Rise of Mare Do Well and Friends
Issue 1: Mare of Justice (Origin)
Issue I
Mare Do Well. At first she used the costume because she wanted to help teach Dash a lesson. She wanted to prove to the silly pegasus she was a force to be reckoned with. She wanted to show she was assertive enough, suave enough, smart enough, and brawny enough to use the suit. She wanted to rub in the fact she was as good as the ever so great Dash. when did she become a real hero? It happened in an alley actually.
She was patrolling the northern side as a joke to keep Dash on her toes even though she had said she would never use the suit again. The suit made her different on the inside and out. She held herself with more grace, used more power behind her tasks, and all around became someone new...someone powerful. Well back to the alley. She was on the roof top when she heard a scream. She had looked down and found Fluttershy cornered by three stallions. She had felt rage well in her body and she looked around. No one knew how smart she could be. She found an easy path and grinned under her mask. She jumped from the roof to a fire escape, then slid down the ladder and as it got stuck she unhooked it and jumped. She rolled as she hit the ground and the ladder bounce behind her. She grinned and buck kicked the ladder at one of the stallions then rushed forward and slammed her left hoof into the largest one's stomach, knocking the wind from him.
She had stolen the costume from the Carousel Boutique and had, had it enhanced. In the center of her cutie mark rested a hidden jewel that activated her suit. Code word: Forza or Strength in Italian. She snarled softly then jumped up and double buck kicked the next stallion in the mouth and knocked him into a wall. She smirked under her mask then moved forward towards the remaining stallion and cleared her throat before grinning, "Now darling. I will give you until four to get the hell out of this alley before I kill you."
The stallion took off and Mare Do Well trotted over and nuzzled her neck. "Hush now Fluttershy. You are safe." She moved Fluttershy onto her back then jumped onto a dumpster, moved up a low hanging ladder then up a fire escape and to a roof. She looked up then began on her way to Flutterhsy's house. "Who are you?"
"Not an enemy, not a friend."
"You have to be Rarity."
"No my dear." She jumped off the top of a building and flipped to a lower ledge then jumped to a dumpster. She bounced off that and landed on the ground. She trotted along in the darkened streets and sighed softly. "My dear, will you be okay?" Fluttershy nodded and slid off her back then looked at her.
"You're not Rarity are you?"
"No." She looked back and found Rarity staring at her in shock. "I must be going. I will hopefully see you again." She moved then jumped over her and bounced off a dumpster lid and up. She grabbed onto the bottom of a ladder and climbed up.
She walked down the streets and sighed softly, that was a close one. She trotted towards her home yawning as she did so. She ducked behind some trees adn mumbled, "Debole." Her suit melted off then swirled into her cutie mark and she trotted down the path and too her house. She looked up into the sky and sighed softly. "Tomorrow."
The next day she trotted down the market street to the Sugarcube Corner to get some coffee. As she got in her friend, Pinkie, rushed over. "What'll you be having?"
"Just some coffee and a cupcake, if its not too much trouble." Nodding rapidly she rushed off and Mare Do Well, not called that in public mind you, went over to a table and sat down. She yawned again from leate night out and doing other things, like studying. She smiled in thanks as Pinkie brought over her food and drink then began to eat. "Did you hear about Fluttershy?" She shook her head and Pinkie gasped. "Well someone dressed as Mare Do Well helped her out of a sticky situation!"
"Oh?"
"Yup! Rarity checked the costume vault and found all of our costumes missing!" She gasped and nodded in shock along with her friend. "Gosh....you must have been hungry." She frowned then looked down and colored slightly when she found her food and coffee were gone and done.
"Well sorry. Guess-."
"I'll get you some more." She smiled as her hyperactive friend ran off and she looked up as the door opened. Rainbow rushed in with Fluttershy and Rarity following.
"Hey did Pinkie-?" She nodded and they sat around her.
"What should we do? She did save Fluttershy." Fluttershy sighed then bit her lip.
"She talked like Rarity." Rarity nodded and placed an arm around Fluttershy's shoulder.
"She's a good soul but she shouldn't have broken into my house." They nodded and Pinkie came back with a large tray of food and they began to eat. She slowly finished and said, "Well gotta go girls." They nodded and she left with a slight grin.
Later that night she was on top of a roof looking around when she heard a call. "Hey!" She turned and raised an eyebrow at the new person near her. The person was dressed in a full brown body suit, black boots, a tan cape, a red bandanna rested around the persons neck, and a brown stetson was resting on her blonde dyed mane. "Howdy Partner."
"Who are you?"
"The Lone Ranger." Mare trotted over and grinned.
"You're not western."
"You can tell?"
"Putting it on really thick with the accent."
"You're not from high society." Mare chuckled and nodded.
"Yes." They looked at one another then down as a scream came. Mare smiled at Lone Ranger and trotted over.
"So lovely. How about we stop what ever is going on?" Lone Ranger coughed then nodded and they rushed to the side of the bulilding and jumped off. They landed easily and Mare smirked. "Let the colts go!" The group of stallions laughed in a drunken stupor and the leader snarled, "Leave us alone little girls. These fags deserves it." Mare growled then looked past them to see Caramel cowering behind Big Mac. Rage burned in her chest and she rushed forward and upperhoofed him the leader, casing him to stumble back. She kicked him in the chest hard and spun around and tackled him to the ground. She slammed her hoof into his face then looked up and snarled in rage, "Ten seconds!"
The stallions stared at her in confusion and she roared, "Ten, nine, eight-." She stopped as the stallions freaked out and crashed into one another to get out of the way. She grinned sadistically then slowly got up and trotted over to the two stallions. "Are you both okay?" Big Mac grunted then looked back and nuzzled Caramel. Caramel nodded and smiled.
"Thank you Mare." Mare nodded then turned to see the stallion slash at her with a knife held in his mouth. She found she couldn't move back so she took the cut to the chest then head butted him in the jaw. He cried out in pain and Lone Ranger buck kicked him in the side. He flew through the air and into a dumpster. Lone Ranger growled then rushed over. "Are you okay?" Mare nodded then winced.
"I should be going."
"Wait!" She was already off.
She fell from a tree and landed hard on the ground, coughing in pain. "Ow." She slowly got up and whispered, "Debole." Her costume melted off then swirled out of existance and she stumbled home. She crashed inside and collapsed onto her chest. Pain shot through the wound and she looked up at the blurry outline of someone.
"Come on. Let's get you patched up." She slowly got up and dragged herself to the kitchen then hopped up onto the kitchen table. The other pony trotted to the next room and pulled out a first aid kit. "Try not ta get hurt next time Applejack."
"Yes'em."
