Chapter 4

Two weeks had passed since the comatose mare was brought to the canterlot hospital. Nothing had changed since those days passed. Her snout was fixed from it's broken appearance along with her dislocated shoulder, the swelling from her left eye had gone down significantly, the only thing that remained from that first day was her black eye.

Everyday for those two weeks, Celestia and Luna would take an hour of there time, day or night to check on the alabaster mare. There was no new progress as of late, this made Celestia feel so ashamed of herself, she hoped the comatose mare would wake soon. She just wanted to make everything right.

During the night of the beginning of the third week, the alabaster mare that lied onto the hospital bed began to stir from her slumber her left hand began to shake softly as her gentle sapphire eyes slowly opened.

'W-were am I?' she said in thought. She began to look around the room only to see small blobs in her vision. She groaned in discomfort as she slowly moved her right arm to her face. 'Why does my body hurt so much?' The mare thought as she began to rub her eyes.

The beeping of the heart monitor went unnoticed as she laid in the bed in thought. 'That was one scary dream. What were those things? I have never seen anything like them in my life. They were female I knew that. But what was strange was that they had ears and faces like horses, but they seemed... Different? There eyes were very large possibly cartoonish in a sense. And they didn't have skin but fur on there bodies... That truck must have really done some damage to me. How is it that I'm still alive?'

The mare took her hand away from her eyes and began to move it upward to comb back her mane only to strike her horn with a small bit a force causing the alabaster mare to yelp in pain. "Ouch! That hurt! What in the world did I just hit!?"

Quickly the mare shut her mouth from hearing the sound of her voice speak out. 'What the hell was that!? That wasn't my voice!' The mare began to hyperventilate a bit increasing her heart rate and causing the heart monitor to beep a bit faster. A minute passed when a a thought came to her. 'M-maybe it's just a sore throat? I just need a glass water, that should bring my voice back to normal.'

She began to look around the room once more. It was dark but she could tell exactly where she was. The alabaster mare looked to her left to find the heart monitor beeping away as the IV dripped from the bag and into the small tube that was hooked to her left arm. 'Thank goodness I'm in a hospital... I-I wonder how long I've been here?'

The mare in the bed began to look around again, searching for a light source she could use to help her. It was still to dark for her to see anything. She moved her right arm out hoping to find a lamp near bye. But as her arm stretched to it's full length she felt her delicate fingers hit something hard.

It was to dark to tell, but if the sound of glass shattering on the tile floor was anything, she knew she had possibly hit a glass lamp or maybe a glass pitcher. 'Oh darn it! Now why in the world did I do that!?'

Not a minute passed when the mare in the hospital bed heard the sound of woman's heels clacking on the tile floor outside her door. A light knocking was heard before the knob on the door began to twist and swivel open. There at the threshold of the open door stood a silhouette of a woman. Her features being obscured by the bright florescent light coming from the hospital corridor.

"Oh goodness you're awake! We were hoping when you would come too." Before the alabaster mare could respond, a bright flash filled the room causing her to quickly shut her eyes from the stinging pain she felt. "Oh my! I'm so sorry miss, I shouldn't have done that!"

The mare in the bed began to rub her eyes once again, ignoring the last part of what the person in front of her said. That clacking of her heels sounded once again as she moved closer to the left side of the bed. "Oh dear, there's seems to have been an accident. Not a problem it will only take a second to clean up."

Hearing the person next to her bed, she slowly opened her eyes trying to adjust to the bright lighting in her room. She looked to her right seeing the figure in her vision. As she blinked her eyes a few times the figure before her became more detailed in it features.

She didn't need her eyes to know that the person before her was female, but as she looked closely to the woman she found a most trouble sight before her.

'No!' Was her immediate thought. 'No! NO! NO! NO! S-she can't be real! She looks like one of those monsters f-from my dream!' The alabaster mare began to hyperventilate as her eyes grew wide from looking to the thing in front of her.

This action did not go unnoticed from the mare in front of her. The nurse looked back to the now awakened patient to find hyperventaling for some reason. Quickly she placed her hands the unicorns shoulders asking her to stay calm. "Please ma'am stay calm everything is all right."

The words the nurse spoke had no affect. The mare in the began to scream at the top of her lungs as she tried to swat away the creature? That held her down.

The nurse did all she could but still the hysteric mare wouldn't listen. As the screaming continued more nurses and even a few doctors came rushing into hysteric mare's room wanting reason for the disturbance.

"Nurse! What in Faust name is going on in here!?" A doctor known as Dr. HeartBeat yelled as he quickly made his way to screaming patients bed side.

"I-I don't know! She was fine when I walked in, but she took one look at me and started screaming!"

The doctor acknowledge the nurses answer as he walked to the counter and unlocked a drawer labeled 'Sedatives' he drew out a single syringe and began to extract a few milligrams of 'Pentobarbital' before walking back to the bed.

"Nurse I need you to hold her down as I give this sedative. You." He then pointed to a single nurse in the crowd standing by the door. "Go inform the princesses the patient is now awake." With a quick nod the nurse from behind left to do as the doctor asked.

"Doctor I have under control for now but I don't know how long I can hold her still!" Dr. HeartBeat turned too the the nurse holding down the screaming mares arms as another held her legs down to the bed.

Calmly Dr. HeartBeat swabbed a small part of the mares wrist with alcohol before injecting the contents of the syringe into her system. The hysteric mare began to calm as the sedative took effect in her system. Her screaming seized as her struggling began to die down. The nurses had finally let go as the mare had given up in her struggling endeavor. "Shhh. Everything's okay miss you're okay now." The doctor said as he calmly stroked her mane.

"Why?" The mare in the bed softly said as she looked to Dr. HeartBeat. "Why are you doing this to me?" Tears began streaming down her muzzle as she locked eyes with him. "What did I do to deserve this?"

Dr. HeartBeat himself swelling with sadness has he looked into the mares tear filled Diamond colored eyes. "What do you mean ma'am? We are only trying to help you."

"W-What am I? What did you do to my body?" The doctor was stumped. He didn't know what to say. The mare looked to him with nothing but sadness in her eyes.

But before he could ask another question a bright flash filled the room causing both the doctor and the patient to shield there eyes from the intensity of the flash.

Dr. HeartBeat began to rub his eyes to rid the disorienting effects of the flash. The mare beside him doing the same. With the effects of the flash gone Dr. HeartBeat looked to the area of the flash to find a peculiar sight before him.

There both Princesses stood, Celestia in a lovely white night gown with gold enlaced accents, a pair of red reading glasses and her mane now... Pink? Standing next to the Solar Princess was her smaller sister Luna wearing an outfit that really made the doctor raise a brow at. Luna stood there shaking her dizziness' of from the sudden teleportation. She wore a pair of plaid coated male boxers, a simple t-shirt that seemed a size to big for the Lunar Princess with the words 'Princess Pwns Alot' written in the front.

As he looked so did the mare beside him. Even in her sedative state she grew frightened. "No." She softly spoke. "No. No. Please no." Her breathing began to deepen as she grabbed onto the doctors jacket as she looked frightfully to the Solar Princess. "Please! Please don't let it hurt me!"

Hearing those words hurt the Solar Princess in her heart. She wanted so badly to apologize for what she did to her to what the others did to her. As Celestia took a step forward, The crying mares grip began to tighten onto the doctors arm as if he was her shield against her tormentor.

"Tia." Luna said looking to her saddened sister. "I think you should wait outside for a bit. Let me talk to her, I'll help as much as I can ok." Celestia didn't answer her sister, she kept her gaze onto the crying mare before her as tears began to fall from her muzzle.

"I..." Celestia tried to speak but found it hard to do with lump she felt in her throat. The Solar Princess closed her eyes and tried to push it down so she could hopefully say her peace before she leaves the room. "I-I'm so sorry. I'm sorry for what we did to you." Celestia could feel a new batch of tears welling in her eyes as she made her way to the door. The Solar Princess placed her hand on the handle and turned, but before she opened the door, she looked back to the crying alabaster mare watching her leave. "Please if you can find it in your heart. Please forgive us."

Nothing more was said as Celestia left the room, now leaving The Lunar Princess, Dr. HeartBeat and the hospitalized mare inside.

Slowly, the grip that the mare used to hold onto the doctor began to weaken as the seconds passed after Celestia left the room. All was quiet for the time being but with a cough, Princess Luna fought the attention of the doctor and the mysterious mare still barely holding onto him.

"Hello." Was the first word she spoke to the frightened mare, the princess a soft smile as she continued. "Tis alright. Thou are safe here, thou has no need to be frightened anymore. We promise."

The mare finally let go of Dr. HeartBeats arm and looked to Lunar Princess before her mane covering half of her face as she looked to the Midnight blue alicorn.

"Why?" Was what she said looking to Princess Luna. "Why did you do this to me? What did you do to me? To my body?" Luna new she would ask these questions. But had no clue on how to answer them.

Nopony new why this happened or even why she came to Equestria. Both Luna and her sister looked into this matter and no matter how much they searched they could not find anything to answer there question to why this happened to the once human male that sacrificed himself for the young human female.

Even stranger was why he came here in the body of a mare, but not just any mare. He took the form of the mare known as Rarity the 'Element of Generosity'. Was there a reason? Was there something that could help them understand?.. No. Nothing would show not from the many books they read to memories they found in her mind. The only thing they could do now is help this frightened mare has best they could and introduce her into a new world and a new life.

"I'm sorry." The Princess first said as she looked away from the sad mare. "We do not understand why this happened to you. Why you have the body of a mare. We searched your memories and found that this." The princess motioned to the mares body. "Tis not your real form. Tis hard for us to say this but... Thou had died back in your world. After the carriage struck thou when thou saved that small filly, the damage it did to thou was immense. We do not understand why thou were brought to Equestria, nor do we understand why thou were given the body of a mare. Please believe us, we will find a way to help you. Anything within our power we will do our best to help you."

The mare sat there in the bed just... Dumbfounded by the revelation she was told. She died in her world. She lost everything her home, and her family. Now she was in this unknown place. Scared, alone and different. She needed time now just time to understand everything.

"I-I..." She mumbled with her words before looking down, away from the midnight blue alicorn and to the sight of her new white furred hands . "Can you leave please. I-I need to be alone right now."

Luna could hear the pain in the way the mare spoke, she didn't want to leave her, not like this. But it wasn't her choice. The mare needed space right now, and the only thing Luna could do was oblige her request.

"Of course." The Lunar Princess said just before walking closer to the mares hospital bed. Luna placed her hand on the mares shoulder, the alabaster unicorn didn't flinch she only sat there looking at her small slender hands. "If there is anything you need, anything at all. All you must do is call for us and we will come. Know that we will do all we can to make everything right, my sister included.

The mare didn't respond to what she said. All her focus remained onto her hands as she studied there form. With a sigh Luna let go of the occupied mare, leaving her bedside with Dr. HeartBeat in tow.

As the Luna neared the door she looked back to the confused mare sitting on her bed. The Lunar Princess let a small tear fall from her eye as she left the room leaving the mare to her ministrations about her new self.

When Luna and the doctor walked out of the room, the Lunar Princess was immediately assaulted by questions by her elder sister Celestia whom seemed had been crying after she left the room.

"Luna! How is she?! What did she say?!" Before Celestia could continue, Luna brought her hand up signaling her sister to stop her insistent questions.

"Sister I know thou feels terrible for what thou and the others had done to the poor mare." Luna could see the pain in her sisters tired eyes. "I talked to her, only briefly though. She... She wants to be alone as of now. She is scared about everything that has happened to her. She realized that she lost her life back in her world, and now not only does she find herself alive in a new one but she finds that she is no longer what she used to be. We can sense she fills so alone at this moment, we know, we felt the very same back on the moon."

Celestia gave a small whimper as she embraced her younger sister in a tight hug. "Please Luna don't remind me! For every second you were gone I regretted that day I sent you to the moon!"

Luna even though being younger by 1100 years to her elder sister, let her break down and cry into her shoulder like a young foal. "Sshh sister tis ok, we are here now. Never again will we allow the nightmare take us again." Celestia didn't say a word as she continued to cry.

Celestia for the past few weeks has been emotionally fragile. Ever since the Changeling attack all those months ago, Canterlot and the rest of Equestria have been under surveillance by her guard incase of any changelings were to be found.

When Celestia read the letter that Twilight sent about a changeling in Ponyville, it infuriated her. But when Celestia read further, she found that not only did the changeling infiltrate the small town that housed the 'Elements Of Harmony' but it also broke into the home to the 'Element Of Generosity' that sent the solar princess over the edge in anger.

When Celestia found that the changeling wasn't truly one of the wretched beings, but an innocent pony she hurt and almost killed, the fire that fueled her anger was quickly extinguished after she first heard the mare scream in pain from the spell that she cast upon her.

And since she brought the broken mare to Canterlot Hospital, Celestia, once she reached her bed would cry over what she had done to the mare. And every night since then she would cry again and again till she fell into nights embrace and slept.

Now she was here right outside the mares hospital room crying into her younger sister shoulder after being reminded what she did all those years ago banishing her one and only sibling to the moon.

As the last of Celestia's tears fell she broke the embrace she had with her sister and wiped away the remnant of the last of her tears. "I-I'm sorry about that Lu-Lu, it's just... With everything that's happened with the changelings and her." She said looking to the mares hospital room. "I just feel horrible about everything I've done in the past."

"Tis okay dear sister, we all have done things in the past we regret, but from my own experience we choose to look forward and see what Faust might take our lives and those of our little ponies."

You're right sister. She's awake now and that means we can do what's right and help her in her new life here."

"We said to her that if thou needs anything from us all she must do is ask."

"That's good to hear Lu-Lu. Come, we should head back to the castle. I need to send my student a letter on the mares current condition. I'm certain she and the others would like forgiveness for what they had done to her."

"You do that Tia. We are heading to our room to finish the campaign for Haylo 2."

Celestia gave a sigh as she looked to her younger sister. "We'll take about your gaming addiction later Luna. But let's just go back I need to raise the sun in a few hours."

Celestia's horn began to light in a golden hue as she readied her teleportation spell. Just before she finished charging Luna grumbled to herself saying she has no addiction as she crossed arms in a huff and in a flash of golden light they were gone leaving a still dumbfounded Dr. HeartBeat in there wake.
