleep. Mommy will be there soon.” The cloak pony said, walking towards the bug creature and walking her out of the room. The stallion chuckled a bit. This is something too good to pass up. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 Chapter 4 Shining Armor’s Pov (Point of View) I walked down Canterlot streets with my little sister by my side. We both were smiling as we neared our destination, Canterlot Park. My sister and I walked towards the playground where a bunch of fillies and colts were playing around with each other. My sister looked up at me and asked, “What are we doing here Shining?” I replied, “Well I thought you could have some fun from being taught to use magic.” “I prefer to learn and not play around” “Oh come on Twiliy.” “No. I prefer to read my book or being taught to use magic.” “Nothing I say will change your mind will it.” “That’s right big bro.” “Well I could maybe give you something in return, if you play for five minutes.” My sister looks at me with curiousness in her eyes as she waited for my bargain. I smirked knowing that I just beaten and out smarted my sister. I told her, ”Maybe we could go get some treats. You pick the place and I’ll pay for it.” Twiliy smiled and hugged me. She said, “It’s a deal.” I levitated her saddlebags off of her as I watched her go to the playground. I found a bench nearby and sat down on it, my sister’s saddlebags beside me. I watched Twiliy play on the playground, she was running and having fun. I smiled at the sight, my little sister having fun. Just then I spotted a strange pony in a cloak looking at the fillies and colts playing on the playground. I just shrugged it off, probably just a brother, mother, father, sister, or a foal sitter watching their kid play. That’s when Twiliy ran up to me, and asked, “Can... Can...we go get a treat Shining?” I couldn’t help but laugh at her, she ran on the playground and she ran towards me still trying to catch her breath. I replied, “Sure just let me put your saddlebags on you and we can go.” I looked in the direction where the cloaked pony was, and he or she was gone, disappeared into thin air. Twiliy was looking up at me and she asked, “Shining what are you looking at?” “Hmm. Oh nothing just watching you play around is all. Come on let’s go.” I replied, knowing I lied to my sister. I put her saddlebags back on her and we walked away from Canterlot Park. I walked down the streets of Canterlot with my sister by my side. Then I heard a adult mare scream, “Somepony! Anypony stop the thief that stole my saddlebag!” I then noticed a crooked stallion holding the same adult mare saddle bag on his back. Probably a evil unicorn trying to get quick bits. I looked down at my sister and I told her, “Twiliy. I need you to stay here. I’ll be right back.” “Okay Big Bro. Go get the bad pony.” My sister told me. I couldn’t help but chuckle a bit. I ran after the evil stallion, I then teleported in front of him. He crashed into me and whined, “Ow. Where did you come from?” “I’m just a normal unicorn. Now hand over the saddlebag and nopony gets hurt.” I told him, seriously. I could probably hurt him, knowing my skills with magic, and self defense. The stallion got up, and he lunged at me. Big mistake, I grabbed him under his belly and threw him to a dumpster. As he made impact, I slowly walked towards him, I levitated the saddlebag from him, and I began to walk away. Just then the royal guard appeared, along with Princess Celestia. I bowed down immediately. The she put a hoof under my chin, I looked straight into her amethyst eyes, and I could tell she wanted to know what happened. “Tell me stallion, who are you? What’s your name?” She asked me. I replied, “My name is Shining Armor, older brother of Twilight Sparkle.” The princess looked at me curiously as I held the saddle bag in my magic. I then stuttered a bit, “I...It’s not.. not what you think. I was chasing the stallion behind me, and wanted to return this to the proper pony owner.” The princess then looked behind me and she saw the crooked stallion moaning in pain. She put a hoof on my shoulder, and she said, “Good work. My niece would want to meet you someday. Now go return the saddlebag to the proper owner and tell Twilight I said hi.” I nodded my head, and walked back towards my sister when Celestia spoke up, “How about you and Twilight come to the castle, and we all have dinner with my niece when she gets here.” I couldn’t turn down an offer like that, so I said, “That sounds very lovely. When do you want us to be there?” Celestia replied, “Soon. My niece will be here sometime today. I’ll send royal guards to pick you both up at your house.” “Great. Thanks for the invitation.” I said, as I walked away. I couldn't wait to tell Twiliy the good news. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 Chapter 5 Princess Cadenza/Cadence PoV (Point of View) The day came for me. Yes finally I will be a normal mare for once in my life. I began to pack most of my things. My brush, my hoof mirror, a scrunchy, drawing pads, quills, ink jars, books, and clothing some to wear outdoors and some dresses in case I get asked out on a date. This is the best day of my life, or so I thought when my father entered my room. His gaze was ice cold when he looked at me, I could feel chills run down in my room, and down my spine. I waited for him to talk. “Cadenza. Please be safe.” My father told me, concerned for me. Now I was really confused, he never even once told me he cared for me but now he does. I nodded my head, telling him everything he wanted to know.  I said, “I will father.” Now the unexpected part came, he hugged me. I was shocked at first, but then I hugged him back. I am going to miss my parents, the servants, and this castle. I closed my travelling bag, and my saddle bag, and walked out of my room. I looked back at the closed door again, then turned around and walked in the opposite direction. As I walked down the hallway, and entered the throne room, I saw my parents talking to my Aunt Celestia. My Aunt was probably the most beautiful Alicorn in all of Equestria. Her white coat shined in the sunlight, making it bright. Her mane and tail had many colors, pinks, blues, greens, and purples. Her cutie mark was a sun, that resembled her talent of raising the sun. She had a long horn, and wings that matched her coat. On top of her head, was a golden crown with a purple gem embedded in it. I just stood in the doorway, looking at my family from afar. I then walked up towards them, wondering if I should be part of this conversation. As I approached them, my Aunt gave me a warming smile, the kind of smile she gives to all ponies when they’re in need of comfort. Great, now I get to be comforted for six months. I just hope I get to have fun, and relax from being a princess. “Are you ready Cadenza?” My aunt asked me, happily. “Yes I am Aunt Celestia.” I replied, a smile formed on my face. “Good. Let’s be on our way then.” She told me, as she walked away. I soon followed right behind her. As we reached the doors, leading out of the castle I lived in, I saw a carriage made entirely out of white marble, and it had gold linings. There were no windows, that I could see on it, but it looked beautiful when the sun was glistening it. I wondered if this is how my Aunt got here, I saw her royal pegasi guards just standing in position, holding the carriage waiting for their princess, or in this case my Aunt and me. My Aunt and I walked to the carriage, and hopped on, causing the carriage to shake a bit. The royal guards, then sprouted their wings and began to fly upwards. As I looked down from the side of the carriage I saw  the castle getting further away from my sight. A huge smiled escaped my lips, finally I was getting away from the prison that my parents called home. My Aunt looked down at me, smiling. She then said, “So what do you plan once we arrive at Canterlot, my niece Cadenza?” That question was really bothering me.What should I do once I get to Canterlot? I began to think as we were on our way to Canterlot. I kept thinking, and still I couldn't answer my Aunt Celestia’s question. Soon we arrived at Canterlot Castle, and it was a magnificent sight to take in all at once. The castle was embedded in the side of a mountain, a waterfall came from somewhere on top, making a little river. There was grass everywhere near the river, and around the castle, making a nice garden. The castle was made out of white marble and had golden linings everywhere, and the towers were tall, and their roofs were made of purple tiles. The carriage landed at one of the tower balconies. The pegasi guards taking off their reins as they escorted us inside the castle, making sure we're safe and sound. I can respect the guards here at Canterlot, but at my home the guards there treated everypony as a threat or a danger to me, here at Canterlot they do not treat everypony as a threat or a danger. For my Aunt Celestia could banish them, or put them in a dungeon, or put them in a dungeon and banish them to somewhere far away from Canterlot and civilization.  Speaking of my Aunt Celestia she stopped suddenly, turned towards me, and said, “I forgot to tell you that we are having guests over for dinner tonight and one of the guests is a personal student of mine, and her brother. Would you like to meet her and her brother Cadenza?” Now I have a choice to say yes or no. So I replied, “Yes I would like to meet them.”
